Booked in for a meal on Saturday night and served by Mia! Great service and lovely food. We had the 3 course and a Prosecco although it was great value the pudding tipped us over the edge and totally filled us up!

The food was amazing and the staff were so polite. One of our dishes was wrong and they immediately came over and apologised and sorted it out at the end for us.

We had a lovely festive lunch in Durham restaurant. Ellie was our server, she was very helpful. The other staff were all very friendly too.

Wonderful evening shared by twelve of us. Peroni went well with Great food and taste from the show kitchen.Complimentary Limone drink was a nice addition. Supported by efficient staff especially the lovely Ellie completing the night with her charming and nothing was a bother attitude.

Friendly and accommodating staff. It was my friends birthday meal and a staff member gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. Food was quick and lovely.

Sad to write this Me and my partner love this particular AI as it’s in a great location in Durham Car park is a lift ride away and is cheap on a night time Decided to take my partner and parents this evening and done nothing but big up AI but when I wanted it to shine it sadly didn’t Even though we had booked a table for the 4 of us we had to wait in a door way with the doors pinned open so it was freezing cold for us standing waiting for nearly 10 mins until staff dressed our table We ordered our food which took around 25 mins which wasn’t bad but our drinks we ordered when we first came in arrived shortly after our food No one came to check on us to ask if we had any issues with our meals and it took them a good 20 mins to take our finished plates away We also wanted a desert which no one came to take our order so I decided to order them on my phone using the QR code on the table 2 mins later a server came and told us one of the deserts wasn’t available so my parter had to choose something else No big deal Until we ordered something else to replace it Which again they didn’t have So ordered something And guess what They didn’t have it We just decided to cancel our deserts as we had other Arrangements and time was ticking To which the server made a fuss about having to cancel them but then decided to cancel them and didn’t even apologies We then asked for the bill which they didn’t seem to get sorted for us So I again used the QR code on the table and paid and we left We walked passed 3 members of staff and not one of them apologised or even said thank you and goodbye Think this will be the last for us coming to AI in Durham which is a big shame if I’m honest

Stopping through Durham for work and needed an easy dinner. Was pleasantly surprised how tasty this was. Was served by Molly and she was so lovely. Very friendly, funny and fast! :) Had the bruschetta and Buratta Carbonara. Both great 😊

This was an amazing dinner. After trying a beef regularly, which was excellent, I sa9d the Hannah, our server, that i fancied a cheese platter, even though it wasn't on the menu. Hannah rustled up the dish shown, wh9ch was exactly what we wanted. Hannah was an absolute inspiration in that she listened to what we wanted, then went away, came up with a suggestion at a price that worked for ASK, then upsold us a 500 ml of wine. Hannah is one to watch. In 40 years, she should be CEO, if ASK can hang on to her. People, ASK Durham shows how it can be done! What an excellent place!

Our server Molly was very attentive and gave my daughter a load of parmesan which made her super happy. She boxed up our leftovers and included a little pot of parmesan in the box. It's the little touches that mean a lot xx

I thought there was supposed to be mince in Lasagne and 6 meatballs size of walnuts. NOT value, overpriced for miserable meals. Worst Italian had. Won't be back. Bill£50 - unbelievable.

Ask in Durham never fail to impress we go at least once a month as I have 2 fussy children with ASD and finding food they both like is always hard but ask is never a problem the staff go above and beyond to make sure the food is right. The manger lee always says hello and makes the kids laugh he is a real credit to the store. Happy friendly staff and always 5stars from us.

Came in for a meal with a group of my friends and had a fabulous experience. The service was fantastic. All the staff were super lovely and helpful, and made us feel really comfortable as a couple of us have food allergies. The food came out before we knew it, and it was delicious! It was soo good we didn’t even take pictures. I will definitely be back soon!

I went here for lunch with 6 of my other friends for one of their BIRTHDAYS so you think the service would be good but NO. The food was average but the service is what really made this a bad experience. The male waiter was rude multiple times shouting at us for no reason. Tried to overcharge us for something we did not order and tried to blame it on us when really it was his fault. Overall bad experience and won’t be heading back there any time soon.

