We had a bad experience initially however we eventually had a kind and fair response from their management team. We hope to try their services again and I’m sure they will be 5*

Really friendly staff. I went with a large party and they made a fuss to make them feel special for their big day. I had never tried curry buffet style so I was highly skeptical (they did also allow ordering off the menu) but in the end I tried the buffet and loved it. Really yummy starters and good variety of curry's clearly labelled so you didn't accidently get a hot one (I love hot so I tried some though)

Awful- meat was soooo tough it was a choking hazard sauce had no taste and was half water half pulp chips like carboard they couldn't even be bothered to melt the cheese on the naan...

Lamb Rogan Josh - lamb was very tough (couldn't even cut it) and the sauce was bland, it almost looked like like a ready meal. Cheese & Garlic Nan - came with a pile of cheese on it which is a first, Nan bread was soggy due to the unmelted cheese. Chips - were clearly reheated (like chewing cardboard) Samosas - they were ok but very sweet which was weird, also a first. We normally order from anila which is very nice, always consistent but since they're closed on Mondays, we thought we would give these a try. Considering Anila and Praan are simarly priced, I was expecting the food quality from Praan to be up there but its no where near. Won't be ordering from here again 1/5

We were a table of 6 Saturday night, the food is amazing and all of the staff are great, we were celebrating a birthday and they bought out complimentary fizz which was a nice touch, thanks for a great evening

My daughter wanted to go out for a curry for her 10th birthday, Praan never disappoints so we booked in. The guys realised it was my daughter's birthday, made a fuss of her, bought her out a mocktail and a little birthday cake. A very nice touch which made her night! The food was incredible as always and as I said, the staff can't do enough, so polite and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely evening guys!

Been eating from here for almost 2 years, and the recipe has never changed....until tonight. Not as good as normal. Spicy with less cream (butter chicken). A bit shocked and definitely disappointed.

Went for the Buffett - they let our 2 yr old eat for free and she loved their chicken, lamb and beef dishes! Food was great, full of flavor - a good selection. The staff were nice and friendly. Restaurant was clean, decoration was cosy. Really had a nice time. We live local but didn't know the Restaurant was their (its located under a different Restaurant) - well be going back soon for sure! Cant wait!

Gorgeous food, good prices and friendly staff. The food is tasty and not too spicy which we love and the naan bread is so fluffy and light - perfect! We always make a detour on our way home to Halifax if we are passing - we will definitely be back soon! Would highly recommend to anyone!

I ordered the garlic chili paneer starter, Gobi cauliflower and peas, and plain naan. The food was delicious, not too spicy and reasonably priced, and the restaurant (including restrooms) was clean. If I lived here, I would definitely go back.

Another fantastic experience at Praan. Booked to celebrate my fiancé’s 40th birthday (12 of us altogether), Praan never let us down when it comes to great service and incredible food without breaking the bank. And to be handed a complimentary bottle of Prosecco as a parting gift was the icing on a very happy birthday cake! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were a table of 4 at a 7pm Thursday. Following internet reviews we were not disappointed. Really wonderful food, fab service and good recommendations and suggestions for different dishes to maybe try. Loved it, definitely going back soon.

We had a fantastic meal here and gluten free and dairy free was catered for. Service was good with helpful and polite servers. Food was amazing. The onion bhajis were said to be the best tasted by one of my friends, they were certainly good. Great atmosphere. Worth travelling to and I will certainly return when I’m in the area.

While visiting the UK and spending time with friends we decided to have a meal here at Praan as my friends live in Belper. Great atmosphere, the waiters that served us were very friendly and the food was extremely tasty. Would recommend and the cost isn't that unreasonable either

Our favourite Indian by far. The food it really nice and the staff very helpful. It’s underground with the entrance off to the side, being underground means it can be quite dark but the setting and lighting make up for it . We usually eat in but even as a takeaway, it’s very nice. I have the shatkora and my wife has the saag, with the shatkora from here being my favourite curry for anywhere, ever. Can’t recommend it enough.

Had a lovely night out with my wife and a few friends. The service we recieved was spot on couldn't fault the waiters. The food was very tasty, lots of flavour and was piping hot when it arrived at the table. It was very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Hi there I was in town & I couldn’t help it, but there was this beautiful aroma of spices in the air and I came across Praan ,OMG! this restaurant is SO beautiful, I ordered a chicken tikka bunah shahlick with a side of sag panner it was amazing. Great service too.

Couldn’t help myself but return to Praan yet again. Amazing food, amazing service and fantastic people working there. The chicken jalfrezi is still my longtime favourite dish and no one does it better than these guys!

Rude staff with attitudes and won’t admit they’re wrong! Family of 5+1. Seated fast ordered drinks, starters arrived before drinks leaving us waiting. Main meal took a while to come out and wasn’t as hot in temperature as expected. Had to wait 40 mins for the bill after asking. 3 waiters later and they stated we made an error in the bill. They miscalculated and blamed the customers instead of theirselves. They did not communicate with each other and made us feel like we were trying to underpay. Yet the waiter was the one with the calculator and then said it wasn’t their fault for the miss communication. Me and my family have never felt so humiliated in a restaurant. Will NOT be returning and will be passing the word round to friends and family to stay clear!

