Been a regular here for years and my last visit may well be my last. Had to complain at the end of the meal that the chicken in all the dishes was overcooked with such a dry texture it was hard to eat it. So much so that I would go so far as to say the chicken was recooked/reheated to the point of being inedible. When complained the young waiter was very apologetic and went so far as to say we were not the only ones to complain that evening! The main waiter did take two of the main courses off the bill but frankly gave the impression that he knew it was overcooked / reheated as never tried to convince us otherwise. Lastly, the main waiter needs to back off and show more respect to customers as he is so pushy to try and increase what you are spending - pushy and verging on rude right from the beginning regarding popadoms. And you don't need to touch customers when talking to them as didn't appreciate his need to keep putting his hand on my shoulder! Pipasha has been a favorite of ours for years and you can put up with the odd bad meal but when everything ordered to the table has the same issue, frankly its then obvious there's an issue in the kitchen. Overcooked reheated chicken/dishes is just bad and over pushy verging on rude waiter doesn't make the experience any better.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

DISCLAIMER: !This review is based on takeaway orders only! We have been looking for a decent Indian/Nepalese in the area. Pipasha is only 2 minutes away so we thought it would be very convenient fit. We have tried Pipasha 3x in the last few months. We have never been thrilled with the food, but sometimes people have an off day or certain dishes may not be to your liking, so we try to give people a fair chance and try to get a better feel for the quality by trying a variety of different dishes over time Onto some specifics... The good: - Naan bread is great and has been on every occasion - Rice is generally good - Staff are friendly and good response over the phone - Locals are fond of Pipasha (even if they don't eat there) because it is a household name that has been in the area for many years. - Decent seating area for when you are waiting for your order The not so good: - On 2/3 occasions, some of the dishes were overcooked. Specifically Onion Bhaji, Samosas, Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken. Slightly dry is acceptable, but when the food becomes dark and bitter, it is not a pleasant experience. - Poppadums don't appear to be made to order or the oil isn't hot enough, or the packet of dried poppadums (before frying) are old. On all 3 occasions they have come across as slightly stale The bad: - Charging extra for 'King Prawns' is expected...but charging 20% more for prawns that are clearly pre-cooked / frozen is unacceptable. If they aren't pre-cooked, they are being massively overcooked. Prawns are a family favourite so we have tried 4 different prawn dishes. Each time the prawns have been like rubber bullets or chewing a school eraser. It's a shame because the flavour of the marinades and sauces has been quite nice, but the whole family have been leaving the prawns behind because they are simply off-putting. - The food is generally quite oily compared to many other establishments. Not greasy like a cheap chinese, but there have been a couple of dishes that were swimming in oil. Yes, you can remove the excess oil as you serve the food, but you shouldn't have to. - The price Yes, there is a cost of living crisis. Yes, we have inflation, but the reality is, we have had much better food at the same price. We've got near London prices but nowhere near London quality, which is a shame. In fact, loathed as I am to say it, some of own homemade curries have been far more memorable and obviously much cheaper. Even the M&S curry selections are of a higher standard and half (yes half) the price. The only thing Pipasha does better is the naan bread. It may seem absurd to draw the comparison, but there's a reason I've created a TripAdvisor account just to write this review. In Summary: Yes, this is a generally negative review, but I want it to be understood we are being as fair and considerate as possible. We have tried the restaurant on multiple occasions, we have tried 10+ different dishes and spent approaching £200 and we don't feel like we have had fair value. Equally, there are many people who love Pipasha and they may have good reason to, this is just our experience and unfortunately for us and for them, we can't justify another visit.

Have been looking for a decent Indian restaurant locally for a while and missed this gem. As a result of a mailing campaign we tried them for the first time for a takeaway. The food was excellent, fairly priced, and the acid test got us wondering when we could justify having an Indian takeaway again! So we’ll done the chefs and staff at this restaurant we’ll be back. The restaurant itself appeared clean and welcoming for those who would rather eat out.

We ordered a takeaway a week ago. They were busy so the time to wait before collecting was 1 hour. When we arrived after the hour the place was packed with a queue of people waiting for their takeaways. When we got to the head of the queue we were told it'd be another 5 minutes. 10 minutes later asked again and it was being packed. 10 minutes after that it would be seconds. Finally, after another 10 minutes and repeatedly asking it arrived. No apologies for it being 40 minutes late or anything. They had massively overbooked the restaurant and taken too many takeaway orders. Clearly they can't manage to their capacity and everyone suffers. There were people waiting for their tables 20 minutes after they had booked them. To top it all half the food was really poor - overcooked, mushy vegetables etc. Never going to use them again as I can't forgive them for constantly misleading me about when it'd be ready. Unfortunately Pipashs has really gone downhill over the last few months and this was the last straw.

