The best restaurants serving Indian food in Cheshire East North West

Absolutely shocking service! My wife and I were in a hurry as we had to pick up our children from nursery. With this in mind, I went in early and ordered our food. Three times I told the gentlemen our order and asked him if he could please put it on now and we would be there in 5 minutes after finishing our drinks next door. The gentleman obviously did not speak good English. He initially thought we wanted a take the food away. I explained for the 4th time we were sitting in and pointed to the table we would sit at. I even paid up front so we could get the food cooking. We only had 1 hour until our children needed to be picking up. We went in 10 minutes later and sat down. After 5 minutes at the table they bought out a take away bag. I explained that I had said 4 times that we wanted to eat in. The other gentleman who worked there who may have been the manager was very rude. They then put the food into dishes and eventually bought our food meaning we had to rush it. They didn't take our drinks order and refused to pack away our dips as we couldn't finish them. They then had the cheek to bring an additional bill of around £15. What for? Terrible service, no drinks order and refusal to let us take away the food. I said I would meet him half way as the service was terrible. I don't care about the money it was principle at this point. The guy then very rudely and aggressively said forget it and patronisingly said " if money is so important to you then don't pay the extra." Don't forget we had already paid the full bill upfront and had no drinks so this charge was purely for eating in. The guy then told me not to come back! Do not worry, none of my friends or family will come anywhere near!

The best Phall I've ever had. Brilliant consistency, fantastic taste and perfectly spiced.

Have been several times and the food is always very good. Lamb jalfrezi tender and beautifully spiced. Sag Paneer delicious, all the trimmings well presented and cooked. Always a few extras. Spotlessly clean with helpful staff.

Delicious food best curry for sometime. We went Good Friday as a family party of 12, the service was slow to start but as another party of 10 arrived at the same time we understood. The food made up for the slow start. Everything from the kormas, chicken tikka, mixed grills etc everyone enjoyed it ages 8-76 yrs and it was plentiful too. Will become our go to from now on Just dropped the 1 star on service

Delivered to the wrong house and there are only 4 in the steet, food was bland even for a corma overpriced. Even with discount.

Our first time at this long established restaurant. The staff were freat and there is an extensive choice on the menu. We had chicken tikka massala, a chilli lamb dish, special pillau rice, tarkha dhall, sag aloo and onion bhaji. All dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty. Wine choices are good and prices very reasonable. Great meal!!

Been in a few times now. Don’t think any of the waiters realise they work in a restaurant. One of them is so rude, you think it’s a parody restaurant. Asked for poppadoms, he said he wouldn’t get them til we gave our main order. Another one just won’t shut up - always making stupid jokes and over sharing his personal life - and then when you need him he’s on a personal call behind the bar jabbering away in his mother tongue. And one of them just sits and watches films on the tv. I say this as if there’s lots of staff. Tbh, 95% of the time they aren’t there leaving you wondering if you’ll ever get any service as you dine for long periods without any staff present. People often walk in and straight out as no one is there to greet them. The food is actually ok but the Kingfisher on tap is warm and disgusting. When this was mentioned to the waiter who never shuts up he just shrugged and told me to tell the manager. Never again. Fed up with the place now.

Always good food reasonably priced

We ate here on 12th April 2025. The food and service were excellent and we had an interesting chat with the proprietor afterwards, a really nice man. At some Indian restaurants, you don't always get what it says, but here if the menu says it's spicy, then it will be! 🔥 This was my first visit to Macclesfield in 32 years and I'm pleased we went here. Uninspiring yet ok food. Prawn puri starter was the highlight - packed with flavour and prawns and the puri was light and fresh. Chicken was on the dry side in the Pathia which also lacked richness. Avoid the house red. It's the only one available by the glass and is approaching undrinkable. Ideal for a post pub curry, but it is not the 'amazing' food that some of the reviews suggest. I cannot comment on the chef specials and is only one visit, so I may be underselling this place..or not!

It’s only fair to start with the fact that my friend who booked us in regularly eats here and it’s great. However, I have a shellfish allergy and so I phoned the day before to check they can cater for that. I spoke to the manager who said they don’t have shellfish. I then pointed out that the starters alone contain many prawn dishes and he said yes, they do prawns. He obviously didn’t know that prawns are shellfish. This was a worrying start but I carried on with my query. Could they cater for a shellfish allergy? He said yes they could do a shellfish free meal. I asked if that means they would have a shellfish free area to prep my meal. ‘No’ was the answer, the kitchen is too small. I just had a drink with my friends and went home to eat. It seemed way too risky. Also another friend who came couldn’t eat because she is vegan and they couldn’t cater for her either. I feel sad giving a bad review but in the case of allergies, this is very serious and so I thought I’d post. The rest of the company had a lovely time there but if you have an allergy, you can now make an informed decision about whether to eat at this restaurant.

Pedimos que se entregara comida que era tarde, que podría haberse pasado por alto, pero la comida era asquerosa. Probado y las 3 piezas que estaban en el korma no se cocinaron! Terminó arruinando todo el lote.

Lovely surroundings with a lively atmosphere.Although the service was very friendly it was very slow for drinks, food ordering and delivery which meant the food wasn't that hot when it arrived.

Yesterday I had an excellent meal, so I went there again today and was very satisfied again. The cuisine is really exceptionally good. Chicken south Indian Garlic Mirchi has caused a real taste explosion. Great flavors and a pleasant spiciness. Absolutely recommended without reservation. The naan bread with cheese was also very tasty. Really filled with cheese. Mega!
