Great food however unfortunately the delivery driver was rude on arrival. Won’t order delivery again. Shame

THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED ITS NAME TO 'IVORY LOUNGE' Perfect (or nearly). I left the choice of dishes to my waiter. Preparation, presentation, cooking, flavours and appearance were all perfect. I had Garlic King Prawns and Hyderabadi Chicken with Aloo Gobi and Onion & Garlic Rice. With a pint of lager and spicy popadom with chutney tray to start, the total bill was £36.45. I ate exactly half, so will have the remainder at home tomorrow. Service was discreet, helpful and friendly. There was only one negative: I wanted to end the meal with some Kulfi, but not only was there no Kulfi, but there weas no dessert of any sort.

This is our second visit to this restaurant, even though we live about 30 minutes away it is certainly worth the journey. The food is really delicious, everything tasted really fresh and was piping ho,t not one of us had a bad word to say about the meal. The decor is lovely, very clean and tidy and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going back again.

We are new to the area so we thought we would try out the local Indian takeaways. I’m sorry to say I was very disappointed with the food. My husband collected it , as we often find delivered food is cold, and it was ready quickly. It was hot when it arrived. Unfortunately my chicken tikka was very red, which would suggest too much food colouring and very very sweet. We shared a pashwari naan which I know is a bit sweet but it was really sickly sweet. I have a sweet tooth but this was something else. We won’t be ordering from this restaurant again.

Saved the best til last. We tried every single Indian restaurant since we moved here and definitely the best. Excellent Jalfrezi, spicy but very flavourful, lovely Madras with just the right amount of spice, Rogan Josh was sublime. We also had bindi Bhaji, fresh and moist, tarka dhal was a melt in the mouth experience, Bagian (aubergine) absolutely lovely. Definitely worth a proper sit down visit when it all reopens. Well done!!

Just average, I have had better meals really dispointed with the stale pompdoms!! Cooked yesterday or very early in the day.

Ordered takeaway and the food was piping hot and fresh. It had just the right level of spice. I ordered the meal deal which is good value. The naan bread wasn’t cooked thoroughly it was still a bit doughy. I would order from here again. The reason for the 3 star review was the delivery was 30 mins late. No call from them to let us know it was running late. It was a Saturday night so they were probably very busy but a courtesy call would have been nice.

I ordered my take away from here by mistake & unfortunately it was a mistake. The onion bajis were burnt & cold, the rice & meals were ok but lacked any taste what so ever & the salad was hot? I am very disappointed indeed & wouldn’t make this mistake again.

Have dined in several times before and have had 2 takeaways from here and always been a pleasure. Had a takeaway this evening and although it was late was definitely worth the wait (only 15 minutes). We ordered starters, mains, vegetable side dishes and naan bread plus poppadoms and all tasted wonderful. The quantity of food is really good and you definitely get your money’s worth. When ordering on just eat we got 10% off our order as it was over £25 so extra bonus there. Would definitely order and dine in here again 🙂

I used to visit this place regularly when it was number 1 in Sandy but haven't been for a while. My wife is not very keen on spicy food so frequently I visit restaurants solo and what is it that restaurants seem to have about people eating alone even at quiet times? A few months ago I entered on a Sunday lunchtime after 1pm and was told it was not yet open despite it being advertised as such. Today I went for the Sunday buffet. I was not offered any poppadums despite knowing that they are extras. The food was OK but not spicy enough for my liking. The only waiter disappeared for virtually the whole of the time so was not available to ask for more drinks. He was more interested in waiting for the arrival of a party group. I was also alarmed by the number of spiders webs visible near the roof of the conservatory and spent most of my time watching a large spider in the centre of one of them! These could easily fall into diners food. When the party arrived a member of the kitchen staff helped seat them dressed in tracksuit bottoms and trainers. They asked for a certain bottle of wine and he never even knew what it was or realised it was on their list. At the end of my meal I asked for a coffee (or tea) and basically the waiter commented that he was too busy/couldn't be bothered to make any. Not a pleasant experience. Will not be returning in a hurry which is a shame as previously enjoyed meals there.

Good food although lacked the use of fresh herbs like coriander or curry leaves. Good sized portions. Front of house nice enough but shouldn’t get political with its customers. I didn’t need to be told that the UK is not a free country, despite what is claimed!

There was a family group of 8 of us including 2 children. We were made to feel welcome by Babs and not rushed at all . As we were the first in everything was cooked fresh and there was a good selection . The buffet serving dishes were topped up as needed . Drinks were reasonably priced and we will be back again soon.

