The food is absolutely delicious, the lamb is cooked to perfection practically falls apart, all the flavours in all the dish’s was beautifully put together, The only Indian I’ll order from! The staff are so lovely gave my little boy some chocolates when we collected our take away. Such a lovely place! My order was - Peshwari Nan Papadoms & mango chutney Basmati pilau rice Butter Chicken Lamb Gosth laziz And Saag Aloo Many thanks Amanda & family

A place with a huge choice of different dishes from India. The dishes I tasted were very good.

Whilst we hadn't been for a while the food was sensational offering different dishes to the normal popular ones and both service and prices were great.

So tasty, good sized portions and good value for money. Would be nice just to acknowledge birthdays in some way.

Visited the Passage to India for my Daughters Birthday and had a very good meal as always, and very attentive service, would recommend.

Actually love the food in this place, always friendly and great service, food itself is reasonably priced and always freshly cooked and very tasty. The only issue I have and I generally have this issue with most Indian restaurants these days is the extortionate price of drinks, Drinks bill thats more than the food ?? Why, why charge nearly £8 for a bottle of Cobra and £9.50 for a glass of Prosecco??? Love your food sort your drinks prices out and we would vist far more often 😉

Loved the food here it was tasty and reasonable on a banquet night. I ate there on a Weds and the service and staff were good. I will definitely eat here again. It cost around £30 a head for a large larger starter main and side plus little tip!

Getting busier since the refurb, food still good, but service got slower. Update a year later, cannot fault the restaurant, we now come probably too often! Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.

Good food reasonable prices. Banquet night Wednesday and Monday gives a good choice of food for a fixed price. They give a discount for take aways when collected. Phone ahead at weekend.

I no longer live near but when I come back from Turkey and visit friends ans family, we always come back. In 23 years, it's still the same food and quality which is very rare. Great place.

We have dined in before and we have just received a takeaway this was as good as dining in. The flavours were so good, made your mouth tingle, lovely friendly service, this a very good restaurant with the food and service provided.

Have been before but Friday night was a lot busier. Maybe too noisy for me. Service good but not perfect. Ultimately we went for the food which was perfect! 6 stars. The flavours and ingredients spot on. I tried a biryani - very hot. It was beautiful - perfect heat, lovely presentation. Will go again.

Visited this lovely restuarant last night with my partner, the food was absolutely fantastic, the flavours and quantities were probably the best we have tasted in the area. The staff were very polite and couldnt do enough. We will most definitely be back soon!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for 15 years, never had a bad meal and the staff always give you a warm welcome.

Great food and huge choice from the menu. Friendly table service and nice setting. But the portions are a little small and fir what you get it's a little pricy.

Brilliant food and super attentive and engaged staff!

Inedible, expensive food. Staff with no idea about customer service. We were made to feel rushed out at 8.30pm when there were only three tables occupied. Desserts were frozen solid and the lamb shank main course was buried under tasteless sauce. Very disappointed with the whole visit. All four of us had upset stomachs the same night. Don’t waste your money, the place is rubbish and needs a thorough clean.

I have visited Passage to India twice in the past few weeks and both times were thoroughly enjoyable. A group of five all enjoyed the first visit, including a vegan and gluten-intolerant amongst us, on a very busy Friday night. A larger group of 9 had a similar experience 2 weeks later, albeit on a much quieter Sunday night. There is a large selection of dishes including Bengali and Rajesthani on the menu, and the portions were quite generous. They were easily able to adjust the heat and spiciness up or down as required. One of the best Indian-style restaurants for miles, although not the cheapest.... thoroughly recommended.

Disappointed. Ordered for pick up, the daal was very very salty and the saag aloo was far too spicy.

We were welcomed and was explained that our safety was important. We were given a choice where to sit. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The waiters were so friendly and we all had a giggle with them. The food was divine, big portions and high quality.

