Authentic and flavoursome curries, along with impeccable service from Foyez. It's a great all-around curry restaurant.

Great food but very slow service. After waiting an hour between starters and mains we asked our waiter how long before we will get our food? He told us to be patient. A table by us who arrived after us were happy enjoying their mains. Eventually it arrived and was really enjoyable. Disappointed in the service we received tonight.

We have been going to the Curry Inn for many years and a review is long overdue, the food is always consistently good and we have never had a poor meal and the service is superb . We opened an Airbnb 2 years and always recommend the Curry Inn to our guests and always get glowing reports back when they eat there . The decor is lovely as are all the staff and we should know, we must have eaten there over a 100 times over the years . We highly recommend the Curry Inn

Until yesterday it had been at least 3 years (thanks to Covid and other obstacles) that I had had a curry sitting in a restaurant. But this week I broke my "fast" and found Curry Inn. It's a comprehensive and very varied menu that would satisfy most tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service impeccable. Our meals were ordered and in pretty quick time brought to our table. The food was excellent We will be going back!

We've been to this restaurant many times over the last couple of years but our recent visit was very disappointing. The greeting was poor, service was nonchalant and the food was average at best. half of the chicken in my dish was dry and un-edible and the lentil dish was bland and more of a puree. Not what you expect from an expensive Indian restaurant. It's a shame as we've always enjoyed our meals there before. Will look at alternatives...

Monday night early February. My second visit. Nice welcome. Comfortable ambience and good service. Friendly well trained staff. Slickly dressed Manager in attendance. But the food does not quite do it for me. Excellent garlic bread and poppadoms, good Dahl, interesting lime and ginger rice, disappointing dry tasteless brindi bargi, standard vegetable biryani but unusually need to extra order a wet sauce, poor jungle curry (basically a gravy with some tasteless chicken and prawns - ok it was my choice). Nice cobra 660ml and merlot. Visit the curry inn for a nice time but the Asian food in my opinion is not the best in Cranleigh.

The best curry in Cranleigh!!! The restaurant is modern with a warm and welcoming ambience. The food was absolutely delicious and at such an affordable price. But what made our evening was the warm, welcoming and very personal service. Our waiter, Gino, was so friendly (and helpful) that he made us feel as though we were part of the restaurant family! Thank you so much for making our night so special! We will definitely see you again soon!

Went to this restaurant when it first opened back in 1984 for a few years. Then we moved away. Recently staying nearby again and thrilled to see it was still there, so we booked a table. Beautiful decor, very friendly and warm welcome and the food was delicious! After mentioning that I hadn’t been for over 30 years, they served us a delicious mint and local honey tea in ornate crockery after our meal. Lovely touch 😊😊

Looks lovely and clean and was fully booked when we went on 29th July however the main was disappointing and as curry’s go, overpriced! Check your bill as an automatic service charge is added like many restaurants now. Sadly while the food arrived quickly the actual service was not great. My tikka masala was overly salty, the calamari while good just tasted of calamari the popadoms were delicious but the chutneys are extra and charged at 75p/person!! The chutney dish sizes didn’t change either to reflect the number of people in the party!! All in all was really disappointed and at £130 quid for three people was pricey! I’ve had delicious food and better service in local curry restaurants (SW20) where the staff are friendly and work to a high standard. I advised the waiter we would not be paying the service charge of £13 but he was either deliberately deaf or overworked as we had to ask for the change! We did leave a small tip but not the 10% requested!!

