Sasso Pizza in Brighton and Hove

We shared a bottle of wine. We both had pizza. Probably the best pizza I have ever had. Very friendly staff and good food and wine at a good price. Highly recommended when in the area. Have told my friends about it.

Unfriendly staff who got our order wrong, blamed us even though it was their fault, refused to put it right. Abusive experience. Taking it further.

Ordered takeaway the other night from these guys and they initially got our pizza wrong, however were quick to sort it out and sent us a free replacement pizza which was delicious. The guys were really friendly and service was quick, great place

Noisy restaurant, unpleasant grumpy woman cooking pizzas. Loud music for the benefit of the two female staff, not their customers. My "Healthy Breakfast Platter" consisted of small portions of smoked salmon, one scrambled egg, half a small avocado with rotten black bits in it and some cherry tomatoes,plus a tiny portion of mushroom. It came with 2 small slices of sourdough and fake margarine butter. All carefully spread across the platter to make it look generous. However, my partner enjoyed his egg and bacon sarnie. We will not be returning, mainly because of the unfriendly and grumpy woman who made us feel unwelcome and like we were a nuisance. Portslade could really do with some nice cafés with a bit of atmosphere and style. This place definitely does not offer either.

First time here eating, had spaghetti bolonaise, was so much sauce more than the spaghetti, had me up all night in the toilet . Don't go there .

My husband and I have been loyal customers at Sasso for years, but our recent experience was awful. We ordered two pizzas to take away and paid extra for added cheese. When we collected and saet down to eat them, my pizza had no cheese despite the extra charge. When we called, the staff were defensive and rude, questioning the charge and making excuses about their usual process and being in a hurry. There was no apology, just deflection and a suggestion we should have called the restaurant for added extras instead of ordering online. Customers should expect to receive the extras they pay for, especially since these changes can be due to specific dietary requirements. This incident has shaken our confidence that special requests will be honored. They promised a refund for the extra cheese, but we haven't received it. This lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable and has left us questioning whether we will return.

Very friendly staff, served us even though it was their closing time and the food was amazing We had pizza and pasta highly recomended.

I had a really nice Gluten free pizza last nice and I can throughly recommend it. Staff very friendly too.

Clean and friendly environment, however staff at first attentive and then after food was served absent until we stood up to leave, no interest in asking Whether our food was ok or not. food wasnt very appealing, quite bland certainly not something to look forward to. Coffee wasnt bad, milkshake was ok. No music and no heating. Food description for a particular starter wasn't very accurate as it described it as mini pizzas but it was more like big deep friend but unsweet donut batter with a seperate bowl of pretty much cold chopped tomatoes. For somewhere that has an authentic pizza oven nothing was very authentic. Also saw the workers bringing frozen food in from Iceland.

I felt we were somewhat ignored, despite initially being the only people there. Service took quite some time, although our waiters were polite. The pasta came without any seasoning, purely tomato and pasta, very disappointing. My friend who ordered a different dish found theirs bland as well. I hate to leave bad reviews but I feel this place has so much potential to be better! Would unfortunately not eat here again.

Super pizza lots of flavor great taste

Very quiet for a drizzly Friday. So we were happy to have the place to ourselves. We enjoyed our meals and a bottle of wine. Very inexpensive and pretty tasty. We will often have their pizzas to takeaway.

Insanely tasty and well priced food, catered well for vegans too, I ordered a funghi pizza with vegan cheese!! At a reasonable price of £9.50. Authentic tasty Italian food 😋

In a street that doesn't need any more pizza, Sasso provides...more pizza. The product is a step above the Papa Johns and Food App (who still have their place if you are after 15" monsters and meal deals) and on a par with Colosseo across the road (who you would probably choose if you wanted a dignified sit-down meal with wine). They have shoehorned themselves into a niche that no-one knew was there and deservedly take a place on our local takeaway rotation.

Excellent pizza, arrived hot. Nice crispy but soft crust and amazing flavour.

Family birthday for a 3 yr old they were lovely showing her a lot of commitment even having a cd of nursery rhymes that theyplayed in the background to keep us all amused. The pizza are one of the best I have hadfor a long time. Mine had next to no crust toppings right to the edge. Certainly go back or ordera take away.

Have ordered from Sassos plenty of times and the pizzas have always been amazingly good! However, last night’s was awful! I ordered a Margarita and it has barely any tomato on it. My son had chicken and sweetcorn, again very disappointing with very little filling. Won’t use them again :(

I'm sorry to say that I was a bit sceptical about Sasso's and it was only because my family kept telling me it was so good that I gave in and came along. The location on Boundary Road doesn't exactly lend itself to great restaurants but Sasso's in the exception. It was fantastic and the best pizza I've had. The service was great, staff were friendly and we weren't rushed at all, the pizzas were amazing (so good I didn't even get a chance to take photos as we all tucked in immediately) and the desert was summed up for me in 2 words; Homemade Tiramisu! So I'm sorry for judging you before I came Sasso's, and I hope you remain where you are for a long time as having an amazing pizza restaurant like yours so local to me is great!! Highly recommended to everyone that either likes Pizza or lives in Portslade, or if you like both it's a no brainer!

