Gianni’s is our favourite Italian restaurant, we drive from Gloucester to collect our order as nobody else compares. Today the restaurant made a small error but they went above and beyond to rectify this. I have never received such good customer service as what I did tonight! Thank you so much❤️

Myself and family(11) people had my birthday celebration here last night 26th April,. The service was excellent, food lovely and served efficiently. Thank you for a great night.

My wife and I went to Gianni for lunch and were amazed by the food, service and price. The lunch time special was "Any pasta dish for £9.95", so I chose sea-food spaghetti and my wife chose salmon, cream and caviar linguine. Both dishes were superb with prompt and friendly service. We are planning dates for tasting the other 10+ pasta dishes. Highly tecommended, more expensive in evenings but still excellent value.

My husband and I go to Gianni's every year for my birthday since I was 18, I'm now 34! The food is always of high standard and the staff are always friendly. Service is always given professionally and there is nothing that they won't do to help make your meal the best for you. I always have the same things when I go there as I love the same dishes but all food always comes out hot and always tasty! The Tiramisu is always lovely. Will always come here for a birthday meal for as long as I can!

Have eaten here on several occasions over the years and chose this for our diamond wedding anniversary dinner,just my wife and I.Being elderly we don't eat late so we ate at 6.30.The place was packed and noisy, I felt there were too many tables in the room and it was not the setting I was hoping for.To be fair the food was fine but the atmosphere was awful .We were not welcomed just hurriedly shown a table and order taken with no friendly repartee .The waiting staff seemed to want us to eat and go as quickly as possible.Afraid it will be a long time before eat eat there again.

We found this hidden gem whilst visiting the Cotswold. Food amazing Portions large Proper Italian family type Restaurant. Prices excellent. Not pretty inside or out very basic decor but well worth the visit Free car park opposite after 8pm

If you are looking for an authentic Italian Restaurant in Cheltenham then look no further than Gianni's. Forget your chain type restaurants and experience Italian, unpretentious food prepared by and served by real Italian people who know the true meaning of rustic and tasty food. The goats cheese & aubergine starter we had with some garlic bread with cheese was the perfect starter. Our main courses of spaghetti bolgnese and spaghetti carbonara were expertly prepared by Chef Vito who clearly cooks from the heart as both dishes were just what we had craved for. We went in for a large bowl of tasty pasta and that is what we received. The house red wine was moreish and the service very welcoming. Prices were competitive and not over the top. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and when we arrived at 6.30pm the restaurant was a hive of activity. I gave a 4 star purely because our table wasn't in the best position but upon leaving it wasn't the table that was at the foremost on our minds but the contentment of being looked after by people who clearly know what they are doing. Thank you for a lovely evening, we will see you again next time we come to town.

Lovely food 😋 would go again... authentic

We were on a short visit to Cheltenham, for the first time . This restaurant is a bit out of the way, compared to many of the local eateries but worth seeking it out. We were able to book a table for later the same evening and when we arrived it only had a couple of tables occupied. We thought we might have made a mistake but we were so wrong. The welcome was warm, the menu was extensive and covered many of our Italian favourites. The service was good and the food was top notch and very reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend. Oh, and it filled up really quickly!

Food was awful, both starter and main course. Fillet steak served with a huge amount of gloopy sauce which tasted awful. Service poor. Restaurant was really cold on a February evening which was unusually mild at 12 degrees Celsius,so no excuse other than they refused to put the heating on, despite our request. Other diners were cold too. Cannot understand how this place gets 4 out of 5 on trip advisor. Avoid it.

Me and my partner went here for our valentines meal last week, the food was exceptional and was absolutely mouth watering, the service seemed to me a little abrupt but to be fair it was very busy when we went on a Friday evening and the atmosphere was amazing 9/10 would highly recommend

Wonderful Italian restaurant. We both had starters and the fillet steak in blue cheese sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce is extraordinarily good. Friendly staff, we will visit again next time we're in Cheltenham.

My wife and i have been 100's of times to this great restaurant & coming to Giannis for us is a total pleasure ,The front of house staff are excellent , The kitchen staff and chefs are fantastic , the food is amazining, all freshly preparared , great atmosphere , what more do you want ? If uve not been try it , you wont be disapointed , id give it 5 stars every day of the week, and yes i do put my money where my mouth is as my wife and i have been coming here regularly ( most weeks) supporting this gem of a restaurant for over 25yrs , Alan & Claire x

This restaurant was behind our hotel and the reviews drew us in. Wonderful reception and service. Steak excellent and sea food pasta delicious. We were so glad to find it. It would be worth travelling to get to it!

We turned up 30 minutes late due to a prior engagement running over, was no trouble and they pushed a couple of tables together for us, we did get told off but over the top and tongue in cheek, which was great. The food was excellent and perfectly matched with the drinks menu. Gianni’s has a lovely independent/family run vibe to it and a great atmosphere. It was busy and lively but the staff were right there when you needed them. I would highly recommend and we’ll definitely go again and recommend to our friends and family. The Marsala dessert wine was just fantastic.

