The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Lovely meal. Nice service. Always reliable and tasty... Recommended for family friends or couples. Four good meals, all fresh and tasty.

Ordered takeaway from here. I thought it was going to be really nice from all the good reviews but all I can say is there are a lot of people in Brighton who don’t know what a bad curry is. The curry was watery, thin and obviously made from a “base” sauce that they just adapt slightly for each type of curry. Many cheap curry houses do this to make their food quick and easy but I wasn’t expecting it here. I ordered it “extremely hot” and it came out exactly as a medium hot would do, ie. Not extremely hot at all. To be fair to Bayleaf I guessed they would do this (it’s England, lots of curry houses tone down the heat for the locals) so won’t mark them down for it. The meat tasted like it was cooked from frozen though and the daal was watery and bland. I really was expecting more. This is a cheap way to run a restaurant and I felt conned by all the glowing reviews because, while I’ve had worse, the food was basic. Hey ho, my search for a decent curry house continues.

Why isn’t this restaurant at the top of the search for “best Indian food in the area”? Where is everyone else going? The tandoori grills here are exceptional. No question this restaurant is up there with the best of Southall! I kind of agree with comments about the decor - not quite right, although the burst of colour and fabulous quirky Bollywood playlist is definitely heading in the right direction. Kids are clearly welcome here. Don’t just get them nuggets and chips though - Introduce them to this food - serve it with yogurt, let them get a taste for real tandoori. Thanks especially to Ambika and Arvind who made sure we had all our requirements met. They are both assets to the restaurant! We will return!

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious. Everything was full of flavour and very tender. We had a variety of starters mains and desserts and couldn't fault a single thing about it. We will be returning again soon and will reccomend them to our friends and family.

I recently dined at Apna Pind in Southall and overall, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance of the restaurant truly captures the essence of traditional Indian culture, making it a warm and inviting place to enjoy a meal. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic dishes, and I was particularly impressed with the flavorful curries and freshly made Roti bread, which were simply delicious. However, there was a slight wait for our food, which took a bit longer than expected. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the service could have been a touch more efficient during busy hours. Despite this hiccup, I would definitely recommend Apna Pind for anyone looking to experience authentic Indian cuisine. I will certainly be returning to explore more of their menu!

The portion size was an absolute joke, spent £40 on a takeaway that wouldn't touch the sides, was cold aswell, massively disappointed and will not be using again, have ate at this restaurant many times and safe to say a customer lost.

The gentleman who answered the phone to take my order was incredibly polite and told me it would be delivered in 45 minutes. 35 minutes later the food was delivered by another very polite man. The food was hot and tastes delicious. Will be ordering again! Thank you

I loved it! It reminded me of an Indian restaurant I used to go as a kid. Very nostalgic, food was good, especially the tandoori chicken, moist and tasty. Service was good as well, place was clean, highly recommended! A hidden gem for sure!

We had a fantastic experience at Flames. The food was absolutely amazing – full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and clearly made with care. What really stood out was how well they catered to my vegan wife. There were plenty of tasty vegan options, and the staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. We were both really impressed and left feeling satisfied and looked after. We’ll definitely be back soon – highly recommend!

The wrong dish arrived, but the staff noticed immediately and swapped it out for free. Both meals looked so delicious, I couldn’t pick, so I ended up ordering both! Their genuine care made everything feel personal.
