Elaichi Indian Restaurant in Wycombe

4 of us enjoyed good food and excellent service eating in at the Elaichi last night. I’ve eaten here frequently and never been disappointed

Took a chance, most take aways slammed on New Year's Eve, but still very quick service and still outstanding food well done.

Had a delivery on Saturday night, one hour after eating it I started vomiting. Continuing all night and in bed for 2 days. Real shame as have enjoyed a meal from here before, but has now put me off ordering again.

Went to the Elaichi for a meal last night with family and had a great meal! I had the mixed kebab to start and lamb Jalfreizi for main. Best curry I’ve had in ages. Good service and very reasonable prices. Will definitely go again

Good food, Good service. I went to Elachai last night with friends and had a lovely meal. There were the favourites on the menu along with a few others I hadn't seen before. When the food arrived it was tasty and really good quality meat. Everything was excellent.

Visited with a friend. Starters were ok, can’t go wrong with frozen samosas. I ordered chicken korai and mushroom rice. Rice was quite greasy, curry was completely tasteless. Sent most it back, the waiter apologised and said he’d pass it on to the kitchen but it was supposed to be medium spice, I told him it’s what I normally have. There wasn’t just no heat to it, I couldn’t taste any spices. Whilst he was polite about it at the time, didn’t approach us again. We asked for the bill 3 times, eventually had to go to the counter to pay. Really not good

Bad attitude. Waiter tipped drink on me then blamed me. Food average. Service bad. 7.30pm table. Starter received 10pm

I have not been here for many years, only up the road so thought we would try. Very quiet, only 3 table occupied, maybe due Covid! Service was good, food was pretty good. They have added new dishes, I had the Chicken Naga which was pretty good. Food was enjoyable but not amazing.

Take Away Review: arrived 45 mins late, unfortunately food was cold and unappetizing. The King Prawn Palak priced at £10.95 had all of 3 prawns and a ton of spinach, very disappointing. Chicken Tikka main 5 good sized chunks of cold chicken and a very poor standard Jalfrezi overall extremely disappointing £40 take away! So annoyed at wasting my money we were looking so forward to this meal!

Re visited after a while, and it is OK, nothing special though. Food was quite good, my particular dish stated madras hot but there was no heat whatsoever. We all ate it though so can't complain. Staff not as attentive as they should be and really miserable looking, shame. Rasonably priced. Will visit again if I am in the area.

I would like to say first of all i have used the elaichi for my takeaway for years but unfortunately the last time which was February 14th it was very poor the food wasn’t up to the normal standards the service was also very slow we were told it would be 35min but turned out to be 60min also the phones were just left ringing just like they couldn’t cope with a busy evening on February the 14th extra staff you would have thought also there was no apology must admit not the normal faces on duty that night not sure I’ll be back

We chose an early visit at 5.30 pm on a Sunday so we were the only people in the restaurant for the first half an hour. The food was lovely to eat and we both enjoyed our meals and service. We were able to park right outside.

I've been here several times when visiting friends nearby. Love the food 10 out of 10. On the website it says Sunday offer of £9.95 available. On arrival we mentioned this and was told the offer did not exist. When I showed the waiter the website he said Sorry but it was out of date and finished 2 months ago. Today it is still on the website? As I said we loved the food but don't cause potential embarrassing situations by lack of attention. Next time I will check when I book a reservation. FYI our waiter was certainly miffed at being caught out but it won't stop me returning.

We booked our table for 21 on Saturday evening. We had a fantastic evening!The food and service was amazing!Everything arrived as expected,the children’s requests were catered for as well. Well done Elaichi would recommend.

I would give this restaurant 0 if it was possible.... we had the butter chicken which was disgusting; totally inedible ... the sauce was very sweet and the chicken tasted odd.... and of plastic.... the lamb dishes were edible but uninspired...We will not be using this place again.... AVOID....

