Carluccio's - Kingston in Kingston upon Thames

3rd time I came to this restaurant with my family this weekend and it’s always a pleasure! Love the atmosphere and the food, the view of the river is unparalleled in Kingston

Disappointing. Incredibly slow service and the fish pie was inexcusably tiny. Ashamed I grew up with Brown's in Brighton and it was always great.

The afternoon tea was the poorest quality afternoon tea that I have ever experienced in my life. The regular teas were served with plain chutney sandwiches, cakes with their bottoms missing - most of it was inedible. The gluten free was below average, the only thing saving it was the scone. There was a bowl of cream served that was almost churned to butter with a few strawberries on top, and a brownie that was still raw. Absolutely appalling standard. We also had some weird encounter with a lady who accused me of not telling the waiter I required gluten free, when it was on the booking, I was provided a gluten free menu on arrival and spoke to waiter about my allergies. Overall, it was a waste of a journey and our time to go there.

Came in on a Sunday and service was incredibly slow. Took about 20 minutes to get drinks order taken and another 20 to get t he drinks. They did deal with allergies very well however and food was good. Bit expensive for what it was -£18 for a burger.

Lara & Silva are absolutely brilliant - had another wonderful Sunday roast here at Kingston, both ladies are an asset to the browns team, thank you and we will be back soon

Boring. And they've stopped the club sandwiches

I went there for a late breakfast and the fact that the place was empty should’ve been a warning. It is surrounded by other eateries which were all busy. The staff were fine at taking the order which was a full English, minus black pudding. However, no replacement item was offered instead. The food came quickly and looked ok if a bit tired, and the sausages in particular looked a few days old and reheated. But, everything else on the plate was stone cold. The fresh butter wouldn’t even melt on the toast. The plate was cold, the tomatoes were hard and the portion of beans was served in a teeny tiny pan with a large spoonful of beans at best. At no point did any staff come over to check how it was, even though I was still the only customer. It tasted ok despite the temperature, and I was hungry so I ate most of it. I paid the bill at the bar and the waiter didn’t bother asking how everything was either, hence a review here for the wider audience. I vote with my wallet and won’t be going back.

I have been to this branch of Browns on many occasions and always had great service and the right amount of attention, but on this occasion I was disappointed with the whole experience of Browns in Kingston. On arrival, as a party of 4 adults and 1 child, we were lead to a table in side room, although there were many empty tables in the main part of the restaurant, and it was a good 30 minuets before anyone came to take our drinks order. Once we had placed our orders for food, although when I asked for the burger to be medium rare I was told this was not possible and my comment was "the meat is not fresh then" and the waiter agreed, but was assured the burger was good. We then waited 45 minuets for our starters to arrive, and when they did arrive, mine was wrong, so by the time the correct starter I ordered arrived all my friends had finished with there's. The mains came, and were ok, my burger was meh, but edible. Our plates were cleared and we asked for the desert menu. After waiting for roughly 30 minuets and no menu, my friend went to ask a waitress for them and he was told she was not serving our section. Another waiter appeared and we aired our overall dissatisfaction with the overall experience and how we felt shoved to the back, especially as there were still empty tables in the main part, and wondered if it had anything to do with our group. Would I go back to Browns Kingston...I can say its at the bottom of the list and the group of friends I was entreating, will not. An overall sad and unpleasant experience.

Came for Afternoon tea, the service is lovely and the live musician was great. The afternoon tea selection was okay, my husband and I were looking forward to the lobster brioche rolls but were disappointed. His had a hint of lobster flavour whereas mine had none at all, just the lemon mayonaise inside. The scones were tasty and warmed just right. Overall an okay experience but I think there are better afternoon tea places in Kingston to visit instead.

Artemis was a lovely and brilliant host and handled the big group of us (including kids) with such professionalism and kindness, even where the kids were causing chaos. Despite having some difficulties booking, once resolved Browns went above and beyond and really made the afternoon enjoyable for everyone of all ages. thank you!!

