What a hidden gem! This cozy little Italian restaurant delights with authentic flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable as well. Edit: we are going to eat at the same place again the next day because we loved it so much.

Visited this amazing little restaurant on Saturday-May 17th. We were in London celebrating a birthday and staying near Piccadilly Circus. We had prebooked our reservation and we were not disappointed. The staff were exceptionally attentive, kind, flexible and friendly. We had a 3 course meal with a bottle of white wine. Simply beautiful food, from starter to desert, washed down with chilled wine & an Irish coffee… why not ! We had prawns & squid to start, then Salmon & Carbonara for main, with Pistachio Ice cream & Tiramisu for desert. I made a special request to change the Salmon alforno to Arribiatta sauce which was kindly provided and amazing. This is a beautiful quaint restaurant- one you may not choose to visit, however I absolutely recommend it. Thank you to all the team for looking after us with a beautiful meal. Micky & Mel.

Small, friendly, cozy place for a late lunch after being tired out by the British Museum ( and skipping the overpriced afternoon tea there). Delicious soup, salad, trout and chicken, so good we stayed for coffee and a very good apple pie dessert. We were welcomed for a long stay, at reasonable prices. Overall very nice.

My experience at this place was terrible. The staff was unfriendly, and the pizza tasted awful. I asked for my leftover food to be packed, but instead, they gave me an empty small cardboard box. I didn’t enjoy my meal at all.

Smallish Italian restaurant with a lot of character. Rustic look, with deep red/green and exposed brick walls and white painted window frames. The light windows on 2 sides keeps it light and airy. However, look around and you would be forgiven for thinking you were back in time! A decades old restaurant, with top wooden tables on black iron wrought legs. Indeed you don't see that very often anymore! The chairs, it seems as old as the tables, complement them perfectly well. Some of the colourful seats have seen better times, not less comfy for that. Just adds to the character. But it's the food that really sings. Starters: calamari and octopus. Both perfectly cooked and delicious. Calamari light pastry and octopus sauce well accomplished. Main of seafood linguine. Wow! Arguably the best i've ever eaten. The combination of flavours and textures sang in harmony. And for dessert? Homemade tiramisu, delicious, a fitting end to a delicious meal. All in a setting of Italian background music from almost a bygone era... In brief, one of the most authentic Italian restaurants. Nothing sophisticated, just good quality ingredients, perfectly cooked, resulting in flavoursome and well presented dishes. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place with very good food and great service.

Visited from the US and wanted a delicious authentic Italian meal. This was it, 100%! Great, cozy atmosphere. Delicious appetizers (get the garlic bread and hot oil). The portions aren't enormous (I'm American and we do ridiculously large portions), but were definitely enough! Highly recommend!!!

This is a beautiful little place to eat! My wife and I loved this atmosphere.

Every dish we ordered—brochette, mushroom risotto, and pasta tagliatelle ai fungi—was delicious and well-seasoned, perfectly catering to our love of flavorful food.👌

I had the Penne all' Amatraciana, it was very nice and had a lovely sauce which included bacon. Also complementary parmesan (not incl in photo) was great. Staff were nice and welcoming. Overall a great place to go to for a dinner.

Came in for lunch today. The restaurant is very nice and a great welcome when I arrive at the door. I was seating by the waitress and show me the menu. This restaurant is very cosy and got table outside if customers decided to eat outside. I order a Fiorentina pizza and a drink, when I finish I order a Tiramisu which was homemade from the restaurant and single espresso, all was very good and tasty. They offer also a lunch deal menu. When you visiting the Museum which is 2 minutes from the restaurant I highly recommend here for lunch at Il Castelletto.

Pasamos por Il Castelletto varias veces y pensamos “que se ve precioso - la próxima vez que nos apetezca italiano, vamos a reservar allí” Y así lo hicimos... En el lado positivo: La bienvenida estaba bien. La cerveza Morretti estaba bien. El vino estaba bien. El servicio estaba bien. En el lado negativo: La comida era atroz! Cero sabor en el entrante de pan de pizza de ajo o en el tagliatelle de hongos - ¡era como si se hubieran quedado sin ajo! El queso parmesano que ofrecían era insípido y el queso en el cohete y la ensalada parmesana parecían provenir de una bolsa de queso pre-rallado, como cosas de un supermercado local. No me gusta escribir malas críticas, pero esto fue muy, muy decepcionante. Nunca comas en un restaurante con menús laminados.

Lovely little restaurant just along from the British museum. Managed to get a table for 2 without a booking, Mel was so helpful. Food was delicious, service was exceptional. No hesitation in returning, maybe with a booking to avoid possible disappointment..!! Jen and Paul

I went there because the Korean reviews weren't bad, but it was the worst restaurant I've been to in London... The pasta wasn't seasoned at all, so I sprinkled salt and pepper on the table, but it still didn't taste good. It's my first time eating pasta that wasn't seasoned at all...;; At the London waterfront, 2 pasta, 1 salad, and 1 drink cost about 53 pounds.

