This is an outstanding restaurant. Every dish has such a depth of flavour and authenticity. The team are so attentive and friendly. It’s deservingly busy but the service is uncompromisingly fast and the food is always hot. Having tried a lot of curries, Zamorin’s is definitely one of the North East’s most refined. We have brought our son here since he was 2 weeks old, and yesterday we celebrated his 2nd birthday at Zamorin’s; they really went the extra mile to make the evening special, and our families were so impressed and appreciative.

We've been here once before for takeaway and previously everything has been perfect, however today was really, really disappointing. My girlfriend picked up the food and as she was waiting one of the men said to the girl by the phone, "what's she doing here?". This seemed pretty rude and made her feel uncomfortable. Then we opened up the food at home and realized we didn't get the Korma that we ordered (pictured). It was a weird tomato dish that tastes like Heinz Tomato Soup. The chips and naan bread were soggy. I got the Nadan Beef Kootan which was also not nice at all. The beef was super tough and dry - wouldn't recommend. All in all, in wasn't worth the £30 we paid! We called and they said they would drop off another Korma however this took around 40 minutes. When we did get the new Korma, it was exactly the same! Some weird Tomato soup dish. I won't be returning.

We recently had a fantastic evening there with friends and were thoroughly impressed. If you're searching for a truly Kerala-inspired dining experience in Newcastle, look no further. Zamorins offers a menu packed with traditional dishes that are both flavorful and authentic. We were particularly blown away by their Kerala-style beef curry and pork, which were incredibly tender and full of rich spices. We also enjoyed the authentic Kerala porotta. Highly recommend Zamorins to anyone looking for a memorable and delicious dining experience.

When it comes to culinary masterpieces, few dishes can match the allure and satisfaction of a well-prepared lamb curry. Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing what can only be described as the pinnacle of this classic dish, and it left an indelible mark on my taste buds. From the moment the dish arrived, its aromatic promise was undeniable. The rich, savory scent of spices wafted through the air, instantly awakening my senses and building anticipation. The presentation was equally inviting: tender chunks of lamb bathed in a vibrant, velvety sauce, garnished with fresh cilantro and accompanied by a side of fluffy pilau rice. The first bite was nothing short of revelatory. The lamb was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth. It was clear that it had been slow-cooked to perfection, allowing the flavors to penetrate deeply into the meat. The curry sauce was a symphony of spices, expertly balanced to create a harmonious blend of heat, sweetness, and earthiness. Each spoonful revealed layers of complexity, with hints of cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala dancing together in perfect harmony. What truly set this lamb curry apart was its depth of flavor. The chefs had evidently taken great care in crafting a sauce that was both robust and nuanced. The inclusion of caramelized onions and garlic provided a rich base, while a touch of yogurt added creaminess without overwhelming the spice. A subtle hint of tomato lent a slight tang, cutting through the richness and ensuring each bite was as refreshing as it was indulgent. Paired with the perfectly cooked pilau rice, each mouthful was a delightful journey. The rice absorbed the curry's essence, providing a wonderful textural contrast to the succulent lamb. In conclusion, this lamb curry was an exquisite delight, a true testament to the art of Indian cuisine. It's a dish that beckons you back, promising a dining experience that is both comforting and exhilarating. Whether you are a curry aficionado or a newcomer, this lamb curry is a must-try, offering a flavorful escape that lingers long after the last bite.

Actually pretty disappointed. Ordered delivery and was attracted by the good reviews of the food. The food is very expensive so we were expecting the standard to be high. We ordered the Goan Monkfish curry and a chicken curry. While they were ok, nothing to rave about. Just some chunks of meat/fish in a sauce. No vegetables or other textures. No real depth of flavour to either. The monkfish dish was £17! Rice portion is a small tub. It seems overpriced at £3.50. The garlic naan was rubbish. Just a round, tasteless flatbread that I would guess comes to restaurant frozen. I could have bought similar from supermarket. In summary it is overpriced and underwhelming/poor. Gave 5 star for service as estimated delivery was 40 mins and only took 25. 2 stars for food as monkfish itself and chicken were cooked well.

