Sinbad Tandoori in Swindon

Absolutely shocking experience with this place..ordered a take away ,,food arrived cold ..poppadoms were like rubber ..onion borders were soggy,chips uncooked ,,rang in to the company to queries the shocking state of the food to be insured by the managers rudeness ,, please don't order from here I've wasted £35 on food to feed the trash bin .... SHOCKING PLACE

Sinbad has always been our go to Indian takeaway, with the last one in October 2022 which was as good as always. Last night however, was one of the worst Indian takeaways I have had from anywhere in a very long time. We ordered 3 curry's and a Korma sauce, the Chicken Tikka Balti with Saag was fine but the Buttered Chicken and the Chicken Tikka were basically odd versions of a Korma. The Buttered Chicken tasted like watered down Korma and the Masala was just a died red Korma, both of which were basically just not what was expected. The whole experience was also made worse by the extremely long wait for an initial 45 to 60 minute suggested delivery time which ended up being much closer to 2 hours, seriously not worth the wait. The onion bhaaji and Nan breads were ok but that did not make up for the rubbish main meals Not sure we will be going back to them again, at least not for a while, which is a real shame as the last one 6 or so months ago was up to their then usual standard.

Excellent Indian takeaway as usual can not fault,always a high standard and amazing taste which ever dish I try, think best takeaway in Swindon in my opinion

Just to say, we had a meal including two chicken makhani, a prawn Dansak and a vegetable curry and the meal was beautifully cooked. The sauce was thick (not runny), and hardly any surplus oil how we in our family all like it. Well done!

Been a while since we had a takeaway from here... just as good as its always been. Chicken Pathia, Chicken Tikka Massala, Keema rice, Peshwari naan were all excellent. Large portions with plenty of chicken.. enough for another meal the following day.. top takeaway no need to go anywhere else...

Great food, shame we were over charged. We ordered a separate tikka masala sauce separately yet we were charged the same as a full Chicken Tikka masala??? Portion was smaller and didn't contain any meat yet chargedfull price?

Asked for a spicy version of mince bhuna and lamb saag and it was cooked just to my request - tasted lovely.

Excellent food, well recommended, I cannot fault these guys and their food. I’m a cook and I can tell you now this place serves the best Indian in town.

It's not a he best in Swindon unfortunly. The meal we ordered that we order from another Indian in Swindon with less of a good rating was much better. More flavour and the breads done proper. This place very clean rice but not great , curry okay not great and breads not nice soft soggy. Disappointed

Had an amazing takeaway, we have used a lot of Indian takeaways but this is by far the best. The quality and taste of the food is so good.

I have been using Sinbads on Rodbourne Rd for 26 years and will never buy from any other curry house. I began buying from Sinbads as a teen when I lived in Rodbourne and continued to do so as an adult when I moved out of Rodbourne. My wife is now hooked on Sinbads since I introduced her to the food. Such a high standard of food with complex and rich flavours which are fantastic. If you can't wait for delivery because to be fair they're always busy (what do you expect) I suggest ordering and collecting. I order when I'm in the establishment and get my food within 10 minutes everytime..100% legit food..

This is by far the best curry house take-away in Swindon. Lovely food, I won’t go anywhere else, I always recommend this place to anyone who’s after a curry. The staff on the phone are lovely. You have to try it and you won’t be disappointed. If you get disappointed then communicate to the staff and they will sort it next time. Xxx

The best restaurant for curries packed with flavour! I was very impressed with the taste of every curry I’ve tried from Sinbads. Their naan breads are the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend!

Been a loyal customer for a number of years now, tried many other Indian takeaways and none compare to sinbads. The naan breads are hands down fantastic and the flavours are so rich in comparison to other takeaways. You dont know what you're missing out on

Sorry I can't leave a food review as they didn't answer either of the 2 phone numbers listed.They were clearly there as the lines were engaged at times.Went on Just Eat and ordered in 2 minutes with another place.Why bother if you can't do the basics.