The pizzas were delicious but with three different pizzas that we tried to order, they had run out of one of the main ingredients. I wasn't that keen on what they had substituted with. Delicious tiramisu too, but could definitely have eaten it on my own despite it saying that it was to share. I came here the month before with some friends and had a Margherita just to see if they did it well and it was amazing - plus the pesto aioli dip is incredible.

Unfortunately I ordered a Hawaiian pizza ( ham and pineapple) with additional mushrooms but all I got was a pizza with mushrooms. The ham and pineapple was missing I ate it anyway as I have to go out It was very nice

Delivered by a Just Eat driver. 3 pizzas delivered on their side. All the topping slid off the pizzas. Not happy. Just Eat driver took no responsibility. Called Sasso. Again did not want to take responsibility. Blaming Just Eat. You need to contact them etc etc. Actually I just want a pizza that has toppings on! Would not resend because Just Eat delivered. A joke whole order over £50? Still waiting for a call back from them......Just Eat have refunded straight away but not really the point. My appetite has gone! Btw ordered from here a few times before and always been good. Shame.

This is the worst pizza we have ever had. The base was soggy and undercooked and the toppings slid off into the middle of the box. It was lukewarm. Disgusting. Even my laid back partner complained and he never complains about anything. Avoid avoid avoid

Never delivered. No answer on phone. Waited over an hour for nothing.

I order from Sasso forest 2 years and I always put great reviews because I loves it! But today? I have no cheese, no mozzarella. I even checked my order. I didn't check pizza when I picked it up cuz I never had a reason to complain.

It's our second visit as we love their calamari and pizza. Tried their chick in peppercorn sauce as well, chick was so succulent, very nice creamy sauce. All the staff were so friendly, will definitely come again, could try their pasta as well :-)

The pizza is always fantastic, but it tastes even better now that they've left Deliveroo and their countless fees! Definitely up there with VIP and all the other big places, if not better.

Really decent high quality pizza and pasta. A rare and welcome thing when there are so many sub standard “Italian” places here.

What a treat SASSO provides, don't be fooled by the name - they've plenty other original and beautiful dishes, We had to have the full 3 courses! Calamari was light and crispy, Mixed seafood pasta dish was finished in seconds and obviously the favourite.. The pizza! Being a pizza chef for 5 years prior I can say this scored 11/10.

After an hour and a half of awaiting for our delivery to arrive, It stated on my just eat account that it was delivered which it had not been. I then called the restaurant who were clearly familiar with this issue and just stated that they would make the order now, the order had then arrived after nearly 2 hours which is significantly longer than expected, alongside this it was cold. I am highly unsatisfied and no apology was given.

It's been two hours and the food hasn't arrived

The pizza was definitely not as good as lady time. I paid for an extra which was barely there.

No coffee as machine was broken, but great meal, good service and tasty beer.

Really sad to say that this was a let down. Wanted to lovethis place as it was so close. Ordered on their website scheduled to come for 8pm as I had an appointment and we were looking forward to trying this place out. Got a call at 715 whilst at the appointment saying they had arrived. I explained I scheduled it for 8. The guy on the phone was pretty aggressive but didn’t think much of it. 8pm came, it turned up, stone cold. Cheese has all gone hard. Couldn’t get hold of the restaurant. Called the driver whom had called me previously, very aggressive again. My boyfriend was so annoyed he ended up having to go down there to speak to someone to get a refund. Barely an apology. It was also extremely quiet in the restaurant so I struggled to understand why if you had messed up the timings why you wouldn’t re -cook it? It was just baffling. I really wanted to love this place having just moved here, disappointed. If this is because of a fault of the website then this needs to be fixed as well as general attitude of drivers.

Our boss buys us lunch sometimes and I'm so pleased that there is Sasso Pizza nearby, we live in Kemptown and like Wildflour pizza but they have less accessible hours and don't come this far away for delivery. We want to have a dine in experience at Sasso soon! Delicious dough, high quality ingredients unless you're a stuffed crust domino's type you'll love this!

Beyond terrible service. Three times we’ve ordered from Sasso the order has been wrong - the same mistake with the order every time. Delivery is consistently significantly late. Beyond frustrating that the service is unfailingly terrible, as the pizzas are good. Avoid.

We treated a family in need to a pizza supper yesterday. I chose Sasso, having read the excellent reviews on their gluten free bases, and wasn't disappointed - my Truffle white gluten free pizza was delicious! Everyone loved their pizzas... Thank you for helping us put a smile on their faces!
