I have to qualify this review by saying that we were the only people in the restaurant at the time, but given the attention to detail by the staff, I have no reason to doubt that service would be any less good when they're busy! We thought that this was a superb meal (we did over-order a bit: a large starter between two, two main course meat dishes, three veg side dishes and two breads, so we had to walk slowly after we finished!), with the complimentary poppadoms before, the lemon sorbet palate cleanser, and the little (but nice) gimmick with the hot towel afterwards, bookended the meal, and made it a modern dining experience, whilst maintaining great traditional flavours in the food. Two courses in just over an hour, and we didn't feel rushed at any point, in fact we dawdled for 15 minutes so that we were in a more fit condition to stand up! :) I really liked this place, and we'll definitely be back again

Visited the Curry Centre on Saturday ,my friend pre booked and we were able to get the booth which was super comfy. We received free popadoms and chutneys ! When visiting the restaurant was fairly busy and the restaurant seemed low on staff however the waiter was helpful and friendly she always checked up on us, the people working behide the bar were always smiling and made the environment more comfortable. The food was amazing and at the end we were given FREE lemon sorbet and a hot towel which was nice . I would definitely recommend coming here again!!!

I write this review as I am sat in the restaurant. I am that annoyed, I feel I should convey my disappoint course by course. I arrived without reservation. With this I was asked to sit on the couch to await a cancelled booking, "But this may take a while" There were no bookings on tables. If you have reservations show it & I wouldn't have come in! Eventually I am seated at table 13 "unlucky , you didn't book" said my server So it took 45 mins from me being seated to have my order taken. Yes I was served 1 poppadom however if you had asked I would probably have ordered more. It's now 7.45pm. I came in at 6.45 and I'm still waiting for my starter. Also why in such a "posh" place is the intercom system a microphone which interrupts the music each time it's used????? So 8.10 my main arrives. The rice is in an enclosed bowl which is too hot too handle. I use my napkin but still burn my fingers to which the bar staff right in front of my giggle n tell me there is no way of regulating the temperature. The curry is ok, but very dry. I hoped my garlic chicken would have sauce and a kick but nope it was very plain. Almost a pasanda The saving grace is the off menu Cheese & Garlic naan... full of flavour As an aside.... why do the delivery drivers come to the fire escape? Every time it opens there is a massive draft through the place.

We called in here on a Tuesday evening for dinner without booking. There was room and we ordered a series of side dishes which were all delicious - sag paneer, caulifower bagee, chickpeas, aubergines - all delicious with a stuffed paratha and boiled rice that was enough for 2 people. The spinach was fresh and all the dishes delicately spiced and not swimming in sauce. My mouth is watering just writing this review!

Booked a table for 4 and sat in one of the booths. After a warm welcome and a complimentary glass of prosecco for the 'mothers'. We ordered different dishes from the menu and all the food was delicious and piping hot. My chicken madras was lovely and fiery. We could not fault the service from all the staff. I liked the décor and relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant. We were in High Wycombe for a family function and were glad we stayed over to eat at this restaurant. What a shame we live 4 hours drive away. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.

It was a pleasure to return to the Curry Centre following its refurbishment. The food remains excellent along with incredibly attentive staff. Very good food servings with delicately flavoured spices. The menu is wide ranging with many of their own dishes on offer in addition to the usual carry dishes. Along with the excellent food and service they provide a few little extras that you would not usually expect to be included. We wood highly recommend this as a place to eat for a date or evening out with friends. Will definitely return! Thank you once again.

We have been here twice now in recent weeks. Without hesitation this is the best Indian restaurant for miles. Having undergone a total facelift the restaurant is now modern, light and has a good ambience. The staff are very friendly, discrete and helpful. The food is amazing. Over the two visits we have tried a variety of curries and not one has failed to impress. All the food has been well cooked and actually contains the flavours that they are meant to. The lamb passanda in particular actually had cardamom in it and was made with succulent lamb, instead of some cheaper cut of meat. Definitely our ‘go to’ Indian.

