The food was amazing, the staff here would supply you with whatever your need, and have really good recommendations. The food is as close as to italian food as you can get. Would come to this place again and again.

BEST pasta outside of Rome and the quality of the food is wonderful. Absolutely amazing food and service is just as amazing! The photos don’t do it justice. Everything was freshly made and the pizza is one of the best we’ve ever had. Recommend this place so highly for anyone wanting a real taste of Italy and great quality food with some of the best service we’ve ever had as well…thank you Michelangelo! Already looking forward to coming back soon.

We are an Italian family on holiday. the pizza was quite good but it is served on wooden cutting boards so keep up hygiene. The pasta that was served to the children defined as Neapolitan was practically inedible, in fact unfortunately they were unable to touch it. the best Italian food in Nottingham is written on Google... probably those who reviewed before us don't have an Italian palate like us. Too bad because I had good expectations.

I had a marvellous time at this restaurant! The Saliciccia was lovely, although I wish I had ordered the Piquante instead. I am glad I did have the Dessert Special Calzone (see image)! The Nutella, mascapone and fruits went very well together! Thank you again!

I visited Solo Grano and found it to be a charming place overall. Despite awarding only three stars, I appreciated several aspects of the experience. The restaurant exudes a cosy atmosphere, characterised by its clean and tidy surroundings. The dining area, although quite tight and on the first floor, is decorated nicely, creating a pleasant ambience for diners. One notable downside was that we were served in Segafredo vending paper cups, which detracted from the dining experience. This decision felt out of place for a sit-down restaurant, hense why I deducted one star. Additionally, being asked to pay before being served was quite unusual and not in line with my expectations for a full-service restaurant. Typically, I prefer the convenience of keeping a tab and receiving the bill at the end of the meal. This prepayment approach cost the restaurant another star in my rating. On a positive note, the gentleman who served us was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which greatly enhanced our visit. We ordered both pizzas and pasta. The pasta was amazing, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The pizzas, however, were a bit lacking in toppings. While I understand that traditionally Italian-style pizzas are thin, which is not my personal preference, they were still very tasty and amazingly good. The meal for three was reasonably priced, aligning well with our expectations, so I wouldn't consider Solo Grano to be expensive. One standout aspect was the expresso; it was the best I've had in the UK, which is a significant plus for coffee enthusiasts. Overall, Solo Grano has a lot of potential, but certain aspects like the paper cups and prepayment policy need réévaluation to enhance the dining experience. Solo Grano is still a place to return.

Do not recommend. Thought it would be a restaurant it is definitely more of a takeaway place, waiter was nice but food was pretty bad, pasta was raw and crunchy, pizzas were soggy.

As an italian myself i can confirm their pizzas are authentic and delicious. The coffee was also the one you get at an italian bar. I highly recommend this place for pizza and the staff is friendly. Also thanks to Michelangelo for the coffee on the house.

We had one Di Pollo and Prosciutto Di Parma. It was the delicious Pasta & Pizza I’ve had after a long time I would say. Vibe was so Italian and I would definitely come back to this place again.

I have been to a lot of restaurants around the city of Nottingham and I can say that Solo Grano it's one of the best I've been. Is a must to visit, they have a different variety of vegetarian and vegan options!!

Very glad i decided to lunch here, i cant believe i never been in solo grano while living in notts more than 3years! Will be regular definitely portion was so huge and truly filling. Customer service was wonderful very friendly staff, Cant recommend enough!!!!

Quite frankly the meal I had was superb. The pasta Alfredo is the best I've had in UK. And the garlic pizza bread was outstanding. Very reasonably priced too. Recommended!