I have used Sinbad deliveries a lot over the past few months. They are always courteous and the food delivered on time. BUT, it has become more and more salty to the point where Ill now be trying elsewhere. Don't be thinking I'm some sort of curry beginner - have been enjoying them for years all over the country. I know what too much salt is.

Excellent food and service well worth every penny spent. Would recommend to anyone as they will make any type of curry even if it’s not on the menu

I always go to Sinbad tandoori for both collection and delivery the staff both in house and their drivers are second to none and always fast and efficient service.

As always brilliant food and service. Chicken tikka masala is the best in swindon if not the country. Nann bread is massive and full of flavour. And as always delivered pipping hot and as quick as possible. The driver was very smartly dressed and very polite. Wouldn't order from anywhere else. Keep it up sinbads.

Once again we had a lovely meal. Delivery was very fast, very nice delivery man and the food was hot and very tasty. Thank you Sinbad, this was the first meal I haven't had to cook since lockdown started.

Very disappointed with the order today it seems like it was a completely different curry from previous order perhaps cook by different chef.Very sad as it was going to be a family meal celebrating Eid instead making all family members disappointed.If it was a difficult day due to Eid Sinbad should have take a day off and close for the day instead of providing poor quality food and disappoint other family on Eid

2nd lockdown takeaway. Superb. Although extremely busy early on a Saturday, the service was great. The food as good as always. No better indian takeaway in Swindon. Would highly recommend the south indian garlic chilli chicken. Excellent

My first takeaway from Sinbad's after recommendation from a work colleague. I ordered the Rashmee Kebab followed by a Jay Puri Tikka with a plain Nan bread. I can without exaggeration say this was the best kebab I’ve ever eaten, followed by the best curry I’ve eaten in a long time. Truly delicious. Both dishes were spicy, but not overly hot or over powering, with a great combination of spices. The cumin notes in the kebab meat were very pleasant, and tongue tingling . The Jay Puri was a dish I’d not ordered before, but this may now be my new ‘go to’ curry dish! The fragrant flavours of the Jay Puri were a highlight for me, every mouth full lead to tasting discovery. My four colleagues also spoke highly of the food they ordered and consumed, voicing similar praise. Delivery was prompt. We will all be back, I can promise.

First takeaway since lock down. First takeaway from Sinbad tandoori. Delicious food. Quick and excellent service. The delivery driver was very pleasant and wearing PPE gloves. Though it is my first it certainly won't be my last.

Ordered food from here tonight and it was fantastic! I had chicken tikka saag and mushroom bhaji and they were both on point. Definitely recommend.

Just have takeaway for two, Dopiaza and jalfrezzi with lots of sides. Absolutely great very nice quality all way thro meal with even the rice having lovely lime and lemon hints. Chicken in both really good texture and perfect amount of spice and heat.Definitely be coming back much more frequently!

First time we’ve ordered in a long while, but decided to treat ourselves for my daughters birthday, and unable to go out as everything shut. Quick delivery (35 mins) and the food was the best I’ve had from anywhere in a long time. Samosas were delicious as was the Lamb Korai, onion bhajis and the butter chicken was especially good. Generous portions and everything piping hot. Top marks, we are all stuffed and feeling very happy on lockdown tonight.

We ordered this evening for the first time, unfortunately we were delivered the wrong order.However, after contacting Sinbad they apologised and freshly made our correct order for us, the delivery driver was excellent, a credit to this restaurant, and it’s clear that they value customer service highly.More importantly the food was exceptional, full of flavour and ultimately the best Indian food I’ve eaten in Swindon.Thank you guys, we will be back for more soon!

Ordered for the first time tonight. Ordering by phone for home delivery was quick and efficient. Order was delivered earlier than time advised.Delivery driver was really pleasant. We all loved our choices, Really tasty and filling.. Definitely ordering again.

We decided to use Sinbad's for our event on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Lots of different curries and ALL the extras arrived at our venue exactly when it was due and with a smile. So tasty! Some of our crew needed gluten free and vegetarian; these were separated and labelled. Yes we will definitely book with Sinbad's Tandoori again. Thank you for making our evening colourful.

