The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

It took 2 hours from placing the order to it arriving, and all of it was cold and had to be microwaved. The food itself had nice flavours though, so no issues there.

I don't leave bad reviews, I am always as fair as I can be and give businesses every opportunity to make things right, but Bombay Butler wasn't interested once they had my money. My Bombay Byriani arrived with no lamb inside and 3 tiny pieces of chicken. It was also cold. I rang them and explained calmly that I didn't receive what I ordered. They said, no worries, come in and we'll sort it out. I explained I was at the airport with no means to get to them. They said, well there is nothing we can do and hung up. Here's a little tip. You could have delivered me a lamb skewer. I was 2 miles away. It would have cost your business £10 to put right. You already had £17 of my money. If you want a successful business, it is moments like that which make the difference. Karma is real. You might also want to improve the quality of your mango chutney, it looked the colour of something that came out of Chernobyl. However, I doubt you will do that because the boss is obviously more interested in short term bean-counting than long term profitability. Good luck Bombay Butler, with that guy at the helm you are gonna need it

This place has really gone downhill. It always used to be our favourite local takeaway but we will now need to find another. The Dahl was watery, the korma which I chose for my children as it is usually very mild was spicy, even I found it spicy. Such a shame but they must have changed the chef or something

Delicious food as always; have ordered lots of times from Taj Mahal now and every time it’s been brilliant. The restaurant itself is also lovely, great friendly atmosphere and they really care about the food. Best in Leigh by far!

We were a group of 7 and all ordered different mains and various side. All food served was very nice indeed, Will definitely be going back.

Ocean Gate will now be our go to Indian cuisine take away. Very impressed with the quality and freshness of the food and they always tuck an extra poppadom in the bag. My kind of service. Thank you 🙏

Really lovely restaurant, great food and tasty cocktails. Had a strawberry daiquiri which resembled something from London! Chilli cheese toast was unreal! Thanks Adnan again, you’re a great host and probably the hardest worker in Thorpe Bay!
