The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

Rude staff asked us if we wanted any more drinks before the bar closed so we ordered a bottle of wine. Half an hour later they told us we weren't allowed to drink the wine as they were closed🤷🏻‍♀️ Also weren't allowed to sit outside to drink the bottle of wine they had let us buy.

I dined mid week with my mum, I had voucher (2nd main for 99p) Great service from Donata, warm, friendly and chatty. I had the burrata starter, which was delicious and then the burger which tasted great! Lovely table and we had a lovely time. Thanks

Christmas party was a blast at this place. I usually come here for the lunch with my clients as it's always prompt and the food on point but never came in a big group. They were great , kept us entertained and the drinks were blowing. the food was again great and Dani was great .We might have been a bit too jolly at the end

Visited this restaurant on 06/02/2025,the waiter/manager was totally overwhelming and his interaction with customers was pathetic.The minestrone soup was the worst I have tasted but to be fair the pizzas were better,not a very pleasant evening could not wait to pay the bill and leave.This restaurant has gone down hill and I will not be back

Bland and uninspiring. Expensive too. Used to be excellent when small portions were offered for a good price and you could have a few to make a tasty lunch. Lasagne I had was just mush with no discernible layers of pasta and very bland. Items have been dropped from the menu, but the the menu has not been reprinted, so when you order you are told, “we don’t do that anymore” well, reprint the up to date menu then!

We ate here on our second evening in Ayr following a recommendation by the owner of the guest house where we were staying. Seating is very comfortable and the restaurant is quite spacious. There’s a full menu of primarily Italian dishes with a good selection of pasta dishes and pizzas. The lasagne and pasta carbonara were very tasty along with a risotto dish. Service was very good…friendly and professional and despite being busy, staff were very observant. There’s a very large bar serving a particular good selection of cocktails. We thought prices were about average for the area and we enjoyed the experience of eating here.

Food quality was really good and our order was processed quite quickly. Disappointed to find extra items on our bill when paying, really left a sour taste. Check your bill before paying!

We came here as a party of 9 for birthday. I’m glad I had a jumper on, this restaurant is cold! Food was nice, waitresses were lovely, but was too cold for me.

Terrible comida y mal servicio. La peor comida en 3 semanas en Reino Unido. Esta solía ser una de nuestras visitas a lugares en Londres, pero la calidad de la comida es terrible ahora. El servicio era casi inexistente y, para colmo, añaden una tasa de servicio del 15 %. Nunca volveré a comer en este lugar de nuevo y absolutamente no recomendaría a nadie.

¡Oh Dios! ¿Qué le ha pasado a Nonna's - el ir - a un lugar para comida decente y un gran servicio? Fue a una cena de cumpleaños con amigos. Llegamos tarde (culpa mía) pero las primeras palabras que el maitre d' pronunció no fueron 'Bienvenido' sino 'Tienes suerte de que no regalé tu mesa'. Entonces no se toma ninguna orden durante 30 minutos. Un montón de mesas gratuitas por lo que no había necesidad de actuar como si fueran clientes asediados golpeando las ventanas. La comida estaba bien, pero muy caro para lo que se podía reunir mejor en casa. Ahorra dinero y vete a otro lado.

Very happy about lunch today. We tried king prawns in tomato and chilli sauce, followed by honey chicken special and chicken cordon bleu. Squeezed in a shared portion of tiramisu. Delighted today. Lovely staff too.

Had been here a few times in the past but not for a good few years, we had always enjoyed the food in the past but standards have slipped badly. I had the Parfait di pollo to start and it was the worst pate I have ever had, could not even finish it as it was so ba, I then had the Hawaiian pizza which which had an unusual taste and was nothing special, my wife said her meal was okay but bland. The floor and our table were covered in crumbs and we were there at evening opening time so that must have been left since lunchtime, disgusting! The service was nothing very special either and was if they couldn't be bothered. Also quite expensive making it a worse experience so we won't be back as there are plenty of other proper delicious Italian restaurants to go to.

I visited as a family of 6. For a place like Frankie and Benny's you don't expect to get fine dining quality food, which I feel some people expect. I was expecting decent food that costs what I pay for it and that's what I got.I ordered the Garlic mushrooms on bruschetta for starter and a penne arrabiata for main with a side of Garlic Pizza bread. The starter was very good, very tasty and good level of seasoning. The main was quite simple, spicy enough, could maybe have done with more seasoning. The garlic pizza bread side was a little undercooked and doughy but nonetheless it was enjoyed by my party. I got Tiramisu for dessert which was plentiful and rich. Though our waitress was incredibly polite and attentive, one thing I did find odd was that my 21 year-old brother did get Id'd by the waitress for a beer, despite there being his 2 older parents next to him. I believe it isn't illegal for a person of 16 or older to have a drink with a meal as long as they are accompanied by someone 18 or older so when this happened I was a little confused.We used the 33% off voucher code which nicely took £20 off of our bill. When you truly took into perspective what youre paying for in terms of food quality and service it adds up, I will definitely visit again with my family.

Quick, tasty, decently priced and served with a smile! I don’t ask for much - but Frankie & Bennys, Lincoln tick every box and pass with flying colours. Ok - the food isn’t sensational, but for what it is, it does superbly. Free refills on coffee and tea which you barely have to ask for as our waiter took care of us enough to ask when our cups looked empty. Perhaps the overly generous score is to combat the harsh reviews below - this is not a bad place to eat! And I come here enough to know that. I have the three egg omelette with different fillings each time to try them out!
