Worst curry ever!! Frozen chicken tossed in canned tomatoes. No flavour and even your pets wouldn’t eat it. Staff was rude, abrupt and had zero manners. Would not visit this place if someone even paid me to go. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

Came for a family meal out early one Friday evening - prompt, efficient and friendly service, and the team always recognise you when you come back. Great curry’s and naan breads.

Amazing food and brilliant hospitality from the owner himself and staff

The tandoor chef knows how to cook, the chicken shaslick, tandori prawns and naan were fine but the Madrass sauce I ordered as an extra was the worst thing I have ever had in an Indian restaurant, it looked and tasted like passata with chilli powder, the tomato taste was overpowering. I complained to the manager about it and he said "no one else has ever complained" firstly this not how to deal with a complaint and secondly this is a lie as a quick check through past reviews picks up exactly the same issue. I know Indian restaurants now struggle for chefs but cooking a base sauce for curries is the simpliest of things, I'm glad I didn't order a straight curry it really would have ruined the night. I would suggest if you visit stick to the tandoor produced food. In case you think I don't know what I'm talking about I am an avid curry fan, four nights this week alone.

Excellent traditional Indian restaurant.Quakity of food and spice is so good. Best Indian in Wilmslow easily and love that fact it doesn’t try and be anything other than an authentic curry house

By far the best Indian Restaurant in Wilmslow, food is far better than anywhere else, not the most modern restaurant but if you like your Indian food then this is very hard to beat and we are very fussy! Never had a bad meal in 20 years. Long may they continue!

The quality of the food is not as good as it used to be. Will visit again but would not visit for a special occasion.

Our first visit on a busy Saturday evening was a fabulous experience. Superb service from start to finish Delicious food and all round lovely atmosphere.

The service here is shocking. We have ordered many take-aways from here , and also eaten in the restaurant with friends. Every take-away was promised at a certain time.....but I've always waited at least 10 minutes after the promised time , and on 2 occasions 25 and 40 minutes later - THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!. We are now looking for somewhere else to dine and order take-aways. The toilets are not clean , there are FOOD stains on the menus and food stuck on condiment pots. The manager is POOR. He doesn't know how to delegate the work , so you have one guy taking the drinks order , another one taking the food order , then you have to ask at least 3 times for the bill. The staff are not attentive and never ask if everything is ok. They don't even offer a "goodbye" when you leave. And this is normal. Your staff need to have a meeting , read these negative reviews out , get trained , and even try to smile now and again. There's no music , the lighting is poor and badly thought out too. No ambience. I needed to air our views , as my partner and our friends feel the same. We won't be coming back if this hasn't been addressed in a month. Let's see. Disappointed.

Food was barely warm. Lacked flavour The worst curry I have had in a while. I was wondering if the chef was on a night off and the food was being microwaved. 3 of us and none of us were impressed

Best curry we every had. Lovely staff, fresh and tasty food as well as reasonable prices. I can’t recommend it enough. Our go to curry place from now on 😊

The food is always good quality, it seems to have become a little bit more expensive than our last visit. £15 a Tandoori Mixed grill, mains around £13 with rice extra. The staff were helpful and attentive and alcohol prices reasonable for a restaurant. Top marks for getting the No Fresh Coriander right and for pointing out that one of the relishes had coriander leaves in it. Prices still the same, so relatively cheaper! Still the same quality and friendly staff.

We didn't book but walked in we was seated straight away it was busy but there was a couple of tables left. I hadn't been here before it was clean and the staff were friendly the service was good and the food was excellent the mixed starter was amazing and the chicken Madras and lamb buhna were cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and there was some left at the end as we were so full .We will come here again

Came here new year eve. Staff were lovely. The venue was clean and tidy and the food was delicious. One of the best Indians I have been too.

Always delivers the goods. By far the best Indian restaurant in Wilmslow, yes restaurant isn’t all flash and modern like some others but the food is far superior, proper curry no frills. Been really busy recently which is good to see people are finally realising where the best Indian food is in SK9!

Went this evening. Food and service was good, but if you partially judge a restaurant by the standard of its loos then you’d give this place 1 star.

