All perfect food is incredible got a spaghetti bolognaise I think and it was great!!

Would give 0 stars if possible. Tried to order through Just Eat, said the wait would be 40 minutes. They kept changing the delivery time and it went on and on until they finally said it would be delivered at 22:15 And I'd had enough. I ordered at 19.15!! Yes it was a Saturday night, but do not take orders of you can't commit to them?! My order was not complicated. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept delaying hoping I would cancel the order and not be able to leave a review on Just Eat, rather than be professional, ring and cancel themselves with an apology and admit fault. I will not use this terrible restaurant ever and would advise you to do the same if you want to be respected and treated well.

Popped in on the off chance of some food and looking in, it was extremely busy and didnt think we would get a table. We explained, we just wanted eat and leave, so the front of house, (Lyndsey?), found us a table. We ordered a starter and a main with drinks and they all came pretty quickly. Which we didnt mind as we had somewhere we needed to go and we were very appreciative of a table at short notice, despite being busy ( mainly students) The food, was hot and as we have eaten in Zizzi before, it never disappoints and was delicious. And always tastes freshly prepared Staff were very friendly and polite at the Durham restaurant. I would always recommend going here. Its simple,tasty food and you know what you're getting. We have never been disappointed eating here, we can both highly recommend eating here and will be back.

Lovely staff, easy to get a table, no long wait. The food was nice and Summer was a great waitress.

Popped in the other day, and just to say the food was amazing, could not fault it. I also got waited on by Stewart. Gived me some good recommendations for food and drinks, always had a smile on his face and made sure everything was all good. He is a great waiter at this spot. Definitely back again in future.

Absolutely incredible, I’m blown away with the amazing service we were provided by the one and only summer walker! Her posture was amazing, very professional and well put together. She made us giggle throughout our meal especially when we asked for some salt/pepper and she whipped them out her pocketed and shouted “taddah!” And made us all clap for her. We were all giddy. Definitely recommend amazing food and service.

Always been a fan of Zizzi and was in the area so thought I’d try it. Had a very enjoyable time, Stuart went above and beyond to ensure we had everyone we needed and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to help us out. A throughly enjoyable time.

Just got back from Zizi’s and I think I’m still dreaming about the food… or maybe it’s just the food coma talking. Either way – 10/10 would eat again. The pasta? Chef’s kiss. The pizza? Could probably solve world peace. And the tiramisu? Let’s just say I considered ordering a second one “for the table” and then eating it all myself. Now, let’s talk about Jolie – our waitress and unofficial queen of Zizi’s. She was so good, I started wondering if she moonlights as a magician. Drinks appeared out of nowhere, she knew the menu like the back of her hand, and she even laughed at our terrible jokes (either she’s got patience of a saint or she deserves a raise… maybe both). In short: great vibes, great food, and Jolie made it even better. Would 100% go back, especially if she’s there running the show.

Amazing experience dining here the other day, with a fantastic server called Jolie. She was very attentive and took extremely good care of us. The food was good too!

Went here with my son and the food was fabulous, the best part was not only the onion and balsamic garlic bread, but the honeycomb cheesecake which was heavenly, we were served by Stuart who has excellent service and was kind and well mannered. Will definitely be here again.

Shocking food for the price, nearly £18 for chicken milanese which I wouldn't mind paying but the chicken was so dry veg was soggy and potatoes were rock hard. Prawns were over cooked and presentation (I almost laughed) wasn't good! Drinks were spilled on our table by staff and although he did apologise the table was sticky after. Won't be returning and won't recommend

We came tonight for dinner and the service was very confusing. We had a waitress who was I’m guessing new (completely okay). However all FOH staff didn’t seem to know what was happening. Staff were bringing food to wrong tables, a table next to us weren’t happy that their garlic bread came out as they were nearly finished with their pastas. Our starters came out and my friend had gluten free stickers on her bowl even though we have no allergies. Mains come out with no allergy treatment so very confused about that. When we got offered desserts we were also offered an allergy matrix (again, we have no allergies). Had to send a dessert back due to a hair being in it. Overall, Food was okay, speed of service was okay, but the FOH staff really had no clue what was going on. The only saving grace was our main server Sam who took over from our mains onwards.

¡Pizza impactante! Pedí Pollo Asado y Pesto y básicamente era difícil ver cualquiera de esos ingredientes ya que toda la pizza estaba asfixiada en hojas de cohete. También estaba demasiado cocido hasta el punto de ser como un crujiente. No me quejé ya que estábamos fuera por la noche con amigos que no habíamos visto por bastante tiempo. Uno de mis amigos tenía la pizza pepperoni y apenas podía cortar una rodaja con el cortador. Solíamos disfrutar de la comida en Zizzi, pero dudo que volvamos. Alguien tiene que mirar bien el plato antes de servir. Cualquiera en su sano juicio se habría dado cuenta de que mi pizza no estaba a la altura de las expectativas mostradas en el menú. En retrospectiva creo que la alfombra de cohete era para ocultar la falta de los ingredientes del menú. Lo añadiré a £ 15. 95 ¡Fue una estafa total! Nuestra factura total fue de casi £ 200 y el 10% se añadió automáticamente para el servicio. En mi opinión, el nombre anteriormente bueno de Zizzi ya no existe. ¡Qué pena!

