Thalia is a very pleasant and cheerful waitress. We were well received and the meal was very good. Good value for money! Place with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant and the Diavola pizza!

Spagetti House is theoretically Italian Restaurant, but the manager is English, cook is an English, his helper African, waitress English and an African. I ordered Linguini Frutti Di Mare and a glass of Italian white wine. Well... local is good located, decent size, decent tables and a chairs and a clean set. Lovely Italian music... But... my linguine wasnt boild in salt water. They forgotten to add salt wo water with linguini. They used choped british tomatoes for a sous, not much frutti di mare, only a few prawn... They gave me a little bit of Italian parmigiano on the top, but they didnt bother even of basil and rest of seson... like a hospital food without no taste. Very small portion as cannot satisfy even woman stomach and Im not monstrual big woman. I had to order two dishes for myself to feel satisfied with a portion... White Italian wine delicious, i ordered two glasses, at home I would take a whole bottle. Beautiful Italian music, but at 22:00 they stopped playing music. I played them Marino Marini song Nie placz kiedy odjadę, sercem będę przy Tobie... and can you belive it... they never hear of Marino Marini... they thinking, that it's Polish immigrant and then I realized, that something it's not ok. How Italian people cannot recognized one of the most famouse Italian singer as all Poland love him soo much... You understand, It's Marino Marini, best Italian Ambasador as we ever had in Poland and they don't know Him! It's not Italian, it's English version of Italian food for a English people. I had a decent, real Italian food in Gino's. Lovely Italian woman cook so good and a tasty food in Gino's in Oxford. £68 for a not salted linguini... disaster. Drink a lot of water and you will quickly forget about this disaster. Next time I will cook at home.

Our group of 5 enjoyed our authentic Italian lunch at the Goodge Street venue, our first visit to this location having previously used the Sicilian Avenue restaurant. The service provided to us was very good and as it is conveniently located we would certainly use it again.

I have been a regular at the Spaghetti House in Goodge Street since I first came to London in 1972 when I was at college around the corner in Bedford Sq. It has always been a treat. My fondest memories are of the wonderful welcoming entrance doors with their bowing figures (now inside) and making zabaglione in front of us in the copper pan. Wonderful! The food is consistently good and staff always make us feel comfortable. We are delighted that it is still around in these increasingly competitive days.

Please avoid this restaurant, the food was lovely and the service was fine but we spotted a mouse running around and flagged it to the waiter and he did nothing about it and didn’t seem shocked.

I went to The Spaghetti House with some friends on a busy Saturday. The food was okay but definitely on the pricey side for what we got. What really made the night better was our server, Talia. She was super friendly and really attentive, which made up for the average food. Overall, the service was great, even if the food wasn’t anything special.

My best friend and I used to frequent this when we were studying in London circa 30 yrs ago. We loved it then for a fabulous food, amazingly friendly staff and the authentic Italian experience. We can honestly say it is still the fabulous restaurant we remembered. Thoroughly recommend that you visit

Great venue. I organised a reunion for 18 nurses who trained at UCH in the 1970s. This was a favourite place to eat back then. The process was easy and the staff helpful and very keen to make our event a success. We chose from the event menu and the baked prawns, ravioli and salmon with lentils were firm favourites. I was a bit disappointed with my escalope as a bit dry and could have done with some veg or sauce. Service was excellent with warm friendly and efficient staff. Thank you Maria and Renato you were brilliant.

I organised a 50 year Reunion for a group of ex UCH nurses as back in the 1970’s the Spaghetti House was a favourite place for us all to eat. The staff could not have been more helpful. They were kind, good humoured and well organised. Big thanks to Maria and Renato two stars. We had the room on the 4th floor and on a sunny afternoon had the windows open. We ate from the set menu and the baked prawn starter and salmon with lentils were favourites. Deserts all lovely. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my escalope and potato dish a bit dry and boring.

Super friendly staff and delicious food!

The table was dirty, no any spoon and fork, no any Parmesan cheese no any salts an pepper and I paid 29 pounds for one portion and one glass of wine

They gave us the old menu to order our food from and then when the bill arrived we were charged more expensive prices; when we questioned this we were told the prices were from the new menu. We were not told about this until we questioned nor were we given an apology.

They scammed us by having two menus. They showed a supposedly old menu which had slightly cheaper prices and then on the final bill, it had prices of the so-called “new menu”. They were not apologetic about this mix up and acted as if it was our fault for bringing up the discrepancy. Food was good but not worth it for the price. Wouldn’t go again.

