I went to dinner with my girlfriend and we loved it. Great service. We had pasta with 4 cheeses for dinner to share and a pizza as an individual dish. Unbeatable food! They told us that they had a comedy show downstairs. We will return for sure

The restaurant really is a hidden gem in London. The food is very tasty and perfectly curated, from the starter, all the way to the dessert. The service was also pleasant, with friendly and polite staff. I will definitely be coming back here. Would 100% recommend!

Lovely little place fun intimate comedy and great pizzas Great value

Took us a couple of walk bys to find this place. Knew it was under Cafe Mode but didn't realise you had to go into the cafe as absolutely no signage for the Comedy Cellar that we could see. After checking our Wowcher we were presented with a pizza menu...well I say menu, it was either vegetarian, pepperoni or plain so not a great choice. Couldn't have sides as it wasn't included in our deal! Also paid the £5 each surcharge....by card machine which was strange as they say it's cash only! Had a pizza each, which were actually ok, a a bottle of wine paid by cash but no change brought back ( didn't realise till we had left ). We were then ushered downstairs to a dingy back room, like they had a spare store room and just decided to stick a few chairs and tables in it with a mic. We were told our "cocktails" would be waiting downstairs when in fact we just got a glass of prosecco each with no other options. Now, there were only 2 tables and about 10 chairs down there. 8 people and literally half of those were the comics! So only 4 guests in total. Saw 5 comics, only 1 of which was funny, but all looked like they had just walked in off the street! Just glad this was a gift and I hadn't actually paid any money for it!

This a smallish restaurant in covent garden area, a little tired. Saturday night and it was quite empty with members of staff sat on empty tables. The food is ok, not bad, not brilliant, but just not value for money. The pizzas are small size (not 12 inches that you would expect from an Italian) and the pasta dishes are really small. Way to expensive for what it is, the lack of atmosphere and the dated decor. Won't return.

Lovely little Italian restaurant, ideal for pre theatre lunch or dinner. We had a warm welcome and enjoyed our simple starters and mains which are traditional Italian fare, done well. Pasta with pesto sauce, lasagne and pizza were all cooked well and very flavoursome. There was a lovely group of Italians enjoying their meal iwhen we arrived, always a good sign. Handy for theatres and a very pleasant experience. Relaxed, friendly service.

Had a lovely evening at Café Mode on 30/08/24 before a comedy night! Located in Endell Street (Covent Garden) very conveniently for theatre/comedy club-goers, we were able to sit outside and enjoy lovely stonebaked pepperoni and vegetarian pizzas! The food was great, accompanied by lovely service from Felicé!

We come every single trip we make to London. Never had a bad experience. Staff always cater to any needs and even make special meals that are not on the menu. Incredible food, staff and service. I would recommend to everyone

Massimo was a lovely chap and we enjoyed our meal. The road is lively and it was interesting to watch the people going by. The wine was expensive, ma eravamo a Londra!

Sat out here on a Sat afternoon. Had great pizza and brilliant service.

AVOID. Tourist trap prices and absolutely RUDE staff. We went there to drink sth and a short time after the drinks came the owner came up to us and straight up told us (unprovoked) he wanted us gone. He showed up with our bill already in hand (without us asking) and gave us dirty looks while we were finishing up our drinks. He also charged us a 5£ service charge hahaha. Also the food and drink prices are insanely high for the ambiente and the selection of drinks… Just don‘t do it.

Warm atmosphere, great food, hilarious comedy!

Super kind and nice services! We spend a great time and really enjoy the very Italian night! Kids made their own pizza and my husband had a super surprise birthday cake! If u visit BM or watching a show, pls walk here and have a drink!

We bought tickets for a comedy show there. It was a dark dingy basement,with the worst possible show. Bad comedians/complete waste if time&money.. Don't go anywhere near..

I went for dinner with my family, the pizza and pasta was great and the general atmosphere was fantastic. Later we went downstairs and for a comedy show! As a comedy fan it was fantastic to see the london comedy scene live. The acts were all unique and funny. Definitely recommend going

Smallest portion of smoked salmon ever as a starter. We had been there one hour when after two reminders the main courses arrived which were very nice. No time for dessert as we had to leave immediately to go to the theatre. On the upside they were very apologetic and gave us a free drink. I would visit again.