Tristemente esto realmente ha bajado cuesta abajo desde el Covid. Solía ir cada año por mi cumpleaños y siempre era divertido. Ha habido algunos cambios en el personal y realmente hizo una diferencia en el ambiente. El servicio era adecuado pero básico, en un momento dado el personal estaba viendo un video en el área de recepción y era tan fuerte que no podíamos escucharnos, lo que me pareció grosero e intrusivo. Nos sentimos como un inconveniente.

La corteza siempre está perfectamente horneada, crujiente por fuera y suave por dentro, mientras que los rellenos son ricos, sabrosos y bien equilibrados. Maybe it is me or maybe I am just used to the service and attention you get from another pizza chain but I think there is room for a few improvements on the service. I have eaten here three times over a year and the service has been pleasant enough, but there have been two things that have made my Wife and I openly laugh. The first one was when we were asked whether we wanted chips with our pizza and I didn't realise this was a normal thing in the Durham area, so our chuckle and 'no thanks, is this a normal think?' was confirmed by the table next to us when their chips turned up and it would seem one review on here wasn't pleased with their chips, so sorry for my reaction. The second thing is how the wine is served, I say served, it is more delivered. The first time the wine was plonked down on the table with the top still on, which remained on so we had to unscrew and pour our first taste. Again, this sounds a bit pretentious, but this is literally the only restraint this has every happened to us in the past. We visited again this weekend and it was pretty much the same procedure, so this must be the norm in this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, both the waiter and waitress that served us on separate occasions were perfectly nice, but when there is £11 being added to the bill as a tip, I think there should be a bit more effort. Anyway, will I try it for a 4th time in the future? We shall see.

Complete rip off don’t bother!!! All about profit here, Fries £4.95 With my pizza (see image), no flour, overcooked and a complete JOKE, Pizza not made with love or any quality whatsoever, just a mass of cheese with thin floppy dough that should be fair is average at best! Had to send back the garlic bread with balsamic onions As they tried the slice it up to disguise the fact that they didn’t have any about something onions or garlic or cheese on over half of it! Mrs did have their prosciutto carbonara liked it But so she should at £18. Here’s the thing when you Charge top Money for food it has to be a high-quality and you gotta expect to be called out about it when it’s not they did take the margarita pizza off the bill, Did you leave the waitress good tip because she was very good

Food was nice but when coming to pay and had my cash ready I was informed that it’s card only!! Could have done with knowing that before ordering, no signs anywhere and not notified until I’d eaten. Cash is legal tender, I won’t be coming back

Although my order from Uber Eats was very disappointing, I want to change my review to a positive one! I called up Zizzi this morning, and the manager on shift (I am so sorry I don’t remember her name) couldn’t apologise enough. She gave me a remake of the order, and a free dessert! The food from the remake was amazing. The issue was handled so professionally, and the manager was very kind. So thank you for rectifying this x

£ 15 para calamares con más sal que el Mar Muerto £ 10 por una coca y Peroni Zero Cero servicio. Izquierda antes del plato principal. £ 25 en total para un entrante y 2 bebidas no alcohólicas. Personal completamente desinteresado y el lugar estaba prácticamente vacío.

Went to the Durham branch on Saturday with my wife and had two lovely meals which were as good as we have ever had at a Zizzi restaurant. Great service too from a gentleman who looked after our table. Thanks to all. Will be back!

Booked the table for my friends 30th birthday - I mentioned this in the booking. Not only did they do nothing to recognise this, the server was actually annoyed we were opening presents at the table! We were also seated next to a cupboard I had to get up so they could access - and the place was not busy. I also asked for a small garlic bread as I couldn't eat a whole one, I was told yes I could have a child sized one but was charged in the reciept for a full sized one, when I queried this I was told there was no button for a small garlic bread - okay then tell me that at the time! I had the vegan lasagne and it was okay but had very hard sundried tomatoes in.

Mi marido y yo pedimos el pollo calabrese y el nuevo pastel de grosella negra y queso limón. El plato principal estaba caliente y muy sabroso y la tarta de queso era fresca y muy limonada. Superó nuestras expectativas. Muy contento ya que este es nuestro primer viaje a Durham. El restaurante estaba bastante ocupado para un viernes por la noche y nos atendieron con prontitud y eficiencia.

