We love this restaurant and eat there regularly

Appears to have been taken over by new owners and gone massively downhill :(

We have been taking our Disabled son for years. They are very good with him and we always enjoy our visits.

Appayon is consistently fantastic. I regularly have take aways and occasionally eat in. I’ve never had a poor experience. Always friendly staff and the Currys taste delicious. I would happily recommend this restaurant as being one of the finest curry restaurants around. Thank you Appayon.

Really good first experience of Appayon! Ordered on Deliveroo, and the masala sauce was exceptional! So flavoursome and tasty; really nice to see an Indian restaurant making an effort with This dish as it can be so overlooked. All the sundries were really nice too.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We arrive and waited 10 minutes to been seen to. We had pre booked our table. We were then seated upstairs and can say we were forgotten about. It took then a further 20 mins from being seated to have our initial drinks order taken. We ordered all our food with our first drinks as we knew they were busy/short staffed. We then waited an hour for our starters to come. 2 hours for my wrong main course to come. At this point I refused to eat or wait anymore. The rest of the party ate and when I refused to pay full price they got augmentative and quite intimidating. We settled on a price that was still too much for what I actually ate. Also a couple of the staff had food stained shirts and poorly dressed.

Ordered a takeaway as a first as a family. Really disappointing as we’d previously eaten in the restaurant and had takeaway before. The food was really late for a start. We were missing half our ordered and paid for poppadoms. Mainly though the food was poor and all very very bright colours. Needless to say, our children didn’t like their first taste of Indian food.

High standards here, excellent & on all fronts, a superb restaurant. . . I would recommend, was surprised they did not stock "King Cobra" this is the premium version of Cobra, served in a corked bottle, it'd suit this standard of establishment & make business sense too!?

Good food. Awful service. Expect a rant below in response as to why we were wrong and they were right - we got the same on the phone 🙄 Spent £25 on food that was never received. No refund or discounts. Confrontational & unapologetic.

Really looked forward to this based on reviews.. Sadly the tandoori mixed grill felt like it was from last week and had been reheated a few times.. the lamb was rock hard and everything else was dried out. .. sorry but sadly disappointed

We’ve been here lots of times, the staff are always very friendly and helpful and we’ve never had a bad meal yet, the food is always very tasty. There are quite a few tables including a few that are booth style. Toilets are upstairs, 2 medium sized flights of stairs and there’s also a small parking area at the side of it and about 3 spaces in front. Would highly recommend.

Our family of 7 have just left Appayon Indian Restaurant in Poynton. Such a busy restaurant for Christmas day. Yet the service was quick, friendly, and professional . And the food was undoubtedly delivered by a team of friendly, approachable staff. They worked hard to make our Christmas day special, and their friendliness, helpfulness, and energy made it a wonderful family Christmas meal. We can't thank them enough. As for the chef and his kitchen team, they delivered hot, fresh, and fabulous food that everyone enjoyed and loved. Thank you

Very nice indeed 1 of the best curries ive had in a while.

We found this place quite recently and it really is so tasty! We got food delivered tonight and you really can taste every spice used! Samosas incredible too! Chicken tikka and lamb in the curries so tender. Thank you 😊

Chose here for a mid-week catch up with mates and didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and attentive (even if they thought we were talking about football when it was rugby) without being over bearing. Clearly I can only comment on my meal which was the chef special garlic butter chicken which was exceptional. All 6 of us had different main courses with no complaints and lots of empty plates. Finished off with the traditional free chocolate and shot of Baileys you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for money curry in the area.

Beautiful food, visited on a Friday too after this review and atmosphere was much better.

Great food and great service can't fault this place

Always a fab place to eat. Staff are like family and we are well looked after. Never ever had a less than really good meal there.

Not had a takeout from here in a while, but deff didnt disappoint. Will be back.

I like the menu. There is a good mix. You don't have to spend loads if you dont want to. Good veggie selection. Saag paneer recommend.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. My wife and I were on a very strict time frame and the staff could not have been more helpful. Even though the food was quick there was no compromise on quality at all. Lovely fresh ingredients and lovely tasting food. Thank you very much, we will definitely be returning.

