Restaurant has now closed. It was set up as a Chai Cafe but that has also closed. No notice#to say what is happening. chutney is opposite and is very good

Popped into Vassu for lunch on a Sunday for the first time at this Atul Kochar restaurant, although we have been to several of his other venues. First impressions were fairly good- the restaurant looked sleek and was cosy at the same time. The manager wasn't exactly welcoming - a man of few words it seems! Anyway, fortunately our server was Rohit, who was amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We both had a glass of the Atul Kochar prosecco (delicious!) whilst we perused the menu. We decided on the Set Menu, and although some of the dishes seemed familiar, we knew the Atul Kochar touch would elevate even the humblest of dishes! My husband and I both chose to have a basket of freshly made popadoms which come with two types of home made chutney - I wish they would bottle it as they're so good! We both then chose same starters of chicken tikka with mint chutney- the flavours were fabulous and the chicken was cooked to perfection. For the main course, I chose to have Tandoori Jhinga Malai Curry - tandoori tiger prawns with a coconut and onion curry sauce. The contrast between the delicately spiced Tandoori tiger prawns with the creamy coconut curry was sublime! My husband chose the Gosht Khada Masala - diced lamb in a tomato and onion spiced masala sauce - adorned with fresh herbs and ginger, which he declared 'melt-in-the-mouth, and probably the best lamb curry he'd eaten - quite an accolade! The mains were accompanied by complementary pilau rice and the most deliciously creamy black dahl (I could eat a dish of the black dahl by myself it's so morish!). To round off our meal perfectly, I had the strawberry tart and chocolate mousse with textures for my hubby. Rohit also surprised me with a little birthday brownie, which was totally unexpected, but a lovely touch. The wine list here is extensive, but we eventually chose a Pinot noir rosé which worked extremely well with the delicate spices and herbs in our dishes. We had such a lovely relaxing time at Vassu - food and wine were superb and Rohit a fabulous asset to this venue. Go - you won't be disappointed!

Take out meal, curry was closer to soup than curry, with a few pieces of meat floating in it. Worst I have ever experienced, only saving grace it was warm

We were recommended by our friends, S & G, who are regular customers. The Chicken Karahi and Tarka Dall were excellent and reasonably priced. We'll certainly be back for more!

Not eaten here but visited recently and realised it's closed. Assume permanently.

We are frequent visitors of this lovely restaurant. Visited last night for a birthday dinner as a group of 13. Staff were very helpful on the phone when I called to book, and even rang a couple of hours before our booking to confirm we were still coming. On arrival, table was beautifully presented with candles and hot plates to keep the food warm. Staff were on hand to take our orders, and did not rush us. Everybody in our group was very happy with their food and all said they would come again. Food was hot and plentiful. Added bonus, you can bring your own alcohol. Thank you Raj, we will be back!

I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled Maharaja Burger for lunch. It is a distinct Indian take on the classic with the flavoursome onion bhaji and sauce. Would highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Thank you Viceroy!

Delivery order placed online and then rejected after 10 mins. 5 days for a refund, no one picking up the phone. What a joke!

Incredible experience, as soon as we entered we were welcomed with warm smiles from all the staff and immediately shown to our table. The staff were attentive and the food as always was immense. The manager I believe ‘Anwar’ was nothing short of incredible, he made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. I would reccomend this place to anyone considering going. Thank you for a lovely time! Will definitely be back soon.

4 of us enjoyed good food and excellent service eating in at the Elaichi last night. I’ve eaten here frequently and never been disappointed

Una noche fría húmeda miserable, así que lo que quieres es un cálido/caliente curry, un gran ambiente y un gran servicio, y nos dieron ... un curry. El lugar es "traer tu propio alcohol y no hay nada malo con eso. El servicio, así que me sentí que era lo hizo a regañadientes. Fue "tibia" en el mejor de los casos. La comida era, ¿qué puedo decir? Fue curry, curry es invariablemente siempre Oww Kayy y fue que Kay-Ish de Owwww. Menú era estándar, nada especial. Sin duda no saldría de mi camino para venir aquí de nuevo, parecía el lugar un poco descuidado, como la comida y el servicio para ser sincero. Probablemente fue el más insulso desayuno decidimos buscar algún lugar en nuestra larga lista de casas de curry/comida para llevar para probar ... En el lado positivo el aparcamiento era genial y no es caro. No puedo quejarme de ellos.

The worst indian meal I have ever eaten, no flavour most of the meal went in the bin, very disappointed, in the past we have been very happy with the Bay Leaf but think it is now run by different owners

We waited 20 minutes for starters had flat drinks waited another 15 for our order to be taken before we got fed up and left, worst Indian experience ever.
