Great hidden gem indian restaurant in the Godalming/Farnocmbe area. Food and service were both fantastic and prices were very reasonable. Everything we had was excellent - curries were great and we loved the prawn puri starter and garlic chilli naan!

Booked at table for 7pm, didn't take out order until 8pm, food arrived at 8.50pm. It wasn't even that busy!! Good job I was having a nice time catching up with a friend! They apologised after a while but didn't even offer us a free drink or anything. Was tasty when it arrived at least.

We visited this restaurant with friends last night and everything about our evening was faultless. The staff were welcoming, attentive and precise in every detail. The food was exceptional - fresh, colourful, beautifully seasoned, expertly cooked and not in the least oily as some Indian dishes can be. We all ate from the Tandoori section of the menu, chose a variety of sides and finished with coffee. My brandy was served in a warm and pleasing glass which made for heavenly sipping! We will return often I predict!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon, with a friend from India, on the basis of the high positive rating. Unfortunately the restaurant fell short of our expectations on all fronts. On arrival the restaurant was empty, we were seated and our drinks orders were taken shortly afterwards. We were the only people in the restaurant. It took a further 20 mins for our two drinks to arrive. We had meanwhile also ordered food dishes. My friend ordered fish. When we were told this would incur a 30 minute wait time, he asked if it was fresh and asked for extra seasoning. He was assured the fish was fresh so asked how fresh and was finally informed the fish was in fact frozen. On arrival the fish was not particularly well flavoured and with no trace of seasoning. The Chicken Tandoori Masala I ordered was overly sweet and nothing to write home about. Although we raised the food quality issues with the waiter, he did not provide any apology or offer to remedy our dissatisfaction. Poor experience all round.

What a wonderful surprise! Guildford and Godalming has lacked a quality Indian Restaurant for quite some time. We were made to feel very welcome, the food was first class and the service polite and friendly. It felt like we have come home again. We will be back and I recommend you do the same!

I used to ba regular at this place until it went downhill, so on someone's recommendation (after new management) decided to give it a try and it's quite simply a different experience - in a good way! Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend it. If you used to go and gave up, give it another chance - it's not the same place.

My brother took our family here for dinner, and we were pleasantly impressed by the setting and the restaurant's genuineness. Everyone greeted us, and they went out of their way to welcome us as we entered. Both the food and the service were excellent. The Indian food was possibly the greatest I've ever had. Everything was perfectly seasoned, flavourful, and well prepared. We left feeling happy and satisfied inside. It is such a cute place, and you won't be dissatisfied with the food or service, so I would definitely recommend it.

Four of us are here tonight and really enjoyed the food and the service, both were very good and will gladly come back.

A gem of a restaurant, found it by chance but what a find it was. The staff are delightfully friendly and helpful, the menu contains a good selection of dishes and the restaurant itself has a nice quiet charm. Its location near the Farncombe train station is perfect if you are traveling and need something to eat, or are just generally in the area. Definitely check it out!

Amazing improvements definitely worth coming and I'll bring people here

I have been to this restaurant many times in the past and I really only go here because it is the only place locally to where we visit family which is open for lunch and to be honest is was not that good.....HOWEVER, it was a very nice surprise to see that it has been totally refurbished inside, with new menu and new management and it's all good, FAR better than the way it was before. I'll have no hesitation in going back.

We had been put off by a bad meal but decided to try again after a long break so went on Sunday 18th June. Great decision and we had a fabulous meal, lovely waiter too . Its a great location for us as we run a local Airbnb . Looking forward to going again

Farncombe is a great start/endpoint for hikers and this restaurant - three minutes walk away from the London-bound platform - is a great place to finish up.

We had heard rave reviews about this restaurant. Sadly it must have been an off night. The restaurant got our order completely mixed up, the very nice lady took our order correctly, but the kitchen let the order down. Our main course arrived but no starters, then only one arrived instead of 2 ,which we shared, as we waited 45 minutes. The starter was salt and pepper squid, which was very tough. The now tepid main was ok.

Had a lunchtime meal and it was ace. Will definitely be a regular customer.

