The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Brilliant food especially the lamb curry and the starter meal. The mango and strawberry ice cream with pistachio nuts was to die for. Definitely come back again but I’ll bring my family next time.

The food was nice and they paid attention to my request of making the curry extra hot... but I ordered chicken and got lamb, which was disappointing. Won't stop me from going again, it was just a mistake. Was still nice, just not what I ordered.

No free papad basket. Driver couldn’t care less about the delivery code.

It really isn’t very good. I appreciate times are tough, but the staff could at least pretend to be interested and the food really is quite poor. There are several far better choices nearby. On the upside it is cheap if that is a criteria. For me it wasn’t.

fabulous food. I loved the Cochin prawns and that saffron chicken starter was also brilliant.

Food was a quarter of an hour late but it was well worth waiting for.

I've given 2 stars for the service which was very good. It was my first visit and I ordered a chicken biriyani. I have eaten dozens of biriyani's at various restaurants around England, and hands down it was the worst one I've ever eaten. It lacked flavour, it was bland and the vegetable curry that came with it was sweet, which for me being of south Asain dissent was disappointing, as it should have been savoury and authentic, it wasn't. I won't be going back. I also found their prices to be ridiculously high for the quality off the food. I could walk to another restaurant who have an award winning chef round the corner, and get the same dish for almost half the price and it would taste authentic and delicious. I went with a group of friends who have eaten there before, so it wasn't my choice

To be honest it was very poor went with my partner a bigger party came in after us and the eye contact went straight to the larger party didn’t enjoy at all

Visited as a family group of 8 and were made most welcome. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very friendly. Excellent value for money. The restaurant is not licenced but you are welcome to take your own alcoholic drinks which keeps the price down. We will certainly visit again.

The nicest Indian restaurant in the North East!!!

We were a group of 8 but at the last minute needed to change to 9, this was no problem at all. We nearly all had a different dish and everyone enjoyed the flavours of their meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially to my mum who is 90 and in a wheelchair. We chose to come here to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday and am very glad we did. Many thanks to all the team for making the evening so special, we'll be back soon.