We were served by Albania and had an absolutely brilliant time. It was my mum's birthday and Alban was so attentive for our bottomless brunch, this experience far surpassed my previous of being neglected or not asked of my options for my next drink. Lovely meal and lovely service

This is my 2nd visit to Browns restaurant, I came here with two friends for our Christmas get together, we all had the Christmas set menu - the starters arrived very promptly We all picked the prawn cocktails, very tasty with nice freshly chunky bread. The roast turkey meal was delicious, but I did have to send mine back as it was cold! That arrived fairly quickly too! The vegetables was absolutely delicious, plus all the trimmings too. For our desserts we chose salted caramel profiteroles - which didn’t come with cream, but we did ask for some. They do add a service charge on their bills, which in my Opinion is a bit of a liberty, if we wanted to leave a tip we would! All in all we did have lovely afternoon/evening. My 3rd visit to Browns, with a friend who hasn’t been before, no beef roast dinner on offer as they had run out! We ordered chicken/pork roast dinners and asked for Yorkshire pudding to be added, didn’t realise we would be charged £2.50 for them. In my opinion this should come with any roast dinner! My first visit to the upstairs part of Kingston branch and it was cold from the aircon! The food tasted great but I wouldn’t say it’s value for money. The atmosphere with the piano playing was a nice treat.

I had an amazing time with my girlfriend here, Alban treated us amazingly and went the extra mile with the service, would definitely recommend.

Had a great experience with a friend. My burger was delicious and I had a lovely cocktail. Most of all I loved the decor, it looked new and very classy with a grand piano in the corner. Chairs are red velvet and very comfortable.

We had a lovely night with Alban as our server and everything was perfect! The food was delicious and the service was prompt and Alban was just amazing!!

We were a table of 11 people and had the bottomless brunch menu. Our waiter Alban was attentive and provided excellent service. Food was great and we’d certainly visit again.

Went here for breakfast with my wife, the service was excellent, food was lovely, presented nicely. The lady that showed us to our table over heard me saying to my wife, you choose where to sit it's your birthday, and at the end of our meal, they presented my wife with a birthday plate with little cakes, she was really pleased, and it was so thoughtful, really made a lovely end to our meal. We will definitely be going back.

Great location and ambience matched with food and efficient service. A nice place for a cozy lunch. The vegetarian options are limited but overall very good experience.

Too expensive, nothing special food wise. But good waiter and nice view over the river.

Amazing brunch at browns. Food appeared before the drinks however did not impact the enjoyment of the day. Absolute highlight was Alban. So friendly and considerate and goes above and beyond. Thanks to him we would definitely return again.

We had a table of 6 for afternoon tea and it was absolutely lovely. The service was second to none, very love staff who went above and beyond to make my aunt feel special on her birthday. A gentleman named Costas was very accommodating. The afternoon tea was love and pink champagne was nice too however we did feel there was a few too many sweet things in comparison to the savoury. We also felt that the cakes may have been left out a little too long. The experience was delightful and we are looking forward to coming back and experiencing the main dinner menu xx

We were at a joint birthday party , 25 + guests, the food was very good and the service was super, our server was Anna, who was efficient and friendly.

On arriving at Browns Kingston for a cocktail, we were told to sit to the right as we were not eating We were told order from the bar, ( we felt dismissed - not welcome) Two Margaritas we waited at our designated table for them to arrive- The service was so slow, we had to go remind them - Two Margaritas cocktails serviced in tumbler Half full £28 not presented well - you charge a high premium Then I expect excellent. This was shockingly bad - And expensive for what arrived : I do not recommend the establishment.

We recently dined at Browns Kingston as a family, including our young child, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. Our waiter, Carlos, was exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure our dining experience was perfect. The food was amazing, with a great variety to choose from, and everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be returning!