We had a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and very professional. The new look to the restaurant is terrific. It is spacious and very attractive. The menu is marvellous for all tastes. There are plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options. The portions are generous and everything is reasonably priced. We had a romantic dinner but it would equally suit family, friends or lone dining.

We stopped here for late dinner on the way from somerset and it was a decent find. We had karahi chicken, naan, pilau rice and fish curry which was lovely. Mutter paneer was not up to our taste as it needed a little bit more flavour, spice and salt. No complaints as we got there super late. Staff were accommodating and patient. They kept checking on us even though we went during their closing time. Def worth a try!

The quality of food gets worse every time we go. The naan was absolutely burnt, curry was too greasy and lead to a stomach ache. They kept bringing us stuff without us actually confirming. They brought us "2" poppadoms which ended up being 4 and the sauces which we didn't ask for which were apparently included.

Went here for a belated birthday treat for our daughter & we were not disappointed! Service was excellent & the food was wonderful! The tandoori salmon was so tender & full of flavour. Great to see this place busy on a bog standard Wednesday evening! It just goes to show how great Farncombe Tandoori is!

I love this place. Can’t afford to go there often but for special occasions it’s brilliant. I recently took my partner out for their birthday and we had a brilliant experience. The set menu was fabulous and we enjoyed everything. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I genuinely can’t rate this place highly enough.

Great food and really pleasant staff

I recently had the pleasure of eating here for the first time. Really enjoyed it, the food was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient. Looking forward to coming back.

Ate here on a Wednesday night with friends, got home and when asked "So what did you talk about?" I replied "The food." We were greeted jovially and entered the ample restaurant area which we found comfortable. Service was prompt and receptive, the waiter answering my questions as I read the tidy, brief menu. Poppadoms were top notch, the bottled beers were notably tasty, and each dish was well composed and plentiful. Our experience from start to finish was of excellent service with generous and faultless cooking. Will be visiting again soon.

We had the set, midweek menu, veggie starters, then lamb rogan gosht, nicely spiced with tender lamb. We also had the chicken korahi, also good. Nice fragrant rice with it. Very good service. Would recommend. Not many in Wed evening, probably busier at weekends.

The samosa was cold from inside however they kindly replaced it. The sauce in the paneer was very watery and tasteless (too many peas and not enough paneer). The keema peas wasn’t very nice however the peshwari naan tasted good and the mango lassi also (they should add this to the menu). Service was a slow but I understand they were busy. It’s alright for a night out with friends but would go somewhere else for authentic Indian food.

We have been visiting the Farncombe Tandoori for several years now with mixed results but were very impressed with both the recent refurbishment and the quality of the food under the new management.

We went in on a Friday night and we really enjoyed our meal. The food was very flavourful and just the right size portions. Throughout the staff gave us the right amount of time and attention which made the experience even more pleasant.

Awful service, refused to honour their own voucher. Came here for what could at best be described as an average curry, after which I tried to use a perfectly valid voucher to which the only member of front of house in the restaurant told me...

Found the food last night to be rather disappointing. They have slimmed the menu down...so one would expect some really top notch dining but it was very standard. The vegetables in my dhansak were mushy...you couldn't really tell what you were eating. The dish was also over spiced (I recognise this is a spicy dish but the balance was off). My friend also was unimpressed with his mediocre dish. The staff are friendly and attentive. I really liked the decor and feel of the restaurant; its just a shame the food wasn't up to scratch.

Terrible experience with rude & unpleasant staff. We purchased a Groupon voucher to eat here. Having checked availability and booked via the Groupon app, we arrived at the restaurant at the arranged time with our voucher. They refused to honour them saying that they no longer work with Groupon, even though we checked availability and made the reservation just the day before! They were unpleasant and made us feel like we were trying to scam them - even though we simply purchased the deal that they themselves made available on Groupon! We were previously frequent customers, even though the quality has lessened over the past few years. Now will never return.

Usually, the lamb i typically order is succulent (rather fatty) but succulent. This time it was so hard it had a rubbery liver texture and taste. It was a sad and disappointing meal. Have you hired any new chefs? Sounds like the new guy/girl isn't doing too great
