So nice all cooked fresh had lots of choice I am a regular here as I have tried many different places but this is the best one around all so tasty thank you

really disappointed with our meals tonight, both curries were very tasteless, in particular the Kathi Balti as it's usually full of flavor and chillis but none tonight! the rice tasted soapy, but the naan bread was great!

As always perfect, my entire family has been coming here since it opened decades ago (we drove miles) and the food has never stopped being fresh and delicious with good portions. I can’t rate this place enough and I never can be bothered to leave reviews but had too 10/10 Thank you

Large portions and great quality food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had poppdaoms, three starters, three main courses, plus drinks and felt it was very reasonably priced. Recommended if you fancy a curry!

Ordered an nawabi special which stated as a mild. Felt like a madras spice level. Personally like spice but for others that don’t, was way hotter than stated. Meat and taste was good.

Punjabi chips are fantastic as is everything from here

Absolutely the best rice I’ve had in years, the curry wasn’t too hot for a vindaloo thankfully and the prawn starter was pretty good too. Will definitely recommend

Our order was delivered on time, as it always it, it was piping hot and absolutely delicious. We've ordered many times for Rakhi and never been disappointed. The delivery guys are always very polite too!

Just ordered a takeaway from here to my hotel room and had their Thursday deal. Let me tell you the value for money and the food was 10/10, absolutely fantastic food and came piping hot. Would 100% recommend, its a shame I live in Sheffield otherwise it'd be my new regular

We visited this Restaurant last night when we were staying overnight in the area. The food was delicious and the staff could not have been more helpful. They were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this venue and if we are ever in the area we will definitely be returning. Just one regret, that we didn't take a meal away with us

Takeaway on a recommendation, first order, outstanding food!

The food was lovely although my husband said the onion bhajis were really hard. We hope this is an isolated incident as we have used this takeaway quite a few times and would use them again.

Absolutely superb - we have been lucky enough to eat in some of the finest Indian restuarants in London and in india and this was fantastic but at a fraction of the price. We enjoyed every dish on our Birthday celebration

Vegetable pakora was not pleasant at all, flat dry and tasteless very unusual texture. The whole meal was a let down.

This was the 4th time I’ve ordered from here, I would certainly eat there again but I can’t deny I’m not as impressed as I was the 1st and 2nd time.

I can't reccomend these guys enough - never had a bad order and food is always delivered on time. The food is absolutely beautiful - totally unreal I cannot even adequately describe how lush the food from this place is. The staff are always lovely and accommodating. Mint take away

I think some of the reviews have exaggerated slightly this was a pretty normal Indian restaurant serving a good choices of dishes. The restaurant itself wasn't particularly welcoming very tatty exterior and inside lacks decoration or much atmosphere. Not helped by one of the waiters who really didn't want to smile. Food was saved a bit slow but was hot and fresh. Dishes were ok but if I'm being critical a little oily and it's the first time I've had to add my own seasoning to Indian food. Prices were pretty standard perhaps slightly high I've paid less for an Indian meal in London, but they did have set dinners which were better value. I would recommend this restaurant it was okay but it's probably similar to others nearer Newcastle.

Ordered to be delivered for 7pm at 4.30pm. Order came at 7.50 and was cold. My daughter barely touched hers. Very disappointing

Excellent quality takeaway as always. Starter of onion baji, large and crispy with delicious mint yogurt which we shared, for mains we had chicken tikka jalferezi which was very very tasty, gorgeous chunks of white chicken breast which melted in the mouth, peppers and onions in a perfectly spicy sauce Chicken tikka dhansak, sweet and sour with lentils and absolutely mouthwatering. We shared a vegetable pilau rice and a plain naan with popadoms. Could not fault this generously portioned takeaway and we will continue to support this restaurant. The staff are always super friendly.

Ordered chicken badami, nice taste, supposed to be made with whole cashew nuts, whoops none found, so it may have been a korma.

We’re a regular customer here, but the food wasn’t as good as it usually is, took longer than usual to arrive, and we paid for 2 poppadoms that didn’t arrive. Disappointing.

Stood outside Hotel on several occasions in freezing cold weather ,eventually after waiting 45 mins for meal phoned restaraunt and was abruptly told to hang on while he seemed to be away for ages then returned to ‘it should be there in around 5-6 mins !,another 15 mins past when it finally arrived delivered by someone who quite frankly looked like a down and out !,no apology or explanation ,Then tried to keep a hold of the receipt which I specifically stated on order I needed !!, in fact it was the only thing I stated .Never again ,disgusting social skills and very rude.Such a pity as the food was actually very tasty ,tho not as hot as it might have been .👎

Love this place but tonight delivery was very late, delivery person apologied and offered to have the order refunded which was good, the food was hot and good so won't do that but not happy about the delivery time

Great quality food and exceptional service. We were missing a pilau rice rang the restaurant and they couldn’t of been more helpful. Rice came about half hour after delivery but kept mains warm in oven and didn’t spoil food at all. 5/5

Only ever had takeaways from here but will definitely make the effort to visit the restaurant one day, the food is gorgeous. Never had one bad meal, always arrives piping hot and very quickly. Our new favourite!

Didn’t deliver the food, didn’t phone to say they wouldn’t be… when I called two hours after placing the order, they simply said the driver couldn’t the house - had to claim a refund through JustEat…

One of the finest Indian restaurants in Newcastle and food is persist every time. If you like a madras curry then try shahe tukra you won’t be disappointed at all

Although my order came very late due to a wrong delivery address, it was hot and great. Special mention to the little old fella that got it wrong and couldn’t apologise enough. A credit to your business and pass on my thanks and not to worry about it.

Loads of tasty chicken in the shashlik and the onion rice was delicious. Came on time on a Saturday night and we only ordered it about an hour before. Very tasty thanks.

Food had been smashed around during delivery. By the time we got it, everything was mixed together in a greasy slop at the bottom of the bag. The messiest takeaway we've had in a long time. Food smelled great, but genuinely looked like someone had punched it into the bag. Restaurant did offer to send a replacement, but I wasn't willing to wait another hour for delivery.

Usually our go to Indians. Todays was cold, watery and lacking flavour. Really disappointed. Nann bread was stale and had no filling,

So tasty! Will definitely be returning!

9.5/10 - it was all amazing. Unreal chicken. So juicy and fell apart in your mouth unlike other Indian restaurants I’ve been to - will definitely order again. My only bad point was the tiny, flimsy poppadom. So small!!

We have always had an excellent meal at Rakhi but tonight’s was outstanding. When we go home to Yorkshire we always make sure we have a Bradford curry but The Rakhi is definitely taking over.
