Disappointing takeaway. Lamb was chewy and the korma was just coconut without any flavour. Aldo discovered we had not been given the 15% discount for a takeaway

1st time ordering form this takeaway. Where to start, Stale poppadoms, we ordered egg fried rice and garlic rice, to me it looked like they just added the egg and garlic to the already cooked rice, rather than cooked separately (if that makes sense) onion bhaji had no taste and sadly this was continued through out the other dishes, simply no flavour at all. This is my first ever review, it was that bad.

Best service that I have EVER received in any restaurant. They take time to learn and remember your name. The food is delicious, it comes out quick and perfectly cooked. Everyone who works here is attentive and friendly. I would recommend Dil Raj to anyone who loves Indian food!

Superb restaurant, the menu is really interesting and if you want it the kitchen will cook things hotter or milder in spice. The staff are very good and service is prompt. It gets busy, especially on a Saturday night so it's advisable to book rather than just rock up. Recommended!!

We came here for my partner's Dads birthday dinner. However, the experience was anything but celebratory! First of all, the waiter made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassed, by making a song and dance about how I couldn't possibly be over 18 when I tried to order a half pint of kingfisher (I mean it's not exactly a vodka shot is it and beer also is fine with a meal when you're over 16!). I understand re the Challenge 25 rules, but they obviously don't even go by that and just wanted to make me feel sad and patronised. It is hard to put across how horrible his tone was, as on the surface to anyone reading this, it doesn't sound too bad – but... he was so RUDE to me. I am 23 year-old woman and this is just not something someone with proper etiquette should do. The food was very average and decor old fashioned. The onion bhajis were undercooked, with the flour paste inside still raw. Won't be back.

The Dilraj staff and meals are always superb and whether you eat in or use the takeaway option the food quality and taste is excellent. Rakib and his team make the experience worthwhile and good value for money. There is customer parking to the rear but the entry/exit is not for the feint hearted, as it is narrow. Brilliant food, taste and service at reasonable prices

It's alright, I had a takeaway which I collected. Fairly decent interior from what I briefly saw and a nice seating area to wait for your food to collect. The food itself tasted great but personally let down by the not so great chicken which tasted "old" (I understand it'd be difficult to make so many dishes without keeping the chicken preheated or whatever but just being honest) not awful though worth a visit!

An absolutely faultless takeaway meal for four. Ordered by phone, was ready within 15-20mins, and everything was really delicious. Really good that they do a half portion for smaller appetites too. My veggie curry was so fresh and clearly made with fresh veg (unlike some other outlets). We all enjoyed it, thank you! 😋😁

Absolutely fantastic! My friend and I had a lovely dinner here on Saturday night, and the food was incredible! Especially loved the king prawn bhuna. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. They are also really helpful if you have any allergies. Would highly recommend & will definitely be returning soon!

Collected a large takeaway order costing over £80. The salad bags with the starters were inedible, wet and mushy looked like the day befores. A special request for the vindaloo not to be quite so hot was totally ignored even though I was told that was no problem. It was ridiculously hot. The bhuna was distinctly average. A shame as has been amazing in the past.

Every time we eat here the food is always amazing and the service is great!

This is the second time I have visited The Dilrag and on both occasions the food and service has been first class. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, I would certainly visit again.

Had a very good meal here with a small group around Christmas. The restaurant was very busy, but we were served promptly and efficiently. All the dishes were distinctively different and fresh. We did feel rushed as soon as we finished our meal though, despite there still being plenty of time before our table needed vacating. Despite this, we would definitely return.

One of the best, if not the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Mango chutney was just amazing. Papadums land on your table quickly. Amazing food, chicken was so tender and cooked perfectly. All staff friendly and nice, lovely service. I will visit definitely again. There is a parking nearby where you can park for free.

I gave the food a three star only because it wasn't hot at all. I didn't have any chilli in my mains when it was meant to be hot. Otherwise everything was delicious 😋

Staying in the area and looking for places to eat, came across Dil Raj and took the change, wow the food was amazing and very tasty great curries plus service was just as amazing!! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

pleasant restaurant, food good quality, plush surroundings, nice lighting and clean white table cloths. Good size restaurant. We went early Sunday evening and really enjoyed it.

We had attentive service throughout and there was an excellent atmosphere- absolutely thriving on this Saturday evening and assume given lots of locals this is probably the norm. We had nice poppadoms and chutneys and good drinks to start. We were spoiled for choice from the menu but settled on a sizzling tandoori salmon and mixed grill with special fried rice, keema naan and saag paneer. All excellent. We really enjoyed our evening thank you.

If you're looking for a sit-down restaurant meal with great food and atmosphere, then The Dilraj meets all expectations. Not been in ages, but will definitely be going again. Thanks Dilraj.