A real find. Excellent food, very pleasant and attentive staff, pleasant surroundings. My first visit was with friends and we enjoyed the meal so much we booked a return visit for the following week. In between, I took my son who was down for a visit. He's a curry freak and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. They have dishes that I've never experienced before but star of the night were the best Bombay Potatoes I've ever tasted. Firm yet soft and tasty. And how about an Indulgent Mixed Gril that includes King Prawns. Highly recommended.

Only visited because our usual restaurants were full due to EoHo. We had a lovely welcome from the staff who were very pleasant and attentive. The menu has some unusual dishes that I hadn't seen before making choosing very difficult. Imagine our surprise to find the discounted Gourmet menu was still being offered during the EoHo scheme making our meal an extremely attractive price. The quality of the food was excellent and the Bombay Potatoes were the best I've ever had, firm yet soft enough to cut with a spoon. Delicious. So impressed, we booked a return visit for the following week. I see a comment about bland decorations. I found it light and airy and a pleasant change from red.

Had a lovely meal out this evening and amazing value on the Eat Out Help Out scheme combined with gourmet night. Felt a safe environment and staff all wore masks or shields. All very polite and pleasant and good service on a busy night. Food very good quality and very tasty. My only issue was that I did have to point out to them that desserts should be included in the 50% off scheme - took two discussions to get this through to them, so I suspect they’ve been overcharging unnecessarily on desserts for previous customers to date. It sounded like they just hadn’t understood the scheme rules. Just hope they now understand properly and will adjust how they total up their bills going forward. It was only £3.50 for us so I wasn’t labouring the point for our benefit, more for everyone else going forward. It’s not as if the restaurant will lose out, they just add it to the amount they claim back. Cute little sweets!

Seems, after 21years of using, you can't have a side salad AND a 7p fried onions with a chicken tikka on a £27 takeaway, it's either or.... ladies and gentlemen, no grey area......other Indian takeaways available in same village

Don’t use this place! Waited an hour and half for a takeaway and when I got home I had dishes missing, it was New Year’s Eve so called back up and they said it would take too long to make dishes and deliver so could I accept their apologies and they will “sort me out” next time instead. Just tried to order tonight and all they would offer me was 10% off!! I get 10% off for collecting it anyway so basically they offer nothing even though I previously paid for dishes I never received. Awful customer service... would advise others not to waste their time going to this place and just stick to the Goa instead, it’s friendly in there and they don’t try to rob you.

We have started using the Passage more frequently in the last 6 months and are thoroughly enjoying it. Service is great, food is good and good value. Only mark down 1 star due to the decor, it is very plain and bland. Probably what they wanted it to be, but not really my taste. Best Indian in the village, highly recommend a visit.

Didn’t get my rice or my mushroom bhaji, friends also didn’t receive their sides or rice dishes, absolutely unacceptable considering I’m paying £15 for the my meal. Suing...

Have not been for a while, but food was first class and the friendly service is even better than I remember. Very very mice.

Having just moved to Barton, we are still trying out the local restaurants and this time it was Passage to India, for a change. I wouldn't usually make a comment about the appearance of a restaurant but this was like sitting in a village hall! However, the food was very nice, good portions and we couldn't fault the service at all. The huge window could be made into a feature and dressed to give a warmer decorative atmosphere. The wood flooring is a bit cold and stark and why all the space in the middle, when the tables are lined up tight against the wall either side? We only stayed long enough to eat our meal and sorry to say, it wouldn't be somewhere to spend an evening out with friends. So, we might have a takeaway from there but it's back to our favourite Cafe Goa next time!

This restaurant was just out of this world service was great and the food was to die for. Totally recommend and will certainly be going back.