Had a meal Thursday evening the food and service was first class and good value for money, recommend.

Lovely birthday lunch for granddaughter's birthday today. Their lunch deal is amazing value and the waiters charming. They even coped with the 3 year old (also charming)

Table for six, celebrating my daughter's birthday. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were very well looked after. Ambiance and lighting was perfect and it's so nice to spend quality time in a non-chain restaurant. We were seated and given food and a drinks' menu to mull over and didn't feel rushed to decide on food. Good choice of wines and beer, but the top marks go for the choice of gins available - including my favourite 'Gin Mare.' Starters served hot and tasty. Mains - top marks to the chef for perfectly cooked steak depending on personal choice, and the chicken valdostana is to die for. Desserts - profiteroles were stunning. A lovely touch from the staff, they placed a candle in my daughter's dessert, dimmed the lights and fellow diners sang Happy Birthday to her. My only negative is about fellow diners (and there were a few tonight) who felt they had to speak in record-breaking decibels to their friends sat next to them, but this is no reflection on the restaurant. We will definitely be back again, and look forward to the amazing dining experience. Thank you Gianni's.

Booking was easy. Parking close by (although drinks were very reasonably priced so the car will stay at home next time) Had an amazing fresh seafood salad to start and a pasta dish that was full of flavour and plentiful, followed by a perfect coffee. Service was friendly and polite. Would certainly recommend.

I went here for a work lunch today, I haven’t been in a while but the food was just as amazing as I remembered! It was great value and the service was second to none. I would would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for great food!

What a great little place! Not sure about the reviews saying there was no atmosphere, the place was bouncing when we were there. It was so loud you could hardly talk, but it was all people chatting and having fun. Good menu, service is by a proper Italian so you can speak Italian if you wish, food was great with really well cooked seafood so no complaints at all. We had 3 courses plus limoncello, which we don't often do, so it gives you an idea how nice the food was. Would definitely recommend, and we've been to Primavera a few times, so food wise, this definitely ranks up there even if Primavera may seem decorated better inside. Go, experience and make up your own mind 🙂

The food here is brilliant, it’s tasty, fresh and absolutely full of flavour. However over the past few years (myself and family have been visiting since it opened) the service has become nothing short of abysmal. Rude staff, long wait times to be attended to when trying to pay, get a new drink etc. Tried to send back a dish to be told there was nothing wrong with it, asked why we hadn’t eaten all of our meal (potentially very stressful for an individual to be asked this). We have even been back despite food poisoning in the past as we love the food so much. We just wish the atmosphere and staff friendliness matched it.

First time coming here as a pre-wedding meal. As we was a medium sized group of 9 we paid a deposit of £10 each. The food took a little while to come but everything is cooked fresh and delivered with exuberance. 110% will come back again. Worst Italian restaurant ever, completely overpriced boring food which a two year old could make. Nearly £5 for a single half pint of Merretti. What a lovely little hidden gem. Had a birthday meal here and the food and service were spot on. We arrived slightly earlier than our reservation but we were still seated straight away. A cosy Italian restaurant with a really good range of interesting and delicious dishes. My gluten free requirements were met with a very strong assurance that I could have pretty well anything on the menu. Staff were very knowledgeable and efficient, as well as welcoming and friendly. An excellent meal with outstanding service. The manager even crawled on the floor to help look for a missing hearing aid. A serviette dropped on the floor was immediately replaced. Pleasant, welcoming place. Highly recommend.

Great food, lovely staff, would have been a lovely relaxing atmosphere, if it wasn't for the loud mouthed female customer who was clearly out on a Christmas party night. She insisted on making herself heard with her annoying laugh and booming voice which was clearly disturbing all the other customers in the restaurant and not just myself. Nice vibe, decent service really bad food. Not bad ingredients; the steak was solid but the soup tasted worse than canned, the carbornara was curdled, the wine hot and poorly stored and the salad served dry and wilted. Ice cream and grappa highlight.

Found this little place via Google! Didn't look much from outside but it didn't disappoint. There was quite a big party in, but they found a table for us. They asked us to move to fit in another party and gave us free drinks for moving ☺️ food was delicious. Small restaurant but great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Six of us enjoyed a great evening at Gianni to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was our first visit, yet throughout we were treated like old friends. You've got to try the chocolate mousse, it's delicious. Had a lovely evening, with superb food and wine. Would highly recommend. And will be returning when visiting Cheltenham again.

The worst Italian restaurant ever! I went there for lunch with a friend, my carbonara was absolutely disgusting because was super starchy and over cooked, my friend's mozzarella in carrozza was very oily, and the owner was really rude and unpleasant he told me off because I paid with coins and not in cash (paper) apparently all the costumers for him are just a number, unless you are happy to spend a 100 £ bill. A slap in the face to the Italian cousin and culture.

Great food at great prices. Handy car park opposite the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. My wife loves Giannis and visits as often as possible. We would recommend this restaurant for a pre theatre meal.