Service was good throughout, quickly seated and attended too. The food was fantastic. They do a meal which is £45 for two people, it is such good value (2 starters, 2 mains, rice, side and Nan). If you haven’t been, it is definitely worth a try!

Absolutely shocking service! The more I think about this the more I wish I’d just got up and walked out! I’ve never done that before but it would have been justified here. We had to wait nearly an hour just for drinks, we asked three times and they suggested there was an issue,(when we asked the third time) but no alternatives offered. We tried to wait for all our starters to come but gave up and literally everyone had finished when the last persons actually came out. It was close to two hours before food was on the table and when we raised the poor service at the end they argued it was good, maybe slow but we are nice people. They gave us £2 per head off the bill. Maybe nice people but over 3hours in a curry house with two pints isn’t what I was after to start my Saturday night, it ended it as well! Just shocking how bad it can be when they don’t even realise it. How are they still in business with so many other good places around them?

Ordered a takeaway, arrived on time to collect it, was told it was not ready. After 15 minutes the server impatiently took my details again, told me that I had mispronounced my name (John) and handed me a bag that had been standing on the counter since before I arrived. Food was cold. Staff rude and impatient

Whilst food was good the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our starter. The table next to us came in after us and had their main before our starter! When our mains came, my main was wrong so I had to wait another 10 mins. Plus they forgot to bring our rice - we had to ask for it! We asked the waiter for a discount due to bad service. He just laughed.

It's been 10 years since I last ordered a takeaway from the Barinda. The last time the chef forgot to put any curry powder in the Madras. It had a definite Italian twist with a simple tomato base. To be fair, they replaced the dish and came back home to each mine alone after the rest of the family had finished. Felt brave enough to give it another go. Ordered a takeaway for specified time, and then collected it 10 minutes early. Some of the dished were lukewarm, it seems had been prepared ASAP and had been cooling off since. Must do better.

Back to its best, I like it hot so their application of spices hits the spot

We had a take away and it was not the best. The Portions were very small, the silver trays were only half full instead of full (always full at other Indian takeaways we use) and the food was greasy. Would not go again.

Barinda used to have a good reputation in Wilmslow, but clearly somethings changed in recent times - the food and service have both gone seriously down hill. The soft drinks weren’t even on draft - we saw the staff pouring them from 2L shop bought bottles and then having the cheek to charge £3.50. Food was equally overpriced for the quality - the curries were at least flavoursome but the portions were small - and 2 of our party have ended up with stomach pains and nausea the next day - not very hygienic! The naan breads were burnt and had an odd taste, overall a really poor experience. In terms of the service it was rushed and lacking in general manners and attentiveness - they had even ran out of mints for the end of the meal. We won’t be returning to Barinda - there are much better options in the area for authentic, tasty, hygienic Indian cuisine with good service.

We visited tonight and it wasn’t great. The place was rammed, everyone crammed close together, staff not wearing masks properly, didn’t see one staff member clean their hands whilst we were there. Expensive for the quality of the food, £53 for two with a drink...

My long term friend and I went for a curry Monday 14/12/2020 The mixed starters were pretty good 1 x lamb chop quite small a shami kebab that was nice and a piece of tandoori chicken all quite tasty.chop meat was a little chewy but...

Not worth your money! Service is shocking. Food was obviously reheated and served within minutes of the order being placed. Restaurant pushed poppadoms due to the ridiculous mark up on them. Main server was incredibly rude so will never be back!

Very good quality dishes. Relaxed atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Food OK was very surprised to be charged 12 pounds for 10 poppadoms usually in most restaraunts they are served free while you are making up your mind what to order.Waiters efficient but not over friendly.

Best Indian in the area by far. Handforth, Wilsmlow, Aldreley Edge and Knutsofrd this place has the best food and super friendly and welcoming staff.

Aww we had a lovely family and friends get together here tonight to say farewell to a lovely Man who lost his life recently. The staff were so polite and courteous and the food was amazing. Thanks Barinda for your support to our own little send off ❤

We went to Barinas late on a Saturday night as we had been to a family party earlier and hadn’t eaten. Although we were very late we were made very welcome. The menu was extensive and offered lots of dishes we had not tried before....

