Okay food with lots of home made vegan options.

Had a takeaway rather than eat in and was a bit underwhelmed for what we got for £45 for two people - the dosa needed filling and only half the filling seemed to be have been supplied, and the biryani was very heavy on cloves. It's great there's so much vegan choice but I probably wouldn't eat here again.

Staff was rude. Only 1 person was managing the orders, service, kitchen, cooking. Masala dosa was broken into pieces, although it tasted good. Very limited quantity sambhar not adequate to go with the dosa, would charge extra if needed a bit more. Food was good though

OK if you are desperate, but not that nice, a little like dish washer taste. I had the chicken thali, which was one small pot of chicken and the rest was veg. Should have just ordered the veg thali. The dosa was sad which my wife ordered. Not to impressed.

I’ve had so much food here, and it always tastes amazing! Service is so fast too and friendly, definitely would recommend to everyone regardless of what kind of food you’re in the mood for 😊

I never leave reviews. But the food I ate truly warrants one. Absolute quality! I ordered a chicken Thali takeaway. Easily enough for two people with a couple of extra poppadoms. First class flavours! Very impressed

There is no option for negative stars unfortunately. Dosa Special owner - kindly don't take it any offensive or personally. Cusione : Ordered Chicken Biryani + Mutton Biryani + 3 Starters. Starters are from Iceland frozen which is fine but the Biryani's are nothing but rice with some curry made out of curry paste/tomato puree and coconut milk (to be authentic that too not real coconut?). So the food is negative and on top of that the price was higher than other restaurants who actually give biryanis. Place - takeaway setup not fit for restaurants. Service - Don't expect any but the couple are nice people. Don't go here if you want authentic Srilankan/Indian food as there are far more better places.

We went there at 9.15pm but they made us awesome fresh coconut chutney and yummy dosa. They are really polite and friendly. Their taste of dosa felt like home.

Just had my first thali delivered. Absolutely fabulous authentic southern Indian food & amazing value. I work in HW so can’t wait to visit in person soon.

They take hours to serve the food . You either order before 1 hour before you go to restaurant or be prepared to spent atleat 2 hour for a simple dinning . Total waste is of time

We visited this place as it was ghe nearest South Indian restaurant near to us. Was worried as some r/v were not good whereas others were very good. So not sure what to expect. Food was really good. Very small cafe like place but food was first class.

We visited on a rainy day and were well looked after with friendly service which warmed us up as well as the delicious food! We both had the vegetarian thali which was subtly seasoned with complex flavours you only get in authentic South Indian food. Great presentation too! Will visit again when next in High Wycombe :)

Basic decor , no frills seating. Extensive Sri Lankan & South Indian menu. We went in very early evening & the place was empty. Difficult to choose from such a wide ranging choice but in the end we all went for Dosas because it's difficult to make them at home. In my opinion South Indian food is one of the worlds best cuisines so can't get enough of it. Good reason to come back here a few more times. Friendly couple running the show, very reasonable prices. Helpful in that dishes are indicated as to vegan , dairy , gluten etc.

Its a very small SriLankan restaurant. Cost is okay for few dishes, taste is also good. They have good variety of food. The disadvantage is the limited seating available. Also good place to have quick bite in the evening

Family run cheap eat. Small place, seats about 18 people. Excellent service, very friendly and delicious dosa for a very reasonable price. Menu was very extensive with lots of options only tried the dosa - which was fab.

Awful! Waited over ten mins to have my order taken! This is NOT a large restaurant and it wasn't busy! I obviously wasn't the only one who was waiting to have my order taken; another group got up and left. Who knows how long they were waiting.

So many vegan and gluten options and everything labeled well. The flavours are spice are balanced, just soo very very good and very decent portions. Really worth a go. Food is amazing, Super friendly staff, Food so tasty, Definitely 5 star place, Epic flavours, Gluten free vegan options

**Terrible experience ** Served a portion of SPOILED CHICKEN 65 having a bad stomach now, they haven’t apologised for it however they severed a new portion with fresh chicken. Please don’t spoil the name of South Indian and srilankan food. This is restaurant is absolutely overrated

Love the tasty, authentic food here and the owners are so nice. Fantastic value for money. Especially recommended to vegans/vegetarians.

Average food taste with very bad customer service. Thaali had most of the frozen vegetables. Kotu roti also had frozen vegetables with lot of black pepper. Asked for tap water and they do not even provide tap water. Inadequate quantity of Sambhar and Chutney's with the Dosa. No Customer Service at all. A smile from staff would be useful to feel people welcomed. Avoid if you can!

Great food at a reasonable price.

Special Dosa prepare generous and delicious food. We had lunch there today and it took us back to traveling in South India and Sri Lanka. We had the South Indian Breakfast (idly, wadi, masala dosa with soup and chutneys), which I highly recommend. We will return!

Great vegan options including dosa

Ordered 2 string hoppers kottu yesterday. I don’t even bother to leave a review. Really waste of money. I should have taken bad reviews to my consideration before I placed an order. Awful

I've had a fare share of dosa's to know that the masala dosa and myore dosa I ordered from here was just so poor.Please go somewhere else if it is a proper dosa you are looking for not a washed up version.

50 mins back We ordered food, we just tasted the items and im writing review. mutton chukka & chicken 65, which are extremely spicy with full of black pepper powder and dried red chillies and we feel no other taste even after adding lots of salt. Mutton roll which has no mutton but just potato is ok. Chicken thaali in main is full of worst tasting veg curries, And one buttet chicken where the chicken cubes are floating in coconut flavoured water is the worst i had in my life. If you are craving for south Indian food avoid this place, and don't believe in the positive reviews they had, bcoz we trusted those and ended up with utter disappointment.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. The food is astonishingly good, particularly the dosa. The owners are delightful and will make you feel most welcome.

