First time at Anila and can definitely say won’t be the last. From the second we walked in we were welcomed. The food was absolutely stunning and spoilt for choice. We had a few people who couldn’t decide which dish to go for but Ali took the time to help them decide. Highly recommend anyone to go for a meal here, you will not be disappointed.

Me and my family went tonight and let me tell you that the atmosphere was amazing, with the lights dimmed just right. The waiters were welcoming and really friendly . The food was excellent, arrived quickly, and each course was perfectly timed. The strawberry mocktail was sweet and delicious. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. They really go out of their way to make customers feel welcome. The owner also went out of his way to make sure that we were Happy and content which was really appreciated by us all and also picked the starters for us as we were a bit indecisive lol (by the way he has really good taste as the starters were out of this world!!). Would definitely recommend and for sure coming back 🫶🏼

Absolutely excellent food!! So authentic and full of flavour. My partner is Asian and is a good cook, and she loved it. Even reminded her of her nan’s Indian cooking!!

We are holidaying in the Peak District and decided to try Anila”s tonight . The staff were welcoming and each dish was flavoursome and freshly prepared . Spice levels are adjusted to the customers preference . We were pleasantly surprised . Each dish was so well presented . If you are in Ambergate or the Belper vicinity, this is definitely worth visiting.

This is my family’s and my favourite place to eat! I cant explain how much we enjoy every visit here. The food is unreal, the service couldn’t be better and the atmosphere is always always perfect. They all go above and beyond for their customers. It’s so welcoming. We have even booked for New Years Eve because we KNOW we will have the best evening here.

First time visit. Won't be our last, the food was excellent, service excellent. The restaurant was full ,which speaks volumes at 7pm.

Fantastic food! Never disappointed!

I have been looking forward to visiting with family next weekend and had been looking on line for a menu with prices without success, i sent a message via messenger requesting this with no response so far after several days, there is also no email available so took the trouble to phone up and ask only to be told by the young woman who answered the phone that this is fine dining and they do not publish a menu with prices, what is that all about !, this is a pity as we were looking forward to visiting.

We loved our visit to this restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We would recommend the vegetarian sharing platter which was presented perfectly with the tastiest food, the aloo tikka in particular was our favourite. The vegetable madras was lovely with a perfect level of spice and fresh vegetables. We thought the water infused with fresh summer fruit for the table was a nice touch. We can’t wait for our next visit! 😍

First time visit and was impressed with the service and quality of food. None of our party's food was overspiced as often happens when a variety of dishes are ordered. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. Keep up the good work. Will happily recommend you.

Local restaurant to us in Ambergate. Went on a Saturday evening and hadn't booked but they fitted us in despite a full house with reservations. Starters of CHicken Tikka Masala Puri were beautifully presented and tasted sublime. I went for the Ra Ra Gosht which I've never seen on any other Indian menu - essentially chunks of tender lamb in a minced lamb sauce. To be honest, if you love lamb this will be heaven. A nice kick without being overwhelming. My companion had the Lamb Biryani, again the lamb extremely tender. To accompany, I had the Sag Alooand my companion a Paratha and both maintained the theme of excellence. Let's be honest - food of this quality isn't going to come cheap and the prices wouldn't have been out of place in London but venues like this have to live on local and returning business especially in the winter and this venue will prosper if it continues to produce food of this quality. Final word - the service was excellent without being intrusive. The Owner/Manager went to every table checking everyone was happy and I certainly had no complaints with this meal. I look forward to returning and I'm pleased Anila refreshes its menu periodically - I love to try dishes I don't see elsewhere and it's good the chef is willing to put new dishes on the menu.

Booked a table for Fathers Day for three of us, early evening on Sunday. Warmly welcomed by staff, booking acknowledged. The Father in our party was given a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Our dilemma was which of the excellent dishes on offer to chose, as we’ve eaten there several times before and knew whatever we chose would be top notch. Bringing our own alcohol was definitely a plus. For starters my husband and son chose hot chilli fish while I had a chicken tikka puri, both excellent dishes. For main dishes lamb naga ( husband ) chilli chicken tikka masala ( son) both hot dishes but they both thoroughly enjoyed their choices and for myself Monkfish curry ( beautifully flavoursome and mild) accompanied by rice and naan breads and a side dish of bhindi bhagee (okra). We were all delighted with the quality of our meals and the staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. After trying many of the Indian restaurants in the area including the Curry lounge in Somercotes, Mumbai masala in Alfreton and the Viceroy in Duffield the Anila is absolutely top of the list when it comes to food quality, service and welcoming environment. Blue Light Card accepted.