This was a return visit, we have been a few times and the food and service has always been fabulous. We had taken a friend with us this time and raved about the food - especially the Fish Tikka starter. As always the food was fabulous. However at the end of the meal, the waiter strolled over and asked where we were from. On hearing that my partner was Scottish and I was English, he started the conversation with 'Do you know what the English are good at?' and then told us 'The English are good at nicking'. He explained that the English steal things by calling it taking over a country and stealing all the good things and this led into why didn't we give back the Crown Jewels, how corrupt the West is, how we are living off immoral, stolen money and generally that the English are thieves! Sadly I was too polite to argue, although our companion did point out that most of this had happened before we were born! It was uncomfortable and spoiled a lovely meal. I doubt I'll be back now.

Our first visit to The Lounge India although we had ordered takeaways previously and they were very good. I have to say the four of us were most impressed with the way in which we were greeted, the food was excellent and the prices reasonable. The menu is extensive, something for everyone. The choice of deserts wasn’t good although that may be a cultural thing, perhaps the other courses are supposed to suffice. However the whole experience was very good and we shall definitely visit again.

We ordered from here as we normally do, we were told our food was on its way at 18:15 and it will be 5 minutes. 20 minutes went by so we decided to call the restaurant for an update. Well, first of all the man that we spoke to said that we will get a text when it’s on it’s way, to which we said we had already had a text 20 minutes ago. He said he will call back and let us know what is happening, another 20 minutes later we had heard nothing and there was no sign of our food, so we called the restaurant and the phone was put down on us 3 times. We called from another number and they just ignored the calls! Finally, 45 minutes after the food was supposed to be out for delivery, baring in mind it’s only a 5 minute drive, our food arrived. Freezing cold, soggy and not at all edible! So we called again and asked for a refund, the man on the phone said if we return the food we could have a refund. I’ve never known service like this, most places would apologise and either send out the order again or give a refund! He just told us he will not do this and we need to call Just Eat as we ordered from there. So we called Just Eat and they spoke to the restaurant and they completely lied through their teeth, saying the food wasn’t late, it was hot and we did not once contact them to resolve the issue. I’m absolutely disgusted at their attitude and lack of customer service. We order from there regularly, so why would we need to complain?? They’ve lost our loyal custom now, we WILL NOT be ordering from here again. And I suggest that the restaurant staff consider sorting out their attitude towards customers before they end up losing more!!

Staff are quick to serve and the food here is of high standard. Had one mishap with service a couple of years ago but overall have had a excellent experience here everytime I go in for food or have a takeaway. They do banquet nights here as well and I believe a Sunday buffet too. Would not hesitate to here for another Indian.

Went here for Sunday buffet as usual restaurant was closed.FOOD The best I can honestly say I've ever had.SETTING Decor is stunning, very romantic with oak tables, leather high-backed chairs & a marquee type feel about it. Couldn't fault it. Is now my new local.

Have been many times since my last review. The food is the best kids love it. The staff are great have good chat with them. They have recently hired two new waiters who seem to fit in well with the rest of the team. Relaxed atmosphere can easily stay there till closing time. You are not being rushed out. The new desserts added to the menu with a coffee finish the night off well. Highly recommended to all.

Last time I came hear I chose the set menu for one where I was dissapointed by excessive sweetness of main courses. This time I could not fault anything. Excellent food, service and value.

Myself and my wife have tried a couple of takeaways but the one from lounge india has defiantly come out on top. My wife had a vegetarian meal and I had chicken, we can not fault any of the food. Hot, Spicy and full of flavour. Food arrived within an hour of ordering. If you are in Sandy, Biggleswade or anywhere within range of delivery you wont be disappointed. As a bonus the delivery drive gave us a 15% dining in voucher. So a night out has already been schedule. BEST INDIAN IN THE AREA.

We had the most amazing food. Our first visit and we will now go nowhere else. We tried it because the menu offered a great range of dishes. All were superb.

First time ordering and really enjoyed my meal. The veggie Rogan josh was lovely, nice and spicy too and i had a butternut squash side dish that was also really lovely. Will order again

Food an hour late. Called the restaurant and not interested just said its on delivery. Had to wait about half hour after that. Tried chatting to just eat but chat not working, called just eat and 9th in queue. Husband had to go out before food delivered to collect the kids. Means we will be eating cold food even though it wasn't hot when delivered. Not a good experience and won't be doing it again.

food was very greasy and cold when it arrived. took nearly two hours to arrive from ordering and no apology from driver. rang restaurant and they told me it had left there over 40 mins before delivery. As a pregnant woman I didn't appreciate late stagnant cold greasy food. will not use again.

Went for dinner for 6 of us. Food was very slow coming out but they had loads of people in there and the phone was too g crazy. We decided to chill a bit and not rush and the food was well worth the wait. Chicken that melts in the mouth. Nan breads were so fluffy and full of filling. Fab food. Manager was excellent at dealing with the small niggle I had about something and rectified it. That's what customer service is about. Well done. This place gets better and better.

The food is always good but gets spoilt when food was ordered for delivery and took over an hour and a half to arrive!! Such a shame as the food is so nice when delivered on time!!