Eating here goes back to the 60s for me I brought a friend explaing to her yours was the one italian eatery where I didnt mind propping up the table with a folded beer mat. I was used to that over the years. Sadly my chicken was very chewy but you were exemplary in your dealing with that. Other than that,it was still lovely and you also took on board my request as I have hidden disabilities. Would not hesitate to return and thank you again for your service.

Very rude manager. Not even ask how we are, how is the food. Keep on coming back to our table to kick us out. Blaming us that they could not accommodate other customers because of our booking. Literally just forcing us to finish our food. Rushing us to order food. Really had a horrific birthday party for my mom. I was just disgusted how the manager treated us.

NOT FOR ANYONE WITH ALLERGIES! Pea and shallot ravioli in cherry tomato sauce There was a bit of a kerfuffle because the allergen menu pretty much states everything contains egg and milk and if you have an allergy you just can't eat here but I was already here! I decided to chance it despite the waiter telling me about the allergens because the dish I chose was vegan and I don't usually have issues with cross contamination. But I am certain the levels of cross contamination here (as the waiter warned me) are veryy high because I was reacting to the ravioli. Which is rare for me when eating vegan food having specified I have an allergy. But I wouldn't suggest going here if you have any kind of an allergy. The dish itself was lovely the ravioli was cooked to perfection and the pea filling was really fresh tasting. The sauce was the same, the tomatoes were very tomatoey. There was just the right amount to be full but not stuffed.

Spaghetti House on Oxford Street was a huge disappointment. Despite the central location, the restaurant failed to deliver on almost every front. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive, taking an unusually long time to take our order and even longer to bring the food. When the dishes finally arrived, the pasta was overcooked and bland, lacking any real flavor or seasoning. The portions were small for the high prices, leaving us unsatisfied and frustrated. Additionally, the overall ambiance was lackluster, with dated decor and cramped seating. I expected much better from a restaurant in such a prime location. I won't be returning and certainly wouldn't recommend it to others.

If you want to get away from Asian food and fish and chips or pubs, it's a good option. Well-cooked pasta (we didn't eat pizza) and options to drink wine by the glass. They also have good cider. Fast service

Writing as a couple that was looking for a place to eat some starters and have a bottle of wine. The Spaghetti House delivered on both. The olives and the carpaccio were both very tasty! Pricing wise they are quite cheap for what you are getting. Also, the location was great to sit and people watch, chat about our day and make plans for more in the coming week. Very cozy outside seating. Inside is a bit cramped, but the flavors and the scents of the food are just amazing! We will be back for lunch and dinner in the coming days.

Nous nous sommes régalés : spaghettis carbos et linguines, Au top. Puis desserts...un régal! Tout était parfait pour un repas en famille! Nous y retournons demain...

The most friendly staff ever! Good food, for a good price. Esspecialy the kids menu is great value for money. Both pasta and pizza tasted good. Drinks are quite expensive, compared to other European countries at least, but they also serve water for free.

Yesterday we visited as a group of 13 - eight elderly Japanese English language students and their teacher, (who’s my brother), and some family. The young lady waitress served us very attentively and expertly, the whole experience being most delightful!

Our party of 12 had a great time. The upstairs room we had was very nice. Well decorated and laid out. The food was well organised and was very good Italian dishes. Nobody was rushing to get us away. All in all we had a good time

I visted Spaghetti House with my daughters whilst we were visiting London. One of my daughters is coeliac so we were pleased that gluten free pasta was listed on the menu. We enjoyed the olives which were Nocellara marinated in garlic and chilli - delcious. I started with the minestrone which was a gorgeous and perfectly seasoned tomato broth filled with potatoes, beans, onions, leek, carrots, parsley and el dente ditali pasta. Next I enjoyed a generous portion of Spaghetti al pomodoro. We ate early so took adavtage of the 2 for 1 cocktails - the Hugo is highly recommended. Service was exemplary - attentive and polite. Can't wait to visit again.

I booked for 12 people on a weekday. The food choices were really good and everyone enjoyed what they had chosen. The desserts were lovely too. I would revisit if I was in this area again.

The Manager Puneet is extremely friendly and helpful. His service is fabulous and super professional. I would come back here just to be served by him as he is so polite.