Had a family gathering for 5+1 at this restaurant. Despite being seated promptly, our experience soured due to poor service. Drinks were delayed, and despite prompting, a third waiter took our order and another took the bill. A billing error occurred, blaming us for lack of communication, though admitted among themselves. Felt like paupers due to their mismanagement. Request for NHS discount was denied, stating the boss pays bills, offering a mere chocolate instead. Sadly, the second chance didn't redeem them; won't be returning. Family reunion marred by this disappointing experience.

Great food and great service for late night curry, turned up at 10:30pm due to a late lunch and was warmly welcomed by the staff at the bar and shown straight to a table, quick service with drinks, poppadoms and main courses - would highly recommend

I've been visiting the Praan for a number of years now. The food is consistently excellent and this evening was no exception. Amazing quality and flavours at reasonable prices. It never lets me down. Highly recommend a visit.

Yet another great takeaway from the praan. Excellent prawn pathia.....rice and chapati. The online ordering is very good and the delivery service is great keep up the good work .

The food, service and friendliness of staff is amazing. I took my partner for a special anniversary and the staff made it even more so.

This is the best Indian restaurant we have found, it really is worth travelling to. We have been three times so far and it has been consistently good, the main dishes are great then finishing off with amazing desserts and a pot of coffee with a jug of cream after the desserts which is how it should be but so many others aren't. To top it off it is reasonably priced and the setting which is underground really has a wow factor.

Couldn’t fault our evening meal tonight at Praan. From the moment we arrived I felt we were well looked after by the staff. The food was excellent quality; my lamb shank curry was amazing. No rushed service either and a clean atmosphere. From our experience it’s pretty rare these days in Belper to feel like you have enough time to feel like you can enjoy a meal without all the courses coming out far too quick and being rushed out the door. It’s nice to see Praan giving customers an experience instead making each bum on a seat feel like they’re just a transaction. Busy restaurant, clearly a hit with others as well. Will be returning for sure.

Fish curry was shocking. Very watery and 1 prawn and a chunk of what looked like a frozen fish portion. They also forgot the poppadoms we ordered.

This gloomy basement restaurant was awful on the occasion. A main course of chicken jalfreizi was virtually inedible. Rock hard pre cooked reheated chicken with a sauce that was sub supermarket bottle standard. Side of bindhi bhaji was ok. To be fair, I wasn't charged...

Unfortunately waited 45 mins for the main, wasn't very hot so guessing it was left because the people next to us who came after got theirs first and the curry looked lovely but tasted bland and never had a cheese and garlic naan where the cheese was sat in the middle, hardly any garlic either. 😕

If I could give more I would. We ordered through just eat and when the food was delivered (very quickly) we noticed one of our starters were missing, we rang the restaurant and within 19 minutes our missing item was here with free poperdoms. The food was amazing, so flavourful! Incredibly impressed can't wait for the next order

Got a takeaway - delicious as usual.

We ordered a collection as there was a large group of us. The menu was broad and appetising, the food was ready on time and we enjoyed everything! However we did have some concerns about the functioning of the website: I crashed my browser as we ordered more than 50 items, and my friend had a problem with punctuation in a request box. These issues, though apparently small, could have larger downstream consequences when ordering via the restaurant website. This is why I have changed the 'Service' rating to four three stars as we nearly gave up the ordering process twice.

Went down on a busy Saturday, but the staff at Praan still managed to smash it out the park. Service was incredible and the food was on another level. Will be returning definitely 👍

Following on from my original review about takeaway not being ready then getting home to find parts of the order missing probably due to them taking too much on and rushing. Then offering verbally to pay me a refund …. Which has never been received!!!! I can only surmise that they obviously need the money more than giving great customer service. Makes you wonder about Praans other ethics doesn’t it? I am sure they will have all the reasons not to have done the right thing?!. There is a saying in great customer service when something accidentally goes wrong and can be righted, called ‘ The moment of truth’ something they seemed to have missed completely

Long wait, when called was told the order was out for delivery but we were last on the list. Polite on the phone. Cheese and garlic Naan bread was a big lump of cheese in the centre of it, could not taste any garlic. inedible. Lamb dish very bland flavouring and dry lamb. Overpriced, £40 for 2 dishes with no poppadoms on the house like some places do that charge less.

Excellent meal with drink and well looked after by Waiters

Polite phone service, long wait time for delivery but understandable, friendly delivery, unfortunately food was not edible. I ordered a lamb dish and it was just pure blubber and chewy lumps, cheese and onion Nan was just crispy with massive chunk of unmelted cheese and no onion also cold, complaints from other family members too. Shame because this was an almost £80 order, restaurant preferable to eat in to be honest so won’t be getting on line order again (online order site unnecessarily complicated too)

Nice flavours but what a shame about the heavy use of food colouring. I thought that was a thing of the past with curries. My lamb methi which should be green with spinach was an overly bright red (definately not just tomato).

What could go wrong? "Taste's so bad" - 4 of us. May be Brits love sweet and tasteless food but if you are Indian, you better save yourself from this place. Everything was tasteless and sweet. This actually took our Pran ( Life) out of us eating this tasteless and sweet food. where should i start, aah, Chilli Paneer, right, looks like the chef missed out on salt or something 😂. The garlic nan was without any taste at all, forget garlic 😂, looked like it was ready to eat nan. Just close this place, you are insulting our Indian cuisine with this taste, oops, no taste at all, just Sugary sweet 😂
