Nice atmosphere and great food. Service was prompt and always very attentive. Compete with one or two other restaurants nearby, but this is definitely the best one.

We decided to try Thaps's for a meal out especially as we live in Alfreton and wanted to support the local economy. We didn't know what to expect as we had never eaten in a Nepalese restaurant before. We booked a table for 1900 Hrs and on arrival there were a couple of other diners already in the restaurant. The first thing we noticed on entering the restaurant apart from the striking red beautifully clean decor was the amazing aromas wafting from the kitchen. we were shown to our table which was nicely set with clean linen tablecloths and napkins and were left to peruse the menu. The food menu had an excellent choice of both Nepalese and Indian cuisine and the drinks menu also had a good choice. Staff appeared smart and well presented and were very attentive and polite. The food was beautifully presented was plentiful and piping hot and tasted absolutely delicious. It was nice to see lots of other diners also coming in during our visit both for sit down meals and takeaways, supporting this wonderful local business. When the bill came we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious food.

Lovely food & very accommodating when ordering, so definitely worth a visit. We asked for two things that were not on the menu and they gladly cooked what we wanted! The tandoori king prawn Pokareli was just delightful, especially if you like ginger & coriander. I love places like this that are happy to provide exactly what you want, even if it’s not on the menu! Ordered takeaway at 9 .15 pm Arrived late 2 hours later. Items missing . Asked for replacement of missing items. Request refused. Not good !!!

Had our first takeaway from here this evening. All 3 of us had something different and all agreed it was probably the best we've ever had. We collected it from the ultra clean and very friendly staff. Freshly cooked and piping hot. Excellent quality, very generous portions and fantastic value for money. All of the different flavours in one dish made it stand out from your normal Indian curries. I think we will be using you very regularly. Thank you.

Wide ranging and interesting Nepalese menu with good vegetarian choices. The food was first class, well-cooked and flavoursome, and unlike a lot of restaurant food, not over salted. 30 minute parking outside for collecting takeaways, carparks suitable for eating in a little further away.

Just had an amazing takeaway from Thapas. Everything was cooked to perfection and impressive portions. We had the Himalaya Lamb and the Balti lamb, bursting with flavour and a real kick. We will definitely visit again when we're back in the area.

So as a business owner all of my life I know there are 3 things that make a business. 1. product quality. Thapas for me have the best food I have ever tasted Indian/ Nepalese 2. Marketing. There system is great with a CRM system that knows who you are and your history, the only down side is their loyalty programme is outsourced and not fit for purpose. Not their fault but needs intervention. 3. most important customer service. Their customer service is always first rate, in fact the occasional hiccup which I occurred was immediately turned into an opportunity to put things right and warrant this 5* review. We are human, we make mistakes on occasion, the ability to turn a minor error into a marketing opportunity is a very clever move. Well done guys

The whole place was enchanting. Nepalese inspired food was beautifully presented and just perfect to eat. Fresh, delicious, great service. I’m really fussy and was totally delighted. I had a mixed grill which arrived sizzling and a gorgeous aubergine side.
