Charlotte was a brilliant waitress. She was excellent and also made my young daughter and I feel very welcome and looked after, giving us a lovely little lunch time together- thanks Charlotte! Ask - you need more like her! Xx

Our table was broken with a massive hole on the side. The meals were watery and very basic with a price tag that is well above what it should be considering the quality. I felt unwell until the next day and really regret going there. Bosco down the road is far better and I will never ever return to Ask Italian. Sad because the one in London is fine, but now I just don't trust the food at all.

After another restaurant let us down because of oven related issues, we managed to find a table at Ask, despite it being the busy race week period - they proved to be a more than adequate substitute. We were greeted by a friendly member of the team , shown to our table and given a welcome shot of lemonade on the house. Throughout our meal we received great service. Good choice of food to suit all tastes and no problems with our order. The wine we chose to accompany our meal ( an Italian shiraz ) was excellent. Relaxing atmosphere and service was efficient but not obtrusive. In conclusion we had a very enjoyable meal ( although one of our team did rather let the side down by requesting brown sauce )

This was our third visit to this restaurant in the past 12 months. I have never tasted better food, and the prices are realistic. The service was excellent. I can particularly recommend the King Prawn & Crayfish Frilly Tagliatelle. I had mine with no chilli, but they will add chilli if you want to confuse your taste buds.

The poor score is based on my main meal pollo Milanese. It’s one of the expensive items on the menu. So you expect to get what you pay for. This was one of my ultimate favs at ask. Wow has it gone down hill. The mushroom sauce was not a sauce but a dreadful congealed lump of it mushroom soup from a can served in a tiny ramakin and was luke warm. They should loose the mushroom sauce if they can’t be bothered to make it fresh with the right ingredients like they use to. The chicken was drenched in garlic butter. The crumb wasn’t crispy and the new potato were chopped into tiny pieces for a child and very oily. The coffee is great and ravioli was better. Lucky we used our taste card didn’t feel as ripped off.

Arrived at 6:00 p.m. with an hour and a half before we had to leave to go to the theatre. Food didn't arrive at the table for over an hour and 20 minutes so we didn't have time to eat it. Staff were very apologetic but that doesn't make up for the fact that we paid for food we couldn't even eat. Unacceptable to wait over an hour for food at any restaurant IMO. Cocktails however were nice and reasonably priced, I had three whilst I wanted for my food...

Went for Valentine’s Day, my food was good but my boyfriend’s chicken was completely pink and so undercooked the breadcrumbs were wet and falling off. Also it took 20 minutes to get the bill as the servers kept forgetting, we had to ask 3 different people, i understand Valentine’s is a busy night but raw chicken is never ok

Holly was very polite and friendly and asked us where we would like to sit. Food was lovely however the portions were quite small.

Food was cold when arrived. Calzone was poor. Nothing like I have had in the restaurant before. It was more bread than filling. Shame because I have always enjoyed eating in the ASK Italian restaurant.

Omg , the order we have received was a joke . Over 9 £ for prawns and 9 £ for calamari and what I have received was unbelievable 🤯 food was also cold . Will never try there food again . Below some pictures what I have ordered and what I have received. Shocking ! 🤯🤬

It's a thur in Jan so not busy at all so atmosphere was lacking but not Ask fault. Charlotte our waitress was a delight. We ordered two Calzonies. Had to send mine back as it wasn't very hot. No trouble at all and Charlotte was very apologetic. To our surprise the bill had been amended for the food not being correct first time. We will definitely go back as the food was delicious and staff very welcoming.

Usually have a good meal and service, perhaps it was one off but - starter was not hot and waited 25 mins for main course to arrive

We had a Frutti di mare and a Stromboli pizza and these were delicious! The place is nice and the service is outstanding, Holly was brilliant! I highly recommend the Biscott cheesecake as dessert. We will definitely come back.

Great restaurant lovely food and wine 🍷 😋 I did take a picture of my pizza unfortunately it was too late as I ate it 🙃 so take my word for it it was lush.

We entered the restaurant, me, my wife and two children, and were kept waiting an absolute age to be greeted and then seated (EVERYONE who entered throughout are visit also looked to experience this with several groups giving up and leaving there and then - which would of been the best choice), we sat unattended for absolutely ages until I managed to get a server's attention, we placed our order and then even more waiting, we entered the premises at 15:00 and didn't even get our drinks until 15:40. The service was insanely slow even though the restaurant seemed to be at less then half capacity, we where in there a total of 2 hours, nearing the end I had to chase up our children's desserts (ice cream), twice, and I had to go up to make payment before it arrived as I'd been in there so long I was actually getting claustrophobic and just wanted out to get some fresh air and get away. No apology or explanation for the shocking service, no one asked how the food was at any stage at all, no 'thank you' for our custom. The food wasn't bad hence not 1 star. I'd probably try it again in like 7/8 years when it may have changed dramatically. Shocking.

We went to Ask Italian to celebrate my sister's birthday. We ordered drinks to start. I was served a watered down aperol spritz that I took back and it was changed with no problem. We waited around 20 minutes for a bottle of wine that we ordered only to be told that staff could not remove the cork/ top of the bottle. It arrived around 10 minutes later. Starters came shortly after. Around 20 mins after the starters we were told that one of the ingredients for the calzone one of the party ordered was unavailable so they selected another main meal only to have the calzone served to them when the mains arrived. We pointed this out to the waitress and she apologised and said the second choice (king prawn pizza) was on the way. Another one of the mains (king prawn linguine) was very unsatisfactory as it came with one king prawn! When we questioned the staff about this we were told it had been prepared according to head office guidelines!! Also when a second bottle of wine was ordered we asked for an extra glass and got an extra glass of wine served to us!! In addition to this when we got the bill we were charged for the calzone which we had been told was unavailable and the replacement meal. We really did expect better service and there was no excuse for so many errors on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The blame lies with management who left inexperienced staff in charge of the restaurant. We definitely won't be visiting this branch of Ask Italian again.