Just back from our 3rd visit to this splendid restaurant, nice decor and very attentive and friendly staff My son and I both had the Hot garlic fish starter. It is delicious and it is as advertised, hot and so tasty in a rich sauce garnished with pomegranate My wife had a chicken tikka puri which she really enjoyed I had the Lamb Naga, my wife had Monkfish curry and our son had a garlic chilli chicken tikka marsala. I tasted all three sauces, all of which were tasty and aromatic with hints of fenugreek in the fish dish. The Naga was as fiery as I expected and the lamb was melt in the mouth delicious. The naans were light and fluffy and not too doughy . The staff were very friendly and service was efficient and swift despite the restaurant being busy on fathers day Would recommend this restaurant as one of the very best Indian restaurants I have visited and I have visited a great many!

What an amazing place! Service was absolutely top notch with servers being so attentive and friendly. This is just a bonus however! The food itself is excellent. Everything was high quality and perfectly cooked. It was our first time coming to this restaurant and we will definitely be back! Could not recommend this enough and we will be telling all of our friends about it.

Wow!!! This place is a hidden gem!!!!! Went on the 15th June for my birthday meal with my family. I couldn't fault the food, service and the atmosphere was fantastic!!! We are so lucky to have Anila so close to us, which also means we are also tempted by the beautiful smells when we pass I want to start by saying this restaurant is an all-round wow experience. When you walk in, the decor is beautiful, the restaurant is spotless, the service from all staff is perfect, and most importantly, the food is on another level! All meat in any dishes we tried was so tender whilst delivering an explosion of flavour. My partner loves a hot curry, and in some restaurants, this means a lot of chilli powder, but at Anila, their food still oozes flavour when packing a punch. I cannot wait to visit again soon!

A beautiful, halal restaurant a little out the way, a small distance from either derby city, east Midlands outlet, or Carsington water ends. Stunning interior for amazing photos, privacy, and party bookings. Fantastic food presentation for perfect insta pics. The taste adds even more value - the food is very tasty, ranging from your butter chickens, to a hot and spicy fish starter, they cater for all spice levels. Halal food, and veg options available too. Kids menu/food available too, to cater for those fish fingers and chips lovers, again, presented immaculately. Parking in the rear, wheelchair accessible as well as WC washroom inside. Prayer facilities available too for those that need it.

I have just moved to the area and my sister stayed with me so wanted to order a nice take out Indian Food was very nice but charging £16 for a small tub of korma is extremely extortionate. And £13 for a rogan josh . That is without the rice

Yes 5 stars for everything as we usual have to travel to Birmingham for a superb Indian meal! Such lovely friendly staff, every inch of the table cleaned once vacated and a relaxed atmosphere to relax and enjoy your meal. The food: a house special list of sublime dishes with flavour that just make your taste buds dance. 2 choices of heat as well and then on the next page your usual curry fair to choose from. What a refreshing change. Present excellent and after a busy day of meetings it was just what I needed to relax with friends. Thank you so much for a special experience. Try and keep me away.

Love an Indian and honesty this is the best I’ve had from start to finish

We visit the restaurant regularly and regularly have a take away and it’s always piping hot early and overall such nice food unfortunately today wasn’t the case spent over £38 for stale cold food really disappointing.

Great tasty curries, delivered on time, only let down was the cheese nan that was more stuck to the inside of the packet.

Disappointing. Asked for a delivery time and they were close enough. But I think it was probably cooked well before and then just left to stand until delivery time as was cold on delivery. Misleading description of food as well although probably it was wrong dish delivered.

The app said that the order had been dispatched but after 20 mins late I rang the restaurant and it hadn't even left.

Feeling a bit short changed. The portion sizes are about half compared to other takeaways. The pickles were less than half full, the cheese naan had next to no cheese in and I had to add my own, it was also really small. A rice normally is enough for two, in this case didn’t even cover one person, so ended up microwaving my own rice. Not what you expect when you pay the same price as other takeaways.