We went in the afternoon and asked to sit upstairs, where there were only empty tables and no customers at that moment. It was just me and another person. After 5-10 minutes, when the waiter came to take our order of one pizza, two cold drinks, and a coffee, we were informed that we needed to order at least two items from the food menu to sit upstairs, which we hadn't been told initially. Since we were not particularly hungry and wanted to share just one pizza, we decided to leave. I must note that the upstairs seating area was not particularly clean and felt more like a canteen. We just wanted to sit on normal chairs instead of bar stools. Additionally, downstairs, there were leftovers from previous customers everywhere. Given the Greek(I think) background of the people who own or run the place, I had higher expectations for better hospitality. Overall, it was a disappointing and unwelcoming experience. We walk past this shop nearly every day and thought to give it a try instead of going to our usual place, but their attitude did not convince us to return.

love the outdoor seating here! also ive tried 4 of the pastas and you can completely customise the pizza. a few times the pizza was cooked for a tiny bit too long hence why i gave 4 but it is genuinely so nice id give a 4.5 instead if i could. also we did sit inside once and the music was super loud and it was playing club music 😭 defo sit outside or downstairs if u come here

I was at this restaurant 2 days ago, I tried the gluten-free option of di pollo pasta and the flavor and flavor were wonderful. Incredible service from a guy who spoke a little Spanish. I went back today and ordered a carbonara, with add of chicken on the side. service by a skinny guy. The food arrived in 2 minutes with a very watery white cream, horrible taste. I asked about the carbonara that I had ordered and he said that they didn't make the recipes like in Italy, because according to him "British people like sauce food” and that the recipe their carbonara were like that. the potion was half the first time. I asked if the pasta was gluten free as I had asked for and paid for it and he said yes and said: you got what you ordered. Well, it was just time to get home and start vomiting. That was my experience there.

Been eating somewhat regularly here for the best part of 3 years now with the use of deliveroo and Uber eats too. Some of the best Italian food in notts and such a good range of pastas! Highly recommend going

Solo Grano is an Italian food restaurant in City Centre of Nottingham, UK. Aubergine pasta (veg), Dipollo pasta (chicken) and Napoletana pizza (veg) were delicious and a different variety in a city full of English cafes and American foods. People get to relish Italian cuisine at moderate prices. We all simply loved being there for a change.

Booked a table for 24 drunken Scots on a stag do last weekend and we had a great time. Michaelangelo and his staff could not be more helpful, making sure all the orders were taken care of and pointing us to the shop next door for a quick beer order. The food was incredible and at a great price. Everyone left happy and if any of us are ever in Nottingham again we will definitely visit this hidden gem again!

Garlic mushrooms from the Starters is a must try. Yummy Al Fungi was delicious

The pizzas provided by Solo Grano are quite outstanding, giving good value for money. Freshly made with generous toppings. The server we had was trying hard to build a rapport with all the customers. We ordered a starter og bread and olives but unfortunately the pizzas arrived long before the 'starter'. To the server's credit, he offered a refund, but we accepted the starter as a take out, not wanting to cause a fuss. Please do not bother ordering the bread and olives as it consists of four small pieces of garlic bread and a little tub of thinly sliced black olives...would have needed a spoon to eat them! Do go to Solo Grano for pizza because they very good! This is the reason for rating the food with five stars.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out and I finally got to! All i can say is I wish I had visited sooner! The service was amazing. Waiter let us choose where we wanted to sit, gave us enough time to choose. You pay before receiving the meals which I like as it allows you to eat at your own pace. Food was super nice. You could tell everything from the pasta to the sauces were fresh. We had the Smoked Aubergine pasta (you can choose from 3 different types of pasta, I had tagliatelle), the BBQ Chicken Pizza and Garlic Bread. It was truly nice and I would 100% recommend and I will be visiting again!

Food was amazing! So so good and authentically Italian, you can just tell. Coffee and customer service were also excellent. Should really be rating 4 stars because there was a real issue with cleanliness, the cutlery we had laid out had food residue on it, the tables had not been cleaned in ages (specks of dust and food in the ridges) and the general interior of the venue felt unfinished and unclean. However, the food just about justified it all.

We've eaten here three times now, most recently this last Saturday. We've found you need to book, at least at peak times (eg weekends/evenings) as there is not a massive amount of seating and they are usually at full capacity. The pastas are the best here for us, this time we had napoletana and Di pollo which were both really flavourful with lovely fresh pasta. We've always found service quick and the prices very reasonable - really recommend

Food was good, service was terrible. Got our food half an hour after the party who ordered just before me got theirs (we were both a 2 and ordered the same thing). No apology for being slow, missed addition to my order, but given it was so late I just ate and left. If the service was better I'd come here again, but as it stands I wouldn't recommend it.