Partner and I decided to return to Elachi (last time 10yrs ago) as we usually head into Wycombe centre for our curry fix. Nice welcome and seated (only two other tables occupied at time of our arrival). Handed menus but no wine menu - ordered poppadoms (on the menu it states poppadoms and chutney priced separately so I ordered poppadoms and chutney) The poppadoms were great and arrived with the obligatory chopped onion/tomato, yoghurt and mango chutney and they also brought a chutney in a separate bowl which I can describe as a raspberry coulis with Thai flavours and was actually very nice indeed. I had to ask for a wine menu which was brought to us very quickly. We started with mixed kebab - large onion bhajee one small piece of chicken and small seekh kebab - quite nice and tandoori king prawn - nice but a little bland.. We then ordered a lamb bhuna (partner asked waiter what was in it the reply was "mild very good" again asked what was in it reply again "mild" still we chose it and the chicken naga. Chicken was very tender and sauce hot which was expected very good indeed. The lamb was as tough as old boots literally an effort to saw into it - the accompanying bhuna sauce was great but sadly the meat let it down. We had bindi bhajee - good, tarkha dal - ok but watery and pilau rice - good, the keema nan was very good. All in all the meal was ok but partner and I will head into Wycombe centre in future.

We had meat samosas to start which were just about OK but not well filled and certainly not spicy; the mint sauce was extremely bland...The butter chicken was also bland but the lamb dish was a bit better. We haven’t ordered from Elaichi for a while and probably won’t be doing again.... sadly our experience didn’t reflect the previous reviews...

Went early evening and easily got a walk in table on a Saturday. Food tasted really fresh and not at all greasy. Attentive staff. Decor could be updated, as it looks more like a Greek restaurant, but not dated or tired

Its been a while since my last review after a disappointing experience and am so so pleased to have been blown away by the food and the service on our recent visit. We will definitely be visiting more regularly - which is great because this restaurant is within walking distance. But even if you're just visiting High Wycombe - this is definitely worth a visit.

Popped in here as was staying at the nearby Holiday Inn, it was a fairly quiet early Monday evening. Service was good, ambiance and decor a little odd, nice mellow Indian music playing in the background. Extensive menu, and draught Kingfisher beer on offer.

Stopped in the Holiday Inn round the corner for an event we were running so stopped off for a curry. Good food but nothing special. Service was great but the staff seemed quite miserable. Other than that it was reasonably priced.

First lets eat delivery from this restaurant, seem to have returned to form with a really decent curry

We stayed local and wanted somewhere to eat, after being told by the bar stall at the squirrel pub they do not do food on a Monday (shame as it seemed really nice) they sent us here. The food was good as was the service and the prices but as soon as we had eaten (about 9.30 pm) they seemed to want us gone even though they were not busy.

Been to the Elachi previously and enjoyed the food there. Decided to order a takeaway on a Saturday night, we were told it would take 45 minutes. 2 and a half hours later, we finally received our food! Terrible service! We called a few times and were told it was on its way, we only live 2 miles from the restaurant (yes, we probably should have picked it up!) If you know you’re having problems, just be honest to your customers, it’s a much better way of keeping their business.

Just left the Elaticihi after having a great Christmas dinner with family and friends. Not the usual meal on the 25th Dec but it was so good none the less. Set menu but catered for everyone tastes and there was so much of it some took a doggy bag home. Would definitely recommend any time of the year to be honest. Thanks to all the staff for being attentive and see you in the new year.

I’ve enjoyed many many take away meals from here but to actually eat in ramps things up to another level. Delicious food and attentive staff, winning combination

I have eaten here a few times in the past months of 2018 but it hasn't been somewhere that drags me back because of the quality or taste of the food - locality is convenient.

We were driving down the from the restaurant and decided to pop in and I haven't had bad experience in a restaurant than this. People say don't leave negative reviews but couldn't help. The hygiene of the staff was really bad as the staff was touching onion bhaji's with their hands and using the same hands to pour the beer and other stuff. Apologies but this is not acceptable and when I asked them to change my Onion bhajjis they refused and staff was very rude. I am sorry to say even the owner wasn't helpful as he was watching what was happening. I don't think I will be using this restaurant again and please guys keep an eye out on their staff and their hands....