Takeaway experience: I've had takeaway food from Lounge India of three occasions. The first occasion put me off a bit, as one of my dishes tasted like tobacco (you know, that well know Indian ingredient!). It was also quite a lot of sauce and nothing much else. Service was okay.

It was a Friday evening so we expected a wait for our meal. When it finally arrived we got it home, I had a chicken Terri which was chicken in a tomato chilli pickle sauce, lime and lemon sour and hot. It was delicious as I like the sour taste. This menu has many different type of dishes which you do no see very often. Very nice.

This restaurant is fantastic first time ordering from here and I will never order anywhere else now.The food is so fresh and full of flavour everything about it was beyond expectations.The staff were very polite and delivered a great service.Lounge India is def the place to go wether it be delivery or to eat in!!!

amazing food best Indian I've had in ages!

Some of the food was cold. The onion Biharis were inedible as so cold. We was quite disappointed. Not usual for them. But has put us off ordering again.

The food was over an hour, I called to ask where order was and some snotty woman shouted it's only been an hour tell her it will be 5 mins , it was another 20 mins we had items missing and it was not hot and the naan was cold.

Absolutely beautiful food. Best indian in sandy. The quality of chicken is the best and everything was piping hot. Nan breads fluffy not stodgy. Excellent delivery time. We have sometimes had to wait 10-15 mins over but this place cooks it fresh so it's well worth the wait. We have ordered with others who do it quicker to get watery cold food. Will always use lounge india in future.

The restaurant has recently been decorated and looks modern and clean. Very friendly service and great food!

Outstanding food and one of the best curries I've had!

We had a garlic cheese naan bread missing from our order, and the order turned up 15 minutes later than expected. The food itself was very tasty and hot, it's just a shame that half of us didn't get any naan bread with our curries.

It was cold missing curry for the biryani and no nann bread they are not answering the phone

Amazingly tasting food but my spicy dish was at best super mild. Im a chilli lover and when there is a chilli logo next to the name I should expect to feel the burn. If I want a Korma thats what I will order. Beef it up in the kitchen next time boys! Spicy should mean spicy!

Its not often that you just stumble upon a great restaurant but this was the case here. myself and my Dad were staying at a local hotel and the food looked pure ping and ding so we decided to walk into town.

Really happy with the food, it's always delicious... a shame the prices have gone up so much but you get what you pay for and I'll definitely be back :-)

Me and my wife had the best Indian we have ever had, and we've had a few from all over the country, but this is by far the best and we genuinely mean that, the taste of the food was spot on, the chicken was so well cooked it literally fell apart when putting a fork in it, delivery was bang on time, staff were friendly, would highly recommend this place, and to be honest anyone that doesn't try this place is missing out big time

Ate in on Friday night, first time eating in since it changed hands. The food was really good. One of my party had a veggie Dupiaza and was impressed with the veg, not the frozen packet stuff you often get. Gurkhali Lamb was really flavoursome.Nice decor, been redecorated by the new owner.

First time visiting with some friends after it was recommended to me. The staff where friendly and the food was really good. They offer a service of bring your own which is money saving and we saved so much on our bill. Looking forward to going back again.

The Poppadum were a bit chewy (never good thing in a poppadum) was may main complaint lots of sauce not much meat or lentils(dhansak) for texture so a not bad just not good

food was 15 minutes late which was fine. arrived at 19.35, however it's now 21.50 and still waiting for the bottle of coke. rang three times all still be waiting one even had the cheek to say it had been delivered. now we've gone and collected ourselves. 😂 food was lovely but will collect in future.

Now this restaurant has changed hands and I know that the food is good but if your customer service is non existent and you repeatedly deliver food late that has been paid for in good faith then that money will stop coming in.Learn and put right or sink. It's no good saying sorry that's when you've done wrong so should be put right and not be accepted repeatedly as wrong.Last chance had so now we go somewhere else.

Sorry to say but tonight's order never arrived. I finally asked the restaurant to make another order and I collected it. I must say the owner was very apologetic and could not contact the NEW driver. The new order was ready in minutes and very nice but the driver needs replacing to improve delivery service

Mushroom bahji was gorgeous! Next time i will order more of it! Really loved it! The only thing i would like to mention is that i had to pay by cash for delivery . It would be easier to just be included in the total price as sometimes i don't have change and i wasn't aware i had to pay separately for delivery. Other than that, all good

I only recently noticed that the restaurant was under new management so I got a mid-week takeaway (I never use Indians on Saturday nights the food is never good when their busy) the food did not taste as good as it looked.it definitely had the taste of pataks jarred curry sauce about it. I've been eating curries for over forty years so I'm not new to this food. unfortunately this Restaurant is like most Indians mediocre and nothing special

