Clean and friendly environment, however staff at first attentive and then after food was served absent until we stood up to leave, no interest in asking Whether our food was ok or not. food wasnt very appealing, quite bland certainly not something to look forward to. Coffee wasnt bad, milkshake was ok. No music and no heating. Food description for a particular starter wasn't very accurate as it described it as mini pizzas but it was more like big deep friend but unsweet donut batter with a seperate bowl of pretty much cold chopped tomatoes. For somewhere that has an authentic pizza oven nothing was very authentic. Also saw the workers bringing frozen food in from Iceland.

I felt we were somewhat ignored, despite initially being the only people there. Service took quite some time, although our waiters were polite. The pasta came without any seasoning, purely tomato and pasta, very disappointing. My friend who ordered a different dish found theirs bland as well. I hate to leave bad reviews but I feel this place has so much potential to be better! Would unfortunately not eat here again.

Very quiet for a drizzly Friday. So we were happy to have the place to ourselves. We enjoyed our meals and a bottle of wine. Very inexpensive and pretty tasty. We will often have their pizzas to takeaway.

Insanely tasty and well priced food, catered well for vegans too, I ordered a funghi pizza with vegan cheese!! At a reasonable price of £9.50. Authentic tasty Italian food 😋

In a street that doesn't need any more pizza, Sasso provides...more pizza. The product is a step above the Papa Johns and Food App (who still have their place if you are after 15" monsters and meal deals) and on a par with Colosseo across the road (who you would probably choose if you wanted a dignified sit-down meal with wine). They have shoehorned themselves into a niche that no-one knew was there and deservedly take a place on our local takeaway rotation.

Family birthday for a 3 yr old they were lovely showing her a lot of commitment even having a cd of nursery rhymes that theyplayed in the background to keep us all amused. The pizza are one of the best I have hadfor a long time. Mine had next to no crust toppings right to the edge. Certainly go back or ordera take away.

Have ordered from Sassos plenty of times and the pizzas have always been amazingly good! However, last night’s was awful! I ordered a Margarita and it has barely any tomato on it. My son had chicken and sweetcorn, again very disappointing with very little filling. Won’t use them again :(

I'm sorry to say that I was a bit sceptical about Sasso's and it was only because my family kept telling me it was so good that I gave in and came along. The location on Boundary Road doesn't exactly lend itself to great restaurants but Sasso's in the exception. It was fantastic and the best pizza I've had. The service was great, staff were friendly and we weren't rushed at all, the pizzas were amazing (so good I didn't even get a chance to take photos as we all tucked in immediately) and the desert was summed up for me in 2 words; Homemade Tiramisu! So I'm sorry for judging you before I came Sasso's, and I hope you remain where you are for a long time as having an amazing pizza restaurant like yours so local to me is great!! Highly recommended to everyone that either likes Pizza or lives in Portslade, or if you like both it's a no brainer!

The pizzas were delicious but with three different pizzas that we tried to order, they had run out of one of the main ingredients. I wasn't that keen on what they had substituted with. Delicious tiramisu too, but could definitely have eaten it on my own despite it saying that it was to share. I came here the month before with some friends and had a Margherita just to see if they did it well and it was amazing - plus the pesto aioli dip is incredible.

Never delivered. No answer on phone. Waited over an hour for nothing.

I order from Sasso forest 2 years and I always put great reviews because I loves it! But today? I have no cheese, no mozzarella. I even checked my order. I didn't check pizza when I picked it up cuz I never had a reason to complain.

whe are looking for coffee and found SASSO PIZZA what a great people , the owner is a nice guy aswell his wive, but not only nice the food whas super , whe eat there 3 days , whe are from Holland, and the owner take time to speak with usand served crossaint and carrotcake for my wive i can only say super

The pizza is always fantastic, but it tastes even better now that they've left Deliveroo and their countless fees! Definitely up there with VIP and all the other big places, if not better.

What a treat SASSO provides, don't be fooled by the name - they've plenty other original and beautiful dishes, We had to have the full 3 courses! Calamari was light and crispy, Mixed seafood pasta dish was finished in seconds and obviously the favourite.. The pizza! Being a pizza chef for 5 years prior I can say this scored 11/10.

Really sad to say that this was a let down. Wanted to lovethis place as it was so close. Ordered on their website scheduled to come for 8pm as I had an appointment and we were looking forward to trying this place out. Got a call at 715 whilst at the appointment saying they had arrived. I explained I scheduled it for 8. The guy on the phone was pretty aggressive but didn’t think much of it. 8pm came, it turned up, stone cold. Cheese has all gone hard. Couldn’t get hold of the restaurant. Called the driver whom had called me previously, very aggressive again. My boyfriend was so annoyed he ended up having to go down there to speak to someone to get a refund. Barely an apology. It was also extremely quiet in the restaurant so I struggled to understand why if you had messed up the timings why you wouldn’t re -cook it? It was just baffling. I really wanted to love this place having just moved here, disappointed. If this is because of a fault of the website then this needs to be fixed as well as general attitude of drivers.