Having tried several Take Aways in this area I was beginning to loose the will for good honest authentic food. I was staying in a nearby B&B; whilst working in the area and having tried the 'norm' Fish and Chip, Chinese etc I found Elaichi !

This is the first time that we have used this restaurant and ordered with Just Eat... the food arrived 10 minutes early and was hot and nicely packed.

Popped out for a quick bite to eat and came across this restaurant and really glad we did. Great food, good service, nice and quick. Worth stopping by for the murals.

Warm welcome when you arrive. Plenty of seating and tables not too close together. Nice decor, music in background just right not too loud. Food good at a reasonable price.

Often order curry from here for a very consistent, good quality meal every-time. Delicious Chicken tikka massala....avoid the onion Bhaji as very oily but thats probably the travel time.......all the rest always been good.......recommend

Ended a visit to family with a meal here, tonight. Very clean, good service and the food was good. Reasonably priced. Would visit again

we had takeaway still the best curry in cressex but be sure to lock your car when you leave to eat in or takeaway

I wanted to try something different and went for a 'speciality' duck dish, and I found it very disappointing. The pilau rice was not great either. No complaints about the service which was friendly and helpful. Maybe I just chose the wrong dish?

The reviews here are mixed but I had an excellent experience, I had Bengali Mussels, Chicken Chat and Balti Chicken all of which was really high quality (I am quite fussy with my Indian restaurants too).. the staff were also super nice. I came back a couple times for takeaway and they added complimentary drinks while I waited

This restaurant has to be one of the worst restaurants we have ever visited. Their food was out of this world, like something you might find used as an inedible props on star trek. This establish only serves halal chicken and claims their supplier only...

Would not recommend this place food overcooked ..and over priced when complained nothing was done so just paid and left ...would never eat here again if was offered free...

This is a fairly average lndian restaurant.....average food, average service, average prices.....just average.

I found this gem on TripAdvisor and it was FANTASTIC the staff are highly professional and friendly. The lamb was so tender it didn't need chewing it was superb Gosht Kata Massala was as the waiter said, It tastes better than it looks and it looked superbI will visit here again if in the area!

Great menu, easy telephone ordering and ready on time but the food lacked flavour and was watery, such a shame.

We live across the road from the Elaichi and the manager and staff are always very welcoming. Our latest visit was for a friend's birthday and it was a great occasion - delicious food as always

First time trying this Indian and I appreciate that a takeaway is never as good as eating in, however this takeaway was probably the hottest I have ever received which is probably the most important thing in a takeaway. The food itself was of a really good quality with some great flavours and spices, I tried something new a lamb dish which was really good spicy with out losing the flavour.Maybe I'm being harsh given it a four but if it's as good next time il give it 5 stars based on consistency. Plus forgot my mango chutney

Have used this restaurant many times over the last couple of years because the food and service are excellent. A little bit more expensive than others but well worth the extra.Highly recommended.

Visited here after a trip to the local Vue . Food is always great and the service is friendly . Near to M40 is a bonus

I used to work in the area, years ago, and remember when this restaurant originally opened up. it replaced a favoured Bakery and Cafe, where we used to get delicious breakfast rolls from ! Apparently this was over 21 years ago.. so now I am showing my age !I was in the area, with my wife and daughter, and decided to pop in for old time's sake.We were so glad we did ! It still had the same original, and rather peculiar, 'Michelangelo' type Roman murals on the wall ! So out-of-place, but strangely agreeable ?The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The Chef created a special Lamb dish, off-the-menu, as I fancied a change from my normal Karahi Lamb. It was absolutely delicious. I also have to mention the Potato, and the Okra side dishes... they were so good, my wife and daughter ordered another helping to take home ! I am out of touch with the Wycombe area nowadays, but if there is a better Indian restaurant nearby... then it would have to be a damn good one to surpass this place ?

