Il Castelletto in Camden

We'd been out in London for the day and after a swift Google search discovered Il Castelletto nearby. The staff were lovely, the food delicious and not overpriced. We shared an antipasti plate then had chicken Milanese and linguine marinara : portion sizes were perfect and all super yummy. Thanks for a great dinner!

Date night at Il Castelletto, Bury Place. I recently visited Il Castelletto, located just off Bloomsbury Square Garden, for a date night with my partner, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and accommodating staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a fantastic evening. We started with fresh bread and a selection of antipasti, paired with a really nice cocktail that perfectly complemented the meal. For mains, my partner opted for the spaghetti carbonara, which they thoroughly enjoyed, while I had the salmon tagliatelle. The tagliatelle was absolutely lovely—rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was another highlight. The restaurant had a warm and inviting vibe, making it ideal for a cozy date night. Overall, Il Castelletto delivered on all fronts: great food, wonderful service, and an amazing ambiance. I would strongly recommend a visit!

Came here yesterday for the first time, with a friend after visiting the nearby British Museum. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable. We were very impressed and will definitely be coming back.

Great experience and great food. As an American I was disappointed with portion size, as a human I appreciate that they don’t feed people like we do in the states. Quality was supreme. Service was excellent. The guy made fun of us (light heartedly and in good fun) for my sister in law butchering the pronunciation of arrabiata. He was great to my nephew (7 year old). Great experience for sure.

The fish and chips doesn’t worth the money, it’s looking big but it’s empty inside, the waiters was very nice only they deserve 5 star,

Este pequeño y acogedor lugar tiene una gran ubicación muy cerca del Museo Británico, el personal es acogedor y amable, y el servicio eficiente. La comida, sin embargo, es muy predecible "italiano británico" de no gran distinción. Un plato compartido de embutidos tenía un pequeño trozo de Proscuitto, un poco de salami muy común y jamón del tipo que se puede conseguir en cualquier tienda de la esquina o supermercado barato. Very cozy experience in London with great service, would recommend!

Book this restaurant and open table and we were told that they would need the full time to get our table ready which was fine because we arrived at 7:05. Our reservations were at 7:30 according to OpenTable be there 15 minutes earlier so it was 10 minutes, but they insisted that they would need the full 30 minutes or 25 if we’re being accurate here. Then I went on OpenTable and I looked for a reservation for four people and they had one available at 7:15. I had kids with me so it was very annoying that they were willing to see other people at 7:15 for a table for rather than us.

This place is fantastic. The vibe is warm and charming, creating such a lovely setting. The team is courteous and welcoming, always making sure you’re comfortable. The food is simply outstanding. Definitely worth a visit! Will come again!

Very amazing pasta, pizza and desserts, highly recommend

The only downside to this restaurant is that you can't try everything on the menu at once! Best calamari I've ever had, with amazing tartare sauce, terrific chicken in mushroom sauce, with the most gorgeous potatoes.. combined with lovely pinot grigio and really friendly service! I've never yet had to book, either- probably because of their slightly out of the way location

This is a Wonderful restaurant very close to the British museum and Tottenham Court Road underground station. They have a wide selection of drinks available here and flavourful pasta dishes. The prices are respectable for inner city London however I feel that the bowls the pasta is served in are shallow and the portions could be better. I urge people to give this place a try. I will definitely be back sometime In the near future.

A nice little restaurant with a rustic, cozy flair. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The menu is manageable, but varied. During our visit we had the Diavola pizza. This was the spiciest we have ever eaten. If you're looking for a small but nice Italian restaurant in London, you've come to the right place! 5 / 5 stars!

El servicio es amable y servicial y aunque fue un sábado tranquilo por la noche la mayoría del tiempo están muy ocupados. Bien vale la pena una visita si estás en la zona.

Got a reservation done for seven which was confirmed through The Fork. Upon reaching the restaurant we were simply greeted with unwillingness to seat us saying we did not have reservations despite having in confirmed in the app. If the establishment does not want to seat larger groups or provide discounts through partner apps then simply don’t sign up for it. But letting people waste time planning and going there just to be fooled is beyond unprofessional. Do not recommend people to try it if they want a peaceful and good night.

very rude staff unfortunately. we made a booking for a group of 7 and as we arrived the host already said they did not get our reservation and didn't make any effort to accommodate us (even though there was plenty of free tables)

Service was good. Food was not good for italian standards. Pizza seemed frozen. The dough did not taste or feel hand made, it was not very tasty. Pasta was okay, very little portions. Will not return as I did not enjoy the food.