Group of us came here for mixture of afternoon tea and a la carte. Food was absolutely divine and I will definitely be back for another afternoon tea and everyone else enjoyed there meals too. Just a couple of little negatives our first waitress was not friendly and welcoming and left us sitting there without a drink for 20 minutes she just seemed very sad, our 2nd waitress blond possibly manager was delightful very friendly and helpful. Also would of been nice to have cream cheese and chutney with the cheese scone rather than clotted cream and jam, that's all everything else perfect. Really lovely free cocktail for signing up to Brown's too. I will definitely recommend.

The location, the interior design, cleanliness, toilet cleanliness, staff demeanour and friendliness were excellent. I was surprised to be honest as the competition aren't even close to this level. I really enjoyed my Harrissa chicken but if I was being picky, the Sunday roast beef didn't look to the same standard as everything I praised above. I'd definitely come again.

Boozy brunches are a bit alien to me. But Carlos made sure we were covered as soon as the last sip was drunk he was there all ready with a new one. Carlos was great, everyone be more like Carlos.

I've been to Brown's in Kibgston now a few times, Sunday roast is lovely, nice atmosphere and really nice staff.

Food, drinks, staff and decor were amazing. An expensive meal but everything was perfect and it was a special occasion so we didn't mind. We were sat in a beautiful part of the restaurant. All in all a great experience and we'll definitely be back, once we've saved up

OVERPRICED FOOD IS NOT FRESH As soon as I sat down I remember why I don't like this place. The food is meh and the service is bad.overpriced There's so many other places around, don't bother. Bad, bad, bad I won't be back.Avoid this place 👎🏻

We went to Browns for the first time and it was nice, the food was good and the service was alright. The only reason it isn’t a 5 was because of the bill which I was disappointed with. I received my bill and there was two VAT charges on it. One of the VAT which supposedly was for the government was £80. I didn’t know this was a thing and asked the waitress who was serving us. She didn’t know either and went away to ask another colleague. She took so long to come back that I don’t think they knew either. She explained that one VAT was for the government and the other was for them. I’m not sure how true this was as I’ve never encountered this before. She didn’t give us the receipt back and I didn’t ask for it back as I was in shock but that was my fault.

We had a great bunch. The food and drinks were delicious and well-presented and we were very well looked after by our wonderful server, Ben.

You visit a place and you feeln,you want to stay and enjoy the calm,lit well with the view of water and served well made dishes and drinks and music in the background to keep you buzzing

I had my wedding reception at Browns and everything and everyone was absolutely amazing. Not only did the booking, food selection and adapting and decisions go so well but Hannah and her team were so helpful that I felt at ease everything would be amazing on the day. And it was. They let my bridesmaid decorate the room in the morning, they received and carefully placed my wedding cake, they catered to our every need and let us have the private room for all the guests. The food was delicious and the squid is to die for. I was absolutely delighted when they even gave us a special treat for our wedding at the end. If you are looking for a place to cater, care and deliver delicious and amazing food and service, Browns is your place.

Santos always provides first class service and knows exactly what we want and is very attentive

This is definitely our 'home from home' one stop happy place. We come several times a week for years! Food never lets us down, staff lovely and we love our regular waiter SANTOS who always radiates positive happy and efficient vibes. (but all are great) and cocktails great. We'll keep coming back as long as they'll have us! I come for coffee and breakfast/brunch with mum and friends and a regular 'date night' for dinners, love it!

I don’t normally leave reviews but this one is a must. I have been working over this way from Kent area and visited here while over here, the staff are amazing and all so friendly! The coffee is second to none and the vibe is outstanding. If you ever want to enjoy a beautiful bit of relaxing time surrounded by such happy smiling staff, then please give this place a try. I will definitely return when in the area again. Keep up the good work guys.

Great venue great service great food went for lunch on a Thursday had the specials menu salmon starter steak fries main and was talked into rhubarb n apple crumble all delicious and very reasonable in no rush riverside surroundings thoroughly recommend