Deliveroo driver here. Really weird experience. I ask a worker who walked past me if they could go check on my order/if it’s ready. She was like “yeh” then just kept on cleaning tables for the next 5 minutes. She then walked past the kitchen, and ran off to clean more tables. I ask another girl and she goes straight to the kitchen and pulls out the food from the food heater closet. Weird

The waitress did say when we walked in there was a wait on food. But when we had to wait 40 mins for a drink and then 1 hour 15 mins for one starter and then even longer for four mains. Three other tables that walked in after us got their food first. When I chased our mains the waiter then told us, because we had ordered one starter, our mains had been put back even longer. We only said we would have a garlic bread as the mains was taking so long so we had something and drinks. Then when the mains come. One was missing and took almost 10 mins longer to arrive and my lasagne has four sheets off pasta and no meat and only I’d say 3 tables spoons off sauce in it so was very dry. They did take two mains off our bill and then extra discount. But for what we all have to pay for food and drinks in restaurants now days. This really isn’t acceptable sorry. My lasaagne was around £16.95 and no salad or garlic bread or fries on the side. A lot of money for a very basin lasagne…. I could get better quality in Asda or Tescos for £4. Ish. So they really need to step it up. Not the main staffs problem. We actually felt sorry for them and said don’t worry it’s not your fault. But it really isn’t worth £115 for four people…… oh and the chips are £5,95 and we got say 7 chips 🍟 f that and around 10 pieces of grated cheese….

Really lovely lunch! I've been to ASK Italian in other cities before but this experience was made that much better by the service of everyone there, especially Grant!! His smiley, enthusiastic to help demeanour made my time here that much better. Will defo be back if he's there!

Fantastic food, great service. We brought our children here when they were young & it’s still excellent now as a grown up resto. The interior is excellent & ahead of style too, especially for a chain. Big thanks to Imogen our waitress.

Great food, atmosphere, very poor service

Food was generally ok but not as good as the last time we visited.Waitress started clearing tables while some of our group were still eating.

Amazing service from all the waitresses, Imogen on the door, Madison at the table and Sian at the bar, all friendly and there when we needed them. They made the experience that much better. Food was all brilliant though the spicy calabria definitely needs the offered extra chilli oil and my friend said the vegan cheese on her pianta wasn't her favourite. It's what you would expect from a restaurant of this type and price. Have been here many times before for parties and will definitely come back, always recommend.

I went to ASK italian with a booking, at 6pm, for context we are three young female adults. We were served instantly with great service. Once the main was served we had it on our table for over an hour. We had servers see us and walk away when we had been obviously done for 40 minutes as we had not touched our plates or cutlery. Yet, we the table wasn’t cleared. Once a member of staff realised, they gave us the dessert menu and left, they did not clear the table. Nor did they return to collect our dessert order. We had another member of staff (there has been 3 by this point) ask if we had even been served our dessert. There was no communication. Loved the food though. Recently revisited this restaurant after being contacted and decided to give it a second go. Dare i say i loved it, the service was MUCH better, the waitress was extremely lovely and checked in on us throughout the meal. I am glad i gave this place a second go as i would have missed this great experience. Thankyou.

A very young staff doing their best with little support. Non-descriptive pizza flavours and no atmosphere to encourage return business. Find the toilets is an in-house game that could be resolved with a simple sign.

Nice if you like microwave food

Service very slow, despite the restaurant appearing fairly empty. Staff however, were lovely. Only food criticism is of the Lasagne bites. Presumably off-cuts from the main course portion, they were just deep fried pasta, no cheese or sauce and therefore tasteless.

The food and wine was absolutely superb and our waitress, Kate, was exceptional. She was there when we needed her, but didn’t hover over us. A fabulous dining experience, it made our weekend!

No garlic bread as promised after spending the minimum amount. Pizza not sliced. Chicken was so less.

Unfortunately the processing of orders here does not, or is possible to not - work. While various tables put in their orders and were served, our order, after being one of the first tables to arrive, was forgotten. Only after reminding the staff, then waiting again an abnormally long tine, we're we finally served. I suspect it has more to do with the establishment being short staffed (one waitress and one bartender) than anything else. But one does have to wonder why/how a table sitting for an hour waiting to be served would not get the attention of said waitress and/or the bartender/manager? We got the summer 3 course option and we were there a total of 3 hours.

Went on Sunday evening at 18.30. Was quiet - as expected, service was absolutely wonderful, food was fresh, tasty and hot. Really enjoyed our evening. The staff make this place a very pleasant place to eat. Would heartily recommend.

Nice place for meal on a Saturday teatime. Good food and great service from the two waitresses Kate and Imogen. Friendly cheerful and attentive. Enjoyed the pizzas and the tiramisu is the best. Will be back.

I popped in for a light lunch today, and had a mushroom risotto, and a still lemonade. In the end, I didn't want to leave, so I had a tiramisu, too. They get everything right here. I can't fault them. I won't hesitate to return. Dr Paul Harris
