The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

From when we arrived it all felt very rushed. Starters no sooner finished than main course arrived. Starter was calamari which was as chewy as a car tyre. Lobster ravioli arrived and 8 pieces of ravioli and that was it husband was still hungry when we left. Very noisy. Have been before and enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back after this experience

Great atmosphere, good selection of beer. Food also looked good, will be back to try it.

One of our favourite restaurants in Newcastle. Food is perfect and service is exceptional, what more do you want? Go try it.

A lovely meal last night. The lamb special was so tender and delicious. The calzone was also incredible. Would highly recommend!!!

The staff were friendly and did a pretty good job at keeping glasses filled up and asking if we needed anything. The food was very nice, kids potions are BIG. It's a shame they didn't have a hard copy of the kids menus, but the lady was able to explain everything they had. The food came out efficiently and well presented. They allow you to bring in a birthday cake, and they sang happy birthday to my brother. The drinks were a bit expensive. However I would recommend it.

Honestly, been visiting Rudy's now for 8 years since the Ancoats early days... It never disappoints. Chorlton's branch is cosy and pleasant. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is amazing. You simply won't get better pizza Please don't change.

We visited La Famiglia for an evening meal whilst staying nearby in Warkworth and having had a recommendation from the nextdoor neighbour at our house. First impressions were not fantastic...I'd rung to make a booking for 6.30 and been told I could have a table at 7, so I expected to arrive at a busy restaurant. It wasn't at all. Then I was told the card machine wasn't working and we'd need to pay with cash. Not a major issue as there's a cash machine across the road, but... This is where the negatives end though. The service was excellent throughout our meal and the food was spot on. Bruschetta, calamari and caprese salad were delicious starters, lovely and fresh. The main courses continued in a similar vein - my daughter's calzone was tasty and very generously filled and the pasta dishes we ordered were top notch! My seafood fettuccine was so tasty, with a lovely chilli heat and was packed full of mussels, squid and prawns. We were too full to try the desserts so can't comment on them, but I can definitely say we will return next time we are in the area!

When we go abroad we look for Italian restaurants... in London we found Marcello who has been managing this restaurant for about 20 years... we, who know and love Sardinia, here we found authentic and excellent quality products (oil, pecorino, ricotta, carasau bread....) Thank you for letting us breathe the scent of your beloved land and thanks also to Lio who made us some amazing bruschetta.!!

We have visited the Trattoria quite a few times, always made to feel welcome, staff and owner on the ball. 🍽🍽

Great food and drinks been here twice now. lovely atmosphere. However 2 young waitresses at the bar as we left were really rude and no customer service skills at all but the rest of the staff were great

Family meal, Very good service , wines by the glass and ales, non alcoholic options. Pizza options for vegetarians too Salads and dressings freshly made Sharing platters , the antipasto was very good value Highly recommended

An absolute gem. Wonderful food, great atmosphere and a very through wine list. I've never had a bad meal here! Yes it's a bit expensive but it's worth it. Quality ingredients and superbly cooked!

What a charming place .. olde worlde building but modern food .. fantastic service led by front of house Tariq who was amazing with our special needs daughter . First class tasty food .. we’ll be back for sure

Amazing service and lovely food . Was served by Seymour who was amazing and very friendly. Great price for a local Italian and we attended over Easter weekend. Would reccomend this place to anyone attending.