Our table was booked for 7:30 (Friday night). We arrived on time to find the restaurant full & 2 other parties waiting to be seated. They asked if we minded going to the pub for 20 minutes which we did. When we got back, they had clearly given our table to another party. The table where people wait to collect takeaway was cleared & we were sat next to exposed cabling from the yet to be completed alterations. We ordered quickly, but it was still 9:30 before we got our starters & then we had a further fairly long wait for our main courses, by which time my wife was past eating. The food was fantastic & we've had takeaway lots of times but they really let themselves down this time. The offer of a free drink at the end of our meal was a reasonable gesture but having been to the pub, the 2 drivers couldn't take advantage of it anyway & it was by then quite late so we declined.

We came to this wonderful Indian restaurant on holiday because we were staying nearby in Tilford and wanted to celebrate a birthday. We are so pleased we chose to come here, despite never having come to this restaurant before - as soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The manager Ali was very receptive through his bubbly, warm personality and by cracking a few jokes. Our waiter Saj was also very personable and treated us very well throughout our meal. The food was delicious and authentic… I’m not surprised considering the chef has been cooking for 35 years! We ordered chicken tikka saag, chicken tikka bhuna, chicken tikka morisa and chicken tikka Jalfezi (phaal hot!). We also had a garlic naan, onion bhajis and saag aloo. We cannot fault anything and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. Not to mention the birthday boy rounded off his pleasant night with a calypso coffee ‘on the house’ from Ali. A thoroughly enjoyable night at a top curry house. Will definitely be coming again!

I’m a bit of a curry snob. Anything south of Leicester makes me dubious and, after the joys of many northern curries (Syhiba, Prashad and Tharavadhu in particular), I’m hard to please. Pipasha isn’t all that smart or different, but we had a great meal here with very tasty (and huge) tikka paneer, chickpea masala, vegetable dhansak and tarka dal with added spinach, plus a light and fluffy naan. Poppadums were light and crisp and the chutneys really tasty. Service was fast and friendly too. The best in the area (and better than the famed Madhuban in Liss).

Always nice to get an Indian takeaway that isn’t swimming in oil like most. He sag aloo is nice and green rather than a brown, muddy looking mess like some places. The chicken tikka madras was very good, and the tikka really elevated the flavour with some good marinated flavours coming through and a nice lemony finish. Having tried all the Farnham town Indian restaurants we ventured further afield to Pipasha to see what they had to offer. It has always come out tops in Tripadvisor for Farnham Indian restaurants so we thought we's see if it lived up to it's reputation. Firstly it was nearly full on a Wednesday evening so that was a good sign. Service was good and food served in a timely fashion. By this I mean we weren't rushed from course to course, and all the food was cooked nicely. As Chicken Tikka Dansak is our favourite dish abd we know it well we went for this as the main. It was very tasty and suitably spicy (some places don't get the balance of sweet and sour right along with the right amount of chilli) and passed the test! We will now make this our go-to Indian as it deserves the 10 mile drive to get there.

Visited the restaurant this evening and found it an upsetting experience. Firstly, my lager shandy had soda water substituted for lemonade resulting in a very watery drink. When I complained, I was treated wis disbelief by the manager who said it was fine all week ! Subsequently, he apologised and said that his waiter put soda instead of lemonade ! Then the food was served piecemeal in dribs and drabs instead of together. Not a good start. Apart from a lack of service, the meal was good and plates were quickly cleared. A dessert menu was placed on the table without comment. We asked for the bill (twice) and eventually were overcharged @ 20% on the advertised menu prices on their website which I checked once we'd returned home. They are clearly very friendly with their regular customers but you'd hope first time visitors would be able to get a reasonable meal and drink without being overcharged ? Very disappointed.

I have reviewed Pipasha before. It is my favourite Indian restaurant in the area. Last week I visited another nearby Indian restaurant that has had good reviews on TripAdvisor. Just to compare. It did not compare well with Pipasha, which the family visited 2 days later. The Pipasha ambience, service and food were far superior. We arrived at Pipasha early on Saturday evening. Already the restaurant was busy and tables were reserved. By the time we left (2 hours later) it was almost full and there was a steady butcunobtrusive "take away" trade - all testimony to the quality of the catering. I deliberately ordered the same meal as I had had at the other restaurant. There was no comparison. The Pipasha meal was lighter, "fresher" and more delicate - you could taste the spices.Overall a far superior and enjoyable experience.

Looking for our hotel decided to stop here for some food. Staff very friendly and attentive, my meal of Lamb Pasender was delicious but my husband found his Chicken Biryani very bland.

We met up with friends here as we all wanted to try somewhere new in the area. Everything was just very drab and uninspiring; the welcome we received, the table and the whole restaurant and the food was just not enough to be pleasant or make us return. I can't really say one particular thing was awful but the whole evening added up to not much and all six of us left saying that we were not impressed and wouldn't go back. Sorry Pipasha but you need to try a bit harder.

We've been coming to the Pipasha for years. Having originally lived quite close by we now continue to make the journey because it continues to be so good. The restaurant itself is quite small so booking is definitely recommended. The staff are kind and attentive and the food is delicious. In all the years we've visited, having taken many different family and friends, we are yet to experience a poor meal.Only slight criticism (and actually it's also a point of praise) is that the staff are quite happy to let you linger having eaten- perfectly lovely obviously but it can feel quite awkward when you want to attract attention to pay the bill. That is literally the only fault to be found.

