Booked a table, arrived, it was closed.

Absolutely shocking service tonight for what was suppost to be a celebration meal, I have been before but after this occasion I won’t be coming back. Starters were over half an hour later and the calamari was undercooked. We were never asked how we were getting on once unlike the tables next us . Main meals were disappointing. We also had to ask for the bill twice and my partner was laughed at for complaining as we got up ourselves to pay at the counter with waiting to long.

I was served by the blonde girl, incredibly attentive and friendly. The prawn cocktail was served in a very traditional manner, with it being in a coupe glass, and a Marie Rose sauce on top. Sauce was tangy, and the prawns tasted fresh. I had seabass for my main, it was well cooked and reasonably priced, it could have been plated better though. The veg and potatoes too were seasoned well and very garlicky. The tiramisu was very enjoyable, and was well presented. £35 for three courses and a bottle of beer from the a la carte menu is an incredible bargain. The venue and the facilities were clean also.

Lovely selection of tapas; Italian style. One friend had seafood spaghetti.! It looked amazing. Would visit again! Friendly staff and not expensive.

Visited early evening, undoubtedly the best value meals we have had in a long time. The welcome, service and food quality were exemplary. Three of us had different meals and none of us had any complaints whatsoever and were astonished how reasonably priced they were. Full marks and please keep up your excellent work.

We've been twice since Verona reopened with new owner, menu and chef. 2 delicious dinners and outstanding genuine Italian hospitality and friendliness. Great service, interesting innovative menu, delicious food. A really enjoyable experience - highly recommended for great food in a lovely atmosphere.

The service was amazing and staff and owner were friendly too. The lunch deals are attractive and made the lunch affordable. The deep fried squid and pizza were above average but I do hope they would be more flavourful. The foods are worth the price and I will try other food next time. Lovely restaurant, you must try. My calzone was lacking filling. There appears to be too many staff, I counted 8 staff for not many covers in the restaurant. When the bill arrived we were over charged by £21 which was corrected upon my query. So please check your bill

We ate here last night and both the food and service were excellent. We had Arancini and calamari followed by lobster and crab ravioli and meatball penne. All dishes were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. We also had a bottle of red which was also good. Highly recommend based on our experience.

Extremely limited vegetarian options for an Italian place (eg the only non-meat pizza is a margarita) and service was very slow. I see that as a plus but would be annoying if you had places to be. Staff were nice and it has a good vibe, and prices are good.

Really lovely restaurant, great food. lovely welcome and atmosphere. plenty of customers arrived after us and it was obvious this is a popular place with regular locals visiting. --- I wanted to update my experience from my latest visit, the new menu is lovely. the new food is great. I really missed Stefano tonight. such a character. but it really does come down to the new head chef. he is producing excellent food. the arancini were well made, and very tasty. sorry i was simple and had the pizza verona, but it too was very tasty. i feel theres a change to the base from last time but still excellent. the house staff seem to be fi di g thier feet sometimes, but the house wine and limoncello were great. as for the photo... the rim on the coffee cup was all that I left... I think that speaks volumes.. ❤️

Went with a big group of people. Food was ordered before arriving but served at the table very late and burnt round the edges.

Top place to dine, authentic Italian food , laid back atmosphere. We've been here a few times now , enjoyed each visit. I recommend the costolette di maiale , that's Pork ribs in a barbecue sauce.

HIDDEN GEM! We happened to stumble by the restaurant whilst waiting for our train. There was a lunch time menu displayed outside so we thought we'd give it a go and we were not disappointed! The interior was very warm and welcoming, there were lovely features on the walls. We were seated on the quieter side of the restaurant so we had room for our little girls pram. The gent who waited on us was very friendly and I loved that he was speaking Italian from time to time. We got food from the lunch time menu offer. I always get minestrone soup when I go to Italian restaurants so I was over the moon when they had it as an option. I would say it is the best minestrone I have had at any restaurant and I've been to quite a lot all over the world. Our food was beautiful, well presented and there was plenty of it. We didn't realise when we came in it was close to closing time and the poor owner had to wait around for us, we only found out as we were leaving and he closed up after us. We both felt awful for having him wait, we'd have ate quicker had we known. That being said, he didn't rush us or pressure us at all. Lovely man. We will 100% be back, our new favourite Italian :)

More recent visit: My partner and I visited Verona midweek and had a wonderful time. We were both spoiled for choice with all the amazing sounding dishes on the menu. The man who owns the restaurant is very friendly with a great sense of humour. It was a nice touch when he came over to take our order. There aren't many tables so I'd recommend booking in advance as it always seems busy, and I can see why! Took my mother for Mother's Day. Phoned up on the day and they were able to fit us in at prime time immediately. Food was served quickly and tasted great for a very reasonable price. Would definitely go again.

This is an overall good restaurant. The focaccia is an absolute must, delicious. The veal was also good. Easy to find, friendly staff and a good price.

