One of the best Italian meals we've ever had. We found the place by mistake in so thankful we did. The food was excellent and the team were brilliant, very attentive and had us in stitches. The price was very reasonable for the centre of London. Were only sorry we couldn't make it back for the comedy.

Owners are rude and uncaring. Decided to update their contact details to mine and have since tried to blame me for this action stating it’s my fault. Very unprofessional and very very rude!!!

This is the worst Italian restaurant of my life, the so-called "Italian" restaurant does not serve al dente pasta but pasta with the taste of melted and burnt oil. The manager / waiter takes the parmesan, salt and pepper from us during the meal without asking us to give it to the next table (so the restaurant only works with one salt and pepper?). The waiter/manager is not really pleasant. And to top it all off, at the time of the bill it is written in pen “cash only” all this for the cursed sum of €130 (€20 deplorable service) for 4 pasta dishes and 1 antipasti which were not really good. (All this to pay by credit card because we didn't have cash) Finally, if you are looking for a good restaurant GO TO CAFÉ MODE!!! PS: the restaurant plays Spanish music rather than Italian.

We had a pre-theatre meal which was quickly served One of the party said the bruschetta was the best she had had. The pizza was tasty and on a thin crust which we like overall very good meal and will be happy to go back. Next time. We need a meal pre-theatre

My companion has lived in Italy and she was delighted with the quality and authenticity of our food, as was I. Best tiramisu tasted outside Italy and service was outstanding - very prompt and good-humoured. Prices were very reasonable too. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

We have been coming here for a few years now and we have found the service from all the staff to be friendly, cheerful and efficient! The quality of the food is 👌. I particularly like the pollo pesto and the bianca pizza 🍕. Would definitely recommend it 😊. Thanks to Mohamed and the team.

I visited this restaurant last week on a Wowcher, we arrived early at 7:30 booking was 8:00 PM we got Wednesday and was greeted nicely with sat down at a table. Waiter came over to us and said those 5 lbs surcharge for attending on a Saturday evening and placed a piece of paper in front of me, I looked at the piece of paper and saw that there was a surcharge, smiled at the waiter and said OK that's fine, the waiter stood there with his arms crossed waiting for the for the surcharge money, I turned to him and said oh you would like to be paid now and he's like yes. I paid surcharge money and he went off, he came back and asked us what we would like to drink, I replied I'm not sure because I don't know what there is on offer to drink so I went and got a menu and came back. He also put a menu down with there was listed with pizzas three pizzas on three sides, our thoughts that both of these were included in our voucher so we both chose a vegetarian pizza reaching the garlic bread when the waiter came back and asked this in quite an abrupt manner what we'd like I said we would have two vegetarian pizzas and two garlic breads and he was very quick and abrupt said point out that the garlic bread wasn't included in in the wowcher deal, I said that's OK no worries we'll just have the pizzas then, Rudy drinks a coke and a lemonade and he went off and took our order. He returned with a coke and lemonade that was completely flat and put them on the table. The waiter returns with the two vegetarian pizzas and put them on a time table or really he slammed them on the table. Myself and my guest looks at each other with like horror if to say what have we done wrong. Whilst we would transfer your pizza the place was completely filled with smoke where the pieces were being cooked it was that bad that our eyes were streaming trying to be our pizza. Once we finish we went downstairs to the comedy, when we got downstairs we realised that it was right next to the toilets and it just smelled toilets down in the basement it was very very tiny the comedy was diabolical it was a bunch of students trying to be funny when it wasn't. The compare of the comedy was trying to single me out to make me laugh and smile as I was so upset from the occurrence upstairs I found it difficult to enjoy the rest of the evening. When the comedy is finished I went up to the compound explained the situation of what happened upstairs . On my way out I thought I need to manager to explain what happened I spoke to the manager and explains was just awful totally ruined our evening, I spoke to the manager and said to him I can't understand why the waiter was nice and jolly to other people in the restaurant, the waiter was nice and kind to other and just dismissive and rude towards us. when the waiter was confronted by the manager the waiter said , I didn't do anything wrong , I don't know what they are on about". the manager was very apologetic and a bottle of prosecco and a free evening on him. Please avoid this place, place rubbish and comedy rubbish, extremely upset but our treatment in this place , never in my life have I been treated like this in a restaurant.

Looking for a place to eat after seeing Mrs Doubtfire in theatre and on our way to the markets, we stumbled across this place. A nice man came out and welcomed us in, as it was freezing outside it was so lovely to be in the warm. It was a small but cute restaurant. Almost felt like we were in somebody's house. Menu was nicely priced considering we were in London. I got the prosciutto pizza and it was really nice. It was a bit more thick than the traditional Italian pizza's I have had in Italian restaurants and it was a nice personal size so felt a good full after eating. Toilets are downstairs and quite cramped, but it is a smaller building so it wouldn't put me off returning. They had a comedy club advertised which was cool! But we didn't visit this place. A downside was that it was very smoky in there and it caused me to cough a lot. Towards the end we were speed walking out of the restaurant to get away from it. I think this could be due to the kitchen being in the same room and not enough ventilation. The two male staff were really kind and smiley which was nice to see. I saw on other tables that they had pasta dishes instead and they looked very yummy also. Overall, I would return.