FOOD POISONING I dined here yesterday with my friend and he was poisoned. He collapsed 3 hours afterwards and has been vomiting and seriously ill. Either his negroni was spiked, or his lasagne was contaminated/off. This needs to be resolved by a full refund at the minimum, and serious improvement to the restaurant is needed. This was a really horrible experience for us both and not the end to the week we had hoped for. Will not be returning.

We'd been out in London for the day and after a swift Google search discovered Il Castelletto nearby. The staff were lovely, the food delicious and not overpriced. We shared an antipasti plate then had chicken Milanese and linguine marinara : portion sizes were perfect and all super yummy. Thanks for a great dinner!

Date night at Il Castelletto, Bury Place. I recently visited Il Castelletto, located just off Bloomsbury Square Garden, for a date night with my partner, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and accommodating staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a fantastic evening. We started with fresh bread and a selection of antipasti, paired with a really nice cocktail that perfectly complemented the meal. For mains, my partner opted for the spaghetti carbonara, which they thoroughly enjoyed, while I had the salmon tagliatelle. The tagliatelle was absolutely lovely—rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was another highlight. The restaurant had a warm and inviting vibe, making it ideal for a cozy date night. Overall, Il Castelletto delivered on all fronts: great food, wonderful service, and an amazing ambiance. Great experience and great food. As an American I was disappointed with portion size, as a human I appreciate that they don’t feed people like we do in the states. Quality was supreme. Service was excellent. The guy made fun of us (light heartedly and in good fun) for my sister in law butchering the pronunciation of arrabiata. He was great to my nephew (7 year old). Great experience for sure.

The fish and chips doesn’t worth the money, it’s looking big but it’s empty inside, the waiters was very nice only they deserve 5 star,

Este pequeño y acogedor lugar tiene una gran ubicación muy cerca del Museo Británico, el personal es acogedor y amable, y el servicio eficiente. La comida, sin embargo, es muy predecible "italiano británico" de no gran distinción. Un plato compartido de embutidos tenía un pequeño trozo de Proscuitto, un poco de salami muy común y jamón del tipo que se puede conseguir en cualquier tienda de la esquina o supermercado barato. Para la alimentación, un risotto de Porcini al menos tenía un montón de porcini reales (así que espero que en esta época del año) y el risotto era suave y cremoso, quizás demasiado suave debido a lo que se había hecho para que fuera rápido de preparar. Un tortelloni de espinacas y ricota estaba sabroso pero nadando en demasiada salsa. En conjunto, el tipo de experiencia que podría haber sido interesante hace un par de décadas. No nos molestamos con el postre, y un expreso pasable completó la comida. Dos platos para dos, £ 50 por cabeza incluyendo vino y servicio, que es muy competitivo para los estándares del centro de Londres.

Book this restaurant and open table and we were told that they would need the full time to get our table ready which was fine because we arrived at 7:05. Our reservations were at 7:30 according to OpenTable be there 15 minutes earlier so it was 10 minutes, but they insisted that they would need the full 30 minutes or 25 if we’re being accurate here. Then I went on OpenTable and I looked for a reservation for four people and they had one available at 7:15. I had kids with me so it was very annoying that they were willing to see other people at 7:15 for a table for rather than us.

This place is fantastic. The vibe is warm and charming, creating such a lovely setting. The team is courteous and welcoming, always making sure you’re comfortable. The food is simply outstanding. Definitely worth a visit! Will come again!

The only downside to this restaurant is that you can't try everything on the menu at once! Best calamari I've ever had, with amazing tartare sauce, terrific chicken in mushroom sauce, with the most gorgeous potatoes.. combined with lovely pinot grigio and really friendly service! I've never yet had to book, either- probably because of their slightly out of the way location

This is a Wonderful restaurant very close to the British museum and Tottenham Court Road underground station. They have a wide selection of drinks available here and flavourful pasta dishes. The prices are respectable for inner city London however I feel that the bowls the pasta is served in are shallow and the portions could be better. I urge people to give this place a try. I will definitely be back sometime In the near future.

A un tiro de piedra del Museo Británico Il Castelletto ya no es de propiedad italiana, pero todavía funciona como un reciente italiano tradicional que ofrece platos de buena calidad de buenas materias primas. El fegato alla venezia (hígado) y el Funghetto Scaloppine eran platos fuertes saludables y sabrosos y no teníamos espacio para postres. Hay una corta carta de vinos italianos y Vermentino de Cerdeña era una buena combinación. A la hora del almuerzo hacen menús a precio fijo de muy buena relación calidad-precio a £ 21. 00 . El servicio es amable y servicial y aunque fue un sábado tranquilo por la noche la mayoría del tiempo están muy ocupados. Bien vale la pena una visita si estás en la zona.

A nice little restaurant with a rustic, cozy flair. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The menu is manageable, but varied. During our visit we had the Diavola pizza. This was the spiciest we have ever eaten. If you're looking for a small but nice Italian restaurant in London, you've come to the right place! 5 / 5 stars!