Went here for dinner last night and it was DELICIOUS!! The waiter we had was so kind and answered all the questions we had! He had a great chat with us too :-) The owner was also lovely! He had a long conversation with us about where we were from, families and the restaurant. He invited us to watch the comedy show downstairs and people seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Overall a great atmosphere and would definitely come back. Oh, and the food was the BEST pizza I’ve had! Especially the garlic pizza, my family was fighting over the last piece. They gave us some wine on the house as well, even after we tried to say no, they insisted (it was so yum btw). We’d previously been drinking wine whilst we waited for our food so they knew we’d like it. Im from Australia and would fly back to London just to come here again!

Did the pizza & comedy groupon as a last minute treat. Had a really good night! Enjoyed the food and had great & quick service from the staff (all polite & friendly which makes a nice change!!) The comedy was superb (sometimes a bit risqué so be prepared! If you’re uptight or boring and can’t take a joke it’s not for you!) all the comedians were fun and really made us feel a part of the evening & very welcome. All in all a great night out at a fair price, would recommend for a group who want a fun experience

One of the best Italian meals we've ever had. We found the place by mistake in so thankful we did. The food was excellent and the team were brilliant, very attentive and had us in stitches. The price was very reasonable for the centre of London. Were only sorry we couldn't make it back for the comedy.

This is the worst Italian restaurant of my life, the so-called "Italian" restaurant does not serve al dente pasta but pasta with the taste of melted and burnt oil. The manager / waiter takes the parmesan, salt and pepper from us during the meal without asking us to give it to the next table (so the restaurant only works with one salt and pepper?). The waiter/manager is not really pleasant. And to top it all off, at the time of the bill it is written in pen “cash only” all this for the cursed sum of €130 (€20 deplorable service) for 4 pasta dishes and 1 antipasti which were not really good. (All this to pay by credit card because we didn't have cash) Finally, if you are looking for a good restaurant GO TO CAFÉ MODE!!! PS: the restaurant plays Spanish music rather than Italian.

We had a pre-theatre meal which was quickly served One of the party said the bruschetta was the best she had had. The pizza was tasty and on a thin crust which we like overall very good meal and will be happy to go back. Next time. We need a meal pre-theatre

My companion has lived in Italy and she was delighted with the quality and authenticity of our food, as was I. Best tiramisu tasted outside Italy and service was outstanding - very prompt and good-humoured. Prices were very reasonable too. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

I visited this restaurant last week on a Wowcher, we arrived early at 7:30 booking was 8:00 PM we got Wednesday and was greeted nicely with sat down at a table. Waiter came over to us and said those 5 lbs surcharge for attending on a Saturday evening and placed a piece of paper in front of me, I looked at the piece of paper and saw that there was a surcharge, smiled at the waiter and said OK that's fine, the waiter stood there with his arms crossed waiting for the for the surcharge money, I turned to him and said oh you would like to be paid now and he's like yes. I paid surcharge money and he went off, he came back and asked us what we would like to drink, I replied I'm not sure because I don't know what there is on offer to drink so I went and got a menu and came back. He also put a menu down with there was listed with pizzas three pizzas on three sides, our thoughts that both of these were included in our voucher so we both chose a vegetarian pizza reaching the garlic bread when the waiter came back and asked this in quite an abrupt manner what we'd like I said we would have two vegetarian pizzas and two garlic breads and he was very quick and abrupt said point out that the garlic bread wasn't included in in the wowcher deal, I said that's OK no worries we'll just have the pizzas then, Rudy drinks a coke and a lemonade and he went off and took our order. He returned with a coke and lemonade that was completely flat and put them on the table. The waiter returns with the two vegetarian pizzas and put them on a time table or really he slammed them on the table. Myself and my guest looks at each other with like horror if to say what have we done wrong. Whilst we would transfer your pizza the place was completely filled with smoke where the pieces were being cooked it was that bad that our eyes were streaming trying to be our pizza. Once we finish we went downstairs to the comedy, when we got downstairs we realised that it was right next to the toilets and it just smelled toilets down in the basement it was very very tiny the comedy was diabolical it was a bunch of students trying to be funny when it wasn't. The compare of the comedy was trying to single me out to make me laugh and smile as I was so upset from the occurrence upstairs I found it difficult to enjoy the rest of the evening. When the comedy is finished I went up to the compound explained the situation of what happened upstairs . On my way out I thought I need to manager to explain what happened I spoke to the manager and explains was just awful totally ruined our evening, I spoke to the manager and said to him I can't understand why the waiter was nice and jolly to other people in the restaurant, the waiter was nice and kind to other and just dismissive and rude towards us. when the waiter was confronted by the manager the waiter said , I didn't do anything wrong , I don't know what they are on about". the manager was very apologetic and a bottle of prosecco and a free evening on him. Please avoid this place, place rubbish and comedy rubbish, extremely upset but our treatment in this place , never in my life have I been treated like this in a restaurant.