Got the order wrong, so now the part of the order they got right is getting cold while they deliver what was missed - Interestingly they wanted the rice back that they had delivered by mistake - hope they aren't going to give that to another customer

We have a curry most Friday nights for dinner. A very varied menu and we try new dishes ! Portion sizes are good, and the home delivery is very good with very friendly drivers.

Just had a superb curry I had the chicken vindaloo which was full of chicken and very enjoyable my partner had chicken makhani which she also enjoyed would recommend this Indian takeaway

Don’t know what happened tonight as the food is normally excellent. Food was too hot to eat,no taste of nice spices as normal. Had to bin the lot... very disappointing as I always recommend Sinbads to everyone. Total waste of money tonight, won’t happen again.

Me and my parents have been ordering from this take away for years and years, and we have never ever been disappointed! The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because even though we've been coming here years and order a curry every single week from here we still have to go through the same conversation on the phone every time, our address, postcode etc etc, you'd think we'd be able to just say our name by now and they'd know...

Can't even get the simplest of orders correct! Wasn't a complex order, two meals and sides! Didn't care when rang up! Avoid!

Good local takeaway with a nice standard of food. Menu comprises the usual Indian staples - no surprises, but is a good reliable standard of food. Friendly staff would recommend as a local takeaway.

The standard of food here really is a cut above the rest, I do like a hot curry, the chicken jalfrezi and the chicken garlic chilli masala are full of flavour, great special fried rice and the peshwari Nan is thick and flavoursome providing a break from the heat of the curry. Just what you need on a cold winters night.

Tuvimos que esperar 2 horas y nos había pedido la comida justo después de las 6 de la tarde. No avisarnos que sería 1 y 1 / 2 a 2 horas, y que no fue ninguna sorpresa, ya que es un sábado por la noche cerca de Navidad. Pedimos nuestro habitual pero optamos por un Patia Cordero Patia en vez de un pollo Patia y así como este tuvimos un pollo Makhani por primera vez en la recomendación de un miembro de la familia. Tengo que decir que definitivamente tienen este, ya que es muy sabrosa. El chico de la entrega era muy amable y se disculpó por el retraso en la entrega.

One of my favourite takeaway in Swindon. We enjoyed our takeaway at Sinbab tandoori with my friends. They offer incredibly good value with a selection of curries,rice,bread and yeah wide range of starters too.. I would highly recommend this takeaway and I'm looking forward for my next visit..

I often see poor reviews for Sinbad's and I am always surprised. We have lived close to Sinbad's for more than 20 years and have regularly had takeaways delivered over all of those years. We are a bit boring in that we have the same dishes each time but why change what you enjoy. We ordered a Lamb Kasmiri, a Chicken Patia, with Mushroom Rice and a portion chips. Sometimes we also order Onion Bhajis but we refrained on this occasion. The food is always delivered hot and is truly tasty. Although the telephone ordering can be a little abrupt, the delivery fellas are always very friendly. Whilst we continue to have excellent food, we will continue to use Sinbad's.

I really enjoyed this! I was a bit apprehensive as Google Reviews had 3 one star reviews (4+ years ago mins) but wow! Really lovely food, the nicest I've had in Swindon. I love Indian and I've tried many in Swindon and this definitely is the best I've tried personally. Came quickly, delivery driver was very nice and food was brilliant. Also the lad who took my order was very nice too and even though I made a last minute change, he didn't mind and in other places if you did that you'd hear huffing and puffing. Will be purchasing all my future Indian takeaways from here!

This is easily the best Indian takeaway in Swindon, the food is very well cooked with everything tasting so fresh including the salad. The portions are very generous and the food is always consistently the same excellent flavour, the delivery chap is very nice and always asks if we are ok, some times the delivery time on the weekend can be an hour but this just backs up how good a busy this takeaway must be but if you can't wait it's always a nice place to pop in and collect the food as the man behind the counter and the head chef are very pleasant and welcome you with a smile and conversation when he can in between taking orders on the phone.This place is a must try and we highly recommend the jay puri tikka from the sinbad specialities.