I got myself a lasagne with salad to watch the football on TV the food was great value and was smashing . Fantastic value

So much missed potential. Very cramped, my friend and I were sat right by the top of the stairs. The staff were not very customer focused. Was due to stay for a comedy night in the basement but decided not to. Disappointed.

Booked a table for a pre theatre lunch a few weeks in advanced to turn up to a CLOSED Cafe mode. Luckily found a superb Italian Restaurant around the corner called Wildwood that had space. Maybe a blessing in disguise as Cafe Mode looked bleak from the exterior.

Great service. The children were given their pizzas to do the toppings before they cooked them which was fun Salads could have been more filling. Very free people in there at. Time we went. Nice we relaxed.

Extremely upset as treated appallingly. We asked if they had a table. Yes no problem. We mentioned needing to be warm despite being by the door. Initially the waiter was great. We had dinner which was lovely and all very quick. The waiter opened the door making us and the ladies next to us extremely cold. He had taken our coffee order, but desert gave us the bill and said we couldn't have our coffee he now had a booking. This was a terrible way to treat people. I feel our custom was undervalued and he ruined what had been a fab day. The establishment puts on a service charge too.

Waiter didn’t know the wine list. Food (pasta) was very poor despite charging premium prices. This is classic tourist trap restaurant - recommend you steer clear.

It’s a chaotic pizza and pasta restaurant, and I use the term pasta lightly. Tesco value penne, badly cooked with a sauce my 8yr old could make better. They didn’t know their own menu, nor could they tell which arrabbiata had chicken in it and which didn’t. They tried to upsell me from a £30 bottle of wine to a £62 bottle of wine. Cheeky! The wine is available in Tesco for about £9 too. Then they tried to charge us £20 service charge!!!!!! Steer clear. It’s a tourist trap rip off.

The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. There were pictures of celebrities on the walls. The food was good. Despite all of this, something was missing, the 'je ne sais quoi'. Also, although there was a vegan pizza with grilled vegetables, it had no replacement cheese topping, the only other vegan option was a pasta with spicy tomato sauce.

The food was very tasty and just right for pre-theatre. We felt like we had discovered a little gem exactly for that reason.

Very patient, friendly staff, good food. Good location, poor WiFi signal but that can't be helped. Very accommodating. Prices have risen slightly during the last year or so but that's the case everywhere, still very reasonably prices.

We stumbled upon this place after another restaurant nearby was full. Got great seat in the window. Pizzas were delicious and cooked perfectly, service was super friendly, and prices were amazing for this part of London with a couple of offers thrown in. Highly recommended.

We returned here after a number of years to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately it was not a good experience at all. We had booked & on arrival we were met by the waiter, an older small man who was unfortunately lacking in personality & greeting skills. I had messaged the restaurant via this app to ask if they were able to provide just a few extra touches as we were celebrating a birthday. Unfortunately I didn’t get a reply at all. We ordered the food and whilst my wife’s bruschetta was fine, my dough balls were overcooked, dry & tasteless, served with a scattering of burnt pepperoni. Whilst my wife was around 70% of the way through her starter, the main courses arrived and were placed on the table! Never experienced this in my life! Overall the experience was poor & absolutely no atmosphere, no even a candle lit! Left feeling very disappointed that I’d booked this for my wife’s birthday & it impacted on the day. £55 was an awful lot for what we received & for how it was all just plonked on the table. Very poor performance Cafe Mode, you let us down badly!

A recent visit to cafe mode left a lasting impression. My friend and I were enticed by the aroma of pizzas. We both ordered margheritas, and they were perfection. The crust was thin and crispy, the tomato sauce bursting with flavor, and the mozzarella cheese was wonderful. The ambiance was cozy, and the attentive service added to the delightful experience. This place is a must-visit for pizza lovers!

We love the lassgna at Cafe Mode, and the Comedy Cellar is a real bonus. Some of the best edgy and alternative comedians that we've seen. The room was rather hot, but apart from that a great evening!

Visited here on Saturday night with a Groupon voucher, pizza, drink and comedy. Pizza was quite tasty. Couldn’t get free drink until show started, meaning you have to buy one. What a rip off that was, a bottle of Isla Negra which sells for £5.75 at Tesco cost £23 that’s over a 300% profit! Oh and that wasn’t including the service charge that was added . The free drink was disgusting and the comedians were the worst I’ve seen. One in particular joked about cancer all night. A major illness that I’m certain has affected everyone’s family in one way or another other. A few people that spoke to me agreed , one lady in particular was very upset as she was just in remission. How can anyone think this is funny is beyond me. The other comedians were poor also. I did complain and was offered a free drink which was thoughtful but I declined as I didn’t complain so I could get something for nothing. Have visited here a couple of years ago but definitely gone down hill. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and definitely won’t be returning.