Me and a friend had dinner at Spaghetti House Goodge street and It was honestly one of the best experiences i’ve had at an Italian restaurant in London. The atmosphere and food was great, and our server Rebecca was excellent and gave us some amazing recommendations. She was so attentive and knowledgeable which made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I reccommend the Arrabbiata with extra chili and garlic, and their chocolate cake is delicious. We will be coming back for sure!

The pasta was very bad. I didn't eat it and asked them to take it away, saying the pasta was bad. However, it was still included in the bill, and they didn't even apologize. The olives weren't very good either. They added a lot of oil and pepper for some reason. The atmosphere in the place is not cozy. I don’t recommend this place.

I grew up in Grafton Way nearby your restaurant, and in the late fifties and most of the sixties I ate regularly with my parents at your restaurant, and was always a good meal. Yesterday 3 June, I was in your restaurant with my daughter and two grandchildren. My daughter ordered a pizza and my grandchildren a carbonara spaghetti, I ordered a veal escalope as I always did those many years ago. The pizza was as expected, but the carbonara spaghetti was bland and we ended taking it home in a box as the girls just pecked at it, and generally felt it was unappetising. Regarding the veal which I have eaten much of at your establishment in the distance past, was on appearance a dark shade of brown and obviously over cooked plus the veal it's self was tough, which I find strange bearing in mind that I have never eaten a tough veal. The shape of the meat was also strange, usually it has been roughly round in shape and a pleasure to eat, which this wasn't, also it was a long and narrow cut. Perhaps I'm missing out on this and you now cut veal differently, so l'm not sure of your present day way of presenting veal. Just felt I ought to let you know my feelings, overall service good, but food left something to be desired.

Very expensive for a dish of spaghetti. Told we had to have a reservation. We were sitting outside very cold. then We were moved inside when all of the reservations cancelled. We should’ve taken the warning and gone somewhere else.

Been here many times but never again. Food now overpriced and poor: rubbery calamari, pasta mediocre and pizza gloopy. Not a single smile from all four staff members on a Saturday night where restaurant was quiet. Judging by the number of customers, this dining experience was not a one-off- such a shame what has happened to what was once a lovely restaurant.

I had my 75th birthday lunch on 15 June, 14 of us - three of my four siblings, all younger, three daughters, grandhildren, partners. I also had my 70th birthday with you. Delicious lunch, and your chef prepared my favouraite, Spaghetti Aglio Olio Peperoncino for me, even though it is not on the menu!

I don't often give 5 stars but you deserve them in all categories. I have not been in a Spaghetti House for some year but it just seemed like it was in the 1960s and 1970s and the food was just as good. I think you invented the idea of chains of trattorias in England and you are probably still the best of your sort.

The food was well presented and very tasty but the portions were less than generous. Unfortunately the service was poor. They need to learn to engage with their customers and show some warmth so you feel comfortable and welcomed. Took order, dropped off food and drinks and couldn't care less about our experience. So when the bill arrived with 13.5% service charge I asked them to take it off. If looks could kill!! If you expect people to pay for service then provide a better level of service. Will obviously not be returning.

Good atmosphere and lasagna but rude service. The carbonara was more akin to Elmer's glue than the classic Italian dish. Also appeared to be reheated. This restaurant also doesn't want your money apparently, it was a struggle to get the bill.

As an Italian looking for a taste of home, I recently visited Spaghetti House with high hopes. Good location, good ambiance. I am afraid it was not the same for the food. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the staff. We only had to wait 5 minutes outside. The service was good and friendly. We have tried some starters (fried squid and dough balls), and left us very happy. However, the pasta dishes left us disappointed. I got a carbonara and although made with eggs and cream remained very dry. My son's pasta with tomato sauce was good but the sauce tasted like it came from a jar! Also, the prices were higher than expected, especially considering the quality of the dishes. While the pasta may have fallen short of my expectations, I cannot deny the excellence of the starters and the commendable service provided by the staff, only reason for the three stars (average).

Been going to spaghetti houses for years and years both in goodge street and Sicilian avenue,but on this occasion I was told that I can't have veal escalope with spaghetti Bolognese but I can have veal escalope with pomodore sauce when I asked why I can't have Bolognese sauce instead of pomodore sauce I was told sorry it's the company policy so we cancelled the order and went elsewhere

Had a lovely dinner here – we were sat upstairs by the windows and the ambience was really cosy and intimate. Staff are super welcoming and the food was delicious – tasty (and generous) pastas and a particular shoutout to the gamberi starter in tomato sauce!