Been coming here for years! As a vegan there's a wealth of options to make every visit excitingly different and varied. The same goes for non vegans! My picky eater daughter who is 8 year old will happily wolf down the Dahl and spinach so when I need a worry free evening, dosa special it is! Love this place!

This was our first time to this lovely takeaway and was definitely not disappointed. It was lovely. Friendly service and delicious food. Everything was perfect! I cannot speak highly enough of this takeaway. We'll definitely be back.

Stumbled across this place and I am so happy I did. The food is beyond delicious. Comfort foods that are authentic and cooked fresh to order. No frills type of place, but worth every bite. Great prices. Definitely will return.

I ordered food for my Dad's 80th Birthday. The service received during ordering and collecting was courteous and with a smile. The food turned out to be amazingly delicious (wow!! ) - authentic South Indian/Sri Lankan "home made - style" cooked food, made with love ;o). Thank you for making his and our day :o)

Good quality ingredients but no salt, no taste and doesn't stand out as Srilankan or south Indian in any sort. Wouldn't recommend it.

Good south indian in bucks if you want a quick cheap meal. Food is not super spicy which suits me just fine.

Dusting food. Not authentic at all. We stopped by on our road trip form London to Oxford and people here must not know what real south asian / Srianklan food is to give it such high rating. The Dosa was uncooked (how can you possible leave the dosa uncooked?!) I have taken pictures of the food and will add it here for people to see how disgusting the food look and it taste even worse. We ordered about 4 dishes and all dishes are 0/10. Disgraceful! THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC AT ALL!!!

We arrived at this spot for lunch. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very nice. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we shall absolutely come back again. Keep it up.

In my opinion take away restaurants are often hit and miss by it safe to say this is a little gem. The food is delicious, with great asian flavours. The premises are extremely tidy, clean and well organised. I will definitely order from here again.

We ordered a take away which didn’t initially go through but the communication wasn’t forthcoming. We finally got the order and it had hair in it! When I complained the guy said we will give you food next time without hair.!!!! That was his reasoning!!!! Yuk! Never eating here again. Be warned!

These guys need to concentrate on customer service as the food is delicious. Orders on the phone are almost impossible due to the language barrier which is a real same because the quality of food is good.

Nothing much has changed since our last visit earlier this year. This restaurant tried hard and get it right. Do go for an excellent, cheap feast.

Quite a quirky restaurant, very simple and bland looking inside. We came here for lunch and the place was deserted. Ordered a Chicken 65 starter with Chole Bhattura as a main and my mum had the Dosa! The Chicken 65 was good, but served alone without any dips, so not ideal. My Chole came in the tiniest serving dish known to man, but was tasty, as were the Bhattura. Prices are very reasonable and service was friendly. The place could do with sprucing up a bit, but the food is sound and fresh.

Lovely authentic Sri Lankan food.. I would say this is the first time it matches with the food tastes same like back in home.

So impressed with this unassuming little restaurant. The food was excellent and packed with so much care. One of my best take-away experiences.

Sadly I was a little disappointed with my visit to dosa special. The food was average, and I didn’t get the crispy delicious dosa I was hoping for.One of the accompanying chutneys for the dosa was quite bitter and not pleasant to the point I couldn’t eat it.Though it hasn’t put me off going back and trying something else. Maybe I was just unlucky.

We shared a dosa and a tali, both were great! Really fresh and really delicious flavours. Friendly relaxed environment too. Highly recommend :)

Ordered 18 pounds worth of food. They all went in bin after a few bites. Ordered paneer and potato dosa. Potatoes were tasteless. Paneer was literally fried and added to potatoes. No matter what potato dish i order its alwars same recipe. No wonder they have the millions of dishes on their menu. Do a few dishes and do them well. Ordered salty lassi. Was like i received thick yogurt. Im sure that is not lassi. Never ordering from there again. Ps. Im still starving and hangry.

Having read the reviews I had high hopes that this would be one of those humble hidden gems. I hate being negative about a small business run by tow clearly hard working people and hope their business flourishes but do want to warn others. Firstly the curries blew my head off so I could only get through half of them. So either know you want a searing hot meal or ask them to tone it down. Secondly the dishes were just not great. The crab curry had a ferocious and salty sauce which had flavour too as potential but the crab was basically a dissected small spider crab or similar. A carcass. Bit of an ideal to find any flesh to eat. The spinach and potato dish was watery and lacking aromatic spicing but at the same time burned my mouth. Finally the recommended bread, a paratha of some kind, was rather heavy and doughy. Again, sorry to report this and maybe I was unlucky.

South Indian restaurant with a home made food. Cheap and tasty with an amazing owner.

We were a family party of 7 people and Yalini could not have been more helpful in accommodating us. We were carefully guided through the menu to make sure our grandchildren understood what they were going to order. The food was super - well cooked and very reasonably priced. OK, it's not a special restaurant with expensive furnishings, but it is spotlessly clean and welcoming. Do go.

Amazing, authentic South Indian food and cheap.

By way of an introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine, we were personally guided through and advised on the best of the menu to try - crab curry being outstanding as advised by the very personable owner.

Looking for something different, we searched for Indian food in High Wycombe, this place was high on the tablets listings. We thought about trying a couple of dishes, but the aramaic from the kitchen, friendly welcome and first few dishes being so delicious, we stayed for a really enjoyable meal. My first Sri Lankan meal, I would definitely eat here again.

I had authentic crab curry and Sri Lankan dosa. Priced reasonably.

This place is so authentic and the people that run it are lovely. It's very very well priced and the veggie options are amazing, we tend to have the thali which gets you a lot of curry and a starter for £8! The dosas are also very very good along with Gobi 65 which is cauliflower based. I will definitely be going back again!
