Zizzi - Cheltenham in Cheltenham

Lovely food, we came mid week and the atmosphere was nice busy but not overly so you can have a quiet word with your dining partner! Lydia did a fantastic job, she was very friendly and attentive :)

went for a birthday of my friend's and we had such a wonderful time - our server was kate and she was fantastic not to mention imcredibly funny and kind . still need to make a note of where your bowls are from as well !!

I’ve only been once and had pizza and some starters. It’s not the best food you’ve ever had but it’s a good 4/5. The interior is amazing, I will definitely come back to try something other than pizza.

Choose this as a treat for my 15 year old. Zizzis' Chelt was shocking. Left feeling hungry, ripped off, and totally uncared for. It's been along time since I've had such a bad dining experience. They seemed keener on geting the deliveroo orders out. Main meals were around £19 but portion size was like a starter and not that tasty. Writing this to save others from wasting their money and time. Booo!

How cool is it to eat in an old church? It was such an amazing experience—something I never thought I’d come across! I have to give credit to Zizzi for always surprising me with these unique spots. We stumbled upon this church-turned-restaurant in Cheltenham, and we didn’t hesitate for a second before going in. The experience was awesome. If you’re in Cheltenham, I highly recommend stopping by for a pizza. You won’t need to pray for the food to be good because it’s Zizzi, and they never disappoint!”

Everything was great. Especially the place is amazing.

Came here with my family and was a car crash from the outset. Was greeted by a girl at the front who looked like she’d never smiled in her life. We told her that we didn’t have a booking and she looked at us like we’d shot her cat … she then said there was no space and we proceeded to look around at about 50 empty tables. After a bit of commotion, eventually the manager on duty, Steve came over to save the day and offer us a table. Happy we were to finally be seated, we ended up regretting as although the food was fine, the service received from the team, and in particular Steve, was awful. I’d never seen such unhelpful and unhappy people at a restaurant… it felt like we were more at a funeral! We used to attend here back in the day when there was beautiful piano music being played by a young man, the venue was busy and the service was amazing. 0/10 for Steve and his team as we would’ve had better service walking around a graveyard. Will not be returning. I also hear the staff turnover here is quite high and delivery drivers refuse to pick up orders from here due to the way they are treated. I wouldn’t be surprised!

Bit disappointed, waitress took order and said she could make a pasta dish with veg and white sauce. And then it has hardly any veg. Some of the dishes were also not warm enough. Pizza that we ordered didn't have peppers and they didn't even add it.

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday at the start of august on a Friday night. Didn’t have a booking but we were quickly and easily sat down. We all ordered starters and mains. Our starters came quickly and I had the meatballs which were delicious and a good portion. Would order again. Then, for mains I ordered the pizza rustics with goats cheese and balsamic onions - delicious. However, the service time on the pizzas was slightly drawn out. I’m not certain how long exactly we were waiting for food but it was definitely a long time. The table next to us (also a table to 3) managed to be seated around the time we finished starters and got their food, and finished in the time that we were waiting. I am aware that they possibly forgot about our order, which is okay, mistakes happen. However, it would’ve been nice if this was explained to us. Instead we ended up being here for around 3 hours, mostly waiting for our pizzas. Anyway, food was good and would recommend the pizzas and meatballs, will have to come back to try cocktails!

Been a few times and always been good but it was a disappointment this weekend. It took over 20 mins to get drinks (saw them in the bar for ages and servers just kept walking past) long waits to give our order and then 40 minutes to get food. It wasn't full but we noticed take out meals flying out so they clearly put that first. Food was OK but not worth the price tbh and as we were there for a birthday it was a real shame. Few wrong drinks etc as well. There was clearly a staff issue as there was only 2 waitresses and one bar staff on for the majority of our time there. Who were lovely but clearly struggling. Our table spent over 300 pounds and definitely wasn't worth it.

Lydia was an amazing server very attentive. Nothing was too much. She was very helpful with a change in order. Could not ask for a better server.

A great experience at Zizzi Cheltenham. Firstly what a beautiful restaurant in an old Church. Tom took my two bookings for the two consecutive nights. On the second night he was also our waiter. He has a good energy and was very helpful all evening. We both had a pizza which was very large and delicious. The evening before I tried the Sicilian salmon which was quite nice followed by chocolate and lemon and panacotta icecream which was lovely.

We came in today without a booking. Welcomed in and sat down lovely table loads of options for us and the kids, fantastic service from Tom start to finish!! Food was very good! Will be back again!

Quiet night, so difficult to get a buzzing atmosphere on a Wednesday night, so to be expected! Beautiful venue. Tom, our server, was really enthusiastic. Employ more people with ADHD! Thanks, too, to the other staff who added a candle to our son's cake & made the evening special for him.

Superb atmosphere & building, staff were very attentive friendly. The food was out of this world. The best Italian meal I have ever had, (Sept 2020). We have just visited again 9 months later, (June 2021) and the service was still outstanding as before. The food was awesome, we could not fault anything. For an authentic Italian experience it was bang on the money. Well we’re here again in April 2024 the 30th & our host Tom was very attentive polite and courteous. Superb service yet again and the food was amazing. Love coming here when we visit Cheltenham. Here we are again in Zizi Cheltenham our most favourite restaurant of all time. Service is amazing as always and the food was to die for (excuse the expression). Stunning location, awesome cuisine & service above and beyond. 29/7/2024. 5 Star all the way & a big thankyou to our hostess Savannah.

