Great food and Sunday Thursday best days to go

Popped in on a Saturday evening after finding our 1st choice was fully booked. I'm glad we did go as the food was excellent. Big portions and a huge peshwari nann side. Price was competitive and service prompt and friendly. Cobra was on draught, which is a nice change from the usual Carlings, Coors, etc. Still got to work our way through the opposition but thumbs up for this venue.

Took my family to the Whitley Bay Tandoori restaurant last night and they all loved it and would definitely return, we all complimented how delicious the food was, we had a lovely night. Amed and staff were great. I often go with my friends and we all love it, x

We go back to this Indian restaurant each time we come to Whitley Bay. The food is excellent, extremely tasty and well presented. It's a little gem. Well worth a visit, very varied menu. The staff are helpful and considerate. We have always enjoyed our visits here. Thank you.

Extremely tasty food, I had all the garlic specials. Chapattis were fresh & soft. Cobra on tap. Extensive menu with lots of dishes I hadn't seen before. Service was spot on. Music varied from my preferred trad Asian music to some iffy rap stuff. Wd definitely go again.

Ordered meal came cold. Food quality is shocking dont know if Cheif has changed. Wont be using them again. Plus cost has escalated

Got a takeaway, lamb was out of this world. Words can’t describe how good the curry was, but numbers can and it was 10/10. Lovely food and brilliant staff. Young man (sarwar I believe his name was) is a credit to your place.

Ordered food online via their website but there wasn't an allergy section to inform of Gluten free needs so we rang to confirm and the conversation we had was unreal! A poor young lad who was clearly struggling couldn't get the correct gluten free information from the kitchen staff. At first all contained gluten then the young lad on phone was expected to relay what was and what wasn't gluten free which was way beyond his capabilities, not his fault at all, the shouting from the background was ridiculous and unorganised! Allergy information should be instantly accessible by law (Natasha's Law Oct 2021) appalling service. Cancelled order

Don't let the flashy lights and facades of the other places draw you in! This place had great food with big portion sizes for the price and very good hospitality. A food hygiene rating of 5 as opposed to the flashy places with only 3's! Great vegetarian and vegan options as well as meat courses. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the area.

Yes this was my 1st time to eat there...l went with friend's and really enjoyed the food and the place its self... Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean .. We will definitely be going again.. 1st Class..

I ate here in August 2021. Most of the customers in this restaurant are locals who come here regularly. That's very different to the ones at the seafront that rely on tourists and day-trippers. My veg jalfrezi was excellent, with a rich mix of flavours. Friendly staff. Very highly recommended.

100% recommended! We stumbled upon this place whilst up from London visiting a nearby holiday park. We fancied an Indian meal and chose this place from a choice of several in the immediate vicinity. Following lockdown, the restaurant has been fully refurbished inside and it looks delightful! When speaking with the manager, it was interesting to learn his family decorated the ceiling and some of the finishing touches were handcrafted by the boss himself! Staff were very friendly, attentive, and good conversationists! They seemed to enjoy and feel proud working there. Onto the menu and food...well, what can I say! The choice was huge and there were several dishes I have never seen or heard of before. I choose a podina which has fresh mint, coriander and lemon juice as part of the ingredient line up, and delicious it was, with all of the ingredients being tasted individually too I.e. exactly as described! It was great choosing something different, and the majority of dishes could be made with a choice of meat, seafood or vegetables. So, if you are vegetarian, you will have a massive choice of dishes to choose from! Thank you for the mini dessert too! Do not hesitate to visit - you will not be disappointed! And they have made a huge effort to get the business back up and running since lockdown! :-)

Been in this restaurant on many occasions and the food is of a very high standard I have a choice of 4 Indian restaurants where I live but prefer to travel down to Whitley bay to eat here the staff value your custom and give you a warm welcome on arrival so looking forward to when the restaurant can reopen but in the meantime I will continue to use Whitley bay tandoori for takeaway food

Every few months we hire the whole place out. They serve and manage a large crowd really well. The food is pretty good too. Would be nice of they had a cider on tap but plenty of bottle selection.

Delicious food, much better than other Indian cuisine available in whitley bay. The restaurant is a little tired looking and could do with a bit of a makeover although it's always spotlessly clean. Staff are very nice, always make you feel very welcome and can't do enough for you. Will keep going here. Great food offers on too, you get a five course meal for £11.95 on Thursday and Sunday.

Visited Whitley Tandoori this evening for the first time. Having a handful of descent Indian restaurants in our area we like to venture out and give others a chance. Whitley Tandoori was definitely worth the travel and will definitely be back. Myself and partner both picked from the chef's recommendations and both very happy with the taste and quality of our dishes. The service was friendly and waiter very knowledgeable on given advice on different dishes. Don't let the tired decor put you off as the food is to high standards. Would highly recommend.

We often used this establishment for family occasions but sadly they have now closed down - The premisses have been re-opened by another business - sadly we used this once and were overcharged by £5 when we tried to get this rectified the manager would not correct the overcharge - we won't go back to this place anymore!

This restaurant always served good food in a friendly placed but closed about one year ago. It has been replaced by the Shukran which is excellent and well recommended.

Went with the extended family whilst staying in Whitley Bay. My Son in law recommended it for a Saturday night curry. Great stuff and really friendly staff.

En primer lugar, he estado visitando La Romna desde que era un adolescente (hace muchos Moons) pero esta era mi primera vez durante unos 8 años y tengo que decir que estaba encantado de volver. Mi esposa y yo fuimos temprano el sábado por la noche para celebrar nuestro aniversario de boda y nos lo pasamos de maravilla. Magnífica comida y buen servicio en general. Los popadoms y encurtidos gratuitos al llegar fue un detalle añadido también. Lo que también fue realmente genial era que había una gran asiática/fiesta hindú de unos 20+ personas comiendo allí también. /adultos/abuelos de niños, el aparcamiento. Le hice en el sentido de que si se había elegido para comer allí, tiene que ser bueno, porque estaba claro que no estaban afiliado al personal de cualquier forma, hay un montón de restaurantes indios/Bangladesh en Whitley Bay para elegir. en general lo pasamos estupendamente con comida encantadora, un entorno agradable y personal agradable y atento. volveremos!

Good food, very friendly and the food was very good. The Dansak was very good & washed down with a lovely ice ciold Cobra beer.

My mates & l visit this restaurant about once a month & have been for a few years now.Having now been back in the original owners hands now for a few months now you are always met with smile & nothing is no problem to them. Every thursday & sunday is specials night where for £9.95 you can have a 5 course meal which is fantastic value i have to start the house mixed meat kebab with the best onion bhaji i have ever tasted followed by south indian chilli garlic with lamb & keema rice ( beautiful ) and there is your ice cream to finish off with oh i forgot the pickles with the popadoms the drinks are sensible prices will always eat here.
