Amazing Mother’s Day dinner, food was great, staff extremely attentive and Ana made this occasion very special. Restaurant extremely comfortable with beautiful setting, good atmosphere, well managed.

Beautiful night and also the drinks are so nice in my tummy and also it was so fast from order to pint in hand. It made me so happy.

The staff were wonderful, served the most amazing cocktails and even gave us our own section for our large group for a games and drinks night. Had the most amazing time and Santos especially, was a diamond.

We were asked to attend a 40th birthday and thevfood was disgraceful. My main came out and the fish was off. I took one smell and sent it back. The service was OK and the atmosphere was good but I woukd not recommend this place if you like good food. Wonderful location spoilt by the terrible kitchen.

Went for afternoon tea even though its was pre booked we waited 45 minutes for service . I would not recommend their afternoon tea food was not great service was bad hardly u call it an afternoon tea experience. I rather pay a bit extra and go somewhere special .

Food was lovely and it’s a nice setting. Waiting staff didn’t leave us too long without attention. One star off for ambiance - it’s a large, hard walled and hard floored space, so unfortunately any noise (e.g. loud kids, etc) just reverberates around. We asked to be moved and that was done with no issues.

21/3/25 went for my birthday meal, we got seated on time, but it took over ten minutes for the server to come and ask if we would like a drink, we ordered starters prawns with chorizo, the prawns were overcooked and rubbery, then we both had fish pie which to be honest was tasteless had to put so much pepper on it just so it would taste, then when I got in the middle of mine it was only luke warm, we both sent it back, they did offer an alternative but to be honest it was such a disappointment I just wanted to leave, we paid for our starters and drinks and left, such a shame as we had been last August and it was delicious, sadly will not be going back, also the server did not come and check to see if everything was ok my partner had to go and find someone to tell them about our meal

Sandwiches were very basic grated cheese and pickle and hard bread we're it was done before hand this was a voucher from our great nephew then on top we had to pay service charge 😭

I don't normally write reviews (good or bad) but feel compelled to write a bad one about this restaurant. The main cause for this was the food. Firstly the peas on the side of the Fish pie were sent back because they were barely warm and then after obvioiusly being microwaved, very hard. My partner's gluten free pasta was al-dente to the point of being uncooked oh... and there was no crab in the Crab and Shrimp Pasta (the main pricey ingredient?). He ate only half and to be fair he mentioned this and they took it off the bill. The service was not great as well as we often had to call various waitresses over for attention. This has happened before where a separate device and waitress was needed to take a gluten-free order and then it took ages for us to pay our bill. Overall a very poor experience and it means that Browns have lost my custom for a long time.

Sourdough with crashed brown off avocado, almost no feta cheese and lame and weathered cherry tomatoes is embarrassing to present!!! The rest of my party had a great experience with their various options.

I was in Browns Kingston today. And it was lovely. The lovely lady in the name Christine help me to choose my order as I’m gluten free and make my experience so much easier. The food was hot and tasty and the cocktails was absolutely delicious. Thank you Christine for the lovely service will see you again soon!!

Unfortunately had dreadful lunch plate here today. Food dried out & tasteless. As if it had been cooked & rewarmed. Awful. Anyhow great shame as have had tasty meals here in past. Lady I mentioned this to didn’t want to know. Disappointing attitude to a regular customer.

This is my 2nd visit to Browns restaurant, I came here with two friends for our Christmas get together, we all had the Christmas set menu - the starters arrived very promptly We all picked the prawn cocktails, very tasty with nice freshly chunky bread. The roast turkey meal was delicious, but I did have to send mine back as it was cold! That arrived fairly quickly too! The vegetables was absolutely delicious, plus all the trimmings too. For our desserts we chose salted caramel profiteroles - which didn’t come with cream, but we did ask for some. They do add a service charge on their bills, which in my Opinion is a bit of a liberty, if we wanted to leave a tip we would! All in all we did have lovely afternoon/evening. My 3rd visit to Browns, with a friend who hasn’t been before, no beef roast dinner on offer as they had run out! We ordered chicken/pork roast dinners and asked for Yorkshire pudding to be added, didn’t realise we would be charged £2.50 for them. In my opinion this should come with any roast dinner! My first visit to the upstairs part of Kingston branch and it was cold from the aircon! The food tasted great but I wouldn’t say it’s value for money. The atmosphere with the piano playing was a nice treat.

