The best restaurants serving Indian food in Scotland

Booked this restaurant after passing by it one evening while in Starthaven. I can't say I was overly impressed when we arrived. We were seated in the glass conservatory, right next to the wall heater that was blasting directly onto us. The waitress took 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to order for drinks. Then a further 10 minutes to take our meal order after our drinks arrived. The starters were nice, but the chasni we ordered for two of our main dishes were pretty bland and the one I had, had several tough pieces of chicken, which put me off. I left most of it. My son ate all of his, so perhaps I was just unlucky. The young blonde haired waitress looked like she would rather be anywhere else than her work. She took a second drinks order and brought the small glasses of coke and not the pints of cola that we had asked for. Our table was overcrowded with the first round of glasses and cans that were left on the table when the second round of drinks were brought to us. The tables were too close together in the conservatory, we could barely get out when people sat at the table behind us. I was sadly disappointed with the whole experience, which was sad as I had high hopes after reading all the raving reviews. I wouldn't return.

First time here - food was really good and served quickly. Will definitely be back to visit great quality taste. Nice and clean too.

My grandson, his daddy and their friends had an amazing time at the Grinch party on Sunday. A great idea and we are all looking forward to next years Thank you to the girls who arranged the party, what a super staff team Anaya have. We are regulars of Kilbirnie Anayas and the staff and food are always excellent

Very good fresh food very friendly staff good place for a few beers and a nice meal good location Will definitely be turning again. I’m looking forward to it. Would recommend chicken madras

Decided to eat in while we were on holiday in Dufftown abs lots of other people had recommended. I had mixed Tandoori grill - beautifully fresh & generous! Husband had chicken madras with rice & naan - all very good. Lovely staff & good value too …. there’s only 2 takeaways in town but these guys are not complacent & delivered top food

Had a chicken tikka masala was absolutely beautiful chicken was lovely sauce was gorgeous

Came for lunch with 2 kids. Impressed because we had set lunch menu at very reasonable price but 5 star quality and taste. Highly recommend for meal when in Stirling centre.

Went to our reservation the boys there great that served us and the chicken tikka garlic garam masala was without doubt the best Iv tasted!! the Mrs got a tikka masala also loved it the cheese and onion naan was 10/10 thanks for the great food can’t wait to get back

Have been a few times and is always excellent. The mixed grill is superb. Have tried a few other dishes, sides and naans, all top quality and great value for money. the guys are always friendly and service is spot on. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a place. The staff are so attentive and lovely. The food was amazing! We had a mix of the lunchtime and a la carte menu. £60 for 3 eating with drink. Fantastic food at a good price. Highly recommend.

Another lovely meal at the Ashoka Southside. Good food, really tasty & we were well served by our waitress Sara.
