Amazing restaurant! The food is top tier and yet the prices are very reasonable!

My wife and I had been made aware of the exceptional food and service at Rapallo and, it was a special occasion, so we booked for Sunday late lunch-time. The immediate impression was in the welcome from the team, the setting was extremely well-organised with plenty of space between tables and options for couples as well as groups of four or more. Table was beautifully set and the atmosphere was most convivial, small groups, families and couples. Great start. We opted for the à la carte menu, though the ‘early bird’ menu looked good we had a good appetite and the à la carte offered more variety. Prices for cuisine of this quality is as you might expect, £11-£15 for pasta, pizza and risotto… the starters around £6-£8 and a range of options for the mains £14-£18 and more for the exceptional steak dishes on offer. The flavours were worth every penny. We chose a ‘special’, the prawn cocktails and we were both pleased, the presentation was the best we have seen in a long while and the taste achieved the same, very high standard. Another special for the main course was a beef stroganoff, with options of rice, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and roast new potatoes… the Branzino (European sea bass) in a variety of options was too good to miss, so we chose both the stroganoff and the sea bass… and could not resist the roast new potatoes and vegetables to go with both dishes…. And swapped plates half-way through. You know that when you taste the vegetables and they are cooked perfectly, the rest of the meal will also be perfect… that proved true today as always… absolutely fabulous food and beautifully presented. Ricardo and the other members of the team were attentive without being intrusive… Ricardo’s suggestion for a white wine, our preference, was the Sauvignon Blanc and that was just right also, sharp to a degree but with a rich softness to finish. Alas, there was no room for dessert but the coffee, their own brand/blend, was exceptionally good, rich and round without bitterness in the espresso… perfect end to a great meal. Give yourself a treat… you won’t get better food, wine, coffee or service… it is what we wanted for our special occasion. To paraphrase Arnold Schwarzenegger, “We’ll be back!”

Wow factor of 10 for service and food. Beer choice extremely limited which is always disappointing however you could not fault the food. Amazing 🤩

We recently held a surprise party at Rapallo and all I can say is it was an amazing evening . From planning the evening with the restaurant, setting up the restaurant with balloons and arranging the most amazing Italian buffet for the evening. It was Top Notch. Everyone commented on how amazing the hot buffet was. So A BIG THANKYOU to Burhan and your wonderful staff. It was a night to remember.

Our first time here yesterday and I so wish we had visited previously. The service by Ricardo and the attention to detail and food was excellent. The monk fish as the main was recommended by Ricardo was perfect! Will definitely be going back - the prices for two with two starters, two mains and a bottle of wine just over £60 - absolute value for money and so reasonable.

Always good service in here and also the food is different level. Pizza is a 1000% recommend. Not really a pasta eater but my wife's always happy and content. The desert is unreal. Got the sticky toffee and was bigger than a brick. Iv travelled the country for years and still my favourite Italian.

Live local to Rapallo. Very loud music and singing coming from the restaurant at 23:20 despite closing time being 22:00. There are young children in the home who were woken up by the noise. Please have more consideration for your neighbours

Really good food, all 3 courses in fact were excellent! Service good and staff very attentive. Only down side was the noise inside the restaurant! I don't know if is the acoustics or if the other diners were particularly louder than usual, but it was very, very bad! Would definitely go again though!

1st time here with friends last night. Staff are very happy, welcoming and attentive. Menu is nice and simple, food is excellent and reasonably priced. Just what you would expect from an authentic Italian. We'll be back !

Went midweek and enjoyed their midweek special 2-course menu for only £12.50. As expected, the place was crowded and atmosphere busy but enjoyable. The orders for drink and then food were taken promptly and served after a reasonable wait by the friendly waiting staff. The portions were of a good size and quality more than acceptable given the price we were paying. All in all a nice evening for a midweek treat without breaking the bank...

One of the best filet steaks I’ve ever had!! Just wish they had a roquefort and brandy sauce on the menu 😁Cooked to perfection! Starters were very generous and really good!! Will definitely go again soon!

Once a month place for us and always consistently good in terms of food service and experience. Top place without the £60 return trip taxi to Manchester for an inferior meal and service.

Every time I eat here, the food manages to get even better. Recently went with a party of 15, service was quick and efficient, food was delicious for all. Absolutely no issues from the many years of dining here. Highly Recommend!

We recently enjoyed a lovely Saturday evening in this excellent restaurant. Really busy with a great atmosphere, we had a few drinks in the reception area before going to our table. Served by really friendly staff the food was fantastic and the wine ice cold. We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful rustic Italian in Walshaw, stunning service and delicious food. We are regulars and always receive a VIP experience. Food is to die for! The £12.50 two course deal is wonderful for the portions and quality ingredients you get. Also perfect for all occasions whether it’s a birthday or private event. Lizzie and the team are one of a kind. Will always be back 🥰 thank you for our valentines chocolates and the themed decor made it even cosier! ♥️

The menu was good we went on a Thursday as they do a special 5 to nine £12.99. It's Monday to Thursday.

We had a family meal on Christmas eve. The restaurant was very busy, but this didn't affect the service or the food, which were both excellent. In fact there was a great friendly buzz about the place. We've been a few times now and I've never been disappointed. Keep it up Rapallo.

Had a wonderful meal at Rapallo on Wednesday. Meatballs and Soup starters then Lasagne and Spaghetti Bolognese . Great value as 2 course's for £12.50. Followed by a latte and cocktail. So lucky to have thus Gem of a restaurant on our doorstep.

