Food was amazing, the staff were really friendly and the placement of the restaurant itself is impeccable. After wandering around the British museum we were getting pretty hungry, one google search and we saw this place, just two seconds away from the museum. Well worth it in my opinion, doesn't have that london uncharge either, simple Italian dishes for a reasonable price. The lasagne was one of the best I've had in a while from an Italian restaurant. I recommend and I would 100 percent come here again. Only small thing, I wouldn't sit outside, it's a little uncomfortable for pedestrians to walk passed while your eating, but that's small in comparison to the other pros of this place.

We went to this pub/restaurant just today and had a great time. We ordered the bruschetta as a starter and the tortellini as a first course. To make sure we didn't miss anything we also had tiramisu. All the courses were delicious and we almost felt like we were in Italy. But what struck us most positively was that I accidentally spilled the wine from the next table and it went everywhere, table and floor, staining everything. Yet they were very kind!! They didn't even allow us to offer spilled wine. Overall, fantastic place! Food, music and staff.. We will definitely return and recommend it to all our friends.

Arrived at 5 PM, place was devoid of customers. It took at least 5 minutes for the two staff members present to stop chatting with each other and give us menus. The waiter was very insistent that I order the mixed salad, repeatedly suggesting it until I gave in. Two of us ordered the sea bass, one by asking for "sea bass" and I by naming the dish it was in and pointing to it on the menu. We both received what was obviously farmed Atlantic salmon instead - bland, pale, farmed salmon - which I never would have ordered. What would have been so hard about saying "I'm sorry, sir, we're out of the sea bass, would you like the salmon or something else?" But at least the mixed salad was ok.

Flavourless food and not true Italian, as they use cream on the carbonara. Service and space were ok, though.

Good treatment and good quality Italian food.

Food was ok but a little salty (and I like salt) but then I found a piece of plastic in my pasta. They apologised and took the meal off the bill but I don't think I'd go back unfortunately.

First people there on arrival, quickly seated by the waiter. Ordered food and drinks. Great service from the waiter who was chatty and friendly. Didn’t wait long for food and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of variety on the menu and each person in our party had something different and thoroughly enjoyed it. Puddings were lovely too. Will definitely book again when in London

Very nice place and the food is delicious.

Stodgy pizza ( worse than I’ve had for some years and quite hard to get wrong really ) ; we initially got the wrong dish and there were only about 6 other diners. Generally very slow service given how few people in there. To be honest we visited a couple of weeks ago now and it was all very forgettable!

The place was nice and the food was good, but the staff is no rude. Terrible service from start to finish. It was like they were doing me a favor they didn't want to do but yet expect to be rewarded for after having the worst attitude.

A little be empty, non very good atmosphere, we ordered octopus it was good, Focaccia with prosciutto was not good. Burrata ok, fried zucchini not really good. When the waiter served linguine with vongole he asked me if I want a cheese on the top, in Italy they will kill him.

First off, the best restaurant playlist I've experienced in London. Second, the Basilico cocktail is an explosion of fresh basil and gin. Finally the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted, vibrant and low key. I almost feel bad leaving 5 star review in case it gets busier but they deserve it. Thanks guys :)

We went for dinner and it was empty. They gave us a plate of carbonara pasta that we didn't like. Neither does pizza. It's a strange bar, strange atmosphere. Furthermore, they charged us 2 pounds for service when they have not charged us anywhere else. Very expensive price, poor quality

Lovely little place. Staff fitted us in even though it was a busy lunchtime. Service was swift and efficient and the food was authentic and fresh. An absolute gem in city that can be both overpriced and underwhelming when it comes to reasonably priced food. Superb.

Got our food within 5 minutes of ordering and it was piping hot and delicious. Lovely atmosphere and will go everytime I'm in that area of London.

Overcharged me £5 for lunch. Food was bland.

The start of our visit was a but hectic, the service is average. We booked the table but nothing was prepared (no-one checked the booking status…) but once we got our table and the food was served we had a good time. The food was good and i can recommend. the place is small and well located so booking is recommended.

Service was very hit and miss but excellent value

My husband said his pasta was fine. Given the excellent reviews I decided to have the veal in mushroom sauce, served with roast potatoes. I love veal and its a traditional Italian dish but dont often see veal as a lot of places have swapped to chicken or pork. The roast potatoes were in reality potato wedges. The veal was absolutely awful. Thin grey and incredibly tough. Almost as if it was cooked yesterday and microwaved today. No atmosphere and the waiter was on his own serving but also dealing with a large drinks delivery. Very disappointed

The best place for Italian food, great for lunch and dinner. I’ve never had better food than this, always the best quality food and the service is amazing. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating, Oz served us he was so attentive and made us feel very welcome :) Would 1000% recommend this place to everyone, i’ve already brought everyone I know here!!

Truly authentic experience and absolutely divine food. Exceeded our expectations. We aren’t from around here so not sure if it’s well priced or not but considering we had a bottle of wine (recommendation was perfect) starters and mains it felt reasonable. Would highly recommend this place if you looking for quality Italian food.

Plus de 45min d'attente pour une pizza, heureusement que je n'avais pas de visite de prévue sinon je n'aurais pas hésité à quitter ce restaurant...