The food was great and service generally good . However the wait for service after the main meal is taken away is far too long a wait and when I got the bill I was left waiting as I was on my last visit months ago and just had to pay at front counter again! The restaurant was not full but less waiting staff then years gone by. I'm inclined to just use for takeaway in future.

U won't find a better curry house in Buckinghamshire... FACT! Prawn Purée & lamb patties for starters followed by Lamb gosht tikka masala & Chicken Achar main course... Trust me on the above... Bloomin lovely grub, never go anywhere else these days... Pointless cuz just can't be topped... Lovely owner too, always present & genuinely lovely boys on staff.. Try it if ur nearby, you WILL return!

We went back to High Wycombe after a few years away and had to have Indian from Elaichi. The food is so tasty, so well seasoned, so lovely and fresh, just love it! My husband never tried their food before and he was very impressed too! Definitely the best Indian food in town! Keep up the great work, we will be back!

We were in town for the night and were recommended to this restaurant by our B&B host. We were not disappointed. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food very good and very reasonably priced. We would certainly be happy to return here whenever we are again in the area

We enjoyed a very nice dinner here- the menu was very varied and catered for most palettes- prominently marked with ingredients and spices/ heat. The staff were very courteous and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Only used for take away - very good food and good service. Little on the costly side but quality of food is exceptional.

We enjoyed an impromptu anniversary meal here on the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed. The fact that they've been established for about 17 years speaks volumes in itself. We arrived around 9pm on a Monday night and there were only 2 other people in, but I'd expect that on a Monday at that time, especially in the summer. The waiters were welcoming and friendly and we didn't have to wait long to be served our main meal, which was very tasty. The prices are reasonable and we would definitely go again.

5 family members enjoyed a very reasonable curry evening. Although the more traditional popular choices seemed absent from the menu, what we ordered was very tasty. And the draft lager was very good. Tables nicely layed out and staff were ok but not over attentive, some people don't like too much attention i guess. Worth a visit on the whole.

My lamb rogan josh was tasty. My friend complained that her lamb tikka masala was too sweet. I thought the meal was good value.

travelled out of Marlow for my takeaway tonight and found a little gem fresh tasty and good value we shall return

We previously lived in High Wycombe and this was our local Indian - we were never disappointed with the food and the service was always highly attentive. Also good for takeaways.

Only one other table occupied, albeit at 10pm at night, but it was a Saturday so bit surprised as we had very good food along with friendly, efficient service. Will definitely return when in or near High Wycombe. Lovely Bangladeshi staff. Only slight negative was the room temperature - we never took our coats off!

Visited early on a Friday night. Waited almost an hour for our food. The prawn and chicken tikkas were tiny portions that we had to order more. My friend ordered another mixed grill from a waiter and was told "ok sir". 10 seconds later, what seems to be the manger (wearing a poorly fitted suit) storms in and speaks harshly..."ITS GONNA TAKE 15-20MINS...OK?!" We couldn't wait that long so he said the chicken/prawn tikkas were faster. You could tell he was getting agitated and annoyed when asked how many prawns are in the tikka and he strangly couldn't give us a straight answer. We got there in the end and he stormed off. Rough! They don't add service charge so we didn't pay a penny towards it. Final conclusion: The tikkas were dry and almost tasteless and the rest of the food was just ok looked after by an arrogant and about to fall of the edge manager. Needless to say we won't be going back. Shame as we visit high Wycombe every week and need a good place to regularly goto.

We have visited this restaurant many times and had take aways Mosterton weeks for years. There food is always firsts class with first class service.

Its been a year since I was cajoled to have a meal here. Forced to have a quality, tasty meal with friendly staff who are prepared to give advice. But someone has to do it I suppose.I do have a major criticism you still have not opened a restaurant in Norwich. Get your act together boys.

