Nargis Tandoori in Stroud

I always have takeaways,so last week orderd from Nargis Tandoori,ordered few tandori dishes also some curries!after long time had such a lovely meal,everythinghs was very delicious and warm,highly recommended for everyone in stroud also compliments to the chef and other staff!great food ever!

We ordered a takeaway consisting of two tandoori mixed grills and some side dishes. At home, when the rather leaky packages were opened, we could hardly believe the burnt and crumbled mess presented. Although the meal had a consistent red colour, presumably a dye, there were practically none of the rich spices one would expect. The side dishes were hot but the mixed grills were just lukewarm. Most of the food ended up in the rubbish bin and our evening meal was ruined. Our telephone complaint met the reply “I was very busy” and an offer of a replacement meal. No thanks.

Have eaten from here some time ago and fancied a takeaway last night. Ordered the set meal for two which was ready for us in 20 minutes. Absolutely delicious, could not fault it at all and brilliant value for money. Great service, great food, what’s not to like ?!

While staying with my friend in Stroud we have gotten great food from this takeout. They even stayed open for us to pick up food late. Everything I’ve had there has been excellent & ready on time.

Our local Indian takeaway has been disappointing on the last few occasions we’ve used them so we decided to try somewhere else. I looked on Trip Advisor and Nargis seemed to get the best reviews so we gave it a go... I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious and prepared just as we asked. The popadoms were crisp, fresh tasting and plentiful, the main dishes were well-balanced with a great depth of flavour and the Naan bread was fluffy and light. To top it all they had thrown in some meat samosas which were also delicious. It looks like we have found our new local takeaway!

Esas son mis credenciales; mi opinión es que no hay buen curry en los Cotswolds. He probado todas las casas de curry de Stroud, Stonehouse y sus alrededores y este es siempre el mejor de un lote malo. Podría hacer más verduras en el curry, pero el sabor es bueno, el calor es bueno si se solicita y el cordero es excelente.

Been here many times but have been out of the area for a few years and last weekend made a return visit. Nothing has changed the food is still wonderful and service always on time. If they say 15mins it is 15 mins.

First class food. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices from this Indian Takeaway. Very popular in this area.

I have had the food from Nargis Tandoori several times and each time I was very impressed with the service from the management and the quality of the food. The Chicken Jalfrezi & chicken tikka masala is my favourite however I do like everything else I tried.

Have been here a few times now and this place just does what it does... very well. Lovely food and portions and friendly service. First on my list of take aways.

I have had Candy Floss that is not as sweet as the Lamb masala. The Nan was not even cooked properly. Awful!

Used this place a few times recently. Has been very tasty and they will cater to your personal tastes if you want it hotter etc. Accurate time wise and you get extras if you spend over a certain amount. Recommend

Very enjoyable meal. We were unsure, as there were mixed reviews, but we had a good meal and it was good value. It was a little greasy, but then most curries are. The curry was good, the onion bahjis were amazing but the nan bread was not so good. We will definitely go again.

Friendly staff and reasonable prices from this traditional India takeaway. Food was ok, not especially inspiring but tasty and good value.

We've been coming here nearly every week for the last 18 months having tried most in Cirencester, Stroud, Nailsworth and Brimscombe. When we're away on holiday we always either eat in or try a takeout. Others rarely come up to their standard. We have to agree with another contributor - they are the best locally and always of a consistently high standard.

Luckily for us - this is our local - its the best curry in Stroud. Really lovely staff, free poppadums & extras when you spend up to a certain amount. We never go anywhere else !

Not a bad place except got charged more for our order to include a free over forty pound dish where as we really wanted the free chicken tika for over 30 pound, also ordered a garlic naan and received a plain naan and ordered one dish med-hot and there was no spice at all

This is my favourite place for a take away in Stroud. The people who run it are really friendly and the food is really good. The set meals are great value and big enough to share. Very recommended.

I visit first lam tikka nd tanduri nice as good curry they r good serve Nan soft tikka so testy nd sashlik bhuna wow chicken banjara nd shatkora so good so I think everything good

I'm a lover of a good curry and travel a lot so try a lot of different restaurants and takeaways. Seen high reviews for this place and tried it. Naan bread was stale and tasteless, chicken was dry and didn't taste right. Lamb was OK, but that was about it.Definitely won't visit again.

As always very good food and great value never had a bad meal there and Abdul the owner goes the extra mile to please if it's not on the menu and he can he will cook it for you brilliant

I have visited this take-away a couple of times now, and I keep meaning to review it. Both times have been tricky as I have brought big groups oder, once for someone's birthday, but the Nargis staff have always been very friendly and catered to us.The food is always great and is brought out quickly, and they are very good about going the extra mile, with nice little touches like free bhajis etc. Very impressed, esp as the excellent service has been consistent on a couple of visits. Needed a quick late eve curry, checked trip advisor and ordered a CTM for collection. Very friendly in there, got my curry home and was most impressed. Great flavours and the best Peshwari Naan I've ever had. I live in and around London. So spoilt for choice in places to visit, my mum lives nearby to Stroud and when I'm next there and curry's on the family menu these guys will Deffo get a second visit. Very tasty even for a takeaway!