Very disappointed, we order an £80 takeaway and we're given a collection time. Our food was an hour late from this on our collection, after such a long wait the food was cold and had items missing.I wouldn't recommend

2 hours and 5 minutes was the amount of time it took between placing my order on Just Eat and receiving the food. The order was made at 8:40, the restaurant accepted and "delayed the delivery" until 21:55. 22:15 passes as I like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but, I was worried so, I called the restaurant. I'm told "sorry, Just eat was meant to call...your order is just now leaving the kitchen and will be with you in 10 mins". Alas, this was not the case. The food did not arrive until between 20 to and quarter to 11. The driver sheepishly handed over the bag and flippantly apologised for being late as if it was 5 or 10 mins late. When I finally got to eating the food was warm but, by no stretch of the imagination hot. Not even the spicy dhansak could overpower the bitter taste of disappointment left by the experience. The restaurant clearly foresaw that there would be issues in delivering the order in a timely manner and I believe should have declined the order. This is by far the worst delivery experience I have had and that's coming from someone who lived in Luton. I'm sure the food would have tasted a lot better than average had it not have been lukewarm or tainted by the delivery experience.

Food was delivered on time which was awesome. New to the area and this is the second time we have ordered, the first time it was beautiful. Couldn't fault it! This time was totally different. The naan seems to be that with filling its fluffy and soft and gorgeous, and without (like garlic) it's hard, impossible to chew, like shop bought. The mango chutney was pure sugar, not much meat in the curry. It's a shame really as we were so impressed the first time!

Food was delivered earlier than expected and as always was piping hot and fresh. At last Sandy has an Indian restaurant that stands out from the rest, we wouldn't eat anywhere else!

Just got to say that I'm really impressed with this place, we've tried every Indian restaurant in Sandy, Potton & Biggleswade and this place is joint number 1 with a place in Biggleswade who no longer delivers to sandy through just eat. The app told us the food would be late by 10 minutes and we got a courtesy call to confirm this which was nice. food was delicious, there's usually something that doesn't quite hit the spot but this did!!! overall very happy and we will definitely return.

No apology from restaurant or delivery driver and we are only 10 minutes away. Waited nearly two hours as the delivery was 25 mins late and they quoted 1 hour 25 to start with The food was hot and good quality as always

I placed my order at 6:30 for a 8:45 delivery. Got a email saying it will be with me at 8:55 which I have no problem with. it turned up at 9:20 Which I think is not very good at all Quality of food was not as good as usual. Mushroom rice had about 3 pieces of mushroom in it.

This has always been a great restaurant, my favorite. Now under new management & a great restaurant has been transformed into a greater restaurant, very top quality & friendly staff & management.

Attended this restaurant with some colleagues after work & it was most certainly an excellent choice.Lamb Tikka as a starter, Tandoori Lamb Chops as a main with Pilau Rice & Keema nan - lovely! Staff were great and attended to all our needs with efficient service.Corkage charge with £2-a-head was a bit over the top but can't go wrong.Tuesday Banquet night is a high recommendation

Baltic was very salty - not the first time either. Whatever day we order it's still 50 minutes to deliver other local restaurants manage to deliver quicker

The food has always been of a good standard from Lounge India, food arrived really hot, freshly cooked and on time. Food portion sizes are great and full of flavour. Highly recommended!

Have been eating here for nearly 3 years. Never a bad meal. Always great service and then the last 3 take aways since its changed hands..... The food tasted good as alwayd, but mine again had no spice. If you order a dish with 2 chilies you expect a kick, but last 3 times, nothing. Last time they had to come and replace it being told id have to wait half hour. I didnt, but not the point. Then tonight, first they forgot to deliver it, saying i asked for collection, but i asked what the delivery time was so not sure how they got that, and then i phone and say that its gone wrong again. And i get told by the new owner to next time say i want it extra spicy. I dont want it extra spicy, just how its advertised. Sadly this is enough for me to say bye. You need to listen not waffle about asking for extra spicy. I want my taste buds im full working order after a meal. Dispite saying this, it fell on deaf ears. They did offer to rectify, but 3 bad meals is enough for me to sadly look else where now. Shame as i ate there at least every month or every 2 weeks.

Not the best delivery. We normally have an excellent experience but this order was over 35 mins late and was not as hot as it normally is. Very very disappointed, will consider using alternative restaurants next time.

When I placed the order on the internet it said the food would arrive by 8.25. When I checked the email confirmation it said 8.55. We ordered at 7.30. If I knew it would have taken that long we would have gone elsewhere. The food was good but the nan bread was a bit dry and over cooked

Worst Indian meal we've had, so watery, not an enjoyable meal at all....! Won't be ordering from here again!

My only disappointment is the size of the condements the amount seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

Every take away I've had has been lovely never had any problems with the food the staff are allways polite and after a couple of visits have started recomending new dishes based on my previous choices they are extremely friendly with my daughter as well