Called in on Fri eve and the staff were really welcoming. Food was tasty and we enjoyed nice bottle of rose too.

The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating! The portion sizes are generous and there was a lot of different options in the menu. We really enjoyed the fondue and pizzas, would definitely recommend!

I hate the fact you walk past the smelly, sticky bottle bin on arrival, not the best welcome! Staff are on the whole, attentive. Agree with other review, portion sizes/ pizza toppings are disappointing and do not match the price paid. Found ingredients missing or out of stock on another occasion here, but they didnt point that out on ordering. Disappointed is a common feeling here. I ordered an avocado and salmon salad, you'd expect more than 2 wafer thin slithers of avocado. I left still feeling hungry. My friend said her meal wasn't the high standard as is usual. Chef maybe having an off night. It was edible. Won't hurry back.

Mi hija y 4 amigos vinieron a Zizzi Durham para su cumpleaños 16. Ella y otra persona del partido tienen intolerancias alimentarias y solicitaron una copia de la información de alérgenos. No disponible en papel - ofreció un enlace web en su lugar, que no funcionó. Ninguno de ellos se sentía seguro de preguntarlo, así que solo tenían que adivinar. Las comidas eran aparentemente sabrosas, pero el tamaño de las porciones era pequeño y ninguna de las chicas se sentía particularmente llena después de sus platos principales. Habíamos dado a nuestra hija dinero en efectivo para pagar las comidas de sus amigos, pero se hizo evidente que el dinero en efectivo ya no se acepta. La hija me llamó desde el restaurante para que pudiera pagar con mi tarjeta por teléfono y la camarera me dijo, bastante curvilíneamente, que esto tampoco iba a ser posible. La camarera me dio un sitio web para iniciar sesión y pagar desde allí. La página web que me dio "no se pudo acceder". Después de buscar en Google, encontré la dirección web correcta y pagué en línea. Todo parecía un faff bastante complicado y tomó el borde de la celebración de cumpleaños de nuestra hija. En general, ahora es muy poco probable que usemos Zizzi de nuevo.

Having previously eaten at Zizzi in York we decided to try Durham for a meal. Disappointed doesn't even come close to what we experienced at Zizzi in Durham. The table and seating was sticky to touch, the toilets were dirty, there were visible cobwebs hanging down above where food was being prepared, the complimentary snacks we received were uncovered on the bar next to the entrance door and the parmesan was sitting on a dresser again uncovered for flies to help themselves to. The staff were pleasant and the pizza's were nice but the hygiene was very, very poor and we will not be returning.

1st time eating at Zizzi, mocktails, pizza , fries and dessert for lunch with the daughter, food and drinks were delicious, staff were very friendly, will definitely return.

Don't get me wrong the food is nice but the cost versus size of the portions are a bit naff. And again, it's just a bit on the pricey side, there are far more venues where you get more bang for your buck. Having said that, the staff, the service, food and atmosphere was all top notch, I'm just not sure it's a chain I'll be revisiting .

During our Durham visit we went for lunch here. The staff was friendly and the food was great. The gluten free options were especially great.

The multitude of Saddler Street restaurants makes the choice difficult. Nostalgia for Sicily was the deciding factor. It's worth being seduced by memories. The Grande Antipasti starter was OK, we could watch the dough bubble in the oven. The first two randomly selected mains menu items, Chicken Calabrese and Herb-Rolled Pork Belly, were excellent. But all this pales in comparison to the Chocolate Brownie Sundae, a quadruple chocolate poetry of flavors. If you are looking for a place where you can eat great food, look for Zizzi. P.S. The wine is also up to standard and everything is available at a reasonable price.

Had an excellent meal at the Durham Zizzi’s with the my wife and two teenage kids. My wife is gluten and dairy intolerant and the staff were brilliant. She’s often conscious of not making work for people and sometimes doesn’t go out for meals as a result. We were served by Brian who talked her through the options and made sure she didn’t feel like an inconvenience. The food itself was spot on, the kids loved it, we’ll definitely be back.

We both had lasagne, my OH had the vegan option. He said it is the best lasagne he's ever had. Mine was really tasty too. Neither of us drinks alcohol so we asked for lemonade. Sadly it was sprite zero - any zero drink is horrible and we'd rather have been told when we ordered, but hey ho, few people know of the toxic chems in such drinks. The side of fries was really small, so next time we'd need one each rather than sharing. The woman that served us was friendly and polite. Oh and the pasta fries - GENIUS!!! We would definitely come back again.

Early evening meal enjoyed by all. Pleasant experience with good choice of pizza and pasta as expected. Can be a busy restaurant so do book if you can. Useful for spending your tesco vouchers so do come prepared.