Nice food and attentive staff, worth a visit.

I read some of the reviews complaining about the service, so I asked them about this as we entered the restaurant. Needless to say, the service was great and the food was just as good. I had the chicken Vindaloo. I asked for very hot...

We went to the Barinda for the first time recently and had a very enjoyable meal. We had different version of curried lamb and both were good and portions were genereous. The nan bread was particularly good. Service was fine. We look forward to going back.

The food is lovely and the service is alright a bit slow but the staff are friendly enough! But the drinks... I ordered a black current and soda as I didn’t want anything else. Normally these are cheap (unless glass bottles used which I understand). I ordered a couple of these as I was just thirsty rather than water. £2.50 for a tiny glass!!! Upon paying I asked why they were so expensive and was told it was on the menu (this was removed from our table when we sat down and had ordered our first drink). I then asked to see what soda they were using, I was disgusted! It was an open bottle 1.5 ltr you could buy at Tesco for 80p!!!! Same for all soft drinks lemonade Diet Coke etc! Absolutely disgusting rip off it was flat enough when drinking it!! I will NOT be back!!!

The food at the Barinda is always exceptionally good - great fresh spices, tasty seafood and lovely naans. Lovely friendly staff too. My absolute favourite!

Really good Indian restaurant, the food was fresh and tasty, service was friendly. The one and only downside was that they couldn't provide me with VAT receipt or any receipt at all other than hand written piece of paper.

Fab place to eat and for a take away

I have used the barinda on and off for a number of years and been generally happy with their solid, consistent (if not spectacular) quality of food so this review saddens me. Tonight I took my elderly mother and a friend to the restaurant for a treat and was appalled by the poor service. Complete lack of attention and customer care. Won't be going back.

In Wilmslow this was our favourite Indian. However for a while now we have gone to Eastern Revive but decided to give The Barinda a fresh visit. Food was as good as ever. Highly recommend. Service however is lacking in terms of “ smiling “ pleasure to serve etc. Staff looked ... well disinterested. Paid the bill but not even a “ thank you “ . Just basically threw the receipt almost back . Not impressed by service but food was great. So work on the service with a smile (we have choices) and I might give a better rating.

Pleasant enough restaurant, and had a good evening here. The food is fine but nothing exceptional - portions very large, so a fair amount left by all 3 on our table. Miss the Ayo Gurkhali which used to be round the corner - but hey ho. Barinda - need to try harder on the food front, not far off but if the portions were smaller and taste more distinctive you'd be tempted to have more sides or courses.

We have eaten at the Barinda on many occasions . We mentioned to the waiter that the curry seem wrong , he never got an answer for us , in my opinion this was a poor show . I was eating a three chilli main that wasn’t anywhere near as hot as they one chilli dish .

Booked for dinner. Waiter seated us (after someone people who came in after us)!! Drinks arrived, then waiter says, main courses are going to be 30 minutes. Should have left at this point. Watched bags and bags and bags of take away food being collected during this time. 50 minutes in..still waiting, do I want another drink the waiter asks...no i’d like my dinner please...it’s coming in 5 minutes. 1 hour later, still no food. What I should have done is to order a take away to be delivered my table, that way i’d Have had my dinner within 20 minutes.

Avoid like a plague!!!Got some take-away from Barinda's tonight. Disgusting!"tandoori" fish that has obviously never been in a vicinity to tandoor oven of less than 5 meter radius let alone being in it.Litteraly within seconds after tasting it my wife had been sick all over, literally.Undercooked,smelly old piece of rubbish.Curry sauce,my back side.Rice, overcooked to mush.Side salad,a bit on the wilted side,mint yoghurt a bit 'strong'.Theye really have changed, unfortunately for the worse.Never again.Have wasted half of my evening waiting for the crap to be prepared and than the rest of it to return it.Do not be fooled by those 4,5 stars.0,5 and still overrated.

I come here regularly and it is always fantastic. The waiters are always really efficient and real gentleman opening doors and pulling chairs out for you. There is so much to choose from on the menu and everything I have ordered from there has been delicious. Would always recommend and am definitely going to continue to come here for Indian food.
