The best restaurants serving Indian food in Amber Valley East Midlands

Now we're huge curry fans so we are always dubious about trying new Indian restaurants as we have been disappointed so many times. We have now had two takeaways from Rajput and I have to say, they were both really really good. Lots of depth of flavour you want from a curry. We're planning on taking family for a meal on Saturday so I hope it is of the same standard that we've enjoyed so far.

30 -45 minutes late And no update during / explanation to why our food arrived late. Wouldn’t be so bad if we were kept updated.

Firstly not regarding the food we went last night for a family meal for my sons 21st birthday and we took 8 people. i have to say the staff where absolutely amazing , so helpful , very attentive and went above and beyond to make us all feel special and the whole service was top quality. Now to the food. i have written reviews on Katmandu's food before and this will be no different. Every course including the poppadoms etc were cooked perfectly. This is one of the few curry restaurants were you can see that the meat in the curries is actually fresh and not hard lumps. All 8 people loved the food with everyone having different apart from my son and myself who had duck madras so im sure we cant all be wrong. We will without fail be back soon.

It's absolutely amazing. Beautiful food. You don't get as much as a takeaway, but it's worth it as it's 10x better than a takeaway

I have been here on several occasions and absolutely love it! The curries are amazing and the roast dinner is maybe the best I've ever had at a pub. Drinks are good value especially at happy hour. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Will be back!

Best Indian restaurant in the area. Really authentic tasty food and good portions. Staff really friendly. There’s a reason this is the oldest Indian restaurant in Alfreton. Original and best.

Lovely restaurant with well spaced out tables. Very friendly staff. Food extremely good. I had garlic chilli chicken and a cheese and onion nan. Wife had veg biryani. Asked for extra chillies on the side. This is a BYOB restaurant there is a NISA next door with wine and beer in the chiller. I believe the shop closes at 9pm

Lovely food and great customer service. Staff were very kind and helpful. Loved the mix grill and keema cheese nan. Its a must try!

Nice atmosphere and great food. Service was prompt and always very attentive. Compete with one or two other restaurants nearby, but this is definitely the best one.

Our experience here on Sunday was exceptional from start to finish. We called in as were staying at the Travelodge on way home to Leeds from Alton Towers. The waitress was so friendly and made such an effort. All the food was faultless from the popodums and chutneys to the naanwich my sons (age 10.and 12) shared, the lamb keebab sizzler, curry recommended to my husband and the paneer curry i had. We all sampled a bit of everything and it was so fresh and delicious. It made a stop over night very memorable, we had never been to Alfreton before but agreed we'd be back for another curry one day!!! Thank you.

We had a bad experience initially however we eventually had a kind and fair response from their management team. We hope to try their services again and I’m sure they will be 5*

The food was amazing and I highly recommend the chicken corma and the chicken tikka.The woman who served us was really kind and patient even after a spillage of yummy lemonade.It was very quiet in the restaurant and there were beautiful paintings on the walls.

We were greeted warmly and shown to our booth. Drinks served quickly. The food was hot and very tasty and decent sized portions. I wasn’t sure which rice to have with my meal, but the advice I was offered was absolutely right. The waiters were very attentive and cheerful. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. The toilets were spotless. On the whole a very enjoyable experience.

The restaurant is clean and the service is prompt and un obtrusive. Sadly my curry was bland with overcooked tough and rubbery chicken and the naan bread dry and without flavour.
