We ordered two each papadams(sp?), two onion bajiis(sp?) and we each order chicken tikka masala. After eating the papadams we were served to our surprise, three each onion bajiis instead of the one each that we expected. After eating those which were too filling I was no longer really that hungry, but then the chicken tikkas were served. My chicken was so over cooked it was like cutting rubber but the sauce was tasty. I also have to say that the sauces served with the papadams were some of the best I have ever had in an Indian restaurant although the owner and servers were from Bangladesh. So, some good and some bad, consequently the average rating

I was recommended the Foxes Sunday carvery from a work colleague, Today is my birthday so i went for a try having booked a table 4 days previously, What can i say? The best Carvery i have ever had, The beef melted in my mouth and there was a lot of choice with the add-ons like Dauphinoise potato's, Creamy leeks, Stuffing balls etc and all the Perfect roast spuds and veg you could want, It was perfectly seasoned, Freshly cooked and piping hot, Definitely going back for another bash!

We had no idea this cafe was here! It was a little hard to find in winter but what a treat once located. We had the mini rice plates which were a fantastic size to allow space for one of their wonderful cakes. The beef madras with all the accompaniments was delicious. We also had the tart with salad and potatoes. The flavours were all fantastic, the chef clearly knows they they’re doing. The menu is really interesting and varied, the coffee was excellent and loads of great cakes. We loved it so much we came back the next morning for breakfast, the Korean oyster mushroom roll was amazing and this is the first place we’ve had a good GF roll. 10/10 all round

The food at Baboo Ji is among the best vegetarian Indian cooking I have come across. I first visited in April 2022 with a work colleague and now it is one of my go to eateries when I'm in the area. The staff are friendly and seem to know most of their customers well, always a sign that they care about returning trade. Definitely a 5 star venue. Sadly, I've just found out they are having to close this restaurant but are looking for new premises to re-open. Keep an eye on their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram for info on the new site when it comes.

We ordered 2 chicken dishes and 1 side with paneer cheese ‘Mottor Ponir’ a rice and 2 naan breads 1 of the two chicken dishes came with what seemed and tasted like a strong cheddar cheese grated and melted over the top in a thick layer The second was tasty but the chicken very try and no texture to the sauce at all The side dish was also covered in a thick layer of the same cheese with what I assume were chickpeas in a thin curry sauce and no paneer cheese at all The rice was okay as was the naan Overall, majority was inedible. This almost seemed like a joke. In the car home the overwhelming smell of cheese and curry was odd. However, after tasting it, even more strange. I’d like to assume this was a one of but I wouldn’t risk wasting your money here unless you have a love of mature cheddar on your tikka masala

Well we saw the good reviews for this Indian and thought as we are on holiday we would give it a try. Oh my what a huge disappointment this turned out to be. The food I had was literally bland (Chicken Chat starter and a Tandoori Platter main) with the only taste coming through of salt. The salt was not massive but the only taste that was present. Now I have many curries around the UK and abroad and this was the worst one I have ever had. I fully understand the various regional differences with Indian cooking but this was just poor execution of this dishes. My wife had a Chicken Tikka Masala which she said was ok but nothing great. The rice and naan were fine. My advice is if you want a good curry this isn’t the place for you.

The boxs' of curries available at the deli counter are only just the beginning. Very authenthic, very nicely spiced, and also some unsual ones, like chicken naga, which is very hot, but very tasty and good for the heat lovers. And at £5-7 its also a lot cheaper than sitting in a restaurant. The lentil dal is even cheaper. You could eat from here every day and not break the bank. Then there is the Deli counter, for daily curries, chaats (mixed indian snack box thing, you won't be dissapionted) You have a vegetarian section and a meat section, and the mix of things ensures you can have something made of vegetables like their fiery parnsips (cooked in a spicy sauce) or indulge with a pakora, of which they're are endless to choose from and all delicious. I asked if the dipping sauces were made fresh, and got the reply, 'everything is made from scratch up in the kitchen'. Have the mango chutney with a chicken pakora and you'll be back to try it all!