En 1990 - 1993, solía trabajar a la vuelta de la esquina de Il Castelletto y solía frecuentar este restaurante al menos una vez a la semana. Dejé el Reino Unido en 1994 para trabajar y vivir en Asia y visité Londres este mes. Por razones sentimentales arreglé para almorzar aquí después de 30 años! Mientras que la decoración y los hermanos propietarios italianos originales han cambiado, la comida todavía estaba cocinada fresca y el anfitrión / servicio actual era muy amable y bueno. Comienzo con las gambas a la parrilla (una porción de tamaño razonable) con los canelones y taglioni marinara como plato principal. Ambos platos estaban deliciosos. Me complace decir que los propietarios actuales continúan con la gran tradición de este restaurante. Bien hecho!

A review for Koreans! It was in front of the British Museum, so I just went in, but it was pretty good. I got 1 pizza, 1 pasta, and 1 drink, so it came out a little less than 70,000 Korean won including tip. It's expensive by Korean standards, but considering current prices in the UK, I think it's okay. The pizza was delicious and I think the pasta would be delicious if you choose it well. We were so so so!

Came here yesterday as a group of 10 and had a lovely time. My risotto was delicious, as were the dishes to my left and in front of me that I tasted! Service was excellent, the staff were attentive and friendly and our dishes came out in good time despite every table being occupied. Definitely coming back!

We discovered this restaurant by chance thanks to The Fork because it was close to the hotel where I stayed, and I must say that it was a pleasant discovery, I took a pizza with buffalo mozzarella while my family took a plate of pasta, a salad and a focaccia, all of excellent quality, fresh ingredients and excellent service, I highly recommend it.

A brilliant place for a meal after a visit of the British museum. Home made food and a quiet atmosphere with great music (if uou like European one) The staff is nice and the food is traditional Italian.

We ordered a pizza and a coke, which came hot 🥵 we had to drink it with ice. Communication was very difficult with the employee lacking patience. When the bill came the service fee was 12.5% ​​which I didn't think was fair since the service wasn't good, I asked to remove the fee and she said it was mandatory, I searched the internet afterwards and saw that it was optional. In general, I don't recommend it, the pizza is nothing good and the staff are in a bad mood.

Pretending to serve Italian food but far away from it. Paid 100£ for a pizza that was not tasty at all, saltimbocca alla romana that was nothing as it was supposed to be and very regular starters. Asked for a gin and tonic and got a Negroni instead. Told the waitress and she brought a vodka something! Please get some training on how to cook and look after clients paying good money for a dinner out in London after an intense week at work! Will never return and not recommended.

Located close to the British museum, there are a few small tables inside. Employees are concerned. Don't expect much flavor, their pizzas are average. They can't make Ağerol spritz well, I think this is the case in general in London. If you make a reservation through Fork, you can get up to 50% discount on food. There are no discounts on drinks, so don't get confused. Caprese may be preferred. Calamari was nice.

Oh my gosh one of my favorite restaurants in London! Very nice, cozy and comfortable feeling! The staff are great all very nice! The food is Amazing!!! I recommend tagliatelle salmon or linguine scampi w a coke! Of course, w an Apple pie w ice cream. The salad is fresh and get the aramosa something drink ask them to add coconut! I've been dining here like every night last three nights ever since I found out about them! That's how much I like it! So if you're in London I mean proper London central downtown area u must give this place a try! Visiting from America! 🥗🍝🍰🥂

When we left the museum, we wanted to stop by because it was very close. We regretted it, our money was wasted. The only positive thing about it is that the portions are big and satisfying. There was a menu, I chose pasta, salad and drink. The salad was tiny, there was no sauce or flavor. If you talk about the service, it was friendly and attentive, zero attention to detail.

This is so far the best restaurant we’ve had in London. I got the tortellini and ate it in 6 minutes. It is a 10/10 experience with welcoming staff great aperol spritz and the best food!! My mom got the gnocchi and loved it as well! Huseyin is the best server and cared about our experience! great prices for the food and experience. We are from Texas and couldn’t have picked a better place before our visit at the British museum! If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy great food and better people come to Il Castelletto restaurant! I will be coming back to london just for this place!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great food, perfect for a chilled out Sunday lunch

A characteristic very central place and very close to the British Museum of London, but we were unlucky, we ordered a menu of fish and chips and a penne arrabiata pasta with bad luck that we found a wire of scrub sponges and my husband almost didn't swallow them I know I got it out of my mouth, they apologized to us with two coffees with milk, but an incident like that was to take away our plate when we notified them and see us offered something else or not see us charged for that plate, the coffee and milk thing is appreciated but those mistakes can be mortal and I don't know how they pay with 3 coffees.

The restaurant is great with amazing family that serves everyone with attention. A definite recommendation with lovely Filetto and ragu cinghiale. A must visit!