Had a lovely take away last Friday, was concerned at the negative feedback re take away service, so we decided to collect. Everything was beautifully cooked, the onion bhajis are the best ever and the side dishes very tasty indeed. Good value...my favourite is the lamb shashlak. This curry house is a great find. T

I have been in Elatchi few times with my boyfriend. Always very proffesional service. Very elegant. Food tastes really nice. Always fantastic atmosphere. Would reccomend deffinitelly.

We usually order a takeaway from this company every Friday yet the past 4 Friday's our order has taken 2 hours to arrive, with half of it leaking out the bag and forget the mango chutney every single time!!!! Never again!! Taking our business elsewhere!! Too many times lost hope in this company!!! Shame as the food was ok

Stuck on a car park by the Cressex roundabout, this isn't the most obviously great restaurant in town. However, the impression changes as soon as you get inside.For a start, it's much larger than it seems, the decor is pretty good (there is a really impressive water feature) and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, it is the food that really sets this place apart; it is excellent; full of flavour and without that greasy residue that you find in too many curry restaurants. The best thing I can say about it is that we keep going back.

I have lived so close to this restaurant most my life but as I thought it was strangely situated I have never actually been in!So me and my partner thought we would check it out and were really taken back!It looks really good inside and the service was very 'fine dining' with them sitting us down straight away, putting our napkins on our laps and pouring our drinks.The food was sublime as well and I'm not a regular at eating Indian food yet it was honestly delicious.Highly recommend a visit don't be put off by location it's really a great place to escape and enjoy a meal.

In High Wycombe there are many good curry restaurants, but the Elaichi is consistently the best in my view. Excellent food and good service.

We had dinner at this Bangladeshi restaurant on a Saturday evening, surprisingly quiet, probably due to the England v Wales rugby on TV. The menu is extensive, interesting and reasonably priced; each of the dishes we chose was freshly cooked and richly spiced, but not excessively "hot". Service was efficient and attentive. We particularly welcome the ban on use of mobile phones in the restaurant!

We have been to this restaurant a number of times,and have never been disappointed. Food is always cooked to perfection and if there is a particular dish you want that is not on the menu,they will always try and supply your choice. Really lovely staff.

I have been visiting the Elaichi for years both eating in and takeouts. Having tried other Indians before I will always choose this one over any other!! The food is always consistently good! the portions are very generous (some Indians the rice sizes are tiny which aren't great if you want to share) and the staff are always great. As I have been eating there for so many years the staff always remember me and what I like, last time I went they had a few staff changes and the service was still just as high!

We have tried lots of Indian restaurants in highwycombe but always come back to the elaichi the food is always good and the service , the flavours are wonderful I've tried most of the menu over the years I've been using it for lots of years if you haven't tried it please try.

We have only been once. We normally use the Elachi in Grove but were in High Wycombe. The food was extremely good.

I have been eating in and taking away from the Elaichi for around 15 years and I have never been disappointed. Great food, friendly service and yes, you sometimes have to wait in excess of an hour for delivery on a Saturday night, but that is only because the food is so good!

Nice atmosphere. Table by the window. Food was excellent. Service good. Had the chicken tiki masala, curry lamb and spinach, mushroom rice as per waiters recommendations (would have preferred the white rice), garlic naan. Chicken was tender, sauce thick, delicious flavor. Lamb was tender, melt in your mouth delicious. Naan was soft and flavorful.Overall great experience. White tablecloths were a nice touch.

Tucked away on a corner but staff were very welcoming even though we were very casually dressed. They were attentive and the meals although not large were filling. Very well presented and reasonably priced. The peshawar?? naan was delicious and a new experience.

My family and I have visited many Indian restaurants within a 25 mile radius and keep coming back to Elaichi. My kids (19 & 22) won't let us go anywhere else for a curry!

