Was disappointed with the last place on the high street I got a takeaway curry from, so thought I’d give this restaurant a try. Pleased I did as it was delicious. Bhajis were really crisp and fresh. We had a bhuna and a balti, and whilst the sauce seemed to be the same, there was a subtle difference between the two in terms of flavour. Gorgeous nan bread - best I’ve had in ages. Promptly delivered (direct from the restaurant). Will definitely be back.

Highly recommend the Takdir. We have visited this well run, long standing family establishment several times, over many years, and are never left disappointed. The staff are continuously genial and attentive; the food is always lovely and never lets down, authentic homemade curries, washed down with Cobra or nice wines. Special thanks to Aayan; a confident, approachable, and friendly waiter, with a great personality, and like all staff, happy to help, with a smile on their face. Whitley Bay is spoilt with a plethora of outstanding curry houses, and Takdir is definitely high up the list to go too.

I’ve loved Bangladeshi food for most of my life. I grew up on it, I’ve tried so many places and never had such a consistent and wonderful experience as I have going to Ahar. Fiz the owner is a superb host and the restaurant is a warm and welcoming place, for solo visits or with friends and family. I’ve never had a meal that wasn’t brilliant here but tonight I think I reached Valhalla. The lamb mustard bhuna might just be the best curry I’ve ever eaten. The difference with Ahar is in the details. Authentic food, real charcoal tandoor oven and the best ingredients. Why are you wasting your time going anywhere else, this should be your only port of call.

Namaste has moved to Royal Quays outlet. No longer in Whitley Bay! Not a lot more to say but need to write more before it can be accepted by TripAdviser

First time of going after moving to Tynemouth recently. Food was quite bland actually. We had a Tika Masala which was pretty good, but everything else, including the Bhuna was flavourless. Portions were ok. 4 pieces of chicken in a lot of sauce to fill the bowl - otherwise it would have looked quite empty. Waitresses got our order wrong twice. Bill was also wrong. Not a great experience. Value for money was ok though as we went before 6:30 when they had an early bird menu.