To be avoided. After having had really good meals here both eating in and takeaway the last two takeaways have been inedible. The first time we put it down to a bad day in the kitchen but this time had to review as had to put it straight in the bin. You’d think chicken tikka would be pretty straightforward but it was completely flavourless and the chicken was watery and didn’t smell great. I called to complain and tell them but they weren’t really interested unless we took the food back

OMG! What a waste of time and money. We had booked a table for 6.30pm and we arrived having to squeeze our way through all the people in the queue waiting for takeaways in the doorway. They didn't seem to know we had booked a table and we were squeezed in to a small table that didnt leave any personal space. Having worked hard in the week, I wanted to have a lovely evening with my wife. Our personal space was encroached and that was the start of a really bad evening. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before having to ask someone to serve us drinks (and light the candle on the table). After about 10minutes our drinks arrived. In this time waiting we realised that the menu has NO VEGETARIAN options... I know it's probably not a good place to go if a vegetarian, but the menu has the "V - Vegetarian" printed - but no options for vegetarian. So! after about 30 minutes we got out popadoms. We ordered our main course AFTER having hoovered up the popdoms. Drinks now all gone, and glass's were dry! Tum tee tum! Had to grab a member of staff who all looked overworked and stressed. The mains eventually arrived after (again) having to chase!. Then it arrived - Food was alll mediocre. There was no wow facture to the portion sizes or quality of food.. After 2 hours of a fustrating evening - We had to (again) chase someone to pay our bill... Over 2 hours for a meal! .Terrible/not existent customer service.. Not going back there

We only visited to pick up our takeaway but felt our curries were so superb I needed to write a review. As a family we have had many curries on our travels & homes through the uk and this is without question the most delicious we have had - onion piazi; lamb bhuna; chicken xacutti; murph malabar; Bhindi , saag & mushroom Bhajis; lemon pulao; chapati, garlic naan.Often one curry dish can taste similar to the next but I can honestly say each of our dishes were exquisite and with every flavour delicately different to the next. For a change we have not been left with that salty thirsty aftertaste , not bloating. The curries tasted freshly homemade, rather than bulk production. My son collected our food and reported back that the restaurant looked very lovely so we must visit next time and not take out.Thank you Curry Inn for making our taste buds and tummies incredibly very happy!

We had a selection of dishes off the extensive menu, they were all good but nothing to my mind was outstanding and most probably fairly priced for the surroundings even if a little more expensive than some other Indian restaurants! We really wanted a nice Friday night meal out and so we picked this restaurant and booked a table on line. We arrived bang on time almost to the second as per our booking. The greeting we got was REALLY poor , the table obviously wasn’t ready but instead of just apologising to us they tried to make us feel like we were in the way. They told us to sit and wait in the window by the door! When we finally get shown our table the waiter then asks us what we would like to drink. Then the confusion started. I asked for a bottle of kingfisher as I didn’t fancy a draft from the tap. The waiter got confused between the only two beers that they had on offer and thought I wanted a bottle of cobra. So I was trying to explain that I didn’t want a cobra but also didn’t want a draft from the tap so could I have a bottle of kingfisher! It went a bit strange after that. We stupidly ordered a starter which sounded quite nice on a he menu. Baby octopus soup. When it arrived it was rather like bush tucker trial !!! boiled whole octopus swimming in curry powder water ! I tried to eat one of the boiled baby octopus that was floating in the boiling curry powdered water. It was like eating a very hot piece of rubber that seemed to burst when I bit into it! Totally disgusting! Luckily the waiter that cleared the plate was a different waiter and asked us why we hadn’t had any of this awful “soup” I explained to him that i had tried a small amount but it was rather like what I imagined a bush tucker trial off I’m a celebrity get me out of here might have been like! He totally understood and laughed! Then as he walked away with the full uneaten bowl of soup he jokingly asked if the octopus was still alive!!! Damage done I think as the head waiter or manager came over to ask why we didn’t eat the soup! I explained that it was just too revolting, to which he replied that it was one of their most popular dishes!!!! I said I was amazed that anyone would actually have eaten that and looked around and pointed out that no one else had ordered it! Anyway they obviously weren’t happy with us as they made us wait 45 mins for the main course ! Sadly this wasn’t worth the wait , really boring and tasteless which is such a shame as I had not eaten all day in anticipation of what I had hoped was going to be a feast ! really miserable disappointing dinner that should have been a wonderful Friday night out in a local curry house restaurant! ☹️ definitely not going back there again

We decided to have dinner here in October, our first time back since they refurbished it. We shan't darken it's doorstep again for a long time. They really must decide if they are a restaurant or takeaway as the service suffers. It took them over an hour to get our main meal to the table and then the rice was dry, the food over cooked and lacking flavour. Having redecorated it, the noise seems to be such that we weren't able to hear each other.