Great service, friendly, efficient - prepare food when they say and lots of delicious dishes.You can't eat in at Nargis but it is the best take away in Stroud for Indian. Great Tandori Chicken and the califlower bahji and rice dishes all fab

Decided to have an Indian takeaway, food always good and the additional freebies were a bonus. The freebies are dependent on the amount spent, but we have never had a bad meal from this takeaway.

Been going here for 20 years plus and it is simply wonderful. Great food, great staff and good prices. Particularly recommend the chicken pasanda and chicken dhansak. Keep up the good work Abdul et al !

Gorgeous gorgeous food. Particularly loved the Chicken Sagoti. Lovely spinach and fresh ginger based sauce. The Lamb Roshunwalla was really nice, too.

The whole family goes mad for a takeaway from here- korma, pattia, sag aloo and tandoori chicken tikka are particular favourites with special rice and peshwari naan as our go-to sides. The service is lovely and friendly and they are always generous with extras, throwing in free samosas or bhajis every time. We have never been disappointed, and if we ever have it when friends are round they are always impressed by how delicious every dish is. All-round excellent.

We are spoilt for choice in Stroud with Indian takeaways, but Nargis Tandoori remains our favourite. We've been eating their delicious meals for years and have never been disappointed. The extras they give are also a nice touch. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

The food at Nargis is good and they are generous with extras. They throw in free meat samosas if you spend more than £15 but tell them if you're vegetarian and they will give you veggie ones or onion bhajees instead. They are always really friendly and very sweet with kids. Worth a visit.

Have been using this takeaway for over 15 years now. Still serves excellent food and Mr. Rashid always has a smile and a chat to add to the experience. He has always served good food and my wife and I have never been disappointed. He has aways served free popadoms, but now offers free dishes if you spend over £15.

We had friends round, and enjoyed a whole range of vegetarian dishes, as well as a prawn masala. Many of their dishes are quite different from the usual Indian restaurant. They then add free samosas,which are the best I have had.

We are regulars at Nargis and we have tried a variety of meals from the takeaway menu - and we have never been disappointed. Every meal is freshly prepared, with onions, tomatoes and any other veg in the meal retaining their body in a delightful thick sauce and the chicken, lamb or fish are generous quantities and cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and helpful, giving clear advice where there are issues over food allergies and the content of the dish - if you enjoy a good curry then you won't be disappointed.

Nargis is easily the best Indian takeaway in stroud. I go there regularly and am never disappointed. It's good value for money and the staff are always very friendly. The Prawn Dhansak is super!

We have been going to nargis tandoori for over 10 years. We have tried numerous other Indians but this one wins hands down- the chicken korma is simply amazing.We no longer live in Stroud but make sure we get a takeaway from Nargis every time we are back, after 3 years of living in London we've never found an Indian that rivals Nargis!

Have now used this takeaway for over a year. The reception area is clean and comfortable with adequate seating. The service has been nothing other than polite and friendly. The staff are well presented and have great knowledge of the menu they provide. The food has always been received hot and with the free offers stated on the menu. The portions are regular with meats and vegetables a plenty. If i am not happy with the quality or quantity of service or food, then i move on, but a years visitation of this establishment tells that i am more than happy with the Nargis. I was originally recommended the Nargis from a friend who works in the food industry and knows a thing or two of quality meats. I will continue to use the Nargis as our weekend takeaway treat and have no problem recommending the service and food to others. Try it, you will not be disappointed..

We have had nothing but great service and food from Nargis Tandoori. We have been going here regularly for many years and have introduced our family and friends to their amazing food. Perfect for those nights in.The best thing is the larger the order the more extras you get.... Excellent way of introducing me to new Indian dishes that I would never normally order.We look forward to the next visit which I'm sure won't be long......

Nargis Tandoori after reading some good reviews, and agree with those reviews wholeheartedly. The surroundings were comfortable, the service friendly and unobtrusive, but most of all we were both very impressed by the food. One of the best Indian meals I have had. I couldn't decide what to order so asked for advice, and the dish that arrived (something I had never tried before) was delicious. The total bill was also surprisingly reasonable. I would definitely come here again.

What a wonderful Indin take-awaythe food was excellent, and freshly cooked. The serving staff were also excellent and made it seem a pleasure to serve us, very chatty. Will definitely return for more.

The best Indian take away I've ever had!! The portions were a great size and all packed full of flavour.. The chicken in our chicken balti sag wasn't chewy or rubbery like others I have had in the area but instead very tender.. We were also most happy with the service as we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman on reception. He was also very apologetic for the wait which we later found out was actually due to us ordering half an hour before they were meant to open so inevitably the wait was understandable!! (Sorry again)!!

Tough meat, a sauce that was both weak and overly hot at the same time. Not disgusting but just really poor for over a tenner (for one person).

Chicken madras and chicken balti egg fried rice takeaway.violently ill throughout the night and the following day.complained but told to report it to enviromental health..Needless to say I will not be going there again and will share my experience with my customers..

Quite simply the best curry in town to take away. Friendly and efficient service and fantastic food.

food is always delicious - great food, well cooked, interesting recipes. My husband says they do the best 'honey sandwiches' (peshwari nans) in the world! They are never too busy to get your order in good time, with a smile. Our favourite local takeaway.

Great Indian take away, been eating curries from here since I was a kid (I'm 32 now!). Nargis is take away only but great for when you wanna be lazy after a hard day at work :)