Non si tratta di un ristorante italiano autentico, il cuoco non è italiano e questo si vede benissimo nei piatti (chiaramente se sei un cliente italiano). Detto questo, c'è di peggio a Londra! La Carbonara non è malvagia, nonostante ci sia un po' di panna. La cotoletta alla milanese non è di vitello ma è di pollo, e questo andrebbe indicato. I tempi con cui abbiamo ricevuto i piatti ordinati sono stati accettabili, così come il servizio. Prezzi nella media di Londra, ma con The Fork almeno si risparmia un bel po' (sconto 50% sui piatti, non sulle bevande). Ottima posizione, vicino al British Museum. Ristorante piccolo ma accogliente.

As a tourist, the Food is amazing. The portions are fair. Service is really good! The Waitress has such a nice attitude.

Disgraceful place, waited over an hour for one main course to be brought out. The others arrived 20 minutes later and were wrong. We were told if we accepted them we would get a discount. Had to ask for drinks 3 times, napkins etc also seemed to be rationed. The waitress clearly hates her job and takes it out on customers. Wouldn't go back if I was starving.

I would really recommend this place for a couple of reasons. They offer an Italian menu with choice among pasta, pizza, soups etc. The quality is good and prices are honest (considered that the place is at 50 meter distance from the British Museum). What I really liked is to have dinner here because in the evening that part of London is very quiet and you can enjoy the calm and cozy atmosphere of the town without all the noise and crowd of other places, like Covent Garden.

Staff were pleasant initially. However, they neglected to mention that they were out of a key ingredient, and served my order without it anyways. When I questioned them about it, they said “Opps, forgot to pick it up this morning.” ??!! So rather than just tell me they couldn’t make the item, they served a half prepared dish to me assuming that I wouldn’t know the difference. No offer to make something else, or discount the item. The rest of the food was bland as well. Do not recommend!

I was there 2 weeks ago, the food was amazing and the quality - price for it is really good. We had lunch special which includes 2 or 3 courses. Everything was delicious and the portions were perfect as well, we all left satisfied. THE BEST Tiramisú I have tried in London so far and I have tried quite a few by now.

Great food! Wanted Italian after the museum. Went to Amarcord but was packed. They sent us to here (their sister restaurant) - same menu! Everything was really good - Arabiata, gnocchi, and Salmon all tasted great.

Brilliant place just round the corner from the British Museum, London. We popped in after visiting the Museum, as we were hungry - lunchtime. The gentleman was lovely and accommodating, especially when we asked about gluten free food. We ended up having the middle offer (1 main, 1 salad and any drink for £15.99) and it was absolutely delicious. Considering we usually have a bit of a job finding places that cater for GF still, this was really nice.

Just came out of the museum looking for somwhere that serves Gluten Free and stumbled into this place. The staff are nice and helpful, the food is delicious.

Il Castelletto is a great Italian restaurant with delicious food such as pasta and pizza. The workers are also very nice. The waiter, Oz, who is on the photos, is a nice and friendly person.

Although addition 10% service charge is written on menu, they actually charged us 12.5% without informing us when taking order. When we found out it's 12.5% service charge on the bill, the staff explained that the menu are old. Is this normal in London?

A mixed experience here. The place is nice but very small. The waiter was lovely, funny and charismatic and made us laugh a lot. His service was great, the rest of the staff were unimpressive. The food was really not the best. The dish I ordered was extremely salty and the meat was dry, it was not freshly cooked either, it had the chewy taste of chicken that has been microwaved. Desserts were average. They let us stay there for more than 2hrs, so I appreciated that we didn't have to rush with our food. Prices are ok for central London. We had a big discount through our booking system, I don't think I would return without that discount.

Stumbled upon this place whilst on our way to The British Museum. As a Londoner, I couldn't be happier to have found it. No pretension, just a good solid lunch. Charming staff, and the ambience is definitely not 'West End', which I liked very much. 2 coffees, 2 soups, 2 mains, 1 dessert, £46.00. If you stick to the set menu, you can eat for roughly £14.00 - £17.00 per person.

Quite disappointed with this little restaurant. The food was quite bland and my vegetarian pizza had very few vegetables on it and a ton of cheese. In fact, the vegetables were so thing it looked like they had been cut with a peeler. It looked and tasted more like a pizza from pizza hut than an authentic Italian pizza. The tiramisu was nice.

PIZZA TERRIBILE!!! E non dite perchè siamo a Londra... ho mangiato altre pizze nei pressi di Russel Square ed erano buone. Inoltre, a parte il nome, il locale di italiano non ha nulla. Il personale non parlava una parola d'italiano e si è dimostrato pure scortese (la ragazza seccata perchè ha dovuto ripetermi una frase in inglese). Ultima ciliegina sulla torta: la cucina si trova al piano interrato accanto ai bagni che erano parecchio sporchi. Questo non dava un'impressione di un locale pulito. Peccato, perchè il locale da fuori è carino.

Nice little place. Tables are small and it doesn't take much to fill it. Tightly packed in. Service from the kitchen was slow especially as it wasn't that busy. Two staff were pleasant enough. It was ok, rushing back - na!

Cozy restaurant with good food. We got a reservation for two, but it wasn't needed on the Wednesday night that we were there. After the bustle of many larger, popular restaurants, the calm atmosphere of Il Castelletto was welcome.

Lovely restaurant with lovely staff, food was great and so was the vine. Tiramisu was just as I like it.
