Gurkha Express Belper in Amber Valley

Food was gorgeous… we had vidnaloo and rogan Josh. Food was gorgeous the only thing was the delivery was cold by the time it reached us as they had written the wrong number on the bag so went to next door.

This takeaway is absolutely amazing! The food is so fresh and tasty, good sized pieces of real chicken which is lovely and tender plus a nice team of people. Can highly recommend and it’s our new favourite takeaway!

Honestly can't rate this place enough, best takeaway in the whole of Derbyshire. Something for everyone. Indian and Nepalese. The bhajis are wonderful and they do a great variety of options for Veggies/Vegans/Coeliac. Quick service, ordered on a Saturday night and it was ready in 20 mins. Also the pickled spicy carrots you get in the pickle tray? *chefs kiss* Stunning. Could eat them every day! Any time we visit Belper we always make sure we have a Gurkha. Keep up the good work!

Always our go to takeaway in Belper. One curry, rice and naan is normally enough for both of us because the portion sizes are so generous. Never has a bad curry from here and it always arrive in good time. It’s usually 10% off on the website too

Very poor. Curry arrived cold and was very poor quality. No one enjoyed the food. Didn’t seem very fresh. Avoid.

I have ordered from here many times - the food is always piping hot when I get it delivered and tastes superb! The vegetarian dishes are very tasty and the lamb dishes are so tender. I would definitely recommend and will definitely order from here again.

Very rare we have a takeaway and if we do we are creatures of habit. On this occasion, reluctantly we decided that we would try somewhere new. Pleased we did. We ordered well before opening and the order was taken and promptly delivered with the meal being nice and warm. The meals we chose were not your "usual" curry and once again a good choice with the meals being so well balanced and so full of fabulous flavours - amazing. Don't miss out.

Such a shame as we have ordered here a lot over the last few years. I will never order from here again. The food turned up 45 minutes late and was cold when it arrived. The chips were damp and inedible everything else had to be placed in the mircowave which made it bearable at best. The driver does not understand English or simple directions. He kept telling me he was outside when he was not. Several attempts left me feeling frustrated and hungry and when it did arrive due to a neighbouring house having enough about them to phone us from his phone actually physically directed him to our house. Bitterly disappointed But was willing to give them another chance. They have refused me a full refund so I have made a complaint to just eat who have given me a part refund. I will never order from here again and suggest anyone should stay away. Absolutely awful customer service and literally no response for their utterly appalling drivers and cold food.

Ordered from here many times and it's always lovely, is delivered quickly and always nice and hot. I would recommend the chicken tikka masala, cheese & chilli naan and gurka chips.

In a first timer to Girl he express And im not disappointed what a brilliant meal I've had. I tried Gurkha chicken extra hot 'rice and plain naan. It was faultless The Naan was to die for .I will Deff be returning to try other choices .

We haven't ordered from here for a while and I'm not sure why? This was the best takeaway food we have ordered in ages. Arrived right on time, really hot, some really great flavours and excellent value...be more than happy eating this in a restaurant...ps open a restaurant in Belper please😊

I’ll never buy takeout from anywhere else now, Gurka Express provide such beautiful food at a really reasonable price. Lovely people and a great service too.

Tasty food and we ordered a large meal for two with popadoms for 23! Not sure where else you can get the quality of food for that price. He was a bit later delivery but it wouldn’t prevent me returning on one occasion. We had to wait well over an hour.

Live within walking distance so use this place every so often....ordered Chicken Madras and the Veg Korma with Rice and the Gurkha chips....ready in 30 mins and we really enjoyed it and you get 20% off so you cannot grumble at all....

Regular curry house for just eat orders. Over 50+ orders and only a couple have disappointed. Meat quality excellent and sauce is not too oily etc. Recommended.

The food was fantastic as usual. The only problem I have is that they can't find us when delivering. I know the house is not easy to find which is why I make sure they have my number. But an house after the delivery time I get a phone call from the shop saying the delivery guy can't find the house. I said get him to call me. 10 mins later I get a call from the shop saying my order has now been returned as he can't find my house. I explained where my house was and he said it will be sent right out. 20 mins later I get another call asking me where my house is. He was just around the corner all the time. I'm not sure how to overcome this issue as they keep changing the delivery people. If the first guy had called me I would happily give 5*.

Just had first takeaway from Gurka in Belper. I enjoy hot and spicy food and ordered the chicken madras. It was HOT but very very tasty. Had to save some in freezer as it beat me in one sitting. Think I may have to try something a little milder next time but will definitely order from them again as one of the tastiest take always I have experienced.

Thought we would give this place a go as we were in Belper. Nicely spiced curries with plenty of chicken and whole king prawns. Large tasty garlic nan! Complimentary popadums with pickles. Not the cheapest but worth it for fresh tasting dishes and generous portions, will definitely be going again soon!

We always go back to Gurkha for a takeaway. The prices are reasonable in relation to the portion size. Staff are always very polite and friendly and delivery is nearly always on time.

Excellent food from Gurkha Express, friendly staff and the best cheese naan ever, if your stopping in Belper or nearby it's well worth a try. Really cannot fault it....

First experience of the Ghurka Express the other night......and I'll be back for more.

We have had several curries from gurkha and all have been fantastic so thought i would review - delivery is always within specified time and the food is always hot on arrival, best curry in belper!

Passing by the Gurkha Express many times in my car to get home, I often wondered what the grub was like. So....me and my missus, having had a busy day, thought we'd stop off and grab some food! We were both running on empty (bloody starving!) so we order LOTS, including chips, thinking that the portions would be small. WE WERE WRONG! the portions were HUGE! I was a little taken back in regards to the price tag, but was satisfied and happy to pay a little extra due to the food! It was scrumptious!!! I'm very happy to announce that The Gurkha Express is now my local fast food takeaway! UP YOURS MCDONALD'S!!!!! xxxxxx

Our first experience - it won't be the last. Friendly and helpful on the 'phone, cheerful and gracious on delivery. I started with Gurkhali Chilli Fish - generous, tasty, vibrant with spice and accompanied by plenty of vegetables, all beautifully cooked. My wife commended the meat samosas with curried chickpeas. I moved on to Lamb Tawa - a generous portion of melt-in-the mouth meat in a magnificent, spicy sauce with plenty of flavour. My wife tried Gurkha Chicken and was equally impressed. We shared a generous portion of Pilau Rice and a mouth-watering side of Nepali Vegetables. Poppadums, salad and a trio of chutneys were complimentary. This was most impressive and very reasonably priced. Well done, Gurkha Express, to all involved and...........thank you!

Excellent takeaway, really unusual spices and flavours compared to standard Indian takeaway cuisine. Highly recommended. Try the Gurkha special meals and the chilli chicken starter.

I went to Gurkha express on 7th April .. even though the food took a little while to get ready as it was really busy but they still tried their best to provide the food in time. Me and my friends were really happy with the hospitality and how kind the staffs were not only that but the food was yum and was packed safely and securely for us to take out and me and my friends were really full as the food was more than enough and not only that but I also got 20% off so the food didn't cost too much and was affordable. I would just like to admit the fact that food made our day thank you so much Gurkha express for making the food this special. I can't wait till my next visit and I hope that will be soon

Generous portions of delicious food. Rich sauces with a little bit of a kick. The peshwari nan is well stuffed and the mixed grill very tasty, as were both the curries we tried. We will certainly be ordering from these guys again.