Normally I really enjoy coming here, as the food is really nice, but last time we came as a family (with young children) they didn't seem to want us there, even though it wasn't busy. They made us wait for ages, even though the place was empty, and when we kept asking if they had a table ready they kept ignoring us. We went to Thali instead who were great. Sadly won't be coming back to appayon based on that poor experience.

Food is tasty but could have more depth of flavour to rival nearby Indians. Had a few curries seems pretty consistent. Otherwise very good.

Undercooked chips. How can the same curry be so different one night to the next. Awful watery Bhuna with no sauce. Very disappointing

Just love this restaurant. A fabulous take away every time and fantastic atmosphere to eat in. Staff are always really helpful and the food is faultless. It can take a while for delivery during busy periods but it's nice to collect and have a drink while you wait

Food was not the best but service was good

Just come home after trying for the first time. Tried the tasty fish £13 something. Sadly no flavour at all. Told the waiter and was told it was his first day and sorry. Mmm, will not be going back. On the positive, the starters were lovely

We've been here a few times before and has always been good but visited last night and it's even better! The saag rice was like nothing I've ever tried before, Paneer Alwa was so flavoursome and juicy and my hubby loved his Chilli Chicken Balti. Best curry house in the area.

Really very slow service unfortunately, seemed like they were prioritising takeaways which is understandable but annoying for those sitting waiting. Also looks like it's going through a refurbishment as there were stepladders and decorating stuff knocking about.

Had Chicken afghani it was very good, place was clean and following the rules. Staff polite and friendly, enjoy the visit.

Fantastic curry. Decent service. The lamb balti is the nicest Ive had. Beautiful. Will happily travel out of Wilmslow to have this curry.

Booked for NYE, place was 20 people deep at entrance. We decided to cancel as would probably have been fed in 2020, instead of 2019. Have dined before, but It was chaos on NYE!

I have been a regular customer at appayon for a long time .... Not had a complaint but the odd time they missed out items from my order ....but tonight complained to the restraunt manager that the potatoes in the Bombay aloo were hard and to be honest spoiled the whole meal .... His answer was what do you want me to do about it ....my answer was never going back there.... My advice don't eat there because if you have a problem ......they don't want to know .......

I eat here 6 or 8 times a year, with many take aways in between. The staff are welcoming and the food is constantly very good. Check out the range of fish curries. I ve tried most of them and they are excellent. They have draught Cobra and a wide choice of bottles and spirits. The seating makes you feel part of what is going on, while at the same time giving you some sense of privacy. I suppose what I m saying is, the tables are not too close. I ve never had a bad meal at Appayon. Sometimes, when they are busy, there can be a wait. But this time is best spent drinking Cobra and nibbling poppadoms!

Great Indian restaurant, fab service

Booked a table for 10 people, service was very slow and staff very rude and unenthusiastic. Once seated at our table the waiter wondered off rather than taking a drinks order. We then had to ask a waiter to take a drinks order after waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. We then ordered our starters and had to wait around 45 minutes for this. They brought out the wrong starters for about half the table and had no idea who was having what. The mains then came. Once again they brought the wrong food. When my sister told them she hadn’t ordered what she was given the waiter then argued with her and told her she was wrong for around 5 minutes after being reminded who was paying by another member of our party he grudgingly brought out the right dish. This place was the worst curry house I’ve ever been to and deserves to be closed down. You couldn’t pay me to eat with them rude waiters again. I’d leave a zero if possible.

Slow service and waiter got the order wrong, he was also very rude to me. The food however was very nice and they discounted the cost of my meal after my aunt complained.

Love it.. One of my favourite places to go for a "proper" curry that isn't just a standard base with extra spicing.. Every dish tastes and looks different and I happily travel over 10 miles to come here even if just for a takeaway.. Keep it up Appayon

food good but rushed by waiters. took my plate before id finished. then argued that they werent rushing me.