There have been a number of mixed reviews since the refurbishment and I value each comment based on diners thoughts etc. Mine will be the same. The re vamp looks good - nice to have a change now and again. The service sometimes without a smile and warm greeting is good and attentive. Not so sure about the compulsory service charge ? The food has always been good and I have never had a bad meal at The Curry Inn. The menu looks good and is varied. Wine and beer at reasonable price. The tables are too small and too close together - no privacy to your conversation. Takeaway also of good standard BUT order well in advance Thursday - Saturday as the restaurant is busy. Also wise to book a table. The Curry Inn is worth a visit and in my opinion the best in Cranleigh. There you go.

I have tried very hard on each occasion to get the waiters to smile - it isn't easily accomplished. They do not look as though they enjoy their jobs and sadly have quite a surly attitude. This is a real shame as it puts us off wanting to return. For three of us the bill came to £94 - we had poppadoms and pickles to start, three main courses, two rice dishes, two naan breads, two large beers and two small beers. I thought that this was expensive - 10% service charge is added automatically which is perhaps the reason for the indifferent service. Would I recommend? I'm not sure - the food is really good but the surly waiters do not create a good atmosphere and I'm not sure that I want to put myself through that again.

The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. And the food is stunning, no other word to describe it.

After failing to write down my booking last time I thought I'd give it another shot as for some reason the level of customer service has gone down hill. On this occasion the food was delicious, however our overall dining experience was compromised due to a very rude manager who was incredibly dismissive while not paying any interest in what we wanted to order. Having been going to the Curry Inn for years, I myself was shocked at such service and it ruined the meal for everyone. The staff are normally so lovely! Hopefully next time there will be an improvement.

Visited here with some friends for dinner. There's no doubt that the food here is really good. We have tried other Indian restaurants and they don't come up to quality of The Curry Inn. That said, since the renovation, we have noticed that the prices have increased and I was surprised at (A) the cost of the meal and (B) that they appear to be adding a discretionary tip to bills. The portions are a little light, particularly the rice dishes and the tables are never big enough for the food so it does tend to feel a little cramped at times. If The Curry Inn could just sort the portions out to balance the price increase and not have the tables so crammed together it would be the perfect Indian restaurant.

After ordering a takeaway from this restaurant when friends moved nearby we were very much looking forward to going again for a sit-in meal to celebrate her birthday. We were especially excited about having some of their authentic desserts which we had discussed with the friendly manager on our first visit.Subsequently the food was once again excellent and the service good at our 21:30 booking. We had mains and starters together as it was a late sitting, but one they offered on their website. As the evening progressed the service waned and after they cleared our table we were just left and had to ask a passing waiter for the dessert menu. His attitude was appalling and clearly wanted to go home rather than serve us, he reluctantly brought one menu to our table of four and never returned to take the order.Suddenly the bill arrived and then we were left again - had to go up to pay and refused the service charge addition explaining the surly looks and nonchalant attitude of the last waiter. The Manager who is great did apologise profusely and offered us free dessert or drinks but by then we'd had enough.Would have given 5 stars otherwise for a lovely evening - shame it was spoilt by poor service at the end.