Service was impeccable. Staff were attentive but not intrusive, the ambiance within the restaurant was wonderful, I felt relaxed and calm and there was a good variety of food and drink choices. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be returning with other friends and recommending the restaurant.

Pleasant river view. The interior is well laid out and furnished. There is plenty of space between tables. The decor is tasteful. The starters came out suspiciously quickly - they may have been sitting waiting. But, they tasted OK. The main courses were unremarkable. I had a burger and my colleague had some vegetarian concoction (I never notice what they are). Towards the end, the servers disappeared. To where, we know not. Rather expensive for ordinary fare.

Visited Browns Kingston for my aunts birthday, it was my first time visiting so wasn’t sure what to expect. The atmosphere was great, live music on the piano. The restaurant was busy which would explain why the service was a bit slow, never the less the waiter was great, he was professional, kept coming back and checking to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. The food was good, was lacking a bit of flavour but it wasn’t bad. I had the roast chicken with roasted veg, the potato’s was a bit soft and soggy but that may have been because there was too much gravy on the plate. It was a good experience. The crispy squid was nice and crispy and perfectly cooked.

The service was great and waiter was extremely helpful and friendly who served us. We all enjoyed our dishes and my cocktail was delicious.

We visit Browns frequently and usually have a good experience,although we did once return our dinners for being cold.Last Sunday my son treated me to a birthday lunch.To say the food was cold doesn’t really cut it it. It was so cold it must have been hanging around for at least twenty minutes.Will try another restaurant next time.

Food was great but service was SHOCKING!!!! Not far short of being ignored, I'm sure if we just walked out at the end of our meal no one would have noticed. Putting on an automatic 10% service charge (which we hesitantly paid BUT generally would have paid more) gives your servers and wait staff a chance to be slack and that showed tonight.

The service quality drops during busy times, perhaps due to the lack of staff. We went there in the afternoon to have cocktails and snacks. We were pleased with both the cocktails and snacks. The only thing that was a bit sad was that the ketchup I asked for the chips didn't come until I finished the chips. The interior was nicely designed and the toilets were clean. It's really hard to find a place with clean toilets. I might go again just for this reason :)

Fantastic Sunday roast, Lara was great assistance and the food was lovely. The sourdough to start was a great portion and so fresh, and the pork belly roast was cooked perfectly.

Excellent service and the food is amazing!

Went here for breakfast and it was average, nothing special. We got the English breakfast which the sausage was overcooked and the pancakes which were covered in too much syrup for liking making them too sweet. Service was terrible considering it was not busy when we went— probably 12 staff there (as I heard there would be Christmas party after) and only 5 tables to wait so I’m unsure why the service was so bad. We had to keep trying to get the attention of staff on several occasions. Overall, I’m quite disappointed by my experience at Browns.

The service was great, staff were very friendly and pleasant and in spite of it being very busy, did their very best to be attentive and offer a very good dining experience. It was unfortunate that delays to our courses (Christmas Day) were delayed in the kitchen for whatever reason which meant we were at the restaurant for a lot longer than we expected (affecting car parking charges etc). If this aspect could be improved, I would easily rate our dining experience as 10/10. Kudos in particular to our waiter (did not catch name unfortunately!) who made efforts to apologise and keep us updated re our delayed meals! I suspect it being Christmas Day had a major part to play in our experience above. We have dined at Browns before and it was excellent.

Don't go for Xmas lunch it was overpriced chaos!!!.

We want to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at Browns Kingston today. It has been a tricky year for our 92 year old mother & grandmother who can no longer host in her own home. The staff, service & food at Browns was 5* - all staff went above & beyond to make us all feel welcome, the food was phenomenal & the atmosphere was really relaxed. Thank you & we hope you manage to have a relaxing time over the holidays xx

Good food generally but steak was absolutely shocking for the price they are charging. Was undercooked and cold and they brought it back overcooked and the fat was hard as rubber on a ribeye!

food was very good, i had a burger and a sticky toffee pudding and it was delicious. shaun gave very good customer service aswell

Visited this place during lunch hours. It was relatively busy with the xmass parties. However we still managed to get an amazing service by Carlos and his team.