Yes, excellent atmosphere being in an old church but the atmosphere does not make up for poor service and bad food. We ordered the "Rustic Margarita" pizza...umm, a basic cheese pizza is NOT a margarita pizza. Also, we requested it with mushrooms, not added. They took it away when we called this to their attention only to bring it back cold with a few canned mushrooms sprinkled on top! No apology at all for the error. The final straw, they tried to add an automatic 10% tip to the bill! Avoid this place, too many other wonderful choices nearby.

We had a lovely family meal here today. Served by Savannah who was really welcoming and friendly. She was very helpful while we made our choices. Both food and service were great. Baby friendly venue as well, our grandson really enjoyed himself. I'm sure he can't wait until he is old enough to sample pizza or pasta! One downside their coffee machine is broken and it would have been nice to finish off with a coffee.

Just visited Zizzi's in Cheltenham for a birthday lunch for my wife's birthday. The food was fabulous, well presented and piping hot. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful and made the whole experience lovely. Thank you for making her birthday a treat.

The best Italian pizza, pasta and salads! The garlic bread is so good! Savannah was amazing and all of the staff are so pleasant and helpful! They make you feel so welcome and feels like they love what they do! Atmosphere is perfect. Great experience and a must to do!

Great service and food in a beautiful looking venue

Awful service. Got notified rider was at restaurant at 7.25pm but food didn't get delivered. App kept updating with a later and later delivery time been though the restaurant explained that the rider hadn't turned up (they did try to help me). There's no way of contacting anyone from just eat to get another rider. Eventually the food turned up just before 9pm but was not fresh or hot and by then it was too late to want to eat.The rider did not explain where he had been for over 1.5 hours even tho I asked 3 times. Please provide a full refund plus compensation

We went for lunch today and the food was really yummy, really nice interior and so much choice. Savannah was our waitress and she was so lovely, bubbly and attentive! We will definitely be back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Me and my friend came Tuesday 11th June. They were really busy bless the team but they absolutely smashed it. Speedy service and really kind staff. Whoever the manager on shift was did a great job of leading the team. Food was banging!! Thank you!!!!

This is a little outside of the main shopping area which may account for us being the only ones there on a Thursday lunch time. But it is so worth the effort. What a place! A converted church keeping many of the original features. Makes for a unique and atmospheric dining experience. Pizzas excellent (I had the lower calorie Chicken which was surprisingly ample as well as delicious). The service was also excellent (yes I know it was just us) but the waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back and I would highly recommend. Also a lovely walk through beautiful streets from main shopping area.

Wow!! This place is just gorgeous! A stunning space. We visited on Tuesday evening. The young lady who served us was so beautiful - a welcoming, vibrant and energetic personality who was so willing to do all she could to make our experience wonderful. Then there was the food...my goodness. The best vegan pizza we have ever tasted - the rustics vegan harissa 'meatball'. The best vegan lasagne we've ever eaten - vegan rainbow lasagne. This food was next level delicious and clearly made with great care. Thank you for a wonderful experience, Zizzi!

Honestly can’t rate Zizis highly enough. We ordered 8 different things off the menu and there were none that disappointed us! The pizzas were cooked perfectly and the pasta was a decent sized portion. Our waitress was lovely and service was nice and fast. Such a lovely setting in the church and just a really nice restaurant overall. Would definitely recommend trying the garlic bombe- absolutely delicious!

Can’t tell you bad this was. The only saving grace was the lovely waitress!!! We arrived & waited at least 5 minutes for a very abrupt male (I assume the manager!!!!) to show us to the table. The waitress came & took our order, drinks came reasonably quickly & 2 salad starters arrived 20 mins later!! 40 mins later I asked how long our main courses would be & was told 5-6 mins they eventually arrived 15 minutes later. 55mins between finishing starter & them arriving!!!! To describe the food as below average Is an understatement. It was pretty awful. My pasta was certainly reheated by microwave or other means & was rubbery & chewy. Whilst we were waiting there was always a queue of deliveroo men or other, most had masks & hoodies on which could be intimidating for some. As it was a warm evening was a little confusing as to why wear this. Maybe they should be made to wait outside the building & customers inside the restaurant become a priority. Not a relaxing atmosphere to eat in with all staff charging around to keep up!!! Not even the wonderful building could take away from all the other shortfalls. Would not visit a Zizzi anywhere again!!!

Visited Zizzi with my wife for dinner while we were in Cheltenham. The restaurant is in a very impressive old church and is an unusual venue. It is a large restaurant but when we visited (about 17.30 to 19.00 on a Saturday evening) it was quite busy. Not packed, but obviously a popular place for families and couples to visit. We arrived a little before the time we had booked, but that was no problem. The best thing about the venue, apart from the food that was as good as Zizzi meals always are, was the excellent service. Becky, who I think was the manager on duty, was great - very welcoming, efficient and friendly, as were the staff. I always think that restaurants with happy staff must be well managed. If there is such a connection this restaurant must be extremely well managed. Definitely well worth 5 stars!!!

I have spent 50 years on the restaurant business and tonight I think I had the worst service I have ever experienced it was woeful. No excuse whatsoever except bad sloppy and couldn’t care less management

We felt like having an easy and quick bite on a Sunday evening during a Bank Holiday weekend, but it was easier than we thought. A Zizzi has settled in this former church. What a location, really cool. The food is nice. We had a pizza with harissa chicken and a burrata tomato salad. All taste great and are quickly on the table.

Haven’t been back for awhile and was pleased with the good quality of food and great atmosphere. Lovely building. Prices seem a bit high but it was a celebration night.
