Appears to have closed for a period. New signage, name and fascia are now in place but not sure what it is going to reopen as or whether the same people still involved.

Great food with plenty of choice on menu. Friendly service. Reasonable pricing. Nice atmosphere and focus was definitely given to in house diners. Recently, we’ve been to other restaurants where constant deliveries have been more of a focus for staff.

As a reasonably regular diner here I can absolutely recommend it. The high quality of the food and service is excellent. This evening I have had the Lamb Shank, which is currently off menu, but is perhaps one of the nicest I have had here (just ask Ahmed for it). Really, really nice. Also, I commend the garlic nan which is very light and fluffy. Not stodgy. Anyhow, enjoy.

What an excellent dining experience! We were a small party of four adults, two ordering starters and mains, two just mains. All of us ordered rice and naan breads. Not a single complaint or improvement. The food was generous in portion size, flavourful and cooked to perfection. The attention to detail showed as even the plain rice tasted excellent, fresh and just delicious. We all tried each others mains and we were all impressed by the depth and range of flavour. The naans were impeccable and obviously freshly made. Service stood out as excellent, with pleasant and humorous attentive service for the duration of our dining experience, and we did hang about for quite some time (sorry guys). A thoroughly impressive performance from start to finish from a beautifully appointed and very well run establishment. We will be back!

Never been here before. Food was bland and chicken tough (madras). So basic and not enough spices. Could make a better curry myself with supermarket chicken and a tin of sauce.

Amazing little find. Very quiet even on a Friday evening probably because it is out of central Godalming. A shame because the food was superb. From the relishes for the poppadoms to the main dishes. Each distinctively different in their own way. Could not fault anything really. Will be returning.

We stopped in last minute with friends mid week as our booking for another restaurant was cancelled. We were warming welcomed and the staff were very friendly and polite. The food was great and we couldn’t fault it, even the kids loved it. It was a nice change as we live in West Sussex. The only thing we would suggest is the decor being updated but overall a lovely place and great value for money. Thank you

Exquisite food served from a lovely and in places divergent menu. We ate here for the first time this week and I am sure it will not be the last visit we make. Easy and free to park on the road outside (after 6.30pm). The staff were fantastic and my wife commented how immaculate their dress and demeanour was. Not cheap but well worth it !

Ordered a delivery, rang when it was half an hour late and was told it had left and would be ten minutes. An hour later rang again, “sorry mix up, ten minutes” forty five minutes later, over two and a half hours after ordering and it still hadn’t left. Cancelled, now I just hope I’ll get a refund.

There is simply nothing to praise about this place, the staff or the food. Avoid. Having served bottles of beer it took over an hour to get any attention and another hour before food was delivered to the table. The rushed and slightly grumpy owner of the place was assisted by a scruffy looking person in a basball hat; a person with a “not my place mate, I’m only helping out” uninterested attitude.

We decided on Friday 24 Jan 25 that as the winds and rain had kept us home we would order up a takeaway to be delivered by The Darjeeling Restaurant in Farnham. We phoned at 17:00 although I believe the kitchen does not open until later and placed our order. The service was excellent and we paid by card over the phone at the same time. We were told the order would be with us by 18:20 which was fine. Almost dead on time our piping hot order arrived. On this occasion we had quite a simple order with 2x Chicken Jalfrezi dishes, 1x Pilau Rice, 1x Bombay Aloo and 1x dish of four Onion Bhaji. Our total bill came to just over £35 which is excellent value. The quality of the food was simply superb and we both really enjoyed the meal. We feel it is certainly worth giving The Darjeeling a go if you have never tried it before. We really cannot fault it and regularly have a home delivery as the quality on offer is easy to appreciate. Thank you again for an excellent meal.

TAKEAWAY Hard, dry onion bhaji. Poppadoms tasted as if they were cooked in old oil. Overly sweet massala. Dhal overcooked. Bombay potatoes bland. Chicken cooked well tho’!