The dining room is loud and too hot, the decor is a bit dated. The service can be slow (1hr 30 for a lunch) and brusque (the waiter would walk away when we were still speaking). The food was ok - the pizza was a bit doughy. The vegetables were flabby and tasteless. I felt we were overcharged but didn't want to make a scene in front of my guest, so they may have rectified that if given the chance. Years ago we were regulars but I won't be visiting again. It's a tired restaurant that isn't very welcoming, doesn't serve particularly good food and is overpriced for the quality.

Been before and it's been much better than this last visit, food was just about average and portion sizes nowhere near the size they used to be, and considering I spent £370 I wasn't as impressed as I have been previously.

A very special place to me not just a restaurant but a weekly treat for my late grandfather! Thank you for the great food and most importantly the memories x

Great value two course meal. We visited on a Wednesday night with friends, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent. We even got to park outside on the street. We will be going again.

Had a fantastic Valentines dinner here, this is our 4th visit but by far this was the best, all the courses were excellent and the atmosphere on the evening was superb

Ate here at Verona after seeing it on ITV series called Ridley starring Adrian Dunbar, Great food, Great Service, Great Pint of Peroni, Friendly staff 5* I had Minestrone soup 🍲 to start(Was plain tasting, no flavour), Mrs had Garlic Mushrooms which she really enjoyed, For mains the Mrs had a Prawn dish(Which she really enjoyed) and I had beef cannelloni(It was amazing) and the Garlic bread was one of the best we had ever eaten. 5*

Food was excellent. The Chef has a huge reputation which is well deserved. May have to make this a regular visit

Fantastic restaurant with an authentic feel. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and humourous, the food is very nice with good portion sizes. The restaurant also offers take out which you can order ahead via the app if preferred. Highly recommend, the best Italian restaurant in Bury!

Beautiful pasta del casa, best pasta meal I have ever had. Lovely staff, great service, drinks are reasonably priced. All in all I would highly recommend Veronnas.

Nice friendly atmosphere waitresses could do with some more training regarding etiquette and front of house we ordered cocktails they were rubbish food took around 40 minutes to arrive food was ok but nothing special I could definitely do better myself that's it I'm all done

Best italian restaurant in bury area

Very poor quilty food. No soap in hand dispensers in both female and male toilets (unhygienic). Very surprised to read positive reviews. Maybe we were incredibly unlucky, but food was inedible and not cooked properly! Waste of money! I'll try Bella Italia next time and hope for better.

What a shame! After reading so many positive reviews, I couldn't wait to try this Italian. All I can say is, what a huge disappointment. We felt lucky they could accommodate us on the day (Saturday) at 17:45 as we hadn't made prior reservations. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese and my wife ordered the deep fried Camembert. It wasn't melted all the way through. My garlic bread just wasn't tasty. Wafer thin and greasy. Then the mains. My wife ordered a chicken pasta. The pasta was shop/supermarket bought. My wife even said she could have made it better herself. I ordered a Margherita it was BURNT to a cinder. When I tried to advise how overcooked it was to the waiter, wearing Italian flag coloured braces, he just said "well it's a Margherita". I'm sorry. As a pizza chef, if you burn it, you throw it away and start over! The cheese was black, like charcoal. Inedible. A reminder of what an Italian Margherita should look like. The Italian flag! Red, white and green (NOT CHARRED AND BLACK) Having spent many years in Italy, these cowboys bring shame to Italian food. Verona ended exactly how our very own playwright wrote it. A tragedy. "A plague on both your food and staff". I will never visit this place again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. To the waiter that thinks a Margherita should be burned? Return to Naples and research Queen Margherita. Basil/Oregano (green), Tomato sauce (red) Dough (white)... You've lost touch with your roots and are not doing Italy proud with this terrible food.

Found this place completly by chance while searching for food without a booking on a Saturday night ... When the doors opened it smelled devine 👌 We were greeted with by an extremely friendly manager ... Who miraculously managed to fit us in ... We had the most amazing meal the best tomatoe garlic bread I've ever had!!! A stunning king prawn linguine and my hubby had the cannelloni equally as good!!! I couldnt reccommend this restaurant more 10 out of 10 from us and we will be back thankyou so much Giuseppe a gentleman and an excellent manager !! Not forgetting the three lovely friendly waitresses

Went out for a last min date night and our first choices where closed so we tried Verona and wow we are so glad we went in. Cosy and old school Italian hospitality come to mind as we first entered. We had the broucheta apertizer , starters , canaloni and pizza as mains and you could taste it was all made in house, absolutely fantastic and fresh it was my wife's first negroni and very well made. The servers where brilliant felt so well cared fore I wish I got there names proper genuine Italian uncle's. I am normally sceptical of Italian restaurants as they are rather hit or miss and VERONA Bury is spot on. The price for the quality is exceptional thank you very much we will be back for our next Italian fix. Grazie Again 😊