Looking for a place to eat after seeing Mrs Doubtfire in theatre and on our way to the markets, we stumbled across this place. A nice man came out and welcomed us in, as it was freezing outside it was so lovely to be in the warm. It was a small but cute restaurant. Almost felt like we were in somebody's house. Menu was nicely priced considering we were in London. I got the prosciutto pizza and it was really nice. It was a bit more thick than the traditional Italian pizza's I have had in Italian restaurants and it was a nice personal size so felt a good full after eating. Toilets are downstairs and quite cramped, but it is a smaller building so it wouldn't put me off returning. They had a comedy club advertised which was cool! But we didn't visit this place. A downside was that it was very smoky in there and it caused me to cough a lot. Towards the end we were speed walking out of the restaurant to get away from it. I think this could be due to the kitchen being in the same room and not enough ventilation. The two male staff were really kind and smiley which was nice to see. I saw on other tables that they had pasta dishes instead and they looked very yummy also. Overall, I would return.

So much missed potential. Very cramped, my friend and I were sat right by the top of the stairs. The staff were not very customer focused. Was due to stay for a comedy night in the basement but decided not to. Disappointed.

Booked a table for a pre theatre lunch a few weeks in advanced to turn up to a CLOSED Cafe mode. Luckily found a superb Italian Restaurant around the corner called Wildwood that had space. Maybe a blessing in disguise as Cafe Mode looked bleak from the exterior.

Great service. The children were given their pizzas to do the toppings before they cooked them which was fun Salads could have been more filling. Very free people in there at. Time we went. Nice we relaxed.

Extremely upset as treated appallingly. We asked if they had a table. Yes no problem. We mentioned needing to be warm despite being by the door. Initially the waiter was great. We had dinner which was lovely and all very quick. The waiter opened the door making us and the ladies next to us extremely cold. He had taken our coffee order, but desert gave us the bill and said we couldn't have our coffee he now had a booking. This was a terrible way to treat people. I feel our custom was undervalued and he ruined what had been a fab day. The establishment puts on a service charge too.

Waiter didn’t know the wine list. Food (pasta) was very poor despite charging premium prices. This is classic tourist trap restaurant - recommend you steer clear.

It’s a chaotic pizza and pasta restaurant, and I use the term pasta lightly. Tesco value penne, badly cooked with a sauce my 8yr old could make better. They didn’t know their own menu, nor could they tell which arrabbiata had chicken in it and which didn’t. They tried to upsell me from a £30 bottle of wine to a £62 bottle of wine. Cheeky! The wine is available in Tesco for about £9 too. Then they tried to charge us £20 service charge!!!!!! Steer clear. It’s a tourist trap rip off.

An absolutely fabulous night with family. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, food was amazing and tasty. Can’t fault this gem.

The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. There were pictures of celebrities on the walls. The food was good. Despite all of this, something was missing, the 'je ne sais quoi'. Also, although there was a vegan pizza with grilled vegetables, it had no replacement cheese topping, the only other vegan option was a pasta with spicy tomato sauce.

The food was very tasty and just right for pre-theatre. We felt like we had discovered a little gem exactly for that reason.

Very patient, friendly staff, good food. Good location, poor WiFi signal but that can't be helped. Very accommodating. Prices have risen slightly during the last year or so but that's the case everywhere, still very reasonably prices.

The menu was the normal Italian menu but the pizzas were hand made and delicious, the staff very friendly - complimentary wine at the end too and very good value for money.
