Maidenhead Spice in Windsor and Maidenhead

We were meant to eat here for celebrating a 60th birthday, we ordered popadams as appetizers, only to find shards of plastic in the sauces. We told the restaurant about this, they replaced the sauces only to find the new batch also had shards of plastic also! As we wanted to leave the staff tried to demand we pay for the drinks we had ordered. Not only this but the staff then harassed us on the way out. Very poor service. Needless to say we will not be returning anytime.

Safe to say that we won’t be going back there ever again!

The food was very bland, I guess being an Asian guy was looking for hot and spicy but this was catered for English people. Service was poor did not get order right, needs improving.

Really good food and great service. Right amount of choice on the menu. Simply dropped a point for my soft drink being warm

Good service and a lovely meal. I had the speciality Lamb dish and the portion was so generous I could not finish it all. The lamb was really tender cooked with chickpeas in a rich sauce. I also enjoyed the pistachio kulfi ice-cream for dessert.

Stayed in Maidenhead for a couple of nights after a wedding. Mooched around and stumbled across this restaurant as it was near our hotel. It was great. Abdul was great, service was excellent from all, food was delicious! After reading the bad reviews I was quite shocked tbh! Would definitely recommend!!

Beautiful interior and friendly service greeted us on our first visit. Food was delicious. Pilau rice was perfect. We will be back soon.

A bit like travelling back in time when no one knew what quality and taste in a foreign restaurant was. When we asked why the food tasted so bland we were told it was expected. Either Gordon Ramsey or someone under 69 needs to dine here.

We had a lovely meal! The service was brilliant, they looked after us very well and made sure we had everything we needed. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I’m sure we will be back in the future.

The table was decorated beautifully. This restaurant is worth going out of your way to visit, it really is very special.

We are visiting this area as couple. I chose this restaurant because of its great reviews and was definitely not disappointed. I had the lamb shank and my partner had a biriani. The lamb was perfectly spiced and just fell off the bone, absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend a visit if you get the opportunity.

We have lived in this area for two years and have tried various takeaways which have been poor. Maidenhead Spice is hands down the best Indian takeaway I have ever experienced. Highly recommend and will definitely order again.

Don’t go here if you want to collect your food you’ve ordered. They will have given it away to a stranger who walks in and says they’re collecting for a friend. Absolute joke spent £50 for them to give it away and then make you wait again. Angry manager who can’t see how it’s his fault. Maybe they should set up some checks when you collect a takeaway. It’s a shame because the food is great but the management is a sham. Won’t be ordering again.

Excellent Indian food, especially the green chicken curry, which I love with mushroom rice. Tandori delicious, saag awesome. Perfect for Mondays after your weekend shift. Perfect every day for you hard working folks. Takeaway or eat in, why not!

Was told 4 people set price 29.99 asked a number of times was it 29 pound for set meal for 4 ending costing near 150 pound why not explain ager been asked a number of time about it and then hit us with a bill of that caught. 29.99 pound for a child under 3 kids under the one over and still 29.99 a kids

Gorgeous restaurant opposite where I live. This is our go-to takeaway. Atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful and the staff are lovely, always going above and beyond to provide great service. The portions are generous and the food is excellent! We are vegetarian and there are plenty of delicious, meat free options.

Very good food and great atmosphere. Don't try to get a martini....they didn't seem to have the concept of Gin and a splash of vermouth, and they didn't have olives. But the food and wine were great.

A jar of curry from co-op has more flavour then this restaurant. No flavour no spice won’t be using again.

We've been here many times (and had takeout from here many times more). The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and the food is delicious.

Service isn't that great at this restaurant, there are plenty of staff but they don't seem to be very proactive. Meal was OK although the kebab was poor and the curry wasn't that hot despite ordering a highly spiced dish and conforming with the waiter that very hot was what I was after. Overall I sense a restaurant that is resting on its laurels and making revenue from takeaways.

Positives : Excellent service & food. Our waiter looked like an Indian Cuba Gooding Jr. I had a duck naga (not on the menu, but they were happy to do it), my friends had a mixed grill, a king prawn dish with cashew nuts and I forget what my brother-in-law had. Lamb chops starter was good, but the duck naga was excellent. Negatives : I guess the main courses took longer than I’d like, but then I did order something that wasn’t on the menu.

Delivery arrived bang on time as always and driver very pleasant. Food again of a high standard and very tasty. One comment tho would be that the Madras seems to be getting progressively less spicy! That’s hopefully more likely to be down to me getting older. Never had a problem with these guys and recommend you give them a try. One constructive comment for them. Please consider vacuum packing takeaways/deliveries. I’ll be back!

If it's a first visit I normally measure a restaurant on their Tandoori King Prawns... no complaints here - 5 stars all the way!..

A lovely night. Food is amazing. They even put happy birthday decorations round our table for my daughter. My only gripe was them trying to take empty dishes away whilst we were still all eating and talking. Our new curry house

Worst , most expensive starters I have ever ordered , overcooked prawns , two for just under £8. 00 Two lamb cutlets , burnt to a crisp - Nearly ALL bone , so salty , absolutely shocking food !! Repulsive won’t be ordering again !!

Have been going to Maidenhead spice since its days as the ocean village and have to say that I struggle to recognise the restaurant described in certain negative reviews. We have taken friends and family members to Maidenhead spice and they have been hugely impressed by the quality of food on offer. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes sub continent food, I grew up amongst Indian families and my palate is far from bland…if you ask the waiters they will temper, even relatively chilli oriented dishes to your taste. The lamb chops, jhinga prawns are notable on the starters menu, whilst the Jalfrezi and South Indian chilli/garlic are very spicily rewarding on the mains. Service has been mostly excellent, but can be a tad ‘laid back’ on less busy nights.