Had a meal here the other day with my family and whilst the food was enjoyable without complaints, the bill was curiously expensive. We eat out every week at different curries (including this one) and it never comes to that much. Furthermore, this meal in particular was smaller than our usual as some people didn't have mains. Anyway we asked them to explain it considering how absolutely ridiculous it was, and they changed their reasoning multiple times from one answer to the next – none of which were justifiable. We then asked them to break down the bill but they couldn't even do that as it wasn't an itemised breakdown – hmm, how convenient! It's quite obvious they're adding a little something extra. BEWARE!!!

Couldn’t wait to turf us out. Tellingly quiet for a Friday and service lacking... food (when it came) was quite bland and hard to distinguish between mains on a varied order. Wanted to try something local and different; will not be going again

Brilliant curry so tasty and not oily/fatty. All 3 of us thought it was the best curry we have had anywhere for a very very long time.

We've visited the restaurant and also had takeaway from here many times. The food is always excellent, we've never had a bad meal and you definitely value for money. I recommend the chicken rezzela!

Wouldn’t rate the food at all, waiters pestering when eating. Food come out very fast and watery and drinks/popadom expensive. Drinks flat and warm

After years of "new management" the faces stay the same. Variable service, fizzy food. Not one I will try again.

Had a takeaway. After asking the waiter to serve me, whilst he was ignoring me, the food took around 15 minutes. Hardly any flavour at all. Watery curry texture, and the rice was bland. Will not be returning.

Last minute decision to have a late curry (for a school night). Good selection of dishes and some different choices to a standard menu. Very good quality grub and the staff were excellent. Will definitely go again.

Friendly staff and great curry’s. Can have a beer while you wait for your curry to be made if you have a takeaway or you can sit in the restaurant. They have many tables for big party’s and smaller ones for couples. Good size car park at the front

Local resident so we use it reasonably regularly, it’s nothing exciting but the food is fine and there is a good choice including some unusual offerings, service could be better but it’s ok. Price wise it’s fine really. Some locals say it’s a bit hit and miss at times but I have never had a bad meal.

Nothing to explain everything is good

We came on probably the worst night of the year for weather and although other places may have decided to close the restaurant was still open for business which shows there dedication to service. I think there must be something wrong with the heating as there is a number of stand alone heaters dotted around the walls, not a fully installed heating system. If this is normal then they really need to improve on this as there were drafts from the doorway and the place felt generally chilly and never really warmed up much as the evening progressed. There is a high ceiling with Indian style architraves that try and give it some character but is is a large room that needs filling with customers to make it feel right. If you have a large party this may be the place for you to go.

A warm and welcoming Indian Restaurant which at first glance is not unlike a works canteen. Appearances are deceptive and the quality of the food & service was to a very high standard. The bill for 4 including drinks was less than £20 a head, Extremely good value in my opinion.

My first ever visit to the restaurant was very pleasant. We were seen to straight away and a table was available without booking on a Friday night. They greeted us politely and straight away asked if we would like a drink. The wine we had was amazing! Menu was easy to read and had a good selection on Indian food. Once ordered it took about 15-20 for the food to arrive which seemed fair. The food itself was extremely tasty, wasn’t cold and there was a generous amount. My partner ordered the spicy chicken tikka which was amazing! And the korma was also very nice. Desserts seemed appetising but we didn’t opt for any as we were so full. I was even given a lovely flower at the end of the meal. Overall lovely service and would come back time and time again.

Superb food . A bit noisey for some people.

Visited many Indians and never had a problem with getting chicken and mushroom balti, I was told very abruptly they couldn't do this for me, I then asked for chicken saag again I was told "no"so I wonder if the food is made fresh? I plumped for just chicken balti and that really was all that was in it, no tomatoes, no onions??? Very bland in taste. The peshwari naan was the worst ever too, soggy and very little taste...this with the staff being inattentive and rude made it a place not to revisit

The food is always lovely, the service can be so so. Avoid Saturday evenings - a group of six of us went last week and waited for an hour and a half to get our food. When I asked a waiter why it was taking so long, he said they had too many takeaway orders. Not an acceptable excuse sorry. I would return, but never on a weekend