Why 3 stars...? Great food! Great service! So why 3 stars overall...???? Well usually when I go to a restaurant and I see the price of a meal i expect it to be what is on the menu. In today's case the spaghetti carbonara cost £16.95... then the bill was £19.24... with this little note on the bill "13.5% service charge". First time ever.

I have enjoyed eating at the Spaghetti House for over 40 Years since I was a student. The food has always been reliably good And the atmosphere friendly. But twice recently, I have been disappointed by both the service and the quality of the food. The standard and the choice for vegetarians seem both to have deteriorated. Recently six friends and I met for a reunion lunch at the Spaghetti House. Some had travelled from outside London and were a little late, but the four of us, who were there on time, were hassled, somewhat aggressively, by the floor manager to order immediately on the basis that the restaurant would be very busy. We would have preferred to wait until everyone had arrived, but felt obliged to order quickly. The restaurant never seemed to get particularly busy on this wet Tuesday lunchtime. At the end of the meal, the floor manager made an inappropriate comment to one of the women in the group regarding her attractiveness. We shall not be coming to the spaghetti house again. I should point out that all the other staff were very polite and efficient.

Ate here after a fabulous event at RADA. Sadly it was just OK. Service staff didn't seemed bothered and forgot drinks, they also didn't seem to know what gluten was when I asked for GF options. Turned out there was no GF starter (other than small bowl of olives) and no GF dessert option, which kinda put rest of party off having one too. Main was alright but nothing special. Decent price for London though.

Regrettably, The Spaghetti House, once a cherished spot for delectable Italian fare, seems to have lost its luster. My recent visit was a disheartening reminder of its better days. The lack of enthusiasm from both the manager and the waiting staff was unmistakable. Their indifference translated into a painfully slow and disinterested service. Empty plates sat in front of us for what felt like an eternity, as the staff neglected to clear them or check in with us throughout our meal. In the past, The Spaghetti House was known for its reasonably priced dishes and consistently delicious food. However, the quality has taken a sharp nosedive. The once-beloved meatball dish, has been given a makeover and is now, frankly inedible. The overall mediocrity of the food, coupled with the sudden surge in prices, was a bitter disappointment. It's evident that The Spaghetti House is in dire need of a revamp, starting with a thorough reassessment of its staff. Without a motivated and attentive team, the future looks bleak. As a longtime patron, it pains me to say that after years of enjoyable meals, I won't be returning. It's a shame to bid farewell to this classic, but without swift improvements, The Spaghetti House risks losing its loyal customer base altogether.

I visited your restaurant with 5 friends on Friday evening It was cold and drafty . About an hour after leaving the restaurant I began to feel unwell and have been in bed with food poisoning for two days. Not my best experience, I used to visit the restaurant many years ago and thought it a good idea to return, I wish I had not.I had the ravioli

Enjoyed a lovely tasty meal here. The garlic bread was lovely and fresh, as was my husband's pizza and my lasagne. The servers were very attentive so our drinks and meal were delivered in a timely manner. All very satisfactory. Thank you!

We’ve been coming here for 25+ years. Consistently good food. Pasta al dente. Prices fair, with the exception of House Red which, although perfectly drinkable, at £30 is unreasonable. Popular with teens.

Our party of 5 were treated to the window table we preferred and had excellent service from the waitress, Meadow. The food was very tasty and our order was delivered to our table in a short time. We were not rushed and had a very pleasant evening. Highly recommended.

Well, what can I say about Spaghetti House? We visited on New Year's Eve, and following the reviews on here, we were looking forward to a great meal. Let's start with the service first. The waiting staff were depressing, not a single smile (yes, I know it was New Year's Eve and you are working), they all looked like they wanted to be anywhere but at the restaurant. Not even the basics like asking if everything was OK with our food after bringing it to our table. The pasta was under-cooked. I know Al Denté, but this was not it. We sat fairly close to the kitchen, and I was disappointed to see how often the freezer was used! Overall, the food was pretty poor in terms of taste and quality, with the pasta undercooked, the sauce too salty, and chips that came out of the freezer. Add to that the miserable service, the high price (relative to the quality and service), and the high (13.5% 😱) "optional" but not "discretionary" service charge, and I struggle to see how this restaurant a) is still in business b) to my shock, is a chain with multiple branches, and c) has an overall rating of 4.0. One to avoid, and certainly not somewhere I will be going back to.