Lovely place and attentive friendly staff. Best curries in Maidenhead without exception, Well worth a visit even though its on the edge of the town centre give it a try ! After sampling their food you will soon make it your regular place for a meal out !

We have used every local Indian restaurant over many years. Maidenhead Spice is consistently high quality. Delivery service excellent. Decent portion sizes so good value and with plenty of flavour - served with a smile. Hubby is gluten free and never an issue here!

Lamb Tikka was too dry and has no taste. King Prawn Butterfly was too dry. All food is reheated, no freshly made!!!

We decided to give this place a try as we live close, the service was excellent, and the quality of food superb. This is now our favourite takeaway, and the price for the food is very reasonable.

Second time ordering for weekend takeaway. Good website ie user friendly! All dishes freshly cooked, really nice and good sized portions.

As traditional British served Indian restaurants go, you can't go wrong. Many good memories here & many birthday celebrations where they've served over 20+ people at one time brilliantly without compromising on quality.

Excellent food with great service

The food and experience was not at all great at this place. Even after specifically asking for spicy food we were given pretty much bland food. Garlic naan was just plain naan with garlic paste applied on top of it. The tarka dal was not good at all.

This restaurant is the best because I like chicken biryani and mire because it taste good.

Please don’t ever order from this place. Chicken was not cooked, neither paneer. Waste of time and money. So much of oil and not good food at all!!! I just threw in the bin!

We wanted to try a different Indian/Bangladesh restaurant and had a very good time at Maidenhead Spice. It felt very comfortable, welcoming and friendly, with good service. It was great to see some different dishes on the menu than the traditional ones, so we were keen to give them a go. The Murgh Nazakat starter was fabulous, great flavour. The mains of Korai Kebab Khyberi and South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken were beautifully cooked and extremely tasty. Perennial favourites of Chicken Chat on the Puree and Onion Bhaji were excellent and confirmed our view that this was a great restaurant. We will certainly return and will be sampling more of the house speciality dishes.

Oh my god, I thought I would come here after a few years since it was ocean village in 2000 and before, the service back then was amazing and so so so comfortable, the waiter I had back then was so kind and gave me extras and ideas and so much more pleasant things. Now..... awful... awful food... gone downhill both food and quality and service Recommend DO NOT GO!! Save ur money!!! .... To the owners .. i went on a thursday.

Went for the Sunday lunch set menu. Was delicious with lots of choice of food and ate lots. Service was very good and fantastic value.

We have loved Maidenhead Spice for a long time, both in the restaurant and takeaway. We had another takeaway this evening and we all loved it, everything was perfect. Consistently special, their website ordering was struggling so I called and a very helpful and friendly chap sorted it straight away - thank you!

Ordered a lamb Biriyani. I love to make it but day was hot. I was disappointed as was 80% rice .. very little flavour, just chilli taste . Would not recommend this place . Sorry but Biriyani needs more flavour

My usual choice was closed according to uber eats, and to be honest i am so glad it was as i have now found this gem of a restaurant. The food was delivered hot and is probably the tastiest takeaway i have ever eaten. The Tandoori Chicken was beautifully presented and perfectly charred which added to the flavour, First time i have had a takeaway where the chicken actually was flame grilled in some way. And the portions where massive so left very full afterwards. Overall the best tasting takeaway i have ever eaten, i believe they also have a dine in restaurant so will definitely book up when we can all meet again.

The food was delicious, piping hot and very well presented. The staff were very attentive and courteous. One of our party was taken ill (nothing to do with the delicious food) and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. We would like to thank them very much for their support. Looking forward to visiting again. We understand from friends that takeaway food is also of a very high quality.

Do not touch these dreadful people Maidenhead Spice again. When everyone is trying to pull together they have totally ruined our night. Ordered through deliveroo at 6.45 Promised delivery despatch and actual drop off to us by 7.40 with lots of chasing and updates and promises from them in between Guess what they said they delivered then shut. Totally ruined our evening when we planned the best we could in a difficult situation. Do not trust them they are heartless and self satisfying. They took our money and spun out our delivery for over 2/1/2 hours until they posted they were closed and no one answered. Shocking service no matter what the situation. Well we are lucky enough to have cheese on toast for our celebrations. Will never consider these self serving people again. I don’t care how good reviews say there food is. We made 56 direct calls to them none of which were answered. Do yourselves a favour. Gandhi and ruchi never let you down in Maidenhead never straying again Happy New Years It’s people who count.

Solid Indian takeaway with a nice modern restaurant area. A favourite of ours because it's local. We've never had a bad meal here. Friendly staff too.

Have used Maidenhead spice for years but they have recently been taking an hour longer than they say on delivery. Ordered over an hour and 45 minutes ago and still not here and every time we call they say another 2-3 minutes for us to call back 10 mins later and get the same response! Really not impressed with the service lately.

Our first meal out since before lock down! We had a warm welcome, all the staff were wearing masks and gloves and there was hand sanitiser at the door. We felt safe throughout our visit. The food was excellent, good choice of dishes, good portion size. Service excellent too and the staff were very friendly. Wwill definitely eat here again.

Just had another takeaway from this restaurant. The delivery service was less than 45mins when it was stated that it would be 45mins to the hour. The food was excellent and with a cold beer and watching football what a great evening. Give these guys a try.