As other reviews, probably one of the best curries we have ever had. We collected a takeaway, it was hot and on time. The portions were huge! We had the lamb chettinad and garlic chilli lamb with special rice and vegetable rice. It was delicious. Shame we were only on holiday and not our local!! Takeaways are cash only but we were told about this when phoning the order through.

Having eaten at Indian restaurants all around the country over many years, Anila is one of the best we’ve ever visited. Every course is spot on, and we’ve already been back twice and will continue to visit every time we’re in the area. Decor and atmosphere are high end and staff and service are top notch - the only “downsides” (no alcohol and reasonably high prices) are fully offset by the quality, and fact bringing your own booze knocks the price down to the amount you’d spend in a more average restaurant with alcohol on the bill at a big mark up. The owners and staff clearly care greatly about customer satisfaction and providing great food and service. Thoroughly recommended, whether you’re a local or just visiting.

1st time here and gotta say hands down best Indian EVER. From the place itself,very clean,classy and cosy. The staff of which there are many are all polite,courteous and always helpful,nice people too. The food,oh wow the food,sooooo tasty.Started with the poppadoms and pickle tray,then for mains I had chicken jalfrezi,cheese and garlic naan and the special rice(it's very special rice,chicken tikka,egg and mushroom in it,so tasty). Wife had the Chetinad Chicken and garlic naan,I tried some and it tasted amazing. Really and truly a great meal,we sat at table 4 in the corner,seats are comfy and the place is lovely,Good parking round the back too.We will be going back for definite,we loved it.

We visited Anila for the first time for a Valentines Day meal, and what a fabulous time we had! From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely, so welcoming and friendly, with a complimentary glass of proscecco for the occasion. There was a set menu for the evening with plenty of choices, my starter of aloo tikki, potato cakes on a bed of chickpeas was one of the tastiest dishes I have eaten at an Indian restaurant, the flavours were so fresh - followed by a lamb curry, which just melted in your mouth. My husband had goan fish curry which he also said was just beautiful. We shared a special Valentines cake for dessert, which was also lovely, and made locally. I can't recommend Anila highly enough, we will definitely be making a return visit! Thanks so much to you all at Anila for making our evening a memorable one x

Hi, our food arrived over an hour late and we had guests that was very hungry, Anita were very apologetic and said it was because Just Eat had taken to many orders on and obviously we suffered for that, please could Just Eat offer us an apology and gesture of good will, thanks Trevor.

Food arrived late and cold . Estimated time of delivery was changed 10mins after it was due to originally be delivered .Incorrect rice was also sent. Disappointing as Anila is our go to Indian takeaway.

A group of friends and I visited Anila for a birthday meal and I was very impressed by the whole experience. We were greeted at the door by friendly, competent staff who showed us to our table, simultaneously providing menus and taking the drinks order. The menu has plenty of variety in terms of flavour and heat with lots of different dishes from which to choose. I had the chicken tikka meal and it was fantastic: very flavoursome and beautifully presented. Other people in the party enjoyed their choices, too. This is a busy, lively restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Takeaway is also available. Anila is unlicensed so don't forget to take your own alcohol if you'd like a drink with your meal.

We went to Anila on a friend's recommendation. Absolutely superb with excellent ambience. Ali and his staff were excellent throughout. Very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had one Chicken meal and one Vegetarian meal, both of which were of exceptional quality. The Chicken was the best I've ever had in a curry. Highly recommended and we will be going again.

Excellent restaurant, really nice staff and great food!

We'd driven past many times and even remember when it was first opening, so had it on our radar to try at some point. The service was very attentive and very professional. We were seated immediately, got drinks and food orders exactly when we wanted them taken and everything arrived in a timely manner too. After eating we asked for the bill, was given it and paid without unnecessary delay as well. The food was exceptional. From starters, to mains and sides. Everything tasted as well as you'd hope. I had a vegetarian main and could tell the vegetables used were fresh and delicious, with everything cooked to perfection. The only criticism was from my partner who felt they'd used too much oil, but that was her opinion and not mine. If like us you've seen it and we're curious, then I'd recommend giving it a go. It's definitely got a lot going for it and I'd go back again in the future.