Delicious Indian Food.Best to book in advance as it can get crowded due to popularity. Comfortable seating and pleasant unobtrusive service.

We have probably been to this restaurant about 6 times in the last 3 years. The food is always freshly made and extremely tasty, we have always tried to order something different and yet to have a bad dish. Probably the best Indian in the Farnham area and well wo rth the drive out. If you like real ale or cider, then arrive earlier and try the crossways pub, best range of guest ales and ciders for many miles. Combining them makes a great evening out.

4 of us went here last weekend. It was tasty and the perfect Indian. The only down side was that we asked 3 times before anyone came to ask for our mains order, then the wait for our mains was around 50 mins. Worth the wait... Just about.

We thought we'd try somewhere other than the Indian restaurants around the town centre and my husband and I were so glad we did. Our first visit to Pipasha Tandoori sent it straight to the top of our favourites list. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was nearly full (we had booked) so there was a good atmosphere. The welcome was warm, the food delicious and hot (temperature), the service was friendly and efficient and the bill was lower than expected. We thoroughly enjoyed the poppadoms, onion bhajees, meat samosas, chicken tikka malaya and sag chicken with pilau rice, naan bread and cucumber raita. We washed this down with a beer, cider and soft drink followed by one dessert and a coffee. The bill was £49 so we considered that good value for the lovely meal we had enjoyed.Parking was a bit difficult as there was an event on at the adjacent village hall but we were lucky to find a spot eventually. We will definitely be back and next time I will remember to pick up a take-away menu for cosy nights in.

I have had so many great meals in this restaurant I have lost count. Been eating here since it opened in 1990 (If my memory serves me!). The meal count is something like 1500-2000 which is quite scary. My only excuse is I do love a good curry and it's my local! In all that huge time I cannot (genuinely) remember a bad meal. The sauces are always excellent and the meat is a lovely quality. Last meal was last night with friends and it was great as always. Mix of lovely medium hot curries (Madras/Dhansak etc) with Mushroom rice and Nan breads. A great meal washed down with ice cold Banglas! Fantastic as always. It has been owned in the same family for all the time I have been there and the service is always excellent and friendly.I have eaten curries all over the world and at 100s of different restaurants but the Pipasha is always great to come home to!100% recommended and say Steve sent you :-).

The staff are courteous and attentive although patient and discreet. The menu is surprisingly varied with a number of vegetarian and regional dishes not found elsewhere. The ingredients are fresh, the spices vibrant. The wine selection caters for the best vineyards and a discerning palate. We had a Rioja - vino tinto - but with rich berry fruits sustained with oak.My vegetarian balti jalfrezi mains was spicy and rich in fresh flavours. We will go back soon.

This is a relatively small restaurant in a relatively small village; hardly an obvious destination. However, the food is quite excellent and well worth travelling for. Although one would typically think of the Pipasha as "an Indian restaurant" the food is more Bangladeshi in style; not overburdened with chilli and other hot spices (unless you choose). In the dozen years I have visited the restaurant I have never had a poor meal.

Visited with friends on Saturday eveningDespite warnings that pre- booking was essential, the restaurant wasn't terribly busy - perhaps due to a big do in the local village hallVery pleasant ambiance. Food was excellent and portions quite reasonableThe only small downer was the indifference of one waiter, who seemed determined to avoid any kind of customer contact. Perhaps some extra training? At £35 per head for 2 courses several sides and a few beers, it was good valueOverall, I would recommend and will return

First time we ordered after a recommendation. The order was wrong and food utterly vile!!Chana Masala at £4 utterly shocking. Korma tasted of ground cheap black pepper! Never ordering again from here. Truly the worst food I've ever had from an Indian takeaway.Chap on desk was really not interested at all. Wish we had stayed with Chilli Nights.

Eaten here a few times and have always had a good curry. The staff are friendly and the menu has one or two slight different things as well as the normal fare of tikka masala, pasanda, rogan josh, jafrezi etc.It was about £25 a head with starters and drinks.... Not bad... I will be going again. Thanks for a good evening.

I have been going to Pipasha's since I arrived in the area in 2003ish. It serves really great food and the service is always welcoming and attentive. Your main problem will be getting through the door as it tends to be very popular with the locals. Also provides takeaway.

Found this little Indian restaurant by chance from googling restaurants near Frensham Pond. And the website description of the foods made my mouth water. Arrived and the service was so good. The food lived up to my expectation and will certainly go back again if I am in the area.

After a break of a couple of months we had a family meal tonight. There is such a nice intimate Atmospere and all the staff make you feel very welcome. The menu is extensive with a wide choice if varying dishes. The service was just right giving plenty of time to enjoy the courses. We all had a starter And for the main course I had the Tandori mixed grill which was just amazing We all had different dishes and everything was served hot and was just superb.I and other family members have used this restaurant for several years and if is up there with the very bestWould recommend