My husband and I ordered a delivery at 6:45 arrived at 8pm without my meal. I called immediately and told them my food was missing. The gentleman told my husband that the driver had a few more deliveries and would then go back to collect and deliver. I took over the call and said that wasn't good enough and we ordered our meal together as we wanted to eat together. The man on the phone didn't care so I insisted on speaking to the manager he was full of excuses and in ordinary circumstances I'd accept that however... This is not the first time, granted it's been over a year but once delivery was almost 2hrs and prior to this they forgot my food. Against my better judgment we ordered again from here. After a chat with the manager he agreed to deliver by 8:15pm (my bad I should have specified I wanted it today!) As a "goodwill gesture" the manager is sending a bottle of coke (that I dont drink), I don't advise going to this take away!!

Been ordering from sinbads on and off for a few years, food always okay, delivery hit and miss, attitude on phone very rude just ordered curry this evening i said i wanted to pay over the phone all i got was a hugh sigh and a huff gave him my details didnt even say thankyou or anything just slammed the phone down on me.

Tried a curry from here for the first time this evening. I've eaten from the same very well known curry house in swindon for the past 22 years but have decided to have a change after some poor food in the past year. I was recommended Sinbads from some friends. The gentleman who took the order was happy and easy to talk too also. When I called back to change my order he was perfectly fine and nothing was a problem. The meal came on time and quickly via a very happy swindon fan, again very polite also. So the food, hot hot hot so that's a huge bonus. Masala was rich and tasty with perfect amount of flavour, jalfrai was warm on the mouth but not over powering and the chicken in both dishes was moist and fell apart. Dry veg curry was again just perfect and the rice was fluffy and very nice. Looks like I will be using sin ads from now on.

Used to use this establishment for years but when a local Indian restaurant/take away appeared in our area (Peatmoor) we used that for convienience, the local one has been declining in quality over the past few months to a popnt where my son and I got food poisening just before xams and as a result had an awful xmas. On a new years eve 6 of us friends order a take a way and see the new year in at one of our homes, as a result of our bad experience locally ( and regularly we are waiting over an hour past our agreed collection time) we ordered our take away from Sinbads ( the day before NYE, £84 worth) for delivery at 8pm in peatmoor on NYE, the food arrived bang on 8pm and was excellent and plentyfull and reminded us of how we used to enjoy Sinbads food before.Needless to say we will now always be using sinbads again in future, well done guys and many thanks for making our NYE special

Ordered food to be delivered 1 hr late no food still ..called said on way .. Turnt up and one meal wrong .. Called curry place man got irate at me said he was boss then passed me to other staff sorted order .. Then delivered to what same thing sent out .called and explained as worked what I paid for to be charged a extra 2/3 extra and staff was rude and hung up twice .. Will not be ordering ever again x though one mess up fist time would of been enough but 2 times .... Bad

I've never eaten here in person, but I have ordered many take aways from Sinbad. I highly recommend their chicken dansak - hot and sour - the best I've ever tasted.

Firstly I disagree with the review of 16 April 14 which shows the mentality of the person. We have been getting our curry on a regular basis from sinbads. The food and service is always great. We would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food.

Went to this take away because are friends said it was ok, it was more than ok, was gorgeous, service is pleasant to, since that visit I go at least once a week, Mmm

Had a problem with our order but didn't know till we got home ( 1 minute away from the curry house) rang to say could we get a new curry in which the man just gave abuse and comments such as "women can't look after anything" trying to blame us for the fault. Partner took it straight back and still had to argue with the man to get a replacement. Claiming once the curry has left the shop it is no longer anything to do with him. I wanna if it would still be the same if I had found a bug or anything in my food?? Attitude problem and didn't like the sexist comments either.

the service and food were apalling ! will definately be sticking to fish and chips in future, getting bored of the slop immigrants class as food

We switched to this takeaway because our local went down hill. We are really pleased and get a great curry, pleasantly delivered without too much wait .