SO me and my friends went out for lunch for her birthday. as always the food was good but one waiter ruined it. he was extremely rude and shouted at my friend on her BIRTHDAY and really upset her as she is shy. honestly the worst customer service i’ve had in a whole it really upset us a grown man shouting at a 15 year old girl is disrespectful and disgusting. i won’t be coming back

The garlic bread was tasty but was almost cold, the carbonara was cold, tasteless and any sauce that was on the dish was gone! Really expensive for the portions too, I’m still hungry the portions were that small do not recommend

We used to choose this ASK over other chains as the food was good and the atmosphere nice. But it's really gone downhill. We were very surprised and disappointed. Very slow. 40 minutes after ordering I had to chase our food with a rather terse manager who didn't apologize or smile, and was very dismissive of us having somewhere else to be. Pizza was very poor, they used to be great. Minimal toppings, very dry, so different from previously. Really no better than a cheap home freezer one. There was an offer on which wasn't taken off our bill and had to be queried. Overall a poor experience and markedly different from before in terms of both food and service.

This is one of our favourite chain of restaurants to eat mainly because my wife is Coeliac and needs a safe gluten free variety of food. The staff are fully clued up with allergies and always ask on entering whether anyone has any. The GF menu is very substantial and the spicy calabria pizza is one of the best GF pizzas I have had. I also love the Mushroom risotto. My wife's fave GF dessert is the Chocolate Etna with the warm sauce slowly melting the chocolate covering of the ice cream. Also a big plus is the special perks you get when joining the mailing list. We have had numerous free sides, mains and starters. Also my wife was very surprised to receive a £10 off voucher around her birthday. All in all I would definitely recommend ASK italian. We normally visit the Metrocentre ASK and this was our first visit to this one. Staff were friendly and efficient

GLUTEN FREE PIZZA WAS TO DIE FOR!!!!

Booked this literally last minute on the day for my daughter's 20th birthday!. booked the table for 3pm but due to change of plans rang ahead to see if we could bring our booking forward, which the staff were more than accommodating to do. The table was booked for 10 of us and we were giving a lovely spot right in the middle of the restaurant. We had orders taken and food served by Lee. Lee is such a lovely person and was great at suggesting alternative menu choices and even tried to ensure we were saving money by dining from the lower priced menu. He in particular shone when my son was was unable to decide on a menu choice but Lee offered him various choices and suggestions. He also accommodated a menu for myself that wasn't displayed on the menu but i had previously and said it would not be a problem to do this and he was so right as it was lovely! Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks served and the service by all the staff could not be faulted. A very special thank you to the lady who served us towards the end of our meal and kindly took a family photo of us all. Thank you to all the staff especially Lee and the kind lady (sorry didnt get her name) once again who made our visit a memorable one and a highlight on my daughters birthday!

My family and I have had a lovely meal here, the selection of food is fabulous as well as the warm and friendly atmosphere! The staff were so accommodating and welcoming- our waitress Alicia took extra care to make sure we had everything we needed and more, a credit to the team. Okay! I visited this store on 27/07/2024 at 13:07 during my lunch break. I asked one of the staff member on how long will it take for them to give me a simple pizza. She replied by saying that it takes around 5-7 minutes for takeaway but for dine in , it might take around 10-13 mins . Then I was like okay, I would rather go for takeaway then I ordered one based on the menu which she gave. I was told to sit down which was nice of them, then I was asked to pay . I paid 13.95 but the price was 11.95 . I asked her on why is that case and was told that the takeaway is different. She just smiled and left. I got my pizza in 8 mins exactly which is amazing. I asked the staff to be able to sit down and have food as I had enough time . She was a bit unhappy and asked me to sit in the waiting area and finish off. The pizza was not even cut and I asked for the pizza cutter. She brought it and put it a bit on the waiting area table harshly. I felt embarrassed as people were looking at me. I cut my pizza and started eating. The pizza had very less cheese and it felt like I was eating a flat bread with sprinkled cheese on it. I asked for like the olive oil or something on the top which is like store complimentary which is in every pizza store, I was told to wait and never got it. I was then told that it won’t be allowed for me and the only reason I was able to sit and have the pizza is because of them being generous. I was literally upset over the whole thing and left the place. It is so disturbing as I kinda felt left out or abandoned. Not sure why they have done this to me. I am just posting this as I am super upset and extremely unhappy with the service. I have been in food and hospitality business for a long time, this is really not the best service. I would rather not visit the store again . I am sorry if I am too harsh in giving the stars but I am just sad and disappointed.