We visited this establishment on a Saturday night for food and comedy (Woucher deal). The food was average- pizza was lovely but garlic bread was burnt. Staff were not accommodating- wanted to sit outside but were told it was all fully booked- despite it being empty the duration of our evening there?!? Comedy was shocking and dragged on for an hour. Much better comedy nights and food in London- do not waste your money here. The one star awarded is for the pizza.

This is a nice Italian near some theatres so a good place to have an early supper. Reasonably priced especially if you have two for one on meerkats!

Great little place to grab a bite to eat before the theatre. It was empty when we arrived at 5:15 but filled up very quickly, booking advised. Service was quick and food was very good value for money. We ordered a bottle of wine too for £26, compared to some establishments in London we thought exceptional value. We had starters, main & bottle of wine and it was £27 per head including service. Would definitely recommend and will be back again

The venue is more of a pizza house and a cafe, rather than a restaurant. No deserts or coffee available, but made up for with complimentary glass of wine. It was still a pleasant experience.

This restaurant is a bit past its best. Everything seemed a bit tired, including the food. We went pre- theatre when an the other local pubs and restaurants were very busy but when we were there it was just us and one other couple. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The credit card machine was not working so they were only taking cash so we had to go and find a Cashpoint, which turned out to be one that we had to pay to use.

Good good, staff with soh and free drinks, all some of my favourite things and all available at cafe mode. They looked after our party of 6 like we were family as we celebrated my mum's 70th birthday. Will definitely return

The food was decent (pizza especially) and for central London the prices are very good. At the end of the night the card machine had a melt down so we paid in cash and got a round of free drinks as a thank you. We will be back.

I went with one of my friend and we were so embarrassed to see how this place is unwelcome and absolutely a scam. When we arrived we havent been greeted in a good way. The waiter took us downstairs to a basement with few table in a dark and stiff room. He gave us the menu and left us, we couldn’t even breath and we decided to go upstairs he refused and told my friend that the table have been reserved and it will get busy. He lied the restaurant was almost empty and nobody came. We insisted and he let us seat in a corner but he was kind annoyed. When he came to take our order I kindly asked him if the meat was halal he laughed at my face and said « only in Saudi Arabia food will be halal. » I found this comment so rude and unprofessional! Once the food arrived it was rushed and awful. Nobody came to ask if we were ok and if we have any questions. We could see « the manager » of the restaurant going to check on other guests but we’ve been ignored. We left without watching any show. This place is an absolute scam, old fashioned, boring and no explanation given. I wouldn’t recommend you to go there! They should treat people equally and keep theirs opinions to themselves.

We dined with three adults and two children, the children asked for pizza and pasta with no chili and were accommodated. The adults had two pizza and a pasta, portion sizes were fine and every one enjoyed and finished there meal. The waiter was extremely accommodating and the ambiance was fine.

I'll set the scene- Saturday evening, 5pm, Pride weekend. 2 couples, 2 kids, a baby and a dog - all hungry. We didn't realise was a massive favour Zizi and Byron did us by turning us away. We walked down the road and stumbled upon this gem. The team quickly set us up a table outside. They were attentive, went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. The pizza was excellent. Go for the Pollo. Great hospitality. Recommend.

This was on a Groupon voucher where a pizza and a glass of wine/beer was included. The pizza was ok....service wasn't the best but the comedy show more than made up for it. The show had various comedians who each brought a different brand of comedy...it was worth the price for the comedy alone. The venue was smaller than I expected but it made for a great atmosphere.

I was disappointed. I have been to this restaurant, quite a few times and the food has usually been very good. I took my friend for her birthday and the cheese on my vegetable lasagne was like leather and her penne arabbiata was dry, no sauce and hard to chew. What a shame. We share responsibility though because we didn’t tell the staff soon enough.( My friend didn’t want me to feel bad as I was treating her and I didn’t want to spoil her birthday by complaining about my food! )The staff assured us they would have given us new meals. In the end they gave us 50 percent off the meal which was fair enough.

Food and service very good. Small 'comedy' club in the basement wasn't good. The acts wasn't funny making the atmosphere flat. Too cramped for 20 odd people into a room the size of my front room. Very basic fold up chairs. Will go again to the restaurant upstairs as the pizzas were lovely. Drinks were expensive but to be expected in this area I guess.

The food was utterly sublime. I have travelled extensively around Italy and never tasted a pasta dish that tasted so divine. A truly undiscovered gem - and perfect just before the theatre, a night at the Royal Opera House, or just a day out in London!

Nice little restaurant of bitten track. Very good prices but the food was ok not the Italian quality I expected. I have been so many times in Italy and the food there is excellent. Lasagne was very good but bit small. The staff and service very good. The food was good but the deserts not. The cheesecake not good- I would not recommend- I have not ever eaten worse. Very artificial not home made. You could buy but much better one from any supermarket. The profiteroles swimming in chocolate instead of just sprinkled with chocolate. It made the desert too sweet.