Our boss buys us lunch sometimes and I'm so pleased that there is Sasso Pizza nearby, we live in Kemptown and like Wildflour pizza but they have less accessible hours and don't come this far away for delivery. We want to have a dine in experience at Sasso soon! Delicious dough, high quality ingredients unless you're a stuffed crust domino's type you'll love this!

Beyond terrible service. Three times we’ve ordered from Sasso the order has been wrong - the same mistake with the order every time. Delivery is consistently significantly late. Beyond frustrating that the service is unfailingly terrible, as the pizzas are good. Avoid.

Went on Monday evening with my family. Amazing pizza, great beer, but above all, fantastic service. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the neighbourhood.

We treated a family in need to a pizza supper yesterday. I chose Sasso, having read the excellent reviews on their gluten free bases, and wasn't disappointed - my Truffle white gluten free pizza was delicious! Everyone loved their pizzas... Thank you for helping us put a smile on their faces!

Was surprised by how good the gluten-free crust was and the vegan options are really great as well. So hard to find places that cater to my normal meat-eating boyfriend and my gluten/free vegan self! We were both very happy with our pizzas, can’t complain. Definitely will order again ! New favourite :)

Tasty pizza, vegan alternatives, fast delivery, good price.

First time order was great. Second time was so so but still ok. Third order was bad but the customer service even worse. Sadly no more ordering from Sasso. Pizza was delivered cold, big pieces of crunchy garlic and even found an end of tomato (the hard green bit) on a pizza. The dough felt slimy and definitely undercooked where all ingredients just fall off. Fails happen but the person on the phone was extremely rude and didn’t really work with us to find a solution and didn’t even offer refund. 2 bites in and sadly this pizza is going in the bin. If I could add photos I would.

Took way over an hour and a half to deliver three pizzas. They arrived cold and soggy as well.

Great pizza. Good knowledge on how to make the dough and stretch it. The way it’s managed and cooked in the oven is really nice too, where you get the smokiness in the dough and the slight char on the outside, giving it that perfect taste

We live in London, but every time we visit Brighton we have pizza at Sasso. Lovely light and thin base, fresh ingredients. It's awesome. Our favourite pizzeria for sure 👌

It was a brilliant evening out at sasso pizza after first lockdown for my niece birthday such a friendly environment good environment for all food is on point 👌

Highly recommend. Suits my antipodean gluten free tastes perfectly. The capricciosa has nice chunks of artichoke and although sometimes Deliveroo to Brighton means a less than piping hot pizza, it becomes perfect again after a few in the oven. I'm told the "normal" dough capricciosa is as good as you'd get in Naples, by someone Italian in nature.

Paper thin authentic pizza of napoli. Absolutely insane, will be coming to visit again. Friendly staff and 10/10 pizza strongly recommend.

Have to echo other reviewers here. This is the best pizza place in the area, at present. Friendly and efficient service and fantastic food.

PERFECTION truly the best pizza in Brighton area, and perhaps in all the region. The dough is so light with a fragrant crust, the tomato sauce base is so well balanced and the toppings are prime quality (not from the tin). The price I think is too low for this quality standards. Highly recommended, it is a no-brainer!

Ordered a pizza from Sasso on my lunch break yesterday, have to say that it’s one of the best pizzas I have had in a long time, definitely will be ordering one again soon. Keep up the good work!!

Good fun. Went at lunch time in the hope to just get a slice (they only do full pizzas) but the menu was so interesting we ended up with a few different things. The deep fried Mac n cheese balls were so tasty. I did order something else but I was misheard but that's okay I'm happy with what I ended up with. Would go again. Keen to try the ham and smoked cheese pizza next 😋

Ordered takeaway pizzas to collect through JustEat. I had the Sasso Special which is the classic Parma ham, rocket and Parmesan combo. The Parma ham was better quality than usual and the special also has a whole burrata thrown on top which is a nice touch. The base is the key for me and this was one of the best I have had in the UK. Plumped up round the edges and crispy underneath with a great flavour and bite. These guys are definitely in the running for best Pizza in Brighton and Hove at the moment. Five stars, would recommend 100%

We had a last minute meal at Sasso, and the pizzas and sides were delicious! Great service and lovely environment. We will be ordering takeaway during lockdown for sure!