We went last week for lunch and on entry into the restaurant we were seated by the host. After pursuing the menu we were approached by a gentleman who introduced himself as the owner (Dulon) apologies if I have misspelt the name. Straight away I was put off by his stance that we should order the starters and mains together. I explained that we had come to enjoy our meal and would not be ordering in this manner. This dampened the atmosphere for us and we proceeded to order our starters. After much deliberation to stay or leave. The starters arrived in a reasonable time and whilst the okra and potato dishes were nice, disappointingly the lamb chops were tough and covered in a sticky sauce. The mains followed and these were much better, the nan was soft but the tandoori roti was thick and heavy, but the manager kindly had them redone for me. I think that my silence was saying a lot about the restaurant and on my trip to the bathroom someone in the group let it slip that I was a reviewer for TripAdvisor. A shame for me as I don’t like being singled out for treatment. A note of advice, the restaurant does not have a bathroom on the ground floor for those of who cannot do stairs, so my visit up the stairs was both painful and difficult. So going back to the mains both the Prawn Jalfrezi and the prawns in garlic were delicious. The daal was slightly gloopy and thick could have been a touch thinner. Due to our experience we decided to pass on desert, but the manager kindly arranged a lemon sorbet taster for each of us as a compliment. I think in all fairness to the manager he tried his hardest to turn our experience around, but that should not have been needed and I felt this was done because of my review. I told the owner my review was going to be honest and I hope it is. So to summarise this visit, don’t demand that customers order starters and mains together, as people cannot judge what and how much will be eaten when just sat down. The meat starters should not be over cooked but left soft and tender. The mains were nice and enjoyable, please deliver great customer service and don’t stand over your guests. A bathroom on the ground floor would be great. I hope this review will be a positive learning experience and hope to see a much better and genuine level of customer service on our next visit.

This is our first trip back since the renovation , I think the new decor gives the restaurant a more upmarket feel. We skipped starters as we went for mains and sides with rice and naan, this turned out to be the right choice there was plenty of food. We had poppadoms to start and these were really fresh. They have Cobra on tap which is nice. When the food came we were all in agreement this was our new favourite Indian. You could taste the herbs and spices in the dishes which was refreshingly different from the usual style. One of the friends we were with is vegan and the menu has a vegan version of almost every dish including onion Bhaji and naan. They have some nice touches like the expanding hand towels, much nicer than the plastic bags you seem to get these days. Highly recommend this place.

Between the party we had to give 5 stars. To start i must say the new decor is lovely but i used to love the old school cosiness and flock wallpaper. The service was friendly and very helpful and there was a lovely touch of a few free extras . Presentation was great too but the old school heating plates used to be there for a reason and though the poppadoms were free the chutneys were too small for the group and again old school lime pickle or similar is missing. As far as the main courses were concerned potions were smaller than many curry places but perfectly adequate. My only moans were the paratha which was a little heavy and greasy (try Kappads ) and my LambJalfrezi was nice but the Lamb and the sauce was pretty bland . Having said all that we had a lovely evening the meal and all the extras with such good service was excellent value, so i am adding my free extra star

Manager Ali has recently returned to this establishment, and changes are afoot. Gone are the harsh white lights installed by the previous regime (energy saving they may have been but they did nothing for the ambience). So an improvement there for sure. As welcoming as ever, Ali explained that they have decided to abandon alcohol sales in favour of a bring-your-own system, even though they do apparently have a license. My companion and I are not convinced this is merited - offering bottled alcohol (and soft drinks of course) for sale AND enabling punters to bring-their-own is the way to go, surely? Now the food: Well, it was superb, and fully justifies Ali's claim that they are concentrating on it. Faultless in our view.Returning to the decor, apart from the aforementioned lighting improvement the rest of the decor remains unchanged and is far from modern taste, but really we couldn't care less, it has a sort of nostalgic charm about it. We even love the fake palm tree! They are trying hard here and deserve to succeed. If food is paramount, go and try it - in our experience you won't be disappointed.

A warm welcome from the owner was appreciated, but his instantaneous warning of serving no alcohol was surprising! As one who has frequented here on and off for over 30 years, I was taken aback. Always having enjoyed excellent food, at very competitive prices, but often with poor service I wondered what awaited me under this new regime, even though it was the original old team!!.As a teetotaller the lack of alcohol was not a problem, but this should have been offset by a wide range of attractive non alcoholic drinks, it was not. They had neither ginger beer, nor j2O, nor orangina etc etc., but did promise an exciting range of mocktails would be available in due course. Most importantly though, the food was absolutely first class with the lightest fluffy pilau rice and tenderest lamb I have had for years. This was explained as their master plan, namely to provide the best quality of food possible, which would win the customers over, and still to stay competitive. They realise the decor is very out of date, and intend modernising and making it "really a special experience".In the meantime though, I will continue to eat there when on my own, but many of my friends who are most definitely not alcoholics, do think a meal without a nice glass of wine is not a meal. To have to go to a nearby liquor store is just totally unprofessional and off putting. Moreover, if one wanted say just one, or maybe two glasses of wine a whole bottle needed to be purchased. They stressed that this was a marketing decision and most definitely not because they had lost their licence. One couple turned round and went elsewhere because of no alcohol whilst I dined and I am sure many more will.