We had a lovely meal here last year but have not been since the refurbishment was completed, so we decided on a spontaneous visit. What a difference! It was a Saturday night but not that busy, but the meal was average at best and took quite a long time to arrive. The prices have increased but the portions are noticeably smaller and not as carefully presented or served piping hot. While we were eating, waiters were repositioning the adjoining tables into a different layout which was rather intrusive and for which they made no acknowledgement or apology. There appear to be more tables but the layout is not great and to gain space they now provide only 1 ladies and 1 gents cloakroom - quite surprising in view of the number of covers which can now be accommodated. When we asked for the bill we noticed service is now automatically added at 10%, described as "discretionary gratuity". Our bill was £49 and £5 was added which we thought was rather cheeky in view of the service and food being less than great, so we paid £50 with a couple of pound coins, handed the dish to the waiter and were on our way out when he walked in front of us and stopped us saying we hadn't covered the bill! We were in the process of explaining when the manager joined the discussion and said we needed to pay the total of £54!! We were astonished, especially because we always tip. The manager became more and more agitated when we told him we were paying what we thought was fair in the circumstances and that discretionary meant the service charge was voluntary. He refused to accept this and blocked our exit, saying we were in the wrong and had to settle the bill in full. All this fuss for £2?? We left and will never recommend or return to The Curry Inn again. Whether the "gratuities" contribute to the cost of the refurbishment I can't say but intimidating guests to make them conform is definitely not the path to success when running a restaurant.

The food and service were excellent as before and the new decor is very pleasant especially if you like impressive rushing water displays. They have followed recent airline developments and tried to put a few too many tables in for comfort which is a pity and the acoustics are awful when the place is full but the general experience outweighs these downsides for me. Parking is easy if you use the Stocklund Square car park as it has a passage through to the high street adjacent to the Curry Inn - from the far end.

Have been to the newly refurbished Curry Inn three times now since it re-opened. Very impressed with the decor, and the food is excellent in terms of the quality, taste and presentation. However, the tables are far too close together, you're practically eating with the people sitting next to you! In addition, the tables themselves are too small and you cannot fit all the dishes on them, making it very awkward and uncomfortable to eat. Yes it is a little on the expensive side compared to your average curry restaurant, but don't mind spending more if it warrants it - quality is more important than quantity! They need to space the tables out more to make for an overall better experience.

Visited recently since the facelift. The food was, as always very good but I notice that the prices have risen, no doubt to pay for the expensive re-fit. It also seemed that the tables are closer together which made other diner's conversations rather intrusive.I may visit again but I also intend to try the other Indian restaurant in Cranleigh and will report on that!

I'm not very good with hot food and so I'm a bit of a wimp but even for me there are loads of dishes to choose from, which is good as a group of friends meet there every month! I'm broke but I never mind spending £25 for a really lovely meal with all the trimmings. The service is excellent too.

Have been using this Indian for about 25 years on and off. Nothing and I mean nothing it too much trouble for these guys. Dinner with my kids. Child portions offered straight away. My eldest order a balti I though might be too strong for her. Our waiter was brilliant and kitchen made it look like mine just mild. Had the miss fortune of forgetting my wallet on leaving picking up a take away. These boys drop it to my home the same night - I had not even realised I had left it! In short great food as ever and it's coupled with even better service. Keep it up

Sadly this place is all style and no substance. Since the revamp the prices have become ridiculous....£10 for a vegetable dhansak that tasted like it had been made with a jar of Patak sauce! The service was offhand and the Manager rude when we asked if the recipe had changed for the curry. I felt truly ripped off when the bill arrived. I honestly could have cried. The onion bhaji were nothing more than ok. You get a tiny amount of rice for an exhorbitant price. There is no service here....just off handedness.Never again would I patronise this truly jumped up place. Thankfully a great Thai has opened in Cranliegh so we won't starve!

There is simply nothing to praise about this place, the staff or the food. Avoid. Having served bottles of beer it took over an hour to get any attention and another hour before food was delivered to the table. The rushed and slightly grumpy owner of the place was assisted by a scruffy looking person in a basball hat; a person with a “not my place mate, I’m only helping out” uninterested attitude.

Great place to get some indian food. Place is clean and modern. Food tasted amazing. Just the garlic naan was soaked in the juices of about half a kilo of garlic. Our wee smelled of garlic for two days straight and don't ask about number 2.