Endte opp med take away fra Dilraj. Glimrende mat. Anbefales på det sterkeste. Eneste som trakk ned var at lokalet vat tomt for gjester, en søndag kl. 20…? Det skulle ha vært fullt.

We went to Dil Raj for what was originally going to be a Takeaway. They opened at 17:00... Upon walking in, we were welcomed with open arms by the staff here. The service was slick & precise....The waiter who served us was very polite and courteous throughout our experience at Dil Raj. The whole meal was well worth every penny.... If you're in the area,,, this is one place well worth a visit.... Excellent...!!

First time I've been and the food was great!

We have been eating food from The Dilraj for 30 years, always very good. Tonight I would like to thank the chef as our meal was exceptionally delicious.

Visited here with my uncle, Aunt and my aunt's mother. The staff Wass attentive, food was very flavourful and we'll presented. Atmosphere was warm and calming, nice and quiet too. Easy parking further down the road also! Prices were very reasonable.

Terrible service hiding the menus and adding extra charges without your notice and when you ask to see the menu staff refuses to show you the prices and tries to argue with you food was ok had better curry in other places I’ve visited but staff is the biggest let down won’t ever be returning

Sorry to say that we did not enjoy the food. It was probably the blandest Indian meal in memory. Hopefully this was just a blip as the reviews are generally good, so good luck to them.

Booked late on in the day after arriving at holiday let friendly service tasty meals only issue chicken was a bit chewy

There was nothing special on the menu - chicken, lamb or prawns and fish was salmon. None of the lovely Bangladeshi Catfish we liked. Wanted some veg with the meat -s o ordered methi tikka bhuna lamb - dish had lots of gravy but hardly any methi. Tried the Tandoori Mixed Mossala chicken, lamb and prawn curry - turned out disastrous - never had anything like that before and hope we'll never have it ever again. It was some made-up red gravy...the prawns were little tiny frozen cold water shrimps. No chutneys unless you order a poppadum...and then get charged for both! We saw quite a number of people coming in and ordering - locals who are used to them and they to the locals. But we have had better food in other Indian restaurants.

Flavours were good but too much oil despite asking for less - they didn’t pay attention and the meat was all really tough. Disappointing

We came from Leicester to celebrate our 15year anniversary and loved the food here. The nans were a bit pricey but besides that it was a lovely meal with a pleasant atmosphere :) the staff were lovely too.

Nice enough food, weird about me ordering mushroom bhaji. My girlfriend's was a little underdone for her taste too.

I have not been to the Dilraj or tried the food in about 10 years, probably more like 15. Had a takeaway tonight and need to say that it was the most disappointing Idian food I have had for a very long time. Where ever we travel we always sample the local Idian curry houses and the experience I had tonight was the worst. Agreed by my partner sloppy and tasteless. I will not be going back and should have stuck to the very decent and tasty Bengal Lounge. Never again Dilraj.

Immer wen ich meinen Kumpel in England besuche, müssen wir einmal im Dilraj essen. Es ist definitiv eines der besten indischen Restaurants was ich kenne. Seit über 25 Jahren astreine Qualität und supernette Bedienung. Total nette Personal, was einem die Speisen auch gut erklären kann und schnell raus hat, wo die persönlichen Grenzen bezüglich Schärfe liegen.

Under the current COVID restrictions the Dilraj provided us with a really tasty takeaway tonight. Stay safe and we look forward to eating back in the restaurant when social distancing and ‘lockdowns’ become a thing of the past.

I had a takeaway from Dilraj in December 19 after being recommended by a friend. Unfortunately I was very disappointed, the food lacked flavour, was very greasy, the chicken itself was over cooked and as such was dry and the food was cold (I was eating it within 5 minutes of collection). Not sure I’d return based on my experience.

Lovely food, but way too loud in there this time, with big groups and loud music. I understand it is Christmastime, but this is no good if anyone in your party is hard of hearing. The staff were also rushed off their feet and frantically rushing around, which didn’t help the whole atmosphere. I would go back (as I have been lots of times before), but be aware that this restaurant is quite small and when there are loud parties of people in there, it could be too noisy for some. It would be great if some sound absorbing panels could be installed.

Love this curry house. Lots of menu choices, always busy, so would advise booking, especially on a weekend. Lovely ambience and food to die for and competitively priced. Always helpful and in no rush to ask you to leave after finishing meal. Would recommend.

We ordered a takeaway, balti chicken tikka masala and a chef's special chicken pathila Raj and 2 nan breads, on opening the bag it was swimming with oil, both dishes looked the same bright red with the exception of a few green chillies, the Raj should have had fresh coriander, it looked like dry seaweed, the chicken in both dishes was dry, both nan breads were so dry they broke apart like chrisps, so disappointed, if the weather had not been so bad I would have taken the lot back.

Lovely local Indian to the town of Dursley. Really good menu and the food tastes fantastic.
