The Mowchak in Wycombe

An evening dine-in visit as a family group of six, including two children. Great quality food, generous portions, great service, and great prices. Midweek "banquet" option is especially good value. We all enjoyed the visit and would definitely return.

Used to go to the Mowchak regularly. Every curry since has to match to that memory of 20+ years ago. This is the first time a curry has matched that expectation. Amazing food.

too hot never been like this before ruined the meal

Delivered an hour and a half late. Apparently first order was delivered to another address. When it finally arrived the madras had 4 bits of chicken in a soup like sauce. Will not be ordering from here again.

All tasted nice but. Rice portion is small enough but the container wasn’t even full. The Naan’s are half the size they used to be too. A lot of money for a little amount of food.

App is difficult to use. No indication that delivery is on the way until a phone call from the driver that it has arrived! Not convenient compared to other food delivery apps around the world. Food was ok—some dishes better than others. Disappointing that papadums don’t come with any sauces at all. Food low in spice for the most part.

Absolutely beautiful meals , all of them! Gosh , those onion bahjis with the dip were amazing last night! The nice courier arrived earlier , food was piping hot , well packaged. As always .

Delivery was way too early even though I’d set a delivery time and the restaurant phone was constantly busy when I tried to call. However, when reheated the food was absolutely delicious and outstanding. I imagine it would’ve been even better fresh. I’ll order again but won’t rely on the restaurant to note earliest delivery time.

Always have a wonderful time at the Mowchak. Riaz Is airways so friendly and gives exceptional service. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced! We have eaten here many times and also occasionally ordered takeaway/delivery as well. Always delicious food. Even though our house is hard to find, (we live in the sticks) the delivery is always prompt, hot and just as you would get in the restaurant.

Food excellent as always just late on this occasion however the restaurant did call me to say that they were running late so still a happy customer 👍🏻

Lamb very tuff and chewy, gravy very good the bread had credited placed on top not part of the bread or even melted in. No dips to go with the starter which were very dry rice excellent.

It’s a shame you can’t add pictures. All the Currys leaked in the bag due to way too much excess fat sitting on top of the curries. The sauce in what I could explain looked like curdled sauce with Fat along the top. You would have to skim off at least 12 tablespoons maybe more on the madras to get to the actual sauce. Whist I’ve eaten in the restaurant and eating in ain’t bad (not the best) but take away is never going to be an option for me again..

Yet another exceptional experience at The Mowchak in Downley Village. And yet another positive review by myself. Just cannot fault. Sunday and Wednesday they have a banquet night - £14.95pp, and that is great value itself, and anyway, all the dishes are reasonably priced even if you’re not attending those two aforementioned days. Bring your own bottles too. So pop along, and see for yourself what I’m talking about, I dare you. You won’t be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Still the best curry I’ve ever had! Regulars here, and have never had a bad meal. Couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff are lovely and prices are more than reasonable for what you get

Nice chilled authentic Indian restaurant. The food was great, with knowledgable suggestions from the server. Dishes served piping hot and really tasty. The king prawn shashlik was gorgeous. Riaz, the owner, is a great guy, honest, and really welcoming. 10/10

Food literally swimming in oil! And has also stained our table. Food had to be drained before eating it, requested refund for this food.

Ordered chicken got veg curry I couldn’t be bothered to complain as it was getting late and I have to eat to take medication by a certain time, however it was very nice

This was our second visit and we came with friends this time. The food was exceptional. The chef was happy to cook a potato vindaloo which was not on the menu which we were very greatful for. The service was impeccable and very friendly. Will definitely be going back and will share the experience positively with others. Well done Mowchak and thankyou!

Went for a banquet lunch. Atmosphere was uncomfortable. No background music nothing. Being the only table in the place we almost felt we couldn't talk. Took 20 minutes for our order to be taken and almost a further hour before our starters arrived. Starters were nice but that was as good as it got. Chicken in two mains was bone dry and the mains were tepid at best. Drinks overpriced. Plenty of food but really not worth the money paid. Gentleman serving us was okay but could do with some training in customer service.

Ordered from here several times - always great quality food though we noticed this time around that there may be an issue with the Just Eat pricing for the Balti as when choosing the meat it adds another £7 or £8 to the total price bringing this to £16-£17. Would be great to get this resolved if this is an error!

Fantastic food and fantastic size portions. For me, it is the best Indian food you can get in High Wycombe at the moment. In 2024, the food and portion sizes are still fantastic. The prices have increased, but it is still worth it.

Bit expensive, but tasty and would buy again. Food arrived still hot, the delivery guy was nice and friendly, ordering was easy enough. The only thing I would mention is that in the chat description (starters) it says chicken or potato and then the only live option available is for potato. Shame as I wanted chicken, but happy enough to substitute it.

Food was alright - not very warm when we received it which is a shame - the food was late We were also missing onion bhaji, naan and a vindaloo sauce that we ordered Not great overall, as the spicy sauce was integral to the meal itself.

Cosy little restaurant which allows you to bring your own alcohol. Mixed grill very good. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff.

Curries with no real flavour. Poor cuts of processed chicken. Bland samosas, not even 1 complimentary poppadom and we spent £40.
