The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Fabulous curry last time and we thought great at last a lovely takeaway curry. BUT....... tonight a tale of two halves. My jalfrezi was excellent but my husband ordered chicken tikka dopiaza VINDALOO hot. Sadly sooo disappointing. No spice /heat whatsoever. He will not be keen to order from here again.

Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good. The food was tasty however the portions were a bit small. My biggest/only complaint would be the price seemed too steep.

This is our first takeaway since you reopened…..very disappointing There were just four prawns in our king prawn Madras and the sauce was hot and thin when it used yo be spicy and delicious. We left most of the rice and sauce. So sad, we have been having takeaways from here for many years. Will not use in future.

Not a good as my previous experience - lamb was not tender, and rice was dry and pretty tasteless. Will try an alternative Indian next time I'm in Ponte

Very tasty food and drinks. Excellent service. We had the Sunday Buffet, a selection of starters, three different curries, three side dishes and naans.

We were told to try this great restaurant by a friend & they were right. The staff were friendly & polite. The food was delicious, I had lamb & it was so tender. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food. Well worth a visit.

Been in a few times now. Don’t think any of the waiters realise they work in a restaurant. One of them is so rude, you think it’s a parody restaurant. Asked for poppadoms, he said he wouldn’t get them til we gave our main order. Another one just won’t shut up - always making stupid jokes and over sharing his personal life - and then when you need him he’s on a personal call behind the bar jabbering away in his mother tongue. And one of them just sits and watches films on the tv. I say this as if there’s lots of staff. Tbh, 95% of the time they aren’t there leaving you wondering if you’ll ever get any service as you dine for long periods without any staff present. People often walk in and straight out as no one is there to greet them. The food is actually ok but the Kingfisher on tap is warm and disgusting. When this was mentioned to the waiter who never shuts up he just shrugged and told me to tell the manager. Never again. Fed up with the place now.

Always good food reasonably priced

I was going to book but they wanted a £50 lb deposit which I found unreasonable

Ordered lamb vindaloo, chicken korma and paratha via deliveroo. Called restaurant for ETA- friendly and accommodating staff. Nice thick curry, lamb soft and succulent. Korma was beautifully sweet and rich. Their paratha is a little more dense,but nice and filling. Could maybe add more meat pieces, but good enough that I order regularly. Will book the restaurant one day! Thank you Chat House team for being reliably good.

From the lighting to the flavors, everything was perfect.