7 of us visited last evening (20/1) as part of my birthday celebrations. I haven't been since it was Totos. Food was very good as was the service, but that felt a little rushed. To be fair they were extremely busy for 6pm Next time we go I think we will try mid week. Have to say the sirloin steak I had was perfect. There were no complaints from any of my family.

Called for a late lunch early dinner with family. Greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. All 3 of us had the early bird menu. Garlic mushrooms, bruschetta and pate followed by spagetti bol , mushroom & ham pizza and lasgane. It was delicious x it had a great Christmas atmosphere x lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant on our doorstep x well done Rapallo 😆🎄

We usually love it here, tonight food was great but literally as soon as we had finished the meal, the waitress removed our plates and asked if we could give our table up! We still had drinks and were shocked! I asked why this was asked as it has never happened before and she said we have overbooked. Sorry but this is not our fault and have never been asked this before in our 30+ years of dining in any restaurant. Another waiter came over with a card machine even though the waitress who asked us to vacate was getting the bill. When we explained we were asked to give the table up he said we should tell the manager and we would get free drinks in the bar area, we didn’t want more drinks and were happy with the 2 we had and had not finished, I rang and spoke to the manager who offered discount on our next visit or a bottle of wine which is fine but unfortunately wasn’t a great end to what would’ve been a lovely evening 🤷‍♀️

We have been visiting Rapallo, in its various iterations, for many years. In the last few years the restaurant has gone from good to great. Last night my wife and I enjoyed a Sunday afternoon dinner here. There was a buzz to the place that was exciting whilst not being too intrusive to our meal. The food was fabulous and the service from Elizabeth and her team was excellent. A new look interior added to a great ambience. It's so easy for a restaurant to become complacent, when it's doing well. That can't be said of Rapallo, which continues to impress. And I should mention the good value in the early bird menu, which is great. Well done Rapallo.

Delightful food and what a great atmosphere . Very efficient service. We visited on a Wednesday and couldn't believe how popular it was . Nothing worse than being the only people midweek. Lovely polite staff good operation!

Had a wonderful family evening at Rapallo. . We had Garlic bread tomato , garlic mushrooms and pate to start followed by fillet steak , risotto and a couple of pasta dishes all cooked to perfection. Could not fault it. Followed with Tiramsu , coffee and a cocktail or 2 The staff were attentive , friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We will defiantely come back x

This is the third visit when up to see family. The service and food choice is superb. We this time, had the starter and main for £11.50. Terrific value. The portions are full size so plenty to eat. I had the risotto with Parma ham and chargrilled chicken, it was delicious. Thoroughly recommended the restaurant, it’s better than some of the Manchester Italians for quality and service. Thanks for another great evening.

We went for a family meal here and had a starter and main each. Service was good and the staff were friendly, but the food was awful. The starters were ok, apart from the pate which was tasteless. We all had pasta mains and left 80% of it due to how awfully salty and inedible it was. A few meals were refunded with apologies. Would not come back.

The child's meal supposedly inclusive of pud and drink morphed into the price of adult meal pud and drink. Bill was corrected and came down to £211 from £270. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL as this happens a lot whether by accident or design. If i hadn't checked the bill for my poor old Dad who is 94 with poor sight, he would have been ripped off. Needless to say Rapallo is off our menu now. Still angry 😠

This is a lovely place to enjoy a family meal. There were 3 generations of us ranging from 7 to 70+ ncluding a pescatarian and a vegetarian . Everyone found 3 course meals they enjoyed. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was great. There is a good wine list. Certainly a place for a return visit.

Four of us went for a meal last night but I'm afraid the food wasn't very good, my lasagne was thin with hardly any pasta in it, all I could taste was cheese, my friends was identical. As a last resort I ordered sticky toffee pudding which was hard and dry. I told the waitress and she apologised. The staff were very good the food unfortunately was not. Will give it a miss in future.

My first visit to this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere and deco with ample table room. Very attentive staff and prompt service. Good food, especially the pizzas.

We called to reserve, and they accommodated us on the day for that evening. Although we did wait a while to order drinks, service was then with good time. Nothing too much trouble, lots of attentive staff. Food excellent. Piping hot, wonderfully presented, and tasty. We had starters, mains, and one dessert as we were so full. We all had different too, and we all passed comment on how good the food was. Looking forward to returning. Lastly the parking is a little tricky.

My niece’s 5th birthday party was held here. The food was cooked to perfection, catered to young and old, meat and non-meat eaters, halal, and service was prompt despite being very busy. The staff were accommodating, and patient with over a dozen 5 year olds! I would without a doubt visit again and book for any future events.

Last night we had what was arguably the best Italian cooked food we have ever tasted! From the fabulous starters, through to main course, the portions were just right and everything cooked to perfection along with very uniquely prepared/tasting sauces + our usual peppercorn sauce. Having used this restaurant for over 15 years, it is truly now what I consider to be the ultimate Italian food experience, along with a great atmosphere and great service. Had the goats cheese starter followed by a delicious pizza, the food is superb. Nice enough food but they have now removed all gluten-free pasta options from their menu. Didn't seem knowledgeable about allergens. It's a shame as I used to enjoy going here.

Visited for Mothers Day a treat from our daugher. My husband and I had a wonderful meal. Garlic bread and ribs to start. Ribs were delicious followed by Salmon and Chicken as our mains. Could not fault it cooked to perfection. Coffee,and sticky toffee pudding...
