Indian Ocean in Mid Suffolk

Booked around a week in advance on their website for Valentine’s Day. Had email confirmation around 3 times since I booked, to confirm that the booking had been accepted, only for them to call me around 45 mins before I was due to be at the restaurant to say that they accepted the booking by mistake and that they have no tables now. Useless service really.. they should have either declined the booking straight away when I initially tried to book, or, if they can’t keep up with website bookings, take that service off their website. Either way, I would not recommend and am unlikely to attempt to book or use their take away service again.

Ordered at 6.45, food supposed to arrive between 7.30-8pm. Manager called to say there was a medical emergency with the chef so would be an hours delay - fine. After calling was told it was around the corner and 5 mins away (It is about a 20min drive from the restaurant to our house.) 35 mins later still not here called again and told it was on its way. Then repeatedly told “you are quite far away” which seems like it’s not been cooked at all. Refused refund. 3 hours + is NOT acceptable.

The best Indian food around Ipswich. The food was fantastic, and I loved the portion size. I would be happier if the portions contained more chicken, but that's beside the point. I would recommend anyone try Garlic and Coriander Naan and chicken pakora as starters. It is also really well-priced. Also, the staff is so friendly and helpful. I recommend this restaurant.

The owner of this business is far from honest his involved in more shadey goings on than a little his friend lives upstairs from my flat, his friend and his son have destroyed my mobility scooter I myself am a disabled veteran who suffers from a spinal cord injury leaving my entire right hand side of my body fifty percent functional, my scooter is my life line I can do nothing without it . The food is crap and not edible I got given a free meal because his friend was giving me problems it made me ill avoid this business at all costs

I did ask on the order notes to please call due to having a new born baby And I ordered onion salad and didn't get any with my order

Always a fantastic meal hear , staff are always friendly and polite .must say they do a great selection of different curry’s and chef’s specials, we always willing to try different ones and they have all been good so far . This is absolutely unacceptable. It’s been 2 hours since I ordered and I STILL haven’t received my order. It says delivered but we have received no food yet. Calling the restaurant has been useless, they just say it’s coming and they have been busy. That isn’t acceptable. Being busy is not an excuse, if we had gone to eat in the restaurant there is no way we would have waited 2 hours.

My partner book us in here for my birthday. He rang on Tuesday 15th October 2024 for Saturday 19th October 2024 at 7o clock the person on the phone said they had booked it in when we got there at about 6.50 we were told tgere was no booking in our name and tgat they were full. Am very disappointed in tge was they handled this no apology or anything. If u book a table here just make sure u have a table and it's not a waist of time goin

A little hidden gem in the quiet village of bramford on t he outskirts of Ipswich. The kitchen staff know how to make wonders and the dishes are always piping hot and full of amazing flavour and colour. Definitely recommend this restaurant. The prices are fair and they don’t charge the earth.

Had takeaway No spice to madras Spicy poppadoms x4 totally couldn't be eaten @ £1.25 each(have photo, but no where to load, let me know where I can as see others have) Also looked like Sherwoods ones u would microwave at home Hadn't ordered for a while but decided to try again , won't be rushing back Shame as we are a big family who also liked it here.

They had said 1 hour so I went to get some drinks. I had a phone call about 15 minutes later saying they were at my front door. My son was home so I contacted him. My neighbour also tried to contact me. Please don't criticise the driver. It was my fault for not getting the drinks earlier.

an amazing tandoori and Indian restaurant. the staff are amazing and friendly. they cater to your every need and make sure that your food comes out piping hot. they also deliver to the local area. the restaurant is superb and clean. ordered my food and received it within 5 minutes so the service is really fast. will definitely go back and order again from this little hidden gem.

Service for takeaway absolutely terrible. Phoned at 7.15 asking to collect at 8pm, arrived at 8pm and didn’t received food until 8.35. There were many others also waiting a long time and no indication from staff either when ordering or on arrival that there might be a delay. Meanwhile 2 customers walked in and were served straight away whilst many of us had been waiting 20 mins or more. The guy on the front desk was useless and often absent.

First time me and the wife have tried this Indian and sadly will be the last first of all table booked for 7am got in there for dead on 7pm owners are just miserable all the time waited until 7.15 before we could sit at the table and tables were empty they just seem to worry about takeaways as they were concentrating on them rather than seating quests, after getting seated was over 30 minutes before this miserable gentleman decided to come and ask us if we would like to order our food now we still hadn’t been asked if we wanted a drink after ordering was now over a hour before we got our starters and half the tables were empty and still all old dishes just left on them for ages nearly all time we were there just seemed a effort to do any thing by the little staff from what we see, food was average wouldn’t say the best, it took nearly a hour and half before we got our mains was recommended by a friend to try it out certainly will not try again, couldn’t get a smile from any of the staff there they need to work on there customer service with a smile, the only thing a can honestly say what was the best thing of the meal is when we paid and got 10% of for paying cash certainly will never visit again.

Without a doubt a hidden gem of a tandoori restaurant and experience, truly amazing and friendly staff. Food quality and restaurant ambience second to none and for the village of Bramford this is such a great place to try out flavours and spices from Bangladesh to your door and within this lovely restaurant. Anyone in the ipswich area would not be disappointed traveling out here to spend time with the good guys at Indian Ocean and to enjoy the perfect dining experience here. Over 2hrs 45mins late, we were missing 2 items, and the items we did get were cold. It notes to give them additional time due to it being the weekend, however this was ridiculous, and to leave items off the order as well. Terrible, will not be ordering again.

Big respect for delivering outside of Ipswich as I live in a little town - everything was incredible (particularly the chana potato) and arrived hot. I don't think any of it was greasy at all, and every seasoning was perfect. Will order again!

The food was all delicious. My lamb was tender with no gristle. The only minus point was that one meal should have been prawn and they brought chicken instead. Delivery was earlier than expected. Would definitely use them again.

Delivery was on time and driver v friendly. The tikka missala was very artificial with red colouring and sweet. Did not seem that these curries were made from scratch I suspect pastes were used

First time ordering from here and worth the wait,food was very tasty and plenty of it as well.onions bargees…there is 4 large ones in one order so be careful and don’t order 2 lots like we did (2 of us).

Beware if ordering on a busy evening- it was 50 minutes late although ordered for a set time.

Pre ordered and was still 50mins late. Chicken Tikka Madras tasted of tomato soup with a hint of ketchup. Salmon Jalfezi tasted very similar. Nan bread arrived cold as did onion bargees and samosas. Really not good won't order again.

First time ordering from here. Delivered early, still hot, tasted amazing, will definitely be ordering from them again.

The food was EXCELLENT as always.......Tandoori chicken was SPOT ON.......... Only concern is prices appear to be rising in recent weeks , some products up by nearly 20% Understandably wholesale costs have gone up but don't make it unaffordable so people go elsewhere