We would like to thank all of you at Zamorins for making our daughter’s first birthday very special. We liaised with Nebu beforehand to make arrangements for the party and he was very helpful. Although Nebu was on leave on the party day, he reassured us that things would go to plan and he was right. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We felt very well supported by Biju, Simon, Jaggu and by everyone at Zamorins who helped us throughout the evening with everything required for the party. This included putting up the decorations and cutting the cake. The pretty personalised set menu card that was made for the party and that was laid out under the napkin of every guest was a very lovely touch. All of the guests were attended to throughout by staff and were made to feel welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm and very inviting. Ordered takeaway tonight from here for the first time and just wanted to say a big thank you! Really appreciated the vegetarian options offered, a nice mix of different possibilities with various proteins rather than just a curry without the meat. The food came really quickly and the delivery driver was very polite. I went for the palak paneer and it was super tasty! Luscious and creamy (but not sickly) with a deep multi layered flavour and big chunks of delicious paneer. The cauliflower starter was also so yummy with lots of different spices and perfectly cooked. Not as big portions as other places but there's usually far too much food so this was spot on for me. Would have preferred a full samosa. In the restaurant fresh this probably works, but not for takeaway - makes the pastry soggy. The main was fine. Not amazing, but fine. The naan however was poor. I want to say up front, we were really looking forward to this. My wife & I booked for 19:30Hrs on Friday 6th May 2022. After turning up on time we were sat in a booth and left for 10mins with no menus. The restaurant was half full, not too busy. When they did come come back for the drinks order (1 x Pint Kingfisher & 1x Coke) we had to ask for a menu. I asked the server what they would recommend, I was told "the chef recommendations have a gold star on the menu" -That is not what I asked, I asked what YOU recommend, seemed like a brush off answer. For starters we had Onion Bhaji, 3 small Bhaji with garnish and mint yogurt, nice but small. Also Chicken Tikka Duo which was spiced very well but very dry. Almost chalky. We did mention when they cleared the plates and were told "I'll let the chef know". Nothing happen from this.Mains were Butter chicken. This was red (more like a Masala) and very sweet. Like they used a tin of Campbell s Condensed Tomato soup. Also a Special Beef (Knoonton?). This was very much a Greek Beef Stifado with more chilli. Started nice then got overpowering with the cinnamon & spice taste. Have to say if I wanted a Greek dish, I would of gone to a Greek restaurant. It came t £60, which I do not think is worth it.Really wanted to like this place, we didn't, we will not be back.

We recently had a lovely meal at Zamorins. The place is a great find, with an excellent menu and a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely and welcoming and I would highly recommend the restaurant.

My Wife booked this place for our normal Saturday evening meal out, we usually head for our favourite Indian restaurant (Saji's) however we decided to try something a little different, after reading all of the positive reviews I was so much looking forward to a lovely evening. We arrived early and were shown straight to our table, we ordered a bottle of wine whilst we went over the menu, though the food was a little different to our normal Indian Fayre I really wanted this to be an amazing experience. We order the Pickle tray with poppadum's & "Hot"lemon pickle which we really liked, we skipped starters and I order a Chicken Madrasi and my wife ordered the Chuttuli Fish on Kallapam, accompanied with Mushroom Pulao & Chilli & Garlic Chips, My wife really enjoyed the fish however I thought that my dish was really overpowered by the tomato taste , I really thought it would have been more like a Madras given it was rated as 3 Chilli hot, the rice was average and the Chilli & Garlic chips were Triple cooked chips with seasoning sprinkled over them, we usually go for Spicy chips at our favourite Indian Restaurant and they are on a complete different level.I fully understand the concept that this place is trying to achieve however I feel that we were trying to compare this place with our favourite Indian restaurant and to be fair you will have to go a long way to beat Fantastic authentic Punjabi food.

Despite sending 2 emails to remind me that they would only keep the table for 15 minutes after the booking, they didn't seem to have a table for us.We were seated, given drinks, then waited for over an hour for our food, despite sitting next to where the food leaves the kitchen. When we finally queried where our food was, it arrived suspiciously quick, I've a feeling it had been sitting for a while. My friends enjoyed their currys, but unfortunately the 3 pieces of chicken in my Madrass were burnt around the edges and dry throughout. Add a burnt, thin and almost peshwary free nann bread, and I was really disappointed. We were never asked I'd we wanted another drink after the first, and the table next to us was having similar problems. All in, this was a poor meal with poor service. I wonder if this restaurant is resting on the fact its in a popular location without putting the effort in. As my primary school teacher was fond of saying, "much try harder".

We were staying in Holystone and visited here on Sunday night after reading great reviews. We weren't disappointed. Such a lovely meal, in fact probably the best Indian meal we've ever had. Thank you.

Was disappointed with the last place on the high street I got a takeaway curry from, so thought I’d give this restaurant a try. Pleased I did as it was delicious. Bhajis were really crisp and fresh. We had a bhuna and a balti, and whilst the sauce seemed to be the same, there was a subtle difference between the two in terms of flavour. Gorgeous nan bread - best I’ve had in ages. Promptly delivered (direct from the restaurant). Will definitely be back.

Amazing great food, 4 different plates, 4 different flavours. Kind people who explain everthing, about the flavours. It,s a recommander for those who love Spice food. Very good
