Very quick service and good quality food

Me and my family had ordered a take out tonight for mothers day obviously when it had arrived mine and my mams food was just leaking all over in the bag. Cartons had split so we rang them didn't even apologise no sorry just said we'll send more out on about 10-15 minutes took them about 25 minutes or so food was nice don't get me wrong but I was disgusted when I had seen in the bag.

Visited tonight for the first time. Didn't have a reservation but they found us a seat within about 5 minutes. The food was outstanding. The staff curry was legendary. The service was top notch and the place was buzzing. We loved that there were folks of all ages enjoying meals. No wonder they keep winning awards. Shampan is legitimately outstanding.

Just Eat updated after 45 mins to say the food had been picked up. 30 mins later it had not been delivered, 2 miles from the restaurant. Ended up getting the food another 20 mins later. >90 mins for delivery. When the food finally turns up, one of the boxes had been crushed and was leaking all over the bag. Have put in a complaint to Just Eat and 4 days later am just being ignored. Ultimately the food wasn’t even good. Terrible experience, would recommend avoiding.

First time I’ve ordered from Shahenshah and it certainly won’t be the last! Ordered the chicken kurma and it was absolutely delicious. Delivered on time by a really smiley, courteous driver. A really first class service!

The restaurant messaged to let me know the order was running late. The food was very tasty and was hot. Very happy even with it being a bit late, but it is hard to deliver every meal on time.

Food was stone cold, portions were absolutely abysmal and quality was 4/10. Would not recommend whatsoever.

Can tell this is the last remaining restaurant in Whitley bay that is using its original Chef! This is how curry’s should taste! Easily the best in the area and I’ve tried them all!

One of the worst curries I've ever had. Everything tasted like bought out curry sauces with a bit of coriander on top. And it arrived pretty much cold... The service was really slow and disengaged. Absolute waste of money. Would avoid at all cost. I've had better take away than that.

Food good but the poppadoms were missing.

Order was slightly late, onions bahjis had gone soggy, recommend not putting the puri in the bhuna prawn container as it turned to mush not nice to eat, mains made up for the poor starters

A nice meal here with friendly staff, great food and a nice vibe! All the food was tasty and I really enjoyed it- the only thing that wasn’t great was the lentil dahl, wouldn’t have that again, no flavour and too soupy, but otherwise an excellent meal! Thank you 🍛

Vindaloo had flavour and not just heat. Chicken tikka pelau rice was tasty and the Special Nan Bread was spot on.

Terrible delivery, informed order had been despatched, called the restaurant as it had been over half an hour they said the order had just been despatched. After over 10 minutes on hold to the restaurant all I got was, driver is on the way there's not much else to it. Empty promise of complimentary meal next time I call and order. Used to highly rate shahenshah, will not be returning after this shambles

This restaurant is the jewel in the crown of the many Indian restaurants in this area. The same chef has been producing outstanding cuisine from when the restaurant first opened and there are some real hidden gems on the menu. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended on food, price and welcome.

Food arrived at 7.50pm after estimated 7.05 delivery time. Food that had arrived was cold, and was also missing the sundries for all three meals from the order.

We have ordered food a number of times from this restaurant and it’s always been good in all respects but tonight the food was cold and late the onion bahgee was awful stone cold and unpleasant to eat We won’t be ordering again sadly

This was our first meal from Shahensha and it was great restaurant quality food. Very good delivery time on a busy Friday night. We will definitely be ordering again.

We had a wonderful takeaway last night. So delicious and not greasy at all like many we have had. I would strongly recommend.

Most of the food was Luke warm by the time we received it. Missing salad and mint sauce with the tandoori cocktail and missing poppadoms. This certainly isn’t the usual standard at all, disappointing.

Disappointed. Rice, salad and bread; all good. Chicken tikka was fresh and good also. The sauce however tasted full of dry spices. And the chicken chaat starter was like a jam chutney. Not a fan.

These lads make the best scran anywhere and there hospitality is 12 out of ten. Ask what they recommend and go for there chefs specials, second to none the best take out and dine in experience in Whitley bay - potentially the north east - maybe the country

One of the meal requirements in England is to eat authentic Imperial Indian food. You will not be disappointed at all! My friend had the Lamb stew, I had a chicken. For appetizers meat samosa in one of the best sauce, I have ever had. We had a potato Nan, and a fruit and nut Nan .

Amazing food!! Definitely will order again.