This is now a generic curry house , the staff are friendly enough but service is slow and not attentive at all.. Sitting ages between courses and when I finally got to ask for the bill (the second time) it was a full half an hour wait before I had to just get up and pay at the bar.As for the food , nothing special but the korma was so shockingly sweet that your teeth were likely to have fallen out before the waiting staff next arrived.

Our two adult children, my husband and I went to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were impressed by the attentive service which was efficient without being overbearing. There were nice touches like hot towels at the end of the meal and clean tablecloths, changed mid-meal. The food was very well cooked and tasty. I would say that the food is on the slightly mild side compared to the same dish in other restaurants but I notice that the menu says that the curries can be made hotter on request. We would go again

My friends recommended this indian as they live really close and have had nice meals there before. I was really excited and the variety of the menu made me very optimistic. We arrived around 7:30 yesterday evening and received great service. I chose one of the chef specials Gosht Kata Massala which I was thoroughly impressed with, both in terms of the presentation and taste. I ordered this with a peshwari naan which although it came much later than all the other food was still of a very high standard. Sadly my whole experience was tainted by the fact I woke up at 4am needing to throw up. I think proceeded to spend the rest of the night hugging the toilet and being very ill. I have felt awful all day and had to cancel several things as I felt constantly sick. Despite having a nice evening whilst at the restaurant sadly i doubt ill be returning anytime soon as I cant miss any more days at work!

We live literally five minutes down the road from the restaurant and for the delivery of our order to take over half an hour more than we were told is absolutely disgusting. Waiting nearly two hours for a delivery placed at six thirty on a Saturday is quite frankly disgusting. The staff were not particularly helpful either and I was informed that it had already left for delivery. I've been using them for awhile and it is very rare that they actually deliver within the timescale they state.

A cut above your average Indian Restaurant. Many different dishes to try. Their red sauce that accompanies the starters is very tasty. The staff are very accommodating and welcoming.

We went during the week and there was several people on there which is always a goid sign.menu was different new things to try also very tasty foid.so much flavor.did not want to stop eating cant wait to go back.

I have been 2 elaichi restaurant with my family 22nd of December,selection of mix starter was excellent.overall the food was excellent & the service was very good.i do recommend to try the mix starter when u go 2 elaichi restaurant.

Parking is difficult which is a pity because the atmosphere is very nice. We were disappointed with the small size of the rice dish. The service was not all that friendly and was not up to the normal standard we expect. We do not inrtend to return. There are far better Indian restaurants in High Wycombe than this one.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn nearby and this restaurant was recommended by a couple who live locally. The meal was excellent. We ate at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening and so the restaurant was not busy. We noticed that as the take-away side of the business got more and more busy the staff were a little less attentive to us in the restaurant, however would recommend this restaurant overall.

The service at the Elaichi is great, they are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The food was great and plenty of it. No hesitation if going back there.

A couple of months back I would have sung this places praises again.. But last night the jalfrezi was lacking in meat and filled as all poor chinese and curry houses do with too many onions and peppers/chilli.. Please note.. Nobody is fooled by this, people will find a better place, and nowadays reviews are key.. Service was good but food is key and at 40 quid for me and my daughter it works out one of the more expensive places I can take her so would like quality.. And please change those lemon freshness that now have a strange bleach smell that now reminds me of a bathroom cleaner. Small complaints but I expect better.

We were in Wycombe for the football and chanced upon Elaichi looking for a pre-match meal. Not expecting much due to its location we found ourselves pleasantly surprised; quick and friendly service (though was a quiet Tuesday night); very good food (I had the Murgh Lemon and would highly recommend and the three jalfrazies consumed were praised all round). Tastefully decorated as curry houses go and had a nice atmosphere. If I ever happen to be in Wycombe again I may very well make a trip back!

Had a family night out here yesterday and it was excellent value for money.staff were friendly. Would recommend it.

The restaurant has an ok decor, the food was very bland. The service was poor, the waiter who served us was rude and judged us for ordering smaller portions. Would not go there again.