No way am I going to pop to an off-licence like some vagrant getting a 4-6 pack of Tennant's Extra strong. We were then shown to a window table, as were the next to arrive, a usual trick giving passes by the impression that the restaurant is full when in fact in not even half full. we ordered either coke or water and settled at the window table illuminated by incredibly powerful halogen lamps, presumably to make sure passer by's could see us. The table was only set for two, and further place settings didn't promptly arrive so when the starters arrived we raided a nearby table for a knife, fork and spoon. The popadoms were good, and the main ok, the poor service was interrupted by the smoke/fire alarm sounding with the staff seemingly unable to cancel or mute it. The garlic nan was not really a garlic naan but more like a normal naan, judging by the scarcity of garlic one can only assume garlic is an expensive ingredient. All in all the food was ok, the service 2nd rate, no alcohol unacceptable and lastly the building and decor is looking run-down and a but grubby. I hope they can turn this restaurant around and back to its former glory and return to serving alcohol. I won't be returning any time soon as there are many other restaurants in the area.

Needed meal for myself, Saturday night, 9pm, and tried for table for one at Bombay Palace which was unable to provide. Decided to try here and glad I did. Yes the decor is a time warp but ordered a Phal and when told they dont sell alcohol, asked for a pint of milk with dinner. They were happy to oblige and Mr Ali enquired if I would like Naga peppers added to dish. Oh yes please. Excellent Phall with flavour and heat. A difficult balance for some places to achieve. Apparently now under new management for last 10 days so concentrating on the food as a priority, decor later. Great food, great service.

We were warmly greeted at the door by Ali - the owner - personally and immediately. We were made to feel really welcome and the service was great throughout. One of the major things that stood out for us, was the chargrilled flavour of the chicken - you simply do not get this in many curry houses. The food was fantastic on the whole and I will certainly be returning very soon.

My husband and I have been visiting the Curry Centre for years and the food never disappoints. For our latest visit we took our daughter and her boyfriend and once again a great meal was enjoyed by all. The portions are a good size allowing you to share if you want to try several dishes all tasty and freshly cooked. The level of spice and seasoning is always just right never overpowering. Another great curry night.

The curry was ok , but not as good as I've had from there before , the restaurant is quite outdated and could do with a refurb.. Wasn't happy with the service , the waiter had no people skills or manners, come across rude ..after having drinks and a look at menu I was asked if we was ready to order I said yes, the waiter then walked off and sat at the bar talking to another member of staff a good 10mins before returning to take our order .. Atmosphere was terrible.. And then tries overcharging us at the end.Quite disappointed

Stooped by for dinner on a quiet Wednesday. Excellent attentive service with humour. Freshly cooked and spiced as expected curries with better than average starters. The restaurant has a dated charm that may not be to all tastes but I loved it.

Have you ever found yourself feeling nostalgic about the late 70's and early 80's - don't worry this place is a time machine that will transport you back there :-)Joking aside - Service was good - but food was standard fare, nothing imaginative. The restaurant and the menu are both in need of some serious modernisation.

I have been to the curry centre several times and every time they have provided excellent curry. I had chicken rogan josh and peshwari naan. The waiters are friendly and it is a relaxed atmosphere. I like the wooden trolley they roll around to serve with. Best curry in Wycombe.

We've been going to the Curry Centre regularly for over a year. The food is fantastic and you can always guarantee the same high standard each time you go. We also find the staff very friendly and often have a good chat. However, the restaurant is looking a little tired and we can't help but feel that it loses some business because of how people might perceive it from the outside. That is a big shame.Give Curry Centre a try, despite the slightly tired look, and I'm sure you'll have a great meal!

This restaurant used to be my regular Curry haunt many years ago and I have revisited it a couple of times recently. The food is good, and I thoroughly enjoy it but it is not necessarily the best I have eaten. It is the Restaurant and staff that makes me want to return. When you walk in the restaurant it is like going back to the 80's... The staff are very friendly without being overbearing and there are a number of customers that are on first name terms, always a good sign.Overall the restaurant is a good Curry house and worth a visit.

We went there on a Thursday night, the restaurant wasn't very busy, we sat next to the window. Service was good , he took time explained what they had and what good for the children. The restaurant owner passed by and checked with us how's the food and such. Food was excellent , freshly made . We were very happy about the dinner , definitely will come back again.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and had the best masala dosa I’ve ever had. The owner was friendly and chatty and the first was perfect. I got some chutney to take home because it was so good. Wish I lived closer - I’d be in all the time.

Horrendous!!! Such a shame. Ordered from their ‘fusion kitchen menu’ a chicken burger ‘the Nashville chick’ The chips were missing - shared my husbands instead The slaw was missing The lettuce was questionable They wouldn’t rectify the situation or give us money back Such a shame as our friends had such a good experience I won’t be ordering from here again
